Don't think I've mentioned that for much of my adult life I've had rare isolated occurrences of what I'll call sure-fire intuition. All of a sudden it comes to me that something's going to happen, and it does. Never anything of consequence and so infrequent I tend to forget about them unless reminded. I'm reminded.

I had what "might" be one such moment yesterday morning during my walk. Was on the return portion of the second of my two travels up and down my street. (In between I walk up and down the next street over.) At one point I noticed a lady in her car, parked in her driveway. It sudden came to me that she would definitely NOT see me and I had better alter my course to avoid potential catastrophe. I crossed to the opposite side of the street, and proceeded to put it out of my mind. A bit later a car pulls up beside me, its window down. It's the lady, seeming rather shaken. She proceeds to apologize profusely for not seeing me while backing out. This went on some time. I thanked her for her concern and tried to assure her that no harm was done and that I had taken steps to keep myself safe. (That's true only in that once I'd crossed the street my intuition ceased. I assumed that meant the matter was taken care of and paid no more attention to her.) Now, I can't prove this to be an instance of intuition. It can as easily be attributed to good common sense. But my thinking the lady would definitely not see me and that proving to be true and her reacting as she did is sort of suspicious. What think ye?

When I read the first line, the first thought in my head was that line in an old movie I like where the man's X-wife is (unbeknownst to him) on her way to his house; and the man turns to his foreman and says, "You ever have a feelin' that something bad is about to happen, like a storm brewin'?"

Also, the show "Frasier" always has several people getting that instinct whenever one of Frasier's X-wives is approaching without anyone knowing they are due.

To me, that sounds like really good instincts and you listening/responding when they occur. That ability works really well if you have children because you can foresee potential disasters and "child proof" whatever the situation is to keep your little monster angel safe. I have the ability to do it in that sense; and because of it was able to get a garage that repaired those big semi-truck engines a five star rating and a plaque for their wall from OSHA.

I do think the woman's reaction was kind of dramatic, though; if she was just parked in the driveway when you saw her and not flying back at too fast a clip and just missing you or something.

My former next door neighbor of decades used to just "assume" her driveway was empty if she didn't have a guest; and she would plop into the driver's seat, put her car in reverse and just floor it. Well, my former Mother-in-Law had parked at the end of her driveway once and her brand new car got creamed.

The lesson here for you is probably never to trust a woman behind the wheel of a car...er...

Mother-in-Law's brand new car got T-boned = the neighbor's old tank didn't get a dent, just a few scratches on the bumper.

It *looks* like something isn't playing nicely with SKSE but if I can't find out what, I might have to reinstall from scratch. Just in case.

I think I have to completely reinstall several of my Steam games, and my Oblivion game as well = something messed up somewhere when I moved Steam to my PC from my laptop; and suddenly Oblivion and the Creation Kit quit working. I have been dying to play Fallout 3 lately with 76 coming out, but none of my Steam games are playing suddenly. Urgh.

Ugh. That's awful.

I think I've narrowed my problem down to the latest update of SKSE.

*sighs*

This means, if I'm going to do another video project, I can't use it or any of the like three mods I use that require it. Which is pretty bad, I like the helmet toggle, and SkyUI.

Me either.

I might just have to go with the plan and an alarm. Reset the game every half hour to 45 minutes.

It's terrible but I wanted to do it before WoW's expansion hits because with a raid team to prep for I won't have time to play Skyrim. Launch is 14 August.

Crappy couple of days. Brother spent Sunday night on my sofa again. Had those extras toppers in place from the get-go this time. My bed didn't bother me nearly as much as it did LAST Sunday. But...... to be on the safe side I downed a powerful prescription sleeping pill. For normal purposes I prefer an OTC sleeping pill, as it doesn't tend to keep me groggy most of the following day. Anyway, took the pill as I retired Sunday night, circa 2215. As expected it worked like a charm. Fell asleep rather quickly, and stayed asleep all the way until just after 0400!!!! Can't beat that.

As feared its aftermath kept me zombified the entirety of the next waking day. Other than my exercise-walk, meals, and grocery run (which I nearly postponed) I did little more than nap on the couch. Had no trouble getting to sleep Monday evening. However, I woke for the first time circa 0020, an ominous warning. Woke again 0140 this morning and knew immediately the pill had at last worn off. That was it sleep wise. Read lying on the sofa as long as I could stand it. Around 0230 admitted defeat and returned to the computer.

