And welcome to you as well, Paladin Acadian! And to a certain skinny blonde wood-elf.
Winter Wolf
Hey, is this the spot?? Cool. smile.gif

I am another disgruntled Beth forum reader who has decided to seek greener pastures. I expect that there shall be a few over the coming period. My avatar reflects my feeling on the current state of affairs over there.

Great to see Treydog, Darkom, mALX and Acadian here already. Hope to catch up soon.
Looking forward to meeting the other members.
Cheers to all. smile.gif

Welcome to you Canis Lupus Hibernias! Some of your brethren have some writing here that you might enjoy.
SubRosa
Hey everyone. A dog woofed at me, then I saw a Paladin ride by, and a wolf howl. With omens like that I decided to come over to Chorrol and take a look.

For a brief outline, I am an Oblivion-playing, fiction-writing, Witch. I did a lot of mod work for the game Rome Total War for a few years before discovering Oblivion (I created Amazon: Total War, a partial conversion mod), and now I do a little bit of Oblivion modding, but only to make my game more enjoyable for me.

I have been over at the Bethesda forums for a while, until recent technical changes there made participating there very difficult. Chorrol looks to be a much more user-friendly place. Certainly easier on the eyes!
Acadian
Welcome to my friends Winter Wolf and SubRosa! Wonderful to have you join us. All started by the wagging tail of the dog of trey (with a little push from another forum).
Olen
Welcome all. Looks like this little corner of the internet might see some more activity smile.gif
treydog
And an official unofficial welcome to SubRosa! I really hope you will make yourself at home here in our little corner of the Web... There is a nice little coffee shop just around the way that could probably be convinced to serve some seafood on occasion
Winter Wolf
Thanks Treydog and Olen for the kind welcome !!

My first impressions of the site are very pleasing. Fast loading times, widescreen skin, nice color on the eyes, super smooth scrolling.
Ahh, fantastic. This is the way the world should be. smile.gif

Hello Acadian and Sub Rosa!!
Where Buffy goes, I follow. biggrin.gif
Destri Melarg
Greetings! I hope you will hold the door open long enough to admit yet another reader/writer from that forum across the web.

Call me Destri. I have been obsessed with writing and single player RPGs for years. It wasn’t until recently that I began combining the two and posting my work on the forums. It has quickly grown into another obsession (which I am sure is true of us all).
Winter Wolf
Destri ?!! Yippeee.

Welcome brother. coolgrin.gif
Acadian
Welcome Destri! It is wonderful to see you here! smile.gif
treydog
Destri, too! Excellent! Have a cup of your preferred beverage and some baked goods from the Coffee Shop.
Destri Melarg
Thank you Wolf, Acadian, and Trey. I already feel at home here!

Hi, I'm Haute Ecole Rider.

I'm from the Forum that Shall Remain Unnamed.

I go by various nicknames, all plays on my user name - Haughty Rider, Dressage Rider, High School Rider (though I haven't seen the inside of a high school in years that are better left unnumbered), even Hot Collie Rider. I don't offend easily, so feel free to add new ones!

Haute ecole in equestrian terms refer to upper-level dressage riding, the sort seen at the Olympics and the World Equestrian Games. Because I'm poor and currently horse-less, I don't compete, but it doesn't stop me from riding!

I'm a Midwesterner living (where else) in the Midwest, specifically Northern Illinois.

I'm going to kick back a while here and observe, before I start moving my WIP here. I'll have to say that I'm already impressed by what I've seen so far.
SubRosa
Hey its Hot Collie!, and Destri!, and looks like everyone else I think!

And thank you for the welcome Olen! I have been reading your story (oops, I think I already commented in the thread, nevermind, just a touch of senility creeping in...).
Acadian
A hearty welcome to you Rider! Glad to hear you don't mind appropriately creative nicknames:

Lippezan Lady, Veteranary Vixen, Angel of Adalusia, Eau Colee`, Feline Friend, Dame of Dressage. . . I think you mentioned most of the rest!

Wonderful to see you here! wink.gif

Er...huh? Lol.

Welcome from me to all the refugees!
treydog
I cannot tell you all how happy I am to welcome you to this place- and now we have collected almost the complete set!

There will be wandering wonderful Khajiit, white-haired veteran (or veterinary?) Redguards, wood-elves (both the stringy red-haired AND skinny blonde varieties), the entire cast of the beginning of the Septim line.... I am forgetting someone, I know- but I am an old doggie and hope I may be forgiven.

