QUOTE(Renee @ Dec 26 2016, 02:07 PM) *

Oh really? This is one area Beth t00ns have always lacked in. They always look so goofy when they jump, no matter which game. laugh.gif

Especially with the jet packs the Power Armor can use now!

And it helps that followers can now navigate a drop of more than 2 feet. laugh.gif
SubRosa
Lopov: There are lots of different looks for the Protectrons in F4. So far I have seen Police, Fire, Medical, Construction, and a generic Office Helper type.

Hecate could almost pull her entire body through the neck opening in that armor! laugh.gif

That robot in the final pic was Ahab. He's a boss robot in a Rust Devil lair. The Rust Devils are a raider gang that specialize in using robots, and making armor out of robot parts. They are part of the Automatron main quest.

Acadian: It was worth restarting her game to redo her face. Unfortunately using the showlooksmenu during the game is not so easy, since you cannot get a good close up of your character's face. So the start of a new game or the vault exit is your best chance.

TBH, I am getting less enthusiastic about the powered armor. Hecate pulled that suit out of her collection to take on a big Rust Devil base. It was part of the Automatron main quest. But I left it at home for the final showdown with The Mechanist. I don't like how it changes the hud, or the feel of moving in it.

Winter Wolf: Is Magnolia the singer? Hecate did talk to her. It was part of a quest she was doing to find the Cabot sister. Hecate did try putting the moves on Maggie, but only got so far. sad.gif

That is cool that you can get to the Constitution in her new berth. It might be a while before Hecate gets there.

I did some experimenting with a melee character a while back, and her modded armor came with a jet pack. The little bit I played of her was a lot of fun. It was like playing a Mandalorian.

Renee: The jumping does look a little goofy in F4 as well, but it is definitely different from the other Beth games. It reminds me of a Sam Raimi movie, especially his Spiderman ones.

Hecate did a little bit of settlement building around Sanctuary Hills (where you first come out of the Vault). There is actually a quest just about building up the settlement. She did not do much though, just put up a house, some beds for the settlers, then created power, water, and planted some crops. I still plant the crops. Whenever I find vegetables I plant them in the farm instead of using them for cooking. There is a ton of crops now! I recently starting building cats, and plan to get some dogs soon too.

Now how did that get up here?

A killer game of checkers

There is only one Queen

Acadian
Oh, Robospotter looks handy to have around indeed!

Ewww – looks like Persephone’s leftovers.

Aww, kitty. happy.gif

Perched is a neat shot – little sniper up in a safe perch with a commanding view.

Hey, if a ship can fly, why not a two-headed cow?

Love the under water ‘splorin’ shots!

Yeah, checkers can sometimes be a slooww game.

Wow, did Hecate kill that big. . . thing behind her on the beach? ohmy.gif
Lopov
Hecate's first Khajiit!

Maybe Hecate discovered Loviatar's Commonwealth Laboratory.

Looks like the Brahmin was born up there. laugh.gif

So what says judge Hecate - who won the checkers?

Is there some sort of rebreather so you can actually explore that sunken ship?

What in Oblivion is that beast?
Winter Wolf
Yes, Magnolia is the singer. And the same thing happens to my girls- they never get anyway either. sad.gif

Love the texture/coloring on the cat. It is a little tiger!

Jaws got on-board the boat again!

I have not taken any Aquagirl perk yet so I have not explored any underwater areas. I am leaving that for the endgame. But damn that looks awesome in your pics. A whole ship is down there!

Animals do love getting upstairs. laugh.gif I have seen robots and whole caravan pack animals standing on the top of my home at Sanctuary.
SubRosa
Acadian: You mean Loviatar's leftovers. Persephone has not eaten in four thousand years... laugh.gif

The cow might have flown up there. It has two heads, why not anti-grav hooves as well! biggrin.gif

Hecate did kill that big ugly behind her on the beach. It is a Mirelurk Queen. A new critter in F4. It took a couple of grenades and half a magazine from her sniper rifle. But like the old saying goes: The bigger they are, the easier they are to hit.

Lopov: Hopefully the first of many khajiit. Hecate reset her trap to get more cats.