All the above is understandable. I've had this happen before when taking the prescription pill. What I didn't count on is heavy grogginess returning circa 0600. Today has been a repeat of yesterday...mope around at the keyboard or lye/nap on the sofa. I've gotten next to no gaming in since my brother's arrival Saturday afternoon. Even now, close to 1515, I'm pretty out of it, just going through the motions.

On a positive note:
Some time ago I lost a great pair of flip up sun-glasses. Man were those things effective! Had 'em for years, certainly well over a decade. Then one Monday I reached down where I keep 'em in the car to find them missing. I looked and looked but never saw them. Returned to the car several time for more searches. Zilch. Bought a replacement pair at Walmart. It proved to be total crap. Didn't protect me from road/sun glare worth beans. Not that it mattered for long. Two weeks after purchase they disintegrated into several pieces. Couldn't figure out how to put it back together.

This Monday, about to start the car and head out for my weekly grocery run, I made a quick token search between car seat. There they were. My old clip-ons. Where they obviously had to have been the whole time. Staring me in the face. Why I didn't see them sooner I'll never know. One possibility. At least two previous searches had been during bright sunny weather. I noticed them under dark overcast skies. Might have been that bright sunlight kept me from seeing the dark area between seats sufficiently. Whatever the reason I have my beloved clip-ons back.
Sakiri
Great you found them! Bad you're not sleeping. I don't like prescription pills for the same reason. sad.gif

Transport Fever Scenic Ride-Along ep4 is uploading. It's been "in the can" ready to go a solid week. I prefer spacing episodes roughly a week apart. Assuming I settle on something worth "filming" within that time frame, that is. Only a small portion of my TpF map sports added scenery. I will soon exhaust filming possibilities within that confined area. I have at least two more train routes worth showing, though neither sports my best scenic efforts. I suspect I might have another truck/bus route or two worth capturing but that remains to be seen.

The video likely won't be ready to "publish" until around breakfast time tomorrow morning, freak power outage excepted. Rest assured I'll ruin your day linking it soon afterward.
Sakiri
Nah, not a ruined day. smile.gif

Here it is, Transport Fever Scenic Ride-Along ep4 - to and from Chesham Steel Mill Rail Station. As usual, blurring is bothersome when the train is in motion, which is almost always the case. (I ended up preferring Theater Mode rather than Full Screen, but you might feel otherwise.) As usual, YouTube defaults me to 720p playback, though it was uploaded at 1080p and can be set to that resolution online. More so than previous uploads I suffer numerous brief freezes during playback. Doubt you guys will experience that.

More so than previous series entries this episode reflects my current level of (in)competence at adding scenic detail to Transport Fever, much of what is seen being added only days before raw footage was shot.

God I hate OBS sometimes. I used to use Afterburner but my videos always came out too dark. Since I like darker dungeons, this made them pitch black, even with a torch, in the vid.

Anyone got suggestions for recording software that's light on resources and isn't watermarked?

I don't think I can use ShadowPlay either. I'd have to look if my card's supported.

Heh! Yeah. That's the scene I "filmed" over and over and over until I got decently heavy rail traffic for both arrivals and departure. I don't believe TpF allows actual train crashes but might be wrong. I tend to install signals as if it did, having learned what I know of signal placement in Mashinky, where lack of adequate signals or a an unwise pathing decision could indeed result to catastrophe. (Compared to what I see in other players' YouTube video I probably over signal. If so it does no obvious harm other than sometimes look unsightly.

Can't offer advice on this topic as I use OBS and before that proprietary software that came with a capture card. Thought about trying ShadowPlay at one point but decided against for reasons I no longer recall. (I believe it had to do with something Nvidia included with its software I considered rather "shady.") OBS works like a charm for me, but I've not tried it with a Bethesda title. Hmm...I ought to do that sometime soon. Not today. I'm worn out from hours spent slaving away adding scenic detail along several TpF train routes.

There's a bug or something where it only records black video and I can't remember how I fixed it last time. Before muting the Mic it recorded just fine.

