CK- Kim Ly is rocking another disguise. What an awesome look! A punk, raider, hunter. That weapon looks dangerous. Do not turn your back! You could pin some crows/raven to the wall with it. laugh.gif

she is trying to go for a mix of high tech and punk. The effect will be better once she gets some combat armor.

She could pin some crows/ravens to the wall, but Khajiit doesn't think his good buddy Mirocu would like that! Lol
SubRosa
Acadian: The robots pretty much took care of the Deathclaw all on their own. Annie was mostly just a bystander, though she did add her own two cents into the discussion...

I hadn't noticed that she has bobblehead hair! There are options in my vault girl bobblehead mod that change their hair colors though.

Renee: The protrectrons are always comedy gold in FO3 and 4. "This has now become a free-fire zone. Have a nice day."

Annie is Annie Ley Oak. The other one was from the old West. wink.gif laugh.gif Annie definitely does her own stunts.

TheCheshireKhajiit: Cool crossbow! Maybe someone will post a link to that in the mods topic... whistling.gif

Winter Wolf:
I thought the Deathclaw would smash the protectrons to bits. But not one of the four robots went down. They are a lot tougher in F4. They pretty much took out the Deathclaw on their own. Annie backed up to get out of the way, and only added a few bursts. She had to watch her fire to avoid hitting the robots, so she didn't really shoot much.

Ha! Awesome interaction between Annie and Piper. Two lovely lasses only discussing what one of them thinks they are discussing. Lol.

Have you paid a visit to DC during Halloween or Christmas. It has neat decorations. There are plenty of mods that add year round celebrations. Or was that Skyrim. I keep forgetting. laugh.gif
Acadian
A beary coffee morning! tongue.gif

You’re gonna put your what in my where?!? ohmy.gif Priceless look on Annie's face!
SubRosa
Winter Wolf: That was actually my first time witnessing the scene between Piper and the Mayor. When I went to Diamond City with Elektra she passed them by and continued exploring around the outside of DC. So I only vaguely heard some of the argument. I wish I had stayed around to watch. Piper is just priceless when she is arguing! She has all these wild gestures and faces!

I have heard that there are holiday decorations. But I have not been to Diamond City during one of them yet. I have not really spent much time there at all. Most of my characters end up using Sanctuary Hills as their permanent base.

Acadian: Even bears need their morning caf!

I have no idea why Annie got that look on her face. It was just from a relatively normal conversation. So it was pure chance. But I just loved it!

How did you get that final shot? Is that just a really bright light in front of them? Looks like a flash bulb went off.

Survivor.. hehe, that's the name of my newest Skyrim toon. Sir Vyvoor.

Diamond City looks so pretty.
Acadian
Love the helmet graffiti!

Yay, Robbie!

Heh, looks like levitation made it to FO.

Annie looks great. Is pasty boy one of those synth beings?

Kim-Ly worked a little on her Red Rocket Fortress today. She put a bus that joins with the hedge on the north side along the road to Concord that will serve as a wall. She added a scaffold ramp to access the top of the bus and plans to put beds in the bus to make a sort of barracks for any future guards. Underneath the billboard she built a sort of pillbox to defend the gap in the hedge and along the eastern hedge she put foundations for a future building project she will undertake for either a generator room or more living space for folks.

Renee
Awesome, that looks fun, Cheshire Khajiit. I think if I got FO4 I would get really into the settlements side of things, myself. You should post a few more pics as your project continues.

Wow. I am lazy. I just build a ring of 15 or 20 gun turrets around every settlement.

Renee: There was one of those big work light rigs off the screen that was lighting up Annie and Nick (the synthetic detective). That is why they are so lit up.

Oh, I thought that was your old character Sir Veyor at first!

Diamond City is a nicely done place. The world design of Fallout 4 is just fantastic. It is the best world they have ever created.

Acadian: That helmet has all sorts of pop-culture references painted all over it. I especially liked the Imperial wheel symbol.

Pasty boy is indeed a synth. He appears to have been a prototype between the Gen 2s, which cannot pass for human, and the Gen 3 models, which can. He's a pretty cool guy. He has the personality (and attire!) of a Film Noir detective.

As for your comment about turrets, those will be added at a later point. Something about walls just make this one feel safer, lol
Acadian
Khajiit - A hazy day to work around the homestead but I can still make out the Nuka Cola sign. tongue.gif

SubRosa - Welcome back, Hecate! Gotta have those glasses. How nice of that glowing one to self-illuminate as a target. wink.gif Love Hecate’s armor at the bar – very sleek and accents her delightful little figure.

Looking good so far! It's been a really long time since I made a dedicated fortress for myself. Over a year, actually! Since then it's been a long strings of restarts and different build style testing.

I made Fort Taffington way back in Feb. '16 with vanilla PS4 Fallout. I might have to do something like that again, but with the repaired Boathouse.

Cool, this one will check out yer vid later! Khajiit finds it so difficult to make good walls at Red Rocket. The ground around there is so uneven!

I have that problem with most settlements. You're almost required to build foundations as walls. The only place I ever successfully walled in was Starlight.
hazmick
Concrete foundations are the way to go with uneven ground. The concrete clips through the ground to give you a nice even base for walls.

You're almost required to build foundations as walls.

That's pretty much how Khajiit does it; puts a concrete foundation (the cheaper one in "wood" structure floors) to make it even. Plus you can then build rooms or a pavilion into your walls so it's not all wasted space.
Kane
I think it's doable with concrete walls, too. You can snap them, and then slide them up or down to make sure there are no gaps underneath. That way you get walls, without the foundations. Takes a lot of patience, though.

