Umm, yeah, I HATE that annoying, screeching prat, too! Did Spots manage to knock off that guy's headdress? Hae Jin, wasn't that his name? Hard to believe he was related to Mishil, but I imagine he takes after his father more.

My cheat sheet (the chart is at the bottom) says his name is Hajong. But I have noticed that the spelling of names varies, depending on who is translating. He is definitely the guy you are thinking of, the son of the minister and MiShil. You are right that the apple seems to have fallen far from the tree in his case. But then Mi Shil is a truly extraordinary person. It is a good thing there are not many people in the world anywhere near her caliber!

Spots’s happy spot made me smile. It’s a kitty cave! These are adorable.

Nice pictures SubRosa. smile.gif They are very cute. I am particularly fond of the blanket fort picture. happy.gif

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Here are the new kitties.

Henry

Haley
IPB Image

Both are about a year old, or so we're told by the adoption place. Henry is a very chill cat, happy to sit in your lap almost as soon as he meets you. Haley is a wild little thing. She's so tiny! It can be difficult to get her to sit still long enough for a photo. I have a hard time believing she's a year old because she's so small.

OHHH aren't they gorgeous! I bet they give you your hands full! Henry and Haley....so sweet! You will be very happy together!

Thanks! They are a lot of fun. I forgot how active kitties are!

Here's a recent pic of Melaina. Poor baby developed a food allergy in February to the same food she's been eating for three years. She wound up losing two pounds which doesn't sound like a lot, but she's a tiny cat and the medication makes her fur fall out :/ Most of the fur on her head was gone because a certain somebody was slathering it all over her.

So now she's on a hypo-allergenic diet and is doing much better smile.gif
mirocu
Aww, another cute kitty! biggrin.gif

Too bad about her allergy but so good about getting better smile.gif
Acadian
Jacki - I'm glad to hear that Melaina is doing better. Black cats are beautiful. smile.gif
King Coin
Poor kitty. She's adorable though!
minque
What a sweet Kitty Jacki! take care of her, she can have a good life despite allergies but of course its hard on all!

SubRosa
Mel is so cutie! One of my brother's dogs is also allergic to something that is in most standard dog foods (I forget exactly what). So he makes his dog food by hand, from things like hamburger, carrots, and so on.
Grits

Melaina is so pretty! I’m glad she’s doing better on her new diet.

My friend’s dog is allergic to grass. Really.
Jacki Dice
Aww thanks everyone. She is a precious little tuxedo cat! I think the hardest part (other than when she looked so horribly sick) is keeping her out of the other cats' food. She likes hers and all, but I catch her nibbling out of the other cat bowls and sometimes she'll have a mini-break out.

Like right now.

Sigh.

Eventually, when funds are better, I would like to make her homemade cat food. She almost stole an entire boneless fish fillet off my husband's plate (it was bigger than she is and the best part was that she looked him in the eye while trying to run off with it!) so I think I know what she'll enjoy.

Yes! If you have the time and opportunity you should try BARF, that is home made raw food it is very healthy for cats! There are lots of instructions online how to do it! Its not hard but it takes time.....I would actually like to try..
King Coin
I like how one cat is basically white with black spots and the other is basically black with a white tummy and socks. smile.gif
Acadian
Yes, like KC said, neat how their coats complement each other. Freya looks bored watching the tellie! tongue.gif
SubRosa
For the extra bonus round question, does anyone know who the white statuette is of in the upper right corner of the Freya Watching TV pic?
Acadian
Not a clue. . . embarrased.gif

. . . but that is a UH-1 flying over the setting sun on the box near Freya's head. biggrin.gif

Hmm... What looks like a woman with crows/ravens. I'll guess that she's a Goddess as well. Googling goddess with raven brings up Morgana. Hot or cold?

Looks like MASH so yes.
Acadian
The MASH Korean war vintage medevac helicopters (glass bubble, 'wire-frame tail') were H-13's - more commonly known as the Bell model 47. The UH-1 (Huey) shown in that picture flying over the setting sun was the first heavily used military helicopter with a turboshaft (jet) engine instead of a reciprocating (piston) engine, and came into epic service during the Vietnam war. smile.gif

The Morrigan is close. Right kind of goddess, wrong culture. In fact the Morrigan is often compared to my statue.

Not MASH, but again close. Wrong war. There is a big clue laying on the tv stand, if you can read it.
Acadian
My aviator eagle eyes and recalling what you've been watching lately reveal that the book/box on your TV stand is about China Beach. So, I presume the box with the Huey on the front is related - that pegs it to Vietnam, where the Huey was truly an icon. Kewl! tongue.gif
Grits
Hmm, that looks like an otter with the woman statue. Wild guess, Ceridwen?

