Tamala Christophe realized that mixing Skooma with Honningbrew mead isn't the wisest thing to do. That's probably why she doesn't remember much of the previous night at The Bannered Mare. Well she remembers that she was dancing at Mikael's songs and singing "...we're the children of Skyrim and we fight all our lives..." together with some other Nords while in fact she's not a Nord and doesn't care about the civil war. She also remembers that at some point she braweld with Uthgerd and defeated her, that's probably why she has 100 gold more in her coinpurse and wounded nose and lips. And she also remembers that she was throwing some empty wine bottles over the inn. Why? That much she doesn't remember.
But guild duties await and Tamala is heading to The Honningbrew meadery. Although it's sunny and warm, she wears a hood because sunlight causes her a headache. On occasion she stops by a stream to drink some water and refresh a little. But she knows what to do to feel better...drink some Honningbrew mead and mix it with skooma. But just one mead, not more!

Poor Tamala. At least she did not meet some mysterious "Sam" fellow....
Trey continues to fight his one-Nord battle against undead wherever he finds them. With--- mixed results.
Trey the Nord passed the “entrance exam” and got into the College. He then had to listen to Mirabelle explain that she really runs the place. “And I care because… why?” he thought but did not say. He DID admire the way she walked through a snowstorm like she was balancing a tea tray on her… head. Yes- he was definitely watching the back of her head.
He then met Tolfdir, who immediately asked what he thought about learning magic.
“I… ah… it’s good for things you can’t kill with arrows?”
He appreciated the fact that Brelyna did not laugh at him- her dark skin and Vvardenfell accent reminded him of growing up among the Dunmer. Better yet, they were to meet at Saarthal! Excellent. This was going to be easy.
Several reloads later- Trey realized he had neither the skill nor the weaponry to defeat a Draugr Deathlord. GULP. Even Dawnbreaker cried for “Mommy.” Needless to say, “Mommy", aka Meridia, was NOWHERE to be found. Stupid Daedra.

It was a wild day for Tamala Christophe. She got infected with Rockjoint (again), was stalked by a Frost Troll and attacked by a Sabre Cat. She also 'exchanged' her Orcish dagger for a scimitar. But first things first...
She was searching for a barrow located SE of Winterhold when she got lost. Either she missed a way or didn't make a good enough sketch. However she remembered that a barrow is located somewhere north and decided to go that way, hoping that she'll eventually find it. On a way there she was ambushed by a family of wolves and not even her Necklace of Disease Resistance (which she pickpocketed from Sybille Stentor in Solitude BTW) could prevent her from contracting Rockjoint. Having no appropriate potion, she had no choice but to grit her teeth and push on.
Not long after she spotted a barrow in the distance and the man whom she was supposed to meet her was standing outside. For some reason he began running towards her when he saw her and pulled out his dwarven sword. Tamala didn't understand what was going on and pulled out her orcish dagger as well but the man ran past her. When Tamala turned around she noticed...A Frost Troll! A Frost Troll that was obviously trying to attack her but the man went on and help her. Together they defeated it and ventured into a forgotten barrow.
What happened there, would be more appropriate for Spoilers thread, suffice to say that what had happened down there, didn't really positively affect on Tamala. Luckily her new objective was close - Winterhold. While walking there she came upon two Redguards who were questioning a traveler. Although Tamala was a Redguard like them, she had never seen Alik'r soldiers before since she spent most of her life in Cyrodiil. They were not very talkative though but Tamala joined them nonetheless. Since they were much faster walkers as her, they quickly left her behind which at least partially led to their demise.
Before Tamala even realized what was going on, one Alik'r soldier was already dead while huge white beast jumped on the other one and finished him off in a few seconds. Tamala quickly crouched, hoping that the beast wouldn't spot her but she obviously ran out of her luck. But much to her surprise, the beast wasn't so difficult to defeat. Tamala used her common technique which involved running around the enemy in circles and hitting it while hopefully getting bit as less as possible. After a few long minutes Tamala killed her first Sabre Cat in Skyrim.
She couldn't bury her kinsmen in the middle of the road, so she at least moved their corpses to a nearby bush. Hopefully someone would take care of them. Ironically, she had never met Alik'r before but the first ones she met, died after only a few minutes. However, she decided to take something that will remind her of this meeting. A scimitar - symbol of Hammerfell. She never wielded one before but she had a feeling that this weapon will serve her better as her old Orcish Dagger. With her new weapon she headed to Winterhold.
Her luck returned in The Frozen Hearth because the man whom she was supposed to talk to at the College, was having a dinner at the inn. However he couldn't help her much except of directing her to the Court Wizard of Markarth. Before falling asleep Tamala thought whether she's capable enough to travel to Markarth on her own or should she return to Windhelm and hire a carriage. Before she could decide, she fell asleep.

