I'd be more worried that the cat would get the hawk. Cat's about 10 pounds, hawk's one (if male, a bit more for a female).
haute ecole rider
Lovely shots, SubRosa! And two of my favorite species, too! Love cats and raptors!

The hawk's wings are fine. They're folded normally on his back, and he doesn't look stressed at all. (Former wildlife rehabber here.)

Freya never goes outside unless I am holding her, so I am not worried about the hawk getting her. I think his wing is fine. He flew away with no problems.

Oh, that is good! These are amazing shots, so unusual to see a hawk hanging out so low to the ground!

He's trying to get at the little birds hiding in the bushes. They are too small to see through the foliage, but they are in there. They crap all over my porch. But the hawk couldn't get down in there. Eventually he gave up and flew off.

We have one hawk that lives in the woods near our house, we see him circling a lot - but he never lands and hangs out; and even in the air he only lingers around if there is a prospective food supply below. So for him to hang by those bushes - you are probably right on the mark for what he was there for, urk.

Welcome to the flock, Rascal and Salt! biggrin.gif
Grits
Rascal is so pretty! She’s my favorite cat color. And just look at that face!

Aww, Salty found a nook. How is Freya adjusting to her new roomies?
Acadian
Great pix, SubRosa! I've always liked Freya's paint job. Shy Salt - say that five times fast! Like Grits, I'm interested in hearing how Freya's taking to her houseguests?

Aw, I'm so sorry for the situation that has caused Rascal and Salt to be displaced from their home; but they couldn't have found a better care than they will have with you.

Salt is scared, new home in a strange cat's territory - doesn't know how or where he/she stands in this new place. Salt will probably need extra time to adjust, but Rascal seems to be having no problems taking over the new house, lol. Looks like Freya is enjoying having another cat in the house again, she seems to be taking it really well (or just excited over the new toys they brought with them, lol) .

Acadian
Great to see that you had plenty of feline supervision for your move. And also that they seem to be settling in nicely!

Sorry, I posted this in the wrong subforum. It has been moved to the correct location.

Freya wants to ensure she isn't left behind in the move, lol.

Man, that laser eye thing is freaky! I'd sleep with a shield after seeing that, laugh.gif

Freya is so funny! getting up on the highest shelf like that, lol. I see she still has that laser eye thing going on, she must be armed for any unexpected issues that pop up in the new place, lol.

Aw, Salt/Elsa looks like she has settled in now! Love that nice soft looking blanket she is camouflaged against there!

Aw, poor Rascal looks like he needs a good brushing to help him get rid of the shedding hair. They are sure enjoying that sunlight!

Love these pictures, I have been wondering how the new additions were adjusting to their new digs!

Grits
Freya is a beauty. I love her catly poses. Her laser eyes in the shelf picture gave me a shiver!

Elsa and Rascal look so comfy in the sun. Uh, oh, Elsa melted into a kitty puddle! tongue.gif

Adorable kitties, KC! happy.gif
SubRosa
They are adorable! They must be sisters, since I cannot get my cats that close to each other without a fight starting.

Yep, they're from the same litter. smile.gif I got them at the same time so that they would entertain each other when I'm not around.

Freya, Rascal, and Elsa relaxing

Laying in the sun

I had to stack things up out of the way to move my mattress around, so naturally Freya went climbing

Of course she has to see how high she can go

Elsa

I just brought Elsa home from having surgery to have the mass on her head removed. That is a big relief. I still don't know if it was cancer or not yet, but it is being sent out to a lab for testing to find out. She is a lot happier now that she is home. Poor cat. sad.gif

Elsa's surgery scar

The stitches
Acadian
Oh wow! I'm so glad your cats all seem to get along. Heh, I did spot Elsa hiding in the first picture. They really are adorable and it looks like you've got lots of kitty playground stuff there for them. So glad that Elsa seems to be recovering nicely. Thanks for sharing! smile.gif
mALX

Aw, poor Elsa! Bless her heart! I hope whatever it is was fixed by the removal. I did notice her in that first photo too; staying down low to the ground. You must be worried sick!