Only lost 45 minutes that time.

I've never used ShadowPlay because my last card didn't support it. This one apparently does. I'll give it a try later.

Dang it. I SHOULD have mowed yesterday evening. But it was darn hot, and we had the Excessive Heat Warning. It's a few degrees cooler today, but the Warning remains in affect. Despite that I'm gonna attempt to mow as the sun sets. No sense postponing. Looks as if the Heat Warning simply isn't going away any time soon, and the yawn ain't growing any shorter. There's a chance for stray t-storms about 1700. That'll put a halt to it. Otherwise, mow I will. Assuming I don't forget. Or chicken out.

No other project not Transport Fever related. Greatly increased the size of one Goods Delivery Train, which is working out nicely. Created a new Freight Truck small town delivery service with eight trucks assigned it. It totally bombed. Gonna need to disband that and see if I can figure out some other way to supply those stops. Of course I did some scenic detailing.

Oh yeah, I prepared a monthly city utility payment for hand delivery early next week/month.

I done it. Mowed. Went surprisingly well. In fact I felt better at the end than I have in quite some time. Still do, though grogginess is setting in. Only downside; was suddenly got a super sharp pain on the rear of my right leg maybe two inches above the ankle soon after starting. Boy did it hurt. Still does, though it's now a mild-to-moderate sting. Don't know what got me but it sure packed a wallop.

Dismantled that newly created trucking route. Created another to take its place. Foolishly sent all trucks assigned the dismantled route to depots to be sold. After creating the new route I realized it could use those exact trucks. By some miracle I managed to track down all eight before any reached a depot. Reassigned them to the new route. (Rather the new new route.) Also created what I suspect will be a vanity passenger bus route between Dunwich and Goodstown, with stops at a gas station - restaurant and Goodstown Farmland Village along the way. Don't see it making a profit but ya never know.

Also improved one Chesham street forced to cross a multitude of railroad tracks spaced too close together by sending it under the rail lines via tunnel.

Watched only the first thus far, Silent Moons Camp. Nicely sharp...wish my TpF vids were this sharp. Sufficiently dark "dungeon" interiors too. Found it sort of an odd coincidence that I was defaulted to 720p. YT does that when I view my own videos there. Have no fear, I bumped it up to 1080p first thing. BTW, I like that kills weren't overly drawn out in the vid I watched. Hit someone not overly well armored in the head with a mace...that ought to be the end of it. Heh

I'm running adept difficulty, mostly because I don't like damage sponges. I might up it if it gets *too* easy, but with my current modded follower, I might have to anyway. He hits like a truck and whines if I take his sword.

I also have a bunch of others I need to upload but my upload speed sucks. Takes an hour for a 5 minute video. I'll batch them up tonight, think I got four or five.

Planned on recording all her dungeon crawls and splitting up the bigger ones.

Edit, always defaults to 720p for me too, no idea why. It's in 1080p...

I've now watched all four (?) new installments. Needed to return to the first as I initially forgot to give it a "like." An hour to upload a 5min video? Man do I wish I had so fast an upload speed. My two circa 15min TpF episodes took over 8hrs each if memory serves.

Which reminds me I began adding text to what will be my fifth TpF episode yesterday afternoon. Adding text is normally a fairly quick and painless process, but I floundered yesterday. Only managed to set three in place, and am not yet happy with the third. Still, I've a few days before it uploads, assuming I to stick to my once-a-week schedule.

12mbps upload? Wow, that's near twice as fast as my download speed, which is around 6.73mbps. My download speed, when I tested it just now, read 0.728mbps on the best of three test runs.

I'm lucky to get as good an upload speed as i have, pathetic as it is. When ATT forced me to switch from DSL to U-verse about a year ago the phone rep promised speeds around three times faster than what I had at the time, which was 3mbps download and a super slow upload speed I've now forgotten. Once the switch was made I was surprised and infuriated to find my speeds had be halved, not increased. Called ATT to complain and was then told I had the fastest U-verse speed available in my area. Raised a stink until they sent out a technician who easily raised upload speed to what it is now. He said I could possible go as high as 12mbps, but any higher than what he set it to would put me in a higher price bracket. Sadly, I hadn't done any uploading of consequence in years at that time so didn't think to ask about increasing that speed. (One of my next-door neighbor didn't know to fight 'em and ended up losing a good bit of the speed he had before switching.)
Sakiri
Ew.