Jerric and Darnand (Marcurio) had an incident in which Jerric incurred a 40 Septim bounty (assault) followed by a 1,000 Septim bounty (murder) followed by the absolution of all fines upon the witnesses’ deaths. It was a very messy fight involving three Thalmor and their prisoner plus a thief who ran up behind Jerric at the start of the confrontation. My guess is that Jerric accidentally shield bashed the prisoner and got the bounty, then Darnand killed him with his Chain Lightning. There was quite a body pile on the road.
So even though there was no arrest and the prisoner rode to Sovngarde on a blaze of glory (with Jerric’s spare ebony sword in his hand) Jerric now has a murder on his record.
It’s also possible that Darnand (Marcurio) attacked the prisoner after Jerric shield bashed him. Stranger things have happened. It was hard to tell with all of the damned Chain Lightning making the screen look all wobbly.

Doh! That is one thing I do not like about having followers/friendly npcs around in a fight. You always seem to end up hitting them, no matter how hard you try not to. Granted, it was much worse in Oblivion...
Hrafn had some weirdness a few days ago. It was after the war was over, and she had started building her new home in the Pale. She fast traveled to Dragonsreach and walked down through Whiterun's streets. It was her first time back since taking the city in the war. She heard a ruckus near the main gate, ran over, and found the two Stormcloak guards now posted there slugging it out with three Imperial Legionaries! I have no idea how a 3 man Legion patrol spawned inside the city. Anyway, Hrafn ran over and joined in, and got a 40 gold bounty on her first hit on an Imperial.

In the end she killed two of them, and when the fight was over the surviving Stormcloak, whom Hrafn had rescued, arrested her.

Needless to say I paid the bounty.

How strange! Maybe those three Legionnaires were going to re-liberate Whiterun.

Jerric just passed his 100th game hour in the company of friends at the Bannered Mare. Freshly Ice Stormed crab legs cooked in butter and washed down with Argonian Bloodwine for Darnand and all the ale that Hulda would sell him. Funnily enough Darnand (Marcurio) equipped a tankard when Jerric told him to sit on the bench. It was festive.
Later they climbed Dragonsreach so Jerric could attempt to piss onto the Whitewatch Tower. It was a glorious night of clear skies and saucy wenches. (Saadia told him that if he wanted more to eat or drink he should talk to Hulda. Then she sashayed over and stood with her rear end in Darnand’s face.) Hulda needs to order more ale. That’s all right, though. Jerric will just have mead for breakfast.

Trey was commiserating with Hulda about his problems with deadly dead Nord warriors who do not have the decency to stay decidedly deceased.
Hulda asked why he did not take Lydia with him. “She is a worthy shield-warrior, and trains most all the time when ye are away. As housecarl, it is part of her duty to guard yer back.”
“She is? She does? It is?”
So he invited Lydia along for his next exploration. It… did not go well. On the wagon trip back to Whiterun (because he was NOT going to risk a cross-country trek with her again), the conversation was as follows:
“Well- if you could refrain from coughing- or sighing- or charging into the middle of a bandit-infested fort when I am trying to be stealthy…”
“Perhaps I would not have to ‘charge in’ if you would give me a bow?”
“Oh- I can… do that? You mean you don’t already have one?”
“Do you SEE a bow?”
“Well- I don’t see most of what you are carrying – or where you carry it. I did not want to stare. It seemed rude.”
“Rude is it? Where leaving me standing around in Whiterun for 3 weeks is acceptable?”
Trey was about to respond just as hotly when the driver said- “You two do NOT want me to have to stop this wagon? Do you?”
The rest of the journey passed in sullen silence.

Asgan Gold-Blade stepped onto the dock, paused, and sighed. Dawnstar was even more pathetic than he'd imagined, and the bitterly cold snow only made his mood worse. His thoughts fell back to the Imperial City - strolling through the Arboretum, the sun's rays falling through the trees and the water lapping at his feet as he neared the canal.
Perhaps his blood was Nordic, but his heart was Imperial. He'd been born in the Imperial City, been surrounded by Imperial friends and become very accustomed to Imperial luxuries. His father's attempts to instill him with Nordic traditions and culture had failed and ended years before, and his mother had no objections to life in Cyrodiil. Life as son of an Elder Councillor had its advantages.
But, of course, that comfortable life in the Imperial Capital seemed a lifetime ago. One piece of his Nordic heritage that Asgan had never forgotten was Talos - the Ninth Divine, the One to the Eight, the man who conquered Tamriel and was rewarded with Godhood. Talos had been a Nord just like Asgan, and Talos represented everything Asgan wanted to be. Powerful. Successful. Famous. Heroic. Just a few short years before Asgan's birth, Talos had been worshipped as openly as Akatosh - he'd been the Ninth! And when Asgan discovered this, and that the Thalmor had put an end to the worship of this God, a rage began bubbling inside of him. A rage that would lead to his secret worship of Talos, the Thalmor's discovery of his worship, and his Father's desperate act of sending youngest son to a backwater town in Skyrim, away from the prying eyes of the Thalmor.
He let out another sigh as a tone-deaf sailor began singing. He'd arrived in his cold prison, convicted of worshipping one of the Nine. And he hated it already.