After playing with it, that could serve! You can set up the first part of your wall to the desired height and then put the rest of them together until you run into significantly higher ground. If you have gaps under the wall where the ground dipped you can put a concrete foundation as Hazmick suggested. This fills the gap and you can utilize the floor for a storage room or something! Will have to do something different for higher ground though.
TheCheshireKhajiit
Kim-Ly made her way to Diamond City earlier. Just missed Halloween though (in game time is November 1st).

She loves her little side of the head flashlight too! She bartered it off Trashcan Carla for a handful of Chems she didn't need. (Extra flashlights courtesy of the mod Tactical Flashlights)
SubRosa
TheCheshireKhajiit: Hecate faced that Glowing One when she was 2nd level! That was a nail-biter of a fight!

Acadian: At least the Glowing One is easy to find in the dark. Unfortunately it took about 20 bullets to put it down!

Hecate has always been my most stylish Fallout character. She does not do anything, unless she can look good doing it.

Not even Anthony Bourdain would eat this bloodbug steak...

Khajiit must say, Hecate has striking eyes! Which eye mod do you use?

Also, a Glowing One at lvl2?!! This one bets that was a hell of a fight!

I use True Eyes, for the more vivid eye color.

They must have taken it off the site. Or renamed it to something else. It was one of the top eye mods.

Remy has the cutest freckles.

I think it was a legendary, if I remember right. Scared the crap out of me! I thought the danger was over once I killed the minigun toting Ack-Ack.

Nah, I wear them for the small stat boosts. smile.gif

SubRosa
TheCheshireKhajiit: That Glowing One was nearly the end of Hecate. At least he was easy to see in the dark!

Acadian: Keep this up and you might make Hecate blush...

Cain: Four Eyes from Traits for Fallout 4 gives you a +1 to Perception whenever you are wearing glasses. But you get a -1 if you are not wearing glasses. If your glasses have a +1 bonus as well, I believe they stack. Hecate's has Four Eyes, but her glasses give a +1 to Charisma, so she gets that and the +1 Perception bonus from Four Eyes.

Cain- I love the pic with Remy and Piper. They look so cool together. Girls not to be messed with!

SubRosa- Hey! Hecate is back. What happened to Annie? biggrin.gif Love the pic with the charging kitty. What is the story with that? And it looks like a brutal bar fight to save the dignity of that radio guy. Did Hecate get personally involved with her own fists, or just start shooting? laugh.gif
Acadian
Cain - Just another ****ing bug hunt (Aliens movie reference). Oh, SubRosa is right - love Remy's freckles!

SubRosa - More great shots! Stop the Kitty! laugh.gif Aww, give the kid a break; he's just trying to read the graffiti on Hecate's bewb plates. Now the rear view while scanning for Romulans. . . now that's distracting! wink.gif
SubRosa
I am guessing that first pic is of Detective Valentine?

Nope, but I love that argument! Piper is so very expressive.

Vadim is a lot of fun. I think he got all the happy genes in the family.

Maybe Codsworth could run on ethanol? Something has been keeping him going for the past 200 years.

Kim looks hot in her tactical camo. But she might be mistaken for a Red! ohmy.gif

I have never seen Hangman's Outpost without all the Raider crap. It looks much better.

A red sun rises

Those are the only good Raiders!

The guard with the dark glasses is Deacon!

Yefim is definitely more of a passive personality type. Khajiit is sure he was overshadowed by Vadim all his life. It's kind of amazing that you can tell a lot about their personality just by looking at their faces in those pics.

It's funny, Coddy's fuel was untouched for about 210 years!

Maybe Kim-Ly is/was actually a very, very successful Chinese sleeper agent? Waiting for an order that never came? Now she realizes none of that matters anymore and just wants to start over with her son at her side? Hmmm, Khajiit kind of likes the idea of that! biggrin.gif

Yeah, Hangman's is a fairly neat place once you fix it up how you like it. Kim-Ly used most of the parts that were already there and just reassembled into that tower on the left. She plans to replace it with more substantial structures after she gets more resources there.

Re: Your Red Sun link
Exactly!

Kim-Ly has been busy planning additions to her fortress, so nothing new as far as pics of her adventures go, but...

Alright! Time for a tour of the work done so far on Red Rocket Fottress! It's a little dark as the pics were taken at night, so apologies ahead of time.

Here is a pic encompassing all current features. You can see (from left to right): Hedge Bunker, Generator Shed, and the Keep (upper and lower levels).

Hedge bunker

What a guard's view will look like from the bunker

Genrator Shed

Keep ground floor main hallway. Note the shut sliding door at the end of the hall. That door and the one behind the camera is locked against intruders. The only way in is the garage door and the sliding door facing the front of the station. We would lock the garage door if we could though.

Garage bay.

Keep ground floor back hallway.Ammo bench to the left in the back and weapon workbench right there on the right.

Keep ground floor general quarters. Room for colonists' beds.

Stairs to Keep upper level.

Doors to keep upper level. Doors facing front are two large warehouse doors. Kim-Ly will mostly keep those locked but she can open them to enjoy nice days! Door to right is the main entrance.

Lastly, we have the "CO's Quarters". This is basically a modified prefab warehouse plopped down on top of the Red Rocket roof. This is where Kim-Ly keeps all her valuables, guns, food, clothes and armor, and anything else she doesn't want to leave in her work bench. Her bed is over in the far right corner.

Renee
There you go, thanks for posting those, Khajiit. Settlements look like they can be fun to build up.

So you're saying NPCs won't break through locked doors? That would be an improvement over earlier games, if so. That's one thing I puzzle about: even if I go into the console and lock a door with a 100-level lock, sometimes people get by.
