I’m having some PS3 post-patch issues, so I started a new character in a hopefully dragonless world to cope. Well, not so much new as reincarnated.

Here’s J’Shanji in his second life. His new look is completely inspired by the beautiful and beloved Maxical and Aravi. The pictures are a bit blurry, no doubt my hands were still shaking with fury over what happened in Rowan’s game.

He is beautiful !! I absolutely love the long ears, came one second from Maxical having them. Er...Rowan didn't die DiD, did she? URK !!!

No way, Rowan dies a lot, but she will never fail to get back up. I'm through with DiD for however many years it takes to sort out the Skyrim issues. The new J'Shanji is in a vicious cycle of mix potions to stay alive/Alchemy levels him up without improving his combat. One fireball can take him out, but his fire doesn't touch a troll. I think something is amiss with magic.



Oh, in Rowan's game we had some post-patch dragon/potion/WTF situations. I've read that the folks at Bethesda are aware of the massive screwup and are working on a solution.

GAAAAH !!! What is it ?? I didn't DL the patch yet, was waiting till I found out what it covered.

It seems that magical resistances still appear on your effects but don’t work or possibly hinder you, that’s the biggest thing I’ve seen. Rowan burned through a lot of inventory fighting a dragon before I went over to the Beth forum to see what’s up. There are some other wacky things going on, but it seemed that others had posted enough furious rants to cover my problems. I started a new character so that I could keep playing in the meantime. Hopefully Rowan’s game will be OK later, I just don’t want to mess it up further.

If I have to start her over after they fix what they broke in the fixes, she will be much happier in those backless dresses. Somehow I must have hit the dirt slider and didn’t notice (first character mistake ) so she looks a little fresh from the fight under her armor.

I found that the dirt slider is defaulted to the max extent whenever you start a character. It is one of the first things I did with Maxical was to slide it to completely off, lol.

I'm going over to the Bethesda Forums and check out the complaints, I'm not DL'ing the patch if it is going to mess my game up.

My 'offical' game got into the launcher-fail-launcher cycle again so I can't even see any patch effects. Thankfully, I moved a copy to a seporate folder and play (initial release version) from that. I have also noticed that the presets don't show on the sliders until you move them on your own.

I love the new character, he looks awesome!

At first when I read this post I was worried that Rowan's saves were corrupted or something. I'm very glad that's not the case!

Aravi shouldn't have any dirt on her, though I left the slider were it was by default because she looked dirtier when I moved it. Maybe that was just the preset characters the two of you chose to start with?

Oh, I bet you're right. I was so giddy over giving her matching scars and war paint and then actually playing for the first time that I didn't think to check her dirt level.

I see he has been pumping iron. What can Dere benchpress now, 2,000 lbs? Oh wait, he is just as strong as the waif-like elves, and the dragons, and the giants, because no one has strength anymore.



Looking good. That second pic especially, where the lighting makes him look a lot paler.

Here is a question for the gallery. In FO3 there were NPCs in the game who would give you a haircut or completely change you face. Basically they brought up the race menu and let you change your character around. Does Skyrim have NPCs like that?

He looks pretty awesome. I kind of want to play around with the character editor now.

Sadly, no. That's a great mod idea, along with a "Wash Your Face" dirt modifier. Instead of a message saying "You begin to smell," you could just get dirtier until you wash.

That actually sounds pretty cool.

Fair warning, these are photos of Skyrim on my TV.

This scene is from Jensa and Stenvar’s five dragons in two hours play session. This one didn’t get far.

Here is a picture of Jensa in her Blades armor. They went back to get it after one of the dragons in the aforementioned session nailed her with its tail. I didn’t know they could do that. Another one picked her up and tossed her limp body into the hot springs. No more naked armor for Jensa!! Although the new armor is not flattering, the uni-boob construction is warrior-approved. Unlike the regular steel plate’s stab-me-in-the-heart style.

Jensa still looks wonderful in her proper armor!

I agree with King Coin, a definite improvement. And I can see bi-boob action going there. I vastly prefer my female warriors in real armor. Let the men all run around in speedos (just like IRL right ).

That is Blades armor though? It looks completely different from Oblivion. I was expecting them to continue along the old design from Oblivion. That is no complaint. I like how it looks. It is certainly more original then a riff off of the IRL Roman lorica segmentata - which the Oblivion Blades armor was.

I also like it better than the Oblivion Blades armor, they sort of look the same, but they don't at the same time. Hahah that sounded weird, but I would have known it was the Blades armor just by looking at it.

After 18 levels without picking up a sword, hammer, or axe, I think it’s safe to say I finally got my archer mage. Meet Denelle Jeline, Breton in Skyrim. She’s focused on Archery, Alteration, and Illusion, with a little Alchemy for those big surprises and when the running away doesn’t work.

She's very pretty! I really need to try some other characters. Aravi's got too good of a hold on me though.

Yay! Bow + magic is always a winner! Denelle looks Greaaat!

Denelle is cute as a button. Her getting that far without the backup weapons is not an easy feat in Skyrim! Those early levels of archery are tough to survive.

You take very good pictures off of your tv screen btw. Are you using a phone, or a regular digital camera? Maybe you could give a few pointers to the other console folks so they could take better pics themselves? I have noticed that one problem many people have seem to be light reflecting on their tv screens. Do you do anything special to prevent that?

Thanks, folks!! I’m happy with how Darnand, Lildereth, and Abiene turned out in Oblivion, but this is how I always imagined Jerric. He even has scars, they just got washed out in the picture.

His eyes are the color of firelight through Cyrodilic brandy according to Abiene, or light brown to everyone who is not sleeping with him.

I’m using an inexpensive Cyber-shot camera (I think it was around $80 on sale) in a mostly dark room. There are dim lights on either side of the TV and no window reflections. I stand close instead of using the digital zoom, and hold my elbows tucked in to steady the camera. I take a lot of shots to get one decent one. And even then, sometimes the character blinks!!

KC, it was tough to choose between the outdoors picture, one inside Jorrvaskr, or a shot in the Bannered Mare! North or south, the man likes his drink.

Is Jessika a Breton? I like her eyebrows. I take it she is a magician, given that Brel is from the college? She wears furs too. I like that. Most of my mages never wore those stuffy robes either.

Jessika is a Nord. They both look pretty similar in Skyrim, though. Jessika is in the college, but she is only studying restoration. She is a warrior/healer... a paladin I guess

Oh Dear. I've learned to mess around in the Skyrim Creation Kit. Soooo. I decided to mess around with existing clothes and stuff in-game and Heres what I came up with. As close to the Morag Tong Red Robes from Morrowind as I could get.

The Base of this outfit is the Mythic Dawn Robes and the Monk Hood with Red Texture, though the one in Morrowind seems a little brighter, its actually very close in terms of texture in actual gameplay. I have Five+ years staring at the thing, trust me

Plus you can set up clothing as Armor as well, so I've set up the Robes as such, and just made it equal to the Dark Brotherhood armor and enchantments, and this ties into my MW experience a little as well, as you could wear robes over your armor in that game. Win win?

I'm also playing with a Mod called "Live another Life" which allows you too start off in another setting completely. You can start off joining a Guild, own a House in one of the Holds; or a farm alternatively, or at an Inn, etc.

The One I chose, has you start off in a Shipwreck off the coast of Dawnstar. Which is also close-ish to the Serpent Doomstone, and combined with Thomas Kaira's "Signs and Guardians" Mods ties in nicely with my Characters Birthsign.

So yes, This is what my Character Sethyas Velas looks like in 'Real Life' or at least a Graphically Superior version from MW.

So far...I'm happy. Til I figure something else out...