Windpeak Inn stood as a sign of mirth to the people of Dawnstar, be you miner or sailor all were welcome to a pint and a song to chase away the problems of the day to day. Though on this day none were merry within the halls. The bard sat quite and the patrons followed suit. There was a feeling in the air, oppressive and powerful. All felt it, but none put it to word. Wrongness had taken root in Dawnstar and it's name was Caius Letholis.
Caius sat alone for none dared to share the Imperial's table. He'd not said a word when he entered the inn, he had simply walked to the far corner table, sat his Orcish helm down, propped his ancient claymore against the wall, and took his seat. Occasionally people would catch Caius gazing out at a patron, one might swear he'd a hungry look in his eye. Like that of a beggar eyeing what he might hope to be a free meal, should he get his hands on it.
After some time normalcy began to creep back into the hall. The people were able to just ignore the oddity that was Caius. A few dared speak with friends, small talk mostly. Anything to try an nurture a sense of right. In one fell swoop all semblance of calm was shattered yet again by the rumbling of Caius' voice.
"I'm looking for someone." He's said, turning in his seat to stare out at the few patrons. A silence fell over the hall, all eyes were on Caius. His voice commanded as much as he continued, "Silus Vesuius, where is he and this "Mythic Dawn Museum"?"

We all welcome you here, M3gagl1tch. I don't know if you've been to Bethesda's official forums, but over there it's like a large city, where there's lots of traffic and noise and transients, and plenty of brawls. Chorrol's more like a country hamlet, where we all pretty much know one another.

And now a quick update on all of mine.
Lord Haaf-Mersey is still in Riften, about to get married to Mjoll the Lioness. I haven't been with the Lord for a couple weeks, though.
Mycharonna the Ice Witch is ...um....heading north. She just sated her thirst for
blood by invading a small farmhouse, and doing her usual routine of hypnotizing her victim. I forget why she's headed north, actually.

Oh yeah...she's going to some lair. I forget why, though. Dark Brotherhood stuff. I'll have to check my new Mycharonna Wordpad folder.
I've been in the habit lately of writing little notes for all my character's quests in simple word files, and then saving them. I like this better than my old method of relying on the in-game journals, which (after awhile) become cluttered with dozens of quests my characters will never accomplish. Mycharonna is supposed to check out (possibly join) both the Stormcloaks and the Imperials according to her in-game quest logs, for instance, yet will never accomplish either of these tasks. The file I've been writing myself on the other hand only has the quests she's interested in.

Welcome to M3gagl1tch.
I like that idea very well, Renee. Because Trey is not real fond of the Legion- they were going to cut off my HEAD- or the Stormcloaks- they were the REASON for the Legion wanting to cut off my HEAD.
After going all the way through the ancient barrow that the College finds so interesting, Trey forgot why he had wanted into said barrow badly enough to join the College. So he had to go all the way BACK through and retrieve the MacGuffin.
Meanwhile- he finds himself helping the College because of the insufferable Ancano, to whom he would like to show his arrowhead collection... internally.
On the way to recreate the Major MacGuffin from the pieces of same, Trey was stopped by a miner and told- "Don't go into the mine- it's not safe."
"Um- actually, I would not even have stopped if you hadn't bothered me- but... I'll bite..... Why isn't it safe?"
"Tunneled into an ancient barrow. Draugr."
"Yeah don't you hate when that happens? Oh well, have a nice.... Wait? Did you say 'draugr'?"

@McBadgere- I know exactly what you mean (the reason for which see below)- my play style fits ME and I have trouble making different characters to do things differently- for example- pure mages. (They are so bloody fragile).
So- today Trey the Nord (Mk. VI- I think) did the "Oh they caught you crossing the border- Off with his head" part of the story
The reason for which is that even though his predecessor did not want to be a mage, he got caught up in the whole "College of Winterhold- can I PLEASE kill Ancano at the end of this?" thing. And there came a point where he (I) ran up on the well-known and apparently never-patched glitch that hits deep into the questline.
So- Trey (Mk. VI or thereabouts) is going to do just enough around Riverwood and Whiterun to get to go to Winterhold and deal with that WHOLE thing (if possible), before doing the OTHER 35 LEVELS (bad words) of stuff that Trey (Mk. V) had done.
At least I am playing Skyrim. But I still catch myself wondering why the nasty draugr don't burst into flames when I shoot them with my bow now... (sigh).

