As mentioned, there are no photos of me more recent than one taken circa 1998, posted here some time ago. Well, none beyond those gracing official IDs. What appears below is something else. Images by me rather than of me.
My brother is making one of his periodic visits. As is his recent habit, he brought five of my old letters home to read aloud. As he read one of them, written during my 1972-74 my Philippines assignment, I noticed doodling at page top, around its PACAF Emblem letterhead. It reminded me that I doodled a lot in then. Very primitive stuff. Not much to 'em really. Looking over that doodle, I thought it worth preserving. For nostalgia, certainly not quality. Here it is,
April 1973 doodle on stationery with PACAF Emblem letterhead.
On a roll, I decided to find another, slightly more elaborate doodle, from around that same period. One that took up the better part of a stationery page. (I did all my doodling on stationery back then. They weren't worth wasting art paper on.) I am sure it is among those few of my doodles to have survived. If so, I can't find it. Not the original at any rate. After much searching I at last unearthed an aging, poor quality photo of it in one of my albums. Now scanned into the PC, here it is.
Circa 1973/74 doodle on stationery. If the older among you recognize the head at image center, I confess I no longer recall if the likeness is intentional or happenstance. The timing supports intentional, or at worst a subconscious decision on my part. Then again, who knows? I certainly don't.