Yeah I'm on DSL and get I think 2 up on a good day. I'll test tomorrow. Can't right now, got two hours of upload queued.

Trying to keep these videos short, maybe separate larger dungeons by floor.

Our down speed isn't terrible but I envy bf's parents... they have fiber across town.

16 down, 2 up. My uploads finished.

Was sitting at the computer desk this morning around 0825. Suddenly remembered it was time to take today's heart medicines. Made a stop en route to relieve myself. Washing hands at the bathroom sink afterward I was surprised to see how stubbly my face was. Monday is the one day of the week I should be clean shaven discounting areas covered by well trimmed beard and mustache. Then it hit me. I normally shave for my weekly errand run. I had totally forgotten the errand run! And here it was nearly 0830, a good 30min to an hour past when I hoped to begin the run to avoid today's Excessive Heat Warning. And I desperately needed to shave and shower before heading out, not having done so since before Saturday's lawn mow.

Rushed through a quick shave/shower. Dressed. Drove to Walmart, realizing I'd forgot to take heart meds about half way there. Miracle of miracle, I DID remember to drop off this month's utility payment at city hall. They wanted me to fill out a survey while there. Declined due to being pressed for time. The rest of the morning was uneventful. Was home in time to avoid the warning. Finished putting exactly when I normally begin preparing lunch. (Downed those heart meds soon as I arrived home.)

Only thing of note this afternoon is finishing text for my upcoming TpF YT episode. It's a little dead past the halfway point, but enough's in place to post as is should I think of nothing more to add.

Oops....I forgot to check mail. Gonna end this and do so.

Sounds like a frustrating day - and that memory lapsing could be dehydration, so make sure you drink plenty of water with this excessive heat and running!

Such days are far from unusual for me anymore, for good or ill.

Looks like the party's over YT wise. Ep1 of my Transport Fever series drew over 200 views within just a few weeks! That's unheard of for a video of mine. Only the first episode of my old Oblivion uploads has more views, and it's been up well over four years. TpF ep2 didn't do nearly as well, but still earned what I concern a decent view count for a nobody who doesn't even voice his TpF episodes. Ep3 did better than Ep2. A promising sign, especially as its been up not much over a week. Ep4? Not so much. Disappointing in that I think it the best of the four posted episodes, certainly of the three train rides. (The other is of course a truck ride.) I don't monetize so have no financial stake in viewership. But I suppose every person who uploads to YouTube wants his or her work seen by as many as possible, and derives pleasure to the extent that comes to pass. I'm certainly no exception.

Sort of a nothing day, as so are nowadays. Got in a fine exercise-walk a little after 0600, with a burst of extra speed at the end. That's pretty much the extent of it. Moped around ever since, accomplishing little of nothing.
Yikes, only now remember I haven't yet done my dumbbell exercises, which I normally do right after lunch. Gonna sign off and take care of that.

WOO HOO, that is Awesome on the viewer count! I still have your Oblivion vids bookmarked on my "Favorites" list; and go back and watch them whenever I want to get a huge smile over your Avatar's dialogue with Vilja and singing!

Starting exercises and walking tomorrow. Need to get into this habit.

I don't get a lot of views, but I also don't really look at my statistics often. I have one video from 2 years ago with 2.8k views, but that's about it.

Oh and a 4 year old ESO vid with 3k. Forgot that one.

I normally don't bother with YT statistics either. Only started after my first TpF vid did far better than expected. (I assumed it'd do no better than ep4 has.) Was so unexpected I've kept an interest in viewership since. I expect my interest will drop to zilch once views taper off to and remain at nothing or all but, as will invariably happen. In any case, I'll soon have no TpF routes with sufficient scenery to show off, and few if any routes well enough designed to make adding scenery worthwhile.

I expect mine to die off when I get off my Skyrim kick. Which I'm sure will happen. Prepatch for Wow is due Soon™, so I'll be playing that more.