If you look really closely at that perched pic, you can see a bobblehead between her feet. That is why she went out there to start with. Once she was there, it was just begging for a picture.

I don't know if there is a rebreather yet or not in F4. But there is an Aquaboy/girl perk you can take. It not only gives you waterbreathing, but also makes you immune from swimming based radiation. Hecate took it so she could look around under the waves.

The big nasty on the beach is a Mirelurk Queen. She took a lot of killing to put down.

Winter Wolf: The cat texture is from a mod. I forget which one right now. But I think it was one that retextured a whole bunch of animals.

That is twice I have found that same scene from Jaws in F4. I wonder if there are more of them?

They put a lot of clutter and plants in the underwater areas. But there really is not much of any use. I only found a handful of containers with a few stimpacks in all my swimming. Plus one Power Armor frame in one of the inland lakes in the northern section of the map.

I have found Trashcan Carla's pack Brahimin in a Sanctuary house. It was too big to get out the door! It kept trying to get through though, until it finally teleported to the street. laugh.gif

Hecate discovered a Commie Sub!

Hecate descends into the depths

She finds that the captain is a decent fellow though

So she agrees to help him get back to China

Now what do the instructions say about the nuclear reactor?

Afterward Comrade Hecate returned to Sanctuary to oversee the farming efforts
Winter Wolf
Looks like the Commie sub was doing recon when the bombs fell. The captain got some nasty rad burns there. laugh.gif

I have not done that quest yet that involves the sub but have always been meaning to. Good thing Hecate put her helmet on before tinkering with that reactor!

Love the hat! Comrade Hecate. Lol.

I see that the Vault Tech guy has paid a visit to Sanctuary after all that time....his skin does not look any better. laugh.gif
Acadian
Eeep – sorry ‘bout the Persephone/Loviatar mixup. embarrased.gif

A submarine! Sounds like Hecate values individuals and their merit more than simply their association/cause. If that boat commander was a decent fellow, I’m glad she helped him get home. Looks like he may have gifted her with his hat?

Oh, nuclear reactors are easy – they work just like warp cores. I think. biggrin.gif
Lopov
Commies are tough to bring down, that Captain is the best proof, look for how many years he's been around already. laugh.gif I see that he rewarded Hecate with his hat.

Who's that ghoul on Hecate's right in the last pic? He doesn't look like an ordinary farmer.
Winter Wolf
Just a look at my new toon and the small shack she has built.

Shazelle

Waiting for something or someone

Shazelle came from a good family but fell in with the raiders. She has lived a very hard past life and is hiding out in Sanctuary. She is someone who is tired and looking for a change, but those same people are bound to come calling again soon....
SubRosa
Is that in Sanctuary Hills? I was wondering how come it will let me demolish some buildings there to get down to just the foundation like in your first pic, but other buildings there I cannot get rid of?

That is a pretty fancy shack on the inside! Lots of Nuka. A float sounds great!

Those are some impressive sideburns above her bed!

Shaz is rocking a great mohawk! Looks like she has seen some mileage though... ohmy.gif She looks like a Punk Mobster, is her last name Soprano? wink.gif

Lopov
Shazelle looks rough and tough and dangerous. Her scarred face fits well with her business suit she's wearing but it would go well with raider outfits as well, I guess. Nice wooden residence she has.
Winter Wolf
SubRosa- Yes, it is one of the foundations down next to the water on the east side of town. I have no idea why only some house can be scrapped and not others- perhaps the numerous quests are linked to the area so we have to keep them. Other than that I am not sure. Remember the robot who gives us a tour? Those houses he enters to combat the roaches still stay.

I have put a vault mod close to my house yesterday. It connects wonderfully well with the pathway and side door I happened to put there. It makes it feels like twin children!

In this pic the vault sits closer to the water. The balcony of my house can be seen over the umbrella. The blue door on the right is the vault mod.

Lopov- Thanks! I have plenty of outfits to chose from in the game. The great thing about FO4 is that ballistic weave can be placed on all items to boost their defense rating- so it is easy to match and mix. Shaz is going with the suit look to help blend back into society.