Be welcome in this place, each and every one.
Winter Wolf
Is it just my imagination or has the smile on Treydog's avatar grown larger in the last few days? laugh.gif

Welcome Haute !!

Dont kick back too long. Julian has a date with Mankar and Mehrunes Dagon that simply must be told.

Wow ohmy.gif This has caught me by surprise...

Well, allow me to offer a belated welcome to all the new members! Glad to have you here, and I hope you enjoy it. smile.gif

Ok so, hi all.

Sure i'm a fan of TES games like you all, but I guess my real reason for being here is to contact someone who exists here and it seems I might have to make a few posts first.

Such security measures for spam.... so very... German wink.gif

Incidently if anyone can enlighten me as to whether i'll be able to send private messages at some point, that would be great! If not, and you read this "Stargelman" - I've been looking for you for about 2 years -.-
Olen
IIRC five posts and you go from being a 'new member' to 'member' which allows you to start topics (and presumably gives you full pivilages to use other features).

Starge is very occasionally on the irc channel too, I wouldn't bother expecting for him to be there but if you use IRC anyway you could just idle and hope.
Ornamental Nonsense
I'm trying to reach my 5 posts by throwing out this tidbit about myself. I'm a college student who likes to write in her free time. I'm looking to post one or more Oblivion stories on here, for they're stories that I particularly love. I was just going to let them sit idle on another site at first, but then someone created amazing fanart for my stories a few days ago, and, as a result, I've been inspired to spread my stories to other people. Hopefully everyone enjoys them, and as for me, there isn't much else that I care to say. I look forward to being part of the community.

Welcome, ON!

I've already checked out your fan fic (and replied to it), and found it quite good. I recommend anyone else reading this to check it out and add their comments as well. I hope that you find this forum to be wonderful and supportive, and take any criticism in the spirit intended - we all share our beloved stories and want to be better, since there is always room for improvement. Even Shakespeare would agree, though it's hard to top him!
Zalphon
Greetings.
Acadian
Welcome!

My goodness, with a handle that is longer than that of our own dear Hot Collie Rider, you will no doubt be made to endure nicknames, like OrNo and such. Great fun!

Oh, I know, Ornomint! Write ON! tongue.gif
Ornamental Nonsense
Thanks for the greetings everyone! I suppose my name is a bit long, isn't it? I like to use the same name on multiple sites though, so that people can easily find me. I could get used to Ornomint though. smile.gif

@haute ecole rider
I post of my stories not just for support, but for the constructive criticism as well. As such, I read your post and took your comments in stride, and I'm glad that you're enjoying my story. I got great feedback for it elsewhere, and I only recently reread my own work. Now I'm looking for other opinions on it as well. Plus, I like entertaining people.

I intend to be an active reviewing as well, but alas, I need to find time for that first. I'll get around to it. Blame my job.
treydog
Welcome, O Mighty Nonsense! OMNI? Anyway...

I hope you will find this an active and supportive community. I cannot promise to be as much of a reviewer as I might like (darned job), but I look forward to seeing your stories.
Kazaera
*shyly waves hi*

I've been a lurker on this forum for ages on and off but never commented before *looks at her join date wryly*. Have finally decided to take the plunge, mainly because I've been writing a Morrowind fic for a while and am finally managing to get it into posting condition (bits of the first chapter are five years old and don't fit in with the rest of it at all, but previously every time I considered editing it I went "hmm... nah, I'll just write more of it/play the game/go do something completely different instead.") A few things still remain to edit, but I hope - hope - to manage those in the next few days or possibly weeks and then be able to start posting it (although I should warn everyone ahead of time that I will wander off without warning after a while - I do this with everything, however I have a good track record when it comes to coming back for Morrowind.) So!

I'm Kaz, I'm German but have been living in Britain for six years for uni (currently doing my PhD - maths - which I don't talk about much online because it seems to frighten people sad.gif). I've actually been writing fanfic for roughly eight years in various fandoms, mainly on LJ and DW if anyone hangs around there, but my Morrowind fic is near and dear to my heart. It's the longest thing I've ever written plus oldest fic I still work on by far. Morrowind itself is my favourite game of all time and one of the few things I still really play - I was into computer games, especially CRPGs, in my teens but sort of lost interest when I went to university. Have never played Oblivion, even! But Morrowind gets to be the exception, I'm just so totally in love with the world and the plot.