I swear! Didn't remember to take my heart meds, which I should do around 8-8:30am, until a bit before supper. At that time I realized I forgot to start this month's 10-day antibiotic treatment (for my infection prone lungs) on the first. I've now put the correct among in my compartmentalized weekly pill container and will begin taking them tomorrow. (I also wrote it down on my wall calendar to be on the safe side.) Forgot about my dumbbell exercises until nearly supper.

On the plus side I got in my exercise-walk at the accustomed time. That I don't forget, not for more than a few minutes. Always take my morning and evening meds on time, as they're connected with meals. I ain't gonna forget to eat, you can count on that. Remembered to order a new prescription for antibiotics online.

Spent much of the afternoon editing various clips into what will be Transport Fever Scenic Ride-Along ep6. My thought is to upload ep5 tonight at bedtime. I've material for one more solid Ride-Along beyond ep6. After that? I'm almost about out of train routes with sufficient scenery to justify the title "scenic."

Oops...just now realize I forgot to balance this month's checking and savings account statements. Darn it! I need get on that.

ADDENDUM: Woot, accounts balanced. What's more I finally got around to typing fixed monthly expenditures and deposits into my computerized ledger to the end of the year. No memory issue there. Just good old fashion laziness and procrastination.

Grrrrrr....

Began uploading my YT vid last night. Description, check. Custom thumbnail, check. Tags, check. (Spent a long time with those.) Added to TpF playlist, check. Set Windows to NOT put the PC to sleep during inactivity, check. Yadda yadda yadda, check. Finally called it a day and retired to the sofa, with the upload three hours from completion, thus ready to publish when I returned to the PC this morning.

Woke around 0300, thirty minutes before I customarily crawl out of bed (sofa, rather) for the day. Needed to relieve myself so decided to take a quick peek at the PC and insure all was well. Set foot in the computer room to be greeted by a sleeping PC. What the...? Pissed at myself I opened Windows Settings and double-checked Power Options. Sure enough...it was set to NEVER sleep. Hoping it was a quirk I again told Windows to stay awake, returned to the sofa and read awhile. About 0340 I returned the PC....it was asleep. The gist of it is my upload, which should have been finished long ago, is only at the 67% mark. Assuming the PC going to sleep during the process doesn't ruin the upload, which I won't know until all is said and done. I'm stuck sitting here to insure the PC stays awake, unable to do much on the interest as uploading slows even this site to a crawl. Watching YT vids to pass time is out of the question. I swear if it's not one thing it's another.

0600 ADDENDUM:
Woot, it's up, Transport Fever Scenic Ride-Along ep5 - to and from Chesham Railway Passenger Station. Sleeping didn't seem to affect the upload. Leastwise I assume that's the case. Haven't had a chance to watch the vid online and insure all's well. This one's a shortish Passenger Train ride rather than a Freight Route.

0820 ADDENDUM:
Doh, I knew it! Finally watched ep5 online. The video is fine. What's more, I discovered watching from a bit further away from the monitor than I usually do makes blurring less noticeable while not sacrificing quality. But...despite having checked the video multiple times before uploading, I discovered a typo in the very first text narrative. Or is the second? Whichever. This is indeed an honest typo rather than one of my notorious brain-farts. An extra "R" in Western. "Westerrn" rather than the correct spelling. No way will upload a corrected copy over one typo. In any case I'll likely unearth at least several more over time before all is said and done.

Doh!

At leas the upload wasn't ruined!

PT has me correcting my posture and exercising more.. the back exercises she gave me wore me out yesterday and my back hurts today. And I get to repeat them tomorrow.

It's not "you're doing it wrong" pain, it's "we're tired because you used us too much" pain.

That's the best sort of pain to have, assuming one must suffer pain at all. Your post reminded me I hadn't done today's dumbbell exercises...taken care of now. Had little energy for 'em. Was something of a struggle. Hope it's just an off day.
Sakiri
Probably just an off day. I have to get a floor mat soon because it feels like my spines digging into the laminate while exercising and since my backs technically injured, i really should be more careful snd get some padding under my hips.

Mowed this evening. It could have waited a day or two, but hot as it is this is our coolest day for some time. Too, Chance of storms is predicted for tomorrow. Didn't want to chance the grass becoming too wet. My mower doesn't handle damp grass well.

No other ongoing projects I can think of.