A new day dawns in the Commonwealth

Bethesda team meeting

**

I am using a mod now that changes the difficulty setting. It gives x2 player damage across the board and lifts enemy damage to x2 at normal to x4 at very hard. I like playing Fallout with more realistic bullet damage and it makes me seek cover and chose my firefights. Do any PC gamers here play around with these things?

Shaz is doing early railroad at the moment- hoping to find out more about her missing son and what the synths are up to. She kicked butt in the firefights but missed seeing the mine when she was leaving the building.

KABOOM! laugh.gif
Lopov
Interesting looking sky, like it's painted - is that vanilla?

Wow, great hairstyle! She looks so tough, I know I already said that but the combination of her rugged face with business suit is perfect.

Teddies seem to suffer a lot in FO4, now this, and SubRosa already showed us a caged teddy.

LOL @ the caption of the last pic! biggrin.gif Did Shaz overhear their plans for the future? wink.gif
SubRosa
I just don't have the interest in going to all that trouble to muck with the workshop stuff. I mostly just want to explore, kill things, eat them, take their treasure... You know, good old-fashioned gaming! biggrin.gif

Cool sunrise over Sanctuary Hills.

Love Shaz's folded over side buzz! Another great punk look.

A Face-Hugger has got that poor teddy bear! laugh.gif

That probably is what the staff meetings at Bethesda look like... biggrin.gif

Like all the other games, I leave the Difficulty setting alone and never touch it.

If you like combat to be more lethal, you might try the Modern Firearms mod. It's not on the Nexus, but you can google it and find their page. It's guns are a lot more deadly than the vanilla ones.

Whoa. Holy [censored] [censored] [censored] whoa.

See this is why I love Bethesda games. All these people are like "durr, witcher 3 has better graphix", but does Witcher 3 have kitty-cats? Huh? I rest my case. Then again, shut up Renee. That's probably mod-added, not Bethesda-added. There's actually a lot of critter pictures in this last batch. Yeah, how did that cow get all the way up there? laugh.gif

That cat has lynx patterns on its fur too. It looks like it's about to pounce something.

QUOTE(Winter Wolf @ Dec 30 2016, 10:49 PM) *

This one (again) it's so photo-realistic.

Shaz looks like an Aussie for some reason, I'm not 100% sure why, but the way she rocks mohawks with 3-pieceers. I love her residence too!
SubRosa
Winter Wolf: The sub (The Yangtze) was doing more than recon. It was a ballistic sub, and it fired all of its strategic missiles at the start of the war, as it was ordered to. It might be the source of the nukes you see in the tutorial of the game. The Yangtze quest is a good one. It gives you the option of helping the captain or killing him. Helping him has it benefits, but for Hecate it was just the right thing to do.

Hecate did run into the Vault Salsesman in Goodneighbor, and talked him into moving to Sanctuary Hills.

Acadian: Hecate is a nice person, and she always prefers talking to shooting. So she could not kill the Chinese Captain out of revenge for a world that died over 200 years before. He was remorseful for what he had done, and that was more than enough for her. The least she could do was help him get back to his own home, after two centuries.

I am not sure that warp cores are so easy either! ohmy.gif laugh.gif

Lopov: Hecate actually got her Commie Sub Hat from the First Mate. He was a feral farther down in the ship, along with the rest of the crew. There was a lot of zombie killing involved... biggrin.gif

The ghoul in the trenchcoat is one of the first characters you meet in Fallout 4. He is the Vault Tec salesman who appears in the tutorial, and sells you your place in Vault 111. He tried getting into the Vault when the bombs fell, but they wouldn't let him in. So he had to survive the old-fashioned way, by becoming a ghoul! You can talk him into coming back to Sanctuary Hills (where you lived before the war, and start the game).

Hecate found The Dragonborn!
Winter Wolf
Wow! That shot with the bloody big Yao Guai is awesome! Love the color and texturing you have added. Or is that an albino one- I haven't encountered that one yet. Not sure how Hecate would be able to sneak with that guy beside you. His sniffles and bad breath would give you away. laugh.gif

Heacte did find the dragonborn! Now hiding out in a run down community- what a fall from grace!

