Well, you see the smallish part on the left? That was the original building. I don't have any digital photos of the old one, I'll get one tomorrow.
One of the inside:

Ooh! I like that little burner!
@Khajiit - Yes but I wondered if there's a ranking of sorts. Like in my behrd brain a cabin is smaller than a cottage but I might be wrong.

Well, according to that link it seems I have been using the correct term; cottage. At least using the North American definition of it as it has electricity, water, TV reception and is quite refined inside.
Does your dad use it regularly?
Sakiri
Nov 23 2020, 09:40 PM
He lives there. Completely off grid. Tv via antenna, electric via solar panels and no running water.

A true bug-out!
So no internet? And where does he get water from?
Sakiri
Nov 23 2020, 09:55 PM
He brings water to drink. Spring house collapsed so the water from it is dirty. Gets giant jugs and fills at his moms place, or buys water.
No internet. He has a smartphone but doesn't use the internet on it, he doesn't know how.
Sleep now. Zzz...

want to! Need a checkup for chrissakes!
Also; I miss the early 2000s when Deus Ex was completely new to me. The masterpiece that no other game has ever matched and I even include Oblivion here. Everything was pitch perfect in that game. EVERYTHING. Heck, even the in-game computers were more high-tec than VtM:B's which operated solely by MS-DOS!

Can't call them, don't get called. Suspended service except emergencies. At least that's what the website said this spring. Also, because of youknowwhat they are most likely swamped anyway and don't have time for my checkup.

Well I mean, Deus Ex is a cyberpunk series so shouldn’t computers be really high tech?

Meh, as the lowely peasant that I am, I go to Folktandvården. Might actually have to go private too at some point, really.

Nice.
And no, public wasn't taking new patients and I hadn't seen a dentist in four years. Lol. We started calling private dentists. Public is just swamped.
Runs me about 1500 per appointment tho. Twice what I paid in the US, but there I was in a sliding scale because I was one of the poors. Still am. ><

Fun thing, when I spoke with folktandvården and said I needed an exam and cleaning, they asked if I was nuts, they're only taking emergencies. I asked, does this country not do preventative care? Then politely said never mind and hung up on her.
This was shortly after moving here.
But yes, sleep. Night!

Anyway, good day today. Got to ride in my boss's Merc as we went and collected 17 old car batteries at their place that they wanted to get rid of

Called my bro late this afternoon. I mean I called him by his name....but made the call this afternoon. OK? Anyway, I let him know that he's on his own tomorrow, me not wanting to risk exposure to C19 what with cases skyrocketing. Oddly, I don't feel bad about bailing on him, thinking that our not eating T-day lunch together breaks a decades-old tradition. Then I recalled that he bailed on me T-day maybe three/four years ago. Still, considering our ages (he's younger) we can't have all that many more T-days meals together in the best of scenarios. With us not getting together I'll treat tomorrow's lunch as a normal Thursday lunch, a Wowbutter & sugar-free blueberry jam sammich on 100% whole grain wheat bread along with a small glass of milk and a half-apple for dessert.

Gotta ask, how does one make sugar free jam?
The sheer amount of sugar you use to make jam, using that much artificial sweetener, I'd have the runs just thinking about eating it. :/

Hey, Saks! You're a Murican and so you should be able to verify this, said by an alleged fellow Murican:
Jelly = No fruity bits
Jam = Small, pasty fruity bits
Preserves = Big fruity bits
True or False??
Sakiri
Nov 26 2020, 08:28 PM
Technically jelly is made using juice rather than whole fruit. I've never actually known a difference between jam and preserves. The jam here has giant horking strawberry chunks in it though.
Well, here you go:
In jelly, the fruit comes in the form of fruit juice. Jelly has the smoothest consistency and is usually clear.
In jam, the fruit comes in the form of fruit pulp or crushed fruit. This makes jam less stiff than jelly.
In preserves, the fruit comes in the form of chunks in a gel or syrup. Preserves will have more fruit in them than jam will. Marmalade is a type of preserve with citrus fruits in it.

It comes down to picking your poison, I suppose. One thing about artificial sweeteners, unless I've overlooked something they don't (normally?) contribute to tooth decade, which sugar certainly does. Of course the foods/drinks they are partnered with might well negate that. But then it's still less risky, tooth wise, than those same foods/drinks with sugar.

Yeah, it's confusing. Articles I've read on the subject often contradict each other.

Artificial sweetener gives me gastric issues in large amounts. With how much jam I eat when I'm on a jam kick, I'd be on the can for days.
But if you've got tooth issues, yeah I could see that. I just brush after sweet stuff.
Speaking of teeth, husband likes to take rocks and present to have lost a tooth. Dude breaks his often, he needs to not mess with me like that.