Grits
Yay, kitty pictures! How sweet to see Freya and Rascal sharing their sun spot.

It looks like Freya owns the high places, and Elsa prefers the lower ground. I hope Elsa is feeling better and it turns out to be nothing sinister. I’m glad she made it through the surgery. She looks like she is thinking, ‘I wanted a pink bandage like I wanted a hole in the head.’ Poor kitty!

I love your cat jungle gym. They must have a great time playing!
minque
I Will say it again, wonderful kitties, let's just hope Elsa Will be perfectly ok!
SubRosa
Elsa is doing well. They removed the mass with no issues, and she healed up nicely afterward. She had the stitches taken out a few days ago. Even better, the lab results came back and it was benign. So no cancer. Thank goodness. I am so sick of going to the vet. I have taken her there about 11 times since the late February.

Only one pic this time. Freya is being a lazy
Acadian
Heh, clearly Freya owns that sofa! tongue.gif
SubRosa
Freya only owns the headrest. The seat belongs to Rascal

I'm so glad Elsa had a good result on that; so glad! Bless your heart on all those vet visits; you are a very good Aunt Elsa. (Aunt? Or is it Sister?) Either way, you are amazing for doing it; and I'm so glad Elsa will be okay.

That is such a funny position Freya is in!

D'Aaaaw! It is awesome that all these cats get along so well, especially after just meeting just a while back!

mirocu
My best getting-well wishes to Elsa! smile.gif
Grits
SubRosa, glad to hear the good news about Elsa. How fun to see Freya and Rascal have divided the couch. Looks like Freya likes the high places! happy.gif
SubRosa
Unfortunately the cats do not get along. Not even the two that were living together for years before I adopted them. They cannot get within a foot of another without hissing and snarling and pawing. Not a day goes by that I am not yelling at them to leave one another alone.

Here is Elsa and the side of her head where the mass was removed. Now that her fur is growing back you can barely tell she had anything done at all.
Acadian

Aw, bless her heart! I can see the fur short on her leg too; where her little IV was. So glad she is healing up well!

Oh, that is funny about the cats. They are trying to establish their hierarchy in the new household; who was the Alpha at your Dad's will not be here since Freya lived here before them; so there is probably a lot of challenging going on to see who will be alpha, beta, etc.

Hope you have a good squirt gun handy to break up the fights, laugh.gif

Jacki Dice
Aww poor Elsa sad.gif I'm so glad it wasn't cancer or anything like that.

Yeah, I agree with mALX. We've got seven cats (Muzette, the mother cat, her five children cats, and then my cat of a separate litter), so every so often we have to deal with one cat picking on another. We just aim the bottle and they break it up right away.
Jacki Dice
Here we have Osiris, Set/Isis, and Mizuki

Osiris (though everyone calls him Custard) and Set/Isis are typically referred to as the twins, since out of their litter, they are the only ones with matiching fur types (white and tabby striped) and very similar patterns.

Osiris, sleeping

Rosie

Also called the Fearball, Fear-tality, or Piglet. She's afraid of everything.

And Melaina
SubRosa
Marvel kitties! Melania is still the cutest of the bunch! The black panther! laugh.gif
Acadian
Beautiful kitties, Jacki! I love the variety in their colorings. smile.gif

laugh.gif Yeah, it keeps them from fighting, getting on tables or counter tops, etc. I've only had one cat who thought being squirted was a sign that something really interesting must be there if I was trying to keep him away from it:

The Bocephus Possom!

IPB Image

If you told him he couldn't do something, he damn sure would do it = hence the "Bocephus" tagged onto his name. He didn't care if you soaked him with a fire hose, he was going to do (whatever it was you didn't want him doing) rollinglaugh.gif

(and naturally, he was my favorite cat of all time, laugh.gif )

SubRosa
That's 'cause his name is Bocephus! biggrin.gif

Some new additions to the Hazmick household: Image 1 and Image 2.

Got three axolotl in total - two darker coloured ones and one white one. They're only a month old, and about 2" long.
