mALX is vacationing on the beach! Awesome pic of the ocean. I imagine that far off Akavir must be on the other side of that vast sea.

During my military assignment to Japan, 1988-90, I loved to travel its extensive, dependable railway system and capture images, many of trains and railway stations. Alas, I knew nothing of composition, framing, etc. at the time. Exposures are often suspect. As a result, most photos aren't fit to see. Still, a few are decent through no fault of mine. Here are four train / station images. I've no idea where these were taken, other than the greater Tokyo area.

It looks like you got some new mods for your train simulator.

Wow, it is shocking how much more modern the trains are overseas than our trains here are!

Nice train pictures, Decrepit. And from Japan, no less! biggrin.gif

An even older railway-related blast-from-the-past:

Haaydai Train Station, Thailand, 1973, taken on TDY (Temporary Duty Assignment) while stationed at Clarke Air Base, Philippines.

Here are some highlights from Jerric's birthday trip:

Breakfast spot (there's a table that's not in the picture)

Colovian Highlands

Jerric Contemplates Lunch

We did not go down there.

mirocu
First thought was why didn't she post this in the Oblivion section? tongue.gif

Nice batch. The Colovian pic gave me a feel of the Mongolian highlands.
Acadian
I'm so glad Jerric enjoyed his birthday outing. Not complete without lunch of course . . . although Bambi likely wouldn't agree. biggrin.gif I am surprised that Jerric didn't jump right down into that canyon/valley.
SubRosa
Awesome pics of Colovia!

Lunch looks adorable!

Don't go down that road, ground's gone south...

We bought a 15-years old Mercedes Benz and I'm picking it up tomorrow. It's in an almost pristine condition with only around 120.000 km. It's meant to be a car for my wife but who knows who'll be driving it more? laugh.gif Here's a pic. It's also the first diesel car that I'll own, all my cars up to now were / are petrol-based.

Of course our reliable Ford Galaxy stays with us, we don't intend to sell it.
Acadian
Wow, very sleek. And roomy-looking. goodjob.gif

Last Saturday me and Dad took down one of the biggest trees we've ever done. It's right by the road we use to access the rest of our property and seeing as it's the kind that tend to start rotting, it was way over due. Thankfully it all went well despite we didn't have much room to work with and the fact it had two stems growing in opposite directions. We did use the tractor's wire for this one.

Tree down
Came down perfectly
This is what greeted us coming from the cottage
The result of today's work

Bonus: Dad lifting a birch

Acadian
Wow, that is a tricky job - and well done. I'll imagine that you have plenty of firewood for a long time!

Yes, I'm quite glad it went so well. Did sweat there for awhile though I must admit. Btw, did you notice my dad in the second pic? biggrin.gif

I did notice 'Rocu Sr but question the family resemblance. He doesn't look at all like a crow. Or did you fall out of your nest as a chick and he adopted you? wink.gif

Not what I've been told anyway tongue.gif

I meant the second pic btw, titled "Came down perfectly". Can you spot him? biggrin.gif
Acadian
I think so - in crow form way up on a branch in the distance? So you guys are shapeshifters who can go from crow to human?

Behind the second white branch from the right. In the process of changing from crow to human. I can even see a bit of red at the top - his Christmas hat, just like yours, is it? biggrin.gif

My Ford was suffering from a coolant leak (apparently in the past few months a known issue with Ecoboost motors that's been causing problems), so I sold it and now I own Subaru Forester. Subbies are very rare in our parts, there's a joke that goes like that - Subaru drivers in Europe greet each other by turning on high beams, because they're so uncommon. laugh.gif But from what I've read, they're more common in the US. I made 1,000 km so far and I'm very satisifed.
Acadian
Nice new wheels, Lopov!
mirocu
Really good choice, Lopov!