Oh yeah, and in case you missed the pronoun up there somewhere I'm female.

So. Hi?
haute ecole rider
Welcome! Or Wilkommen, if you prefer!

We look forward to reading your fan fic!
Black Hand
Greetings to you, Kazaera, we don't bite here.

Indeed, we get angry when people get mean. They don't last long here.

The Fan Fiction section is always open for new entries, the more the merrier. Folks might give a constructive criticism, but thats just to improve your writing style, which in turn improves confidence.

The Coffee Shop runs 24/7, grab a mug of whatever you like, tell us what your troubles are and generally you'll be well received within 24 hours by lots of sympathetic comments.

The RP section is surprisingly active, though thats just one or two threads at a time.

Otherwise welcome to the forums, and hope you feel a little less shy around us.
Destri Melarg
Welcome to the forums, Kazaera.

I know how you feel. I lurked on the forums for months before I decided to take the plunge. You will find that your new readers are friendly, astute, and best of all, voracious! biggrin.gif
treydog
Excellent! A new vict---. Um, let me start over again.

Welcome, Kazaera. I hope you will find Chorrol to be as warm and friendly a home as have I. We look forward to reading your stories and hope you will read some of the great Oblivion (and other) fan fictions that are offered.

So, be welcome in this place.
Acadian
Hi Kaz! Welcome. smile.gif
minque
Herzlich willkommen Kaz! AND Blackie up there sums it all up! smile.gif
Olen
Welcome. And I know the blank looks people give you when you tell them about maths well enough...

I look forward to reading this fanfic smile.gif

Willkommen Kazaera!
Helena
Hi. *waves shyly*

My name's Helena and I'm a big fan of Morrowind (not so much the other Elder Scrolls games, though I have played Oblivion and a bit of Daggerfall). Treydog invited me to join up here so I could post my Morrowind fanfic, 'The Neveragaine', which is already up on fanfiction.net and the Bethesda forums. It's very long so I'll probably start posting it chapter by chapter, starting tomorrow... if that's OK of course.

As for other stuff about me, let's see... *looks at other threads in the forum* I'm an auditor. I'm not very tall. I support marijuana legalisation. And I was born under the Shadow, apparently. ph34r.gif
treydog
Welcome, Helena! It is a joy to see you here- I think you will find this a friendly place. The pace is slower than other forums, but I hope we make up for it with quality. Your being here has certainly added to that last.
haute ecole rider
Welcome Helena!

I've read parts of the Neveragaine (great play on that word, by the way!), and am looking forward to reading the whole thing from the beginning.

You'll find this place comfortably slow paced but enjoyable and supportive. Thanks for coming over here!
mALX
Yeah! Helena welcome! Everyone put your drinks down when you start reading this one!!!
Helena
Thanks guys! Well, apparently I can't post a new topic in the Fanfic forum until I've made a few posts in other threads. So I guess I may have to delay it a little.
treydog
Just say a few words in the Coffee Shop or one of the fan fiction threads and I think you will be able to start the wonderful story of Ada here. And I am looking forward to it!
Helena
OK, the first chapter is now up. cool.gif
Acadian
Welcome, Helena! I so look forward to starting 'The Neveragaine' from the very beginning! smile.gif
Kazaera
Hi, fellow newbie! I look forward to reading the Neveragaine - I read it on FFN and really enjoyed it, so am glad it'll be posted here.
mALX
Welcome to Bobg!
Alexander
Let's please keep this thread for introductions only, and use the coffee shop to welcome someone or discuss a story.

Thank you smile.gif
Count Lauriel
Hi everyone.
I'm Count Lauriel, some of you may have seen me wandering the Bethsoft forums, usually babbling nonsense in Oblivion general.

Anyway, I joined here because I feel my fan fiction is at a point where I'll let other people see it (rather than being ashamed of my cat seeing it) and give me criticism on it to help me develop myself as a write.

The basics about me?
I'm an 18 year old metalhead from England. I'm not the coolest person ever, but hey. I drink excessive amounts of tea. I'm currently at college training to be an Outdoor Adventure Sports Instructor.

Umm, I'm not sure what else there is. I'm sure you'll get to know me better through time, should you be that way inclined.