I love Table Kitties the best, they’re both in the same picture! happy.gif These are great!

Still fishing in the right ocean, but wrong fish.

Here is a hint, there are two cats at her feet, and she wears a cloak of falcon feathers.

Ok, that’s not an otter. laugh.gif Has to be Freya!

Also I love your two kitties' blanket caves! smile.gif

You got it! In fact, Freya is Freya's namesake. biggrin.gif

The blanket caves were actually invented by Freya. She sometimes liked to squirrel her way under the covers on my bed, and on the couch. So I started pulling up the blanket over the couch to make a cave, and she loved it. Ever since I have been doing it on the couch and the chair in my bedroom. I just have to be careful to never sit in either, just in case!

Yes indeed, that is China Beach, and the famous Huey. I am already into season two.

My cat Henry seems to be a burrower as well. smile.gif

Not a pic of a pet, but this is animal related.

Awww, cute!

I would have tossed that ball in the bush for that fox to keep! tongue.gif

Great vid of the adorable fox, SubRosa. Thanks for sharing! smile.gif

Aww, I'm so glad that you and Freya made room in your hearts and home for Spots. I've said it before, but I simply love how their coloring so wonderfully complements each other - like reverse images.

And Grits is right, they look so content there in the sun! happy.gif

Something about seeing cats enjoy the sun makes me want to do the same, never mind that my ultra-fair skin pops up funky nodules every time I spend time in the garden! huh.gif

SubRosa
So that is what Ron Jeremy looked like when he was little! laugh.gif

Seriously though, very cute and cuddly.
Grits
Finn is super cute! wub.gif
Colonel Mustard
He's adorable smile.gif He likes cuddles, bathtime and playing in the tunnel we got him. And sleeping. Finn sleeps a lot, and he hates getting woken up. Not a morning hedgehog at all.

Freya doesn't like the vet

Poor Freya had surgery yesterday to remove a cyst that was on her lip. The vet does not know if it was cancerous or not yet. They were able to get it off intact, and sent it to a lab to find out though. I should know in about two weeks. She's got lots of stitches in her lip now, and I have to give her squirts of antibiotics, which she hates.

Funny thing is, she seems to have more energy now. I don't think she's slept since she came home from the vet last evening. Usually she sleeps most of the time. Now she prowls around the apartment, and sometimes sits to look at things for a while. She is eating though, and that is good. She even ate the soft food I bought, which is a miracle for her. She hasn't been willing to eat anything but her hard food for years, not even tuna.

Spots is not much help either. For some reason he seems afraid to come inside the house for the past 3 weeks or so. I don't know what caused it, since he used to be happy staying inside for most of the day. Now as soon as he steps in, he wants out again. Sometimes I can distract him with food or a toy for a while, but within a minute he is racing for the door and howling to leave.
Grits
Spots in the sink! laugh.gif How funny. Maybe he’ll settle back down when it gets colder? I don’t like to be inside in autumn, either.

I hope Freya’s cyst was benign. She looks quite disgruntled in her post-vet pic. I’m glad she’s acting like she feels better, since she can’t really say. Good luck with the antibiotics! I always ended up wearing a fair amount of it when I had to give my dogs medicine.

Freya looks completely boneless napping on her pizza menu and in her kitty cup. She’s adorable!

SubRosa
My first attempt at giving her the antibiotics went really well. She wasn't expecting it, and I had the syringe in her mouth and splashed the stuff in before she knew what was going on. The second time she was ready for it though, and the antibiotics went everywhere but her mouth. The third time I had to wrap her up in a blanket to get it in her mouth. She gave me dirty looks for the rest of the day, and ran away whenever I tried to walk near her. So I felt bad.

But now that she's eating the soft food, I came up with a new solution. I am putting her doses in there, and she hasn't noticed. I just have to hide the dish before I let Spots in, so he doesn't eat it instead. He loves wet food.

Freya is one ticked off cat in that last picture. Bless her heart, I really hope it turns out to be nothing serious.

On the meds - I think cats get embarrassed if you give them meds in front of their feline peers, too; on top of being ticked off that you did it in the first place. Then they have to act up by avoiding you to put on a good face for the other cats or something. Whereas if you give him his own wet food - he is getting rewarded for being sick and can rub it in Spots's face - "Nyaaa Nyaaa..." At least that is how my cats act, lol.

Acadian
Great pics, SubRosa. I'm always amazed how Freya and Spots complement each others' 'paint jobs'. tongue.gif

I wonder why Spots is acting all 'outdoorsy'? Sorry to hear about Freya's lip - hope it heals up okay and if it was something . . . that they got it all.