**

Lopov- Yes, I am pretty sure the sunrise is vanilla. I do run the True Storms mod on Fallout at the moment. It changes up the rain, rad storms, audio etc but keeps default clear weather. The lighting and weather is stellar in FO4 and you will love it. Speaking of which when are you going to play it? biggrin.gif

SubRosa-
QUOTE
I mostly just want to explore, kill things, eat them

blink.gif

It is a very good thing you did not play Teresa as a stereotypical meat eating Bosmer. Hiding in the sewers and venturing out at night she could have easily chewed herself through all of Cyrodiil. laugh.gif

I have switched back to default difficulty- I was missing the length and variety of both inside and outside VATS combat. With x2 damage you dominate too much as most times it is easy to get the jump on people. Next time I will try x2 to me and x3 to the enemy. And no healing.

Renee- Thanks! I have not considered that Shaz might look Aussie. That is awesome!
SubRosa
Back in my old days of playing D&D, there was sort of a mantra that got started: "I go into the room. I kill it. I eat it. I take its treasure. Next room..." biggrin.gif
Winter Wolf
I hope your DM allowed toothpicks in their game. laugh.gif

I just saw this pic at Reddit. I must remember to do this!
Acadian
Mr Handy – is that like a sex toy robot? whistling.gif

Hecate adventuring with a Russian Bear!

I love the irony of 'Welcome to Covenant.' + 'Restricted Area, Keep Out.' blink.gif

As soon as I opened your last screen I was struck by the same thing – there is the iconic Dragonborn Nord! viking.gif
Lopov
@SubRosa - is that a Commonwealth variant of a Yao Guai? It no longer looks like a rabid bear.

That guy is wearing banded iron armor. laugh.gif Looks like Hecate wasn't the only one who was frozen for a few hundred years.

@Winter Wolf - LoL @ Marcy Long, who is she actually?

My current laptop can't handle FO4 but because it works fine, I'm not going to buy a new one yet. I'm thinking of buying a new PC when next TES comes out if I will still have time to game at that point because we plan to expand our family in this or next year. smile.gif
SubRosa
Acadian: Mr. Handy is actually a house-hold helper robot. So he might come with... attachments... whistling.gif

Turns out that most people would be better off staying away from Covenant, as the denizens have a habit of kidnapping, torturing, and murdering them.

Hecate liked the Dragonborn guy. His name is Honest Dan, and unfortunately he is only involved in one quest, and then vanishes from the world afterward. Maybe he had to go back to Skyrim to kill more dragons?

Lopov: I am using a mod that replaces the textures of several animals, the Yao-Guai is one of them. That is why it looks so healthy.

Bethesda clearly reused the iron armor for the base of that shirt the Dragonborn guy is wearing. He looks like he stepped right out of Skyrim.

I rolled a new toon to b87t teh game with. This time to try out melee weapons.

Meet Elektra (the game actually has her name, so people call her that. (Or maybe it is Electron they are saying...)

Her nano suit armor comes with a jet pack!

Her nano sword kills bugs dead

In the end, there can be only one

Elektra is pleased
Lopov
Flying Elektra! Looking good, are we?

Yuck, that bug was full of whatever was inside it.

The raider has a creepy mask.

Smiling Elektra.
Acadian
Welcome, Elektra! Nice name and I see your skill in char gen - particularly with noses, cheeks, jawlines and chins remain evident. Very nice!

A jet pack would be just the ticket sometimes for a melee fighter to close with or even escape her foes.

Sever head, absorb power, move on. . . easy as killin' dragons.
SubRosa
Lopov: Flyiinnn Soooo Hiiiiighhhhh! laugh.gif

That was a Bloatfly that made such a dramatic explosion. Fallout 4 has much more graphical deaths, with big fountains of blood when you kill people.

The burlap hood thing is really creepy. It makes me think of the monster from an urban myth.

Acadian: I have actually had a lot of trouble with Elektra. It started with actually making two characters with the same basic face, Mochizuki Chiyomi and Elektra. I just changed the hair and skin tones between them. Elektra won out because the red hair worked better with the red and orange in her nano suit. In fact, I got her name because I was scrambling for what to call a red-haired ninja!