No wait- in seeking to go where no Treydog character has gone before- i.e. finish the Winterhold quests- found himself in a Dwemer ruin.
Said ruin was full of Dwemer guardian constructs- OK- but also full of nasty blind elf-types- and their nasty "pets". And Trey- like his creator- has "issues" with multi-legged, slithery, poisonous, exo-skeletal, skittery... (shudders)...
And- because besides the whole "be a mage" thing, he is also the first of my characters to do anything with enchanting- he had ZERO magical weaponry... It was... interesting
If one defines "interesting" as nearly getting killed every time one goes through a door.
So- for now Trey is back in Whiterun to unload his.... to repair his gear and make some new potions. And MAYBE get a really nice bow that will set things he shoots in fire. Fire good! (He IS a Nord after all).

Darnand and Jerric (Argis) have been entertaining me with the antics of their summonings.
Darnand’s fire atronach tends to pelt Jerric’s dremora in the back with her fireballs, causing him to turn around and chase her across the countryside while Jerric smashes the enemy and Darnand runs in circles healing him and trying not to die. He’s discovered fire runes. Unlike fireballs they usually only blow up the bad guys.
Lately Jerric summons a frost atronach (with a staff) and Darnand summons the dremora. That means the frost atronach takes exception to Darnand’s fireballs on a pretty regular basis. Also Jerric’s stray ice spikes tend to annoy Darnand’s dremora. The big fights can get pretty lively.
Plus it is difficult to maneuver around a Nord and a frost atronach in corridors, and Darnand has no control over when Jerric calls up the ice man. Yesterday Darnand got stuck between one of those swinging gate traps and the wall. STUCK. Jerric (Argis), the dremora, and the frost atronach wiped up the enemy and then came over to stand around and look at him through the gate. Darnand couldn’t get any of them to step on the pressure plate! I had to reload!
Renee
Jun 7 2013, 11:39 PM
Good lord!

Yeah, I would say that's a reloadable moment.
LHM has been going through some similar issues with Ingjard. He gave her an ice spike staff and a staff which throws 40-point fireballs (the ones that explode on impact). He got tired of rushing into battle, battling an enemy, only to have fireball after fireball
explode in his face.
So we only re-enchant the fireball staff when it seems there will be some definite undead or vampire enemies. And once the staff is enchanted, LHM usually just lets Ingjard go crazy with it before he then finds an enemy to engage with.
Ice spikes are kinda the same problem, but at least with these LHM can engage with the enemy and then pivot about 90 degrees (so the enemy's side is ready for some ice spikes). This way, LHM no longer takes any spikes in his back.

Renee, it sounds like Ingjard is LHM’s kind of lady! He never made the bandits turn sideways for Mjoll.

The same issue works out for Jerric in his game. Darnand (Marcurio) goes crazy with his chain lightning and Jerric (Atronach stone) absorbs enough to keep healing and dishing out the ice storms. Darnand has the Apprentice Stone in his game, so he’ll never give Jerric (Argis) one of those AOE staves. He would be a magecicle!
Acadian, the fellas had a legendary battle against

In other news, Trey found he could not be a member of the Lawn Dart, because there are no throwable weapons in Skyrim. (I blame the Thalmor- stupid arbitrary laws against traditional cultural armaments.....)
He went to visit a museum and found a town that seems plagued by Daedric princes. The whole "do a favor for Marooned Dragon" strikes him as odd- but- hey... killing banditti, so why not?
And then the people are complaining about bad dreams. Trey ruminated to himself- "Bad dreams? Try waking up every morning to your 'housecarl' looming over the bed or sitting in the chair in your room! No one told me that housecarling meant watching me (literally) while I sleep. It might be different if she wasn't wearing all that armor AND the sword when she does it."

It is not widely known, but Lydia used to be a Fighter's Guild porter.

Trey finally took care of his other business and went to see about signing up with the vampire hunters, even though there are no lawn darts. This mostly had to do with the fact that a master vampire showed up in his house. There will be a discussion with Lydia about that Real Soon Now ™.
The voyeurism he can live with- vampirism- not so much.
On the way he found what must have been the happy hunting ground for every sabre cat in Skyrim- and they apparently heard Sam Elliot on the Sabre Cat Wireless Network (KCAT) saying,
“Trey- it’s what’s for dinner.”

Which rather reminds Trey- although Lydia did
not prevent the vampire from getting into the house- the body
did disappear in a hurry. Trey makes a note to himself to just say no to any "stew" Lydia offers him for the next little while.

Trey has decided to name the dead dragon that seems to be following him around "Shep."
So far, Shep is good at "Roll Over" and "Play Dead." They are still working on "Fetch." And since Shep seems to mostly "un-live" in Whiterun, "Speak" is probably a bad idea.