But it got worse from there. I had a lot of trouble with her nose. It was crooked. In some pics it is not noticeable, but in others taken from an angle it really jumped out. The problem is the new face gen, and the way you can reshape faces by dragging the parts with the left mouse button. Without realizing it, I must have pulled the bottom or top of her head and/or nose to one side, and bent it. I have spent hours working on it over and over. Since I couldn't see well enough to do it in the game, I had to go back to the Vault Exit where you get another chance to change you face. Then after updating it there I had to use the Face Ripper to copy that face to her current save. That in turn was made harder because Bethesda completely changed how they name and organize save files. I think I finally have it fixed, but keep staring at it, probably to the point of being overcritical.

The jet pack has been a lot of fun. It does not let you actually fly. More like make extended jumps. But it has allowed Elektra to jump (mostly) clear of a mine she stepped on. It is also great for leaping across radioactive rivers by making timed bursts of jet. Likewise it allows her to jump off really high buildings and cushion her fall with short bursts of jet. A few times she has even leaped across fatal drops to get at baddies across the gaps between roofs or scaffolds.

When I never thought I'd be buying the game, I didn't mind getting spoilers because I thought it was all I'd ever have of FO4. But a while back my son bought the game; so now I'm kind of hesitant to see the spoilers = want to experience it first time and then see the screens.

So for a temporary time, I won't be visiting this thread so I won't lose that virgin viewing plus, lol. Thanks for understanding all!
Kane
Managed to get FO4 for my PC over Christmas (took forever to get it running, but that's a whole other story), and here is my current lady:

Elizabeth

She's basically my mod tester, but I'm still having a good bit of fun with her!
Acadian
SubRosa - Sorry for the troubles getting happy with Elektra’s face. She does look good now though.

“Does this power armor make me look fat?” tongue.gif

Moonrise – where is the other moon. . . oh, nvm.

Disarmed – no surprise there. wink.gif

Wow, Night Light is spectacular!

*

Cain - Welcome to Elizabeth! Have fun!
Lopov
Ninja'd deathclaw! Good-looking sword(s) - is it vanilla?

Staying true to the disarmed shots, I see.

Sweet death!

Great night light screenie - Elektra advertising Corvega.

The outfit in the last pic looks like it's from the Mojave Wasteland.

Elizabeth has freckles - nice!

QUOTE(SubRosa @ Jan 1 2017, 04:58 PM) *

Love this one. That must be fun with the jet pack too, wow.
Kane
Always gotta have freckles. smile.gif
SubRosa
mALX: Have fun exploring the Commonwealth!

Cain: Elizabeth is very cute with her freckles. Are those from a mod?

Acadian: The power armor does kind of make her look fat. But the funny thing is you can sneak just as well in it! laugh.gif

Lots of disarming going on in the Commonwealth, and people losing their heads...

Lopov: Elektra's swords are from Nanosuit. The two on her back are basically just a clothing item, since F4 does not show your sheathed weapons on your character.

The Corvega factory is one of the neatest places in the map, at least that I have found. It goes up and up almost forever, and gives you a really commanding view from the top. It is fun jumping from catwalk to catwalk up there, since missing means death.

The black vest is one I found early in the game. Elektra tends to wear it around the house. The hat is one of those tricorn types the Minutemen wear. It looks more like a cowboy hat because of the angle.

Renee: The Elektra is Pleased pic is from a dialog section. In F4 you can now see your character's face during conversations, and how they change expressions. That is really cool. As is the jetpack! laugh.gif

Love that last shot - Darth Raider probably regrets not having more armour on that power frame. Outpost Zimonja, right?
Lopov
IIRC the quote on the poster appears during the G.O.A.T. in FO3.

Conversational, thoughtful - what's next? Lustful? laugh.gif

Elektra brought down the plane!

Raiders wear Power Armor too? They're definitely more educated in Commonwealth than in other wastelands.
Kane
Nope, freckles are in the vanilla character creation! Under 'markings', I believe.
SubRosa
hazmick: That was Outpost Zima! You have a good eye. Darth Raider has more armor on that frame to start with. Elektra destroyed all the pieces before killing him.

Lopov: The entire GOAT exam makes an appearance in F4. This time it is a test to detect androids, like the one from Bladerunner. But the questions are all exactly the same.

Just so long as the next expression is not constipated! laugh.gif

Elektra cannot take credit for crashing the plane. I think the Great War did that! But it is cool to see. I love how the wings are hollow, with a passenger section inside each.

Raiders do wear Power Armor in F4. There is no special training required. Just the suit and a fusion core to power it. It does take skills to soup it up though.

Cain: I don't remember the vanilla freckles looking that good. I have seen mods to replace the textures for the moles (the vanilla ones look atrocious), so I thought you might be using a texture replacer for the freckles as well.

I despise going to that satellite array. The muties always seem tougher in that spot.
Lopov
Elektra looks like a desert warrior with a rocket launcher and a face cover.

Muties are still true to their gore piles, I see.

Not a good place to park your car.

Skyrim RobCo.

Is that mirocu again on Elektra's right in the last pic?
SubRosa
Acadian: I like the close ups you get of your character during dialog. Bioware did the same thing in the era of the Kotor games, back when they were still a good game company.

Robbie is always fun to team up with.

Cain: The missile pics were from the water treatment plant. There is always quite a furball on the outside, since there is no way to get all the super mutants quietly. But I love the inside, where you have to gradually lower the water level by going through the plant.

Lopov: Her face cover comes in two varieties, one with the goggles down over the eyes, and the one she wears with the glasses pushed up over her face. She mainly only wears it because it adds more radiation resistance, and that area with the muties is filled with radioactive water.

The gore piles are even gorier in F4. But they still have lots of loot in them!

That is indeed Mirocu in the cemetery pic. I like the crows/ravens in F4. It is one thing they seem to have picked up from New Vegas.

Wow, good job catching a screenie of the UFO! ohmy.gif That thing moves FAST.
Acadian
Great action shots! Elektra looks really good with her ninjuchukawatzu sword - especially up on that steel beam. tongue.gif
SubRosa
Renee: Movie star Elektra. I guess she would be played by Jennifer Garner.

The nano sword is a lot better than an ordinary Chinese sword. Plus Fallout 4 has a lot of perks that help damage, like Big Leagues, Ninja, and Lone Wanderer.

Lopov: Elektra got caught necking!

It looks like the UFO landed on the other side of the map, so it will be a while before Elektra can get there to investigate it.

Now we know where those gore piles came from! laugh.gif

Cain: It flew by just a few seconds after I had saved. So I reloaded and watched it crash again. That is when I took screenshots! laugh.gif

Ha, sneaking in Power Armor! laugh.gif I can just imagine how silly that must be.

Off-topic kinda, but are you using the voiced protagonist with any of yours? I know it can be disabled through mods. I think I might try it someday, but it'd have to be the right guy or gal.

Acadian
Wow, that is some heavy duty armor!

Sneaking is fabulous for its contradictions. Aside from the obvious sneaking in that giant metal suit, Elecktra’s NanoBlade – normally impressive in its deadly elegance – looks like a toothpick compared to her armor. The armor seems to be screaming for her to wield a telephone pole, or at least a fire hydrant. tongue.gif

Living up to her name in Shocking.

So sayeth the Highlander.

Nice nightlight!
hazmick
I see Elektra has gone for the subtle approach here with the Flames paint scheme. tongue.gif She's gonna need a bigger sword!

I've got a ton of screenies to share, but for now I'll just post some of Alice's home at Red Rocket. (I said I'd post them a few months ago, whoops). Alice lives here with Cait, a dog, a cat, a Brahmin, some rad chickens and two protectrons.

First up, here's Alice and her trusty guard bots Tiberius and Quintus.

Some shots of Red Rocket exterior: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5. As you can see, Alice has walls all around the perimeter so the only way in is through the main gate and the decontamination arch (anything bigger than a super mutant can't fit through). There are 4 heavy laser turrets on the roof and 6 heavy machine gun turrets on the walls.

Red Rocket interior: bedroom, living area and kitchen space, workshop.
Acadian
Hazmick, your game looks great!

I wish I had a pair of trusty guard bots. tongue.gif
