Channler, think about it a moment . .. does my motto even make sense? Have you ever enjoyed a refreshing glass of Watermelonade after a long summer day?

No, you haven't.

Or . .. maybe you have.

Where did you buy your watermelonade, I want some! tongue.gif

I agree. Send more cute Swedish girls. We didn't make the cute Swedish girl quota this year and the futures looking quite bleak. smile.gif

Thats a problem I hear though, appearently alot of Swedes don't speak Swedish because you keep acommidating to us North Americans. Lingdenberry (sp?) used to be quite expensive to get around where I live, but now you get it for pennies at Ikea. Stop letting us English devils take the language. When I come and visit Scotland, England, Russia, Denmark, Swedan and spain I bloody well should have to learn atleast one language (and leave with an accent smile.gif ).

I went to Ikea for lunch today. They own the rights to every Swedish food-based stereotype ever. It's like injecting salmon, potato, meatballs and lingdenberries (which is what I, and everyone in some shape or form, had) right into your bloodstream. [/rantings, ravings and braying of barnyard animals]

Anyways, got some new DVDs, watched Survivor (go hard working, interesting background old man tribe!), went shopping, had souvlaki, missed a day of school and got over a cold. Quite a good week.
Tellie
You lucky devil hehe.

Channler tell us now, where you get watermelonade.

I use the force, you will tell me where you found watermelonade.

I've had Watermelon juice, but not Watermelonade. Which reminds me of Homestarrunner's favourite drink, melonade. Which reminds me of Clone High, when Pricipal Skudworth said "when life gives you lemons, clone them and super lemons". Man, I wish they didn't cancel that show, it was hilarious.

I'm shopping around for a new graphics card, maybe a Geforce X800, but I'm not sure. I have a very limited price range.

Erm... I think you have your brands messed up. There is a Radeon x800 (which I have) and it is made by ATI, the geForce is made by nVidia and there is no GeForce x800 (that I know of).

I just finished F.E.A.R. a couple days ago. Best. FPS. Ever. And it's pretty scary in some parts too, especially the very end of the game.

Yeah, appearently sleep deprivation does that to ya tongue.gif . Yeah, Radeon x800, not Geforce. Thanks for catching my slip up.

My school has no one in it. About ten minutes after I arrived, it was announced we are on red alert weather and that the buses were cancelled. My class currently has 10 people in it, and out of all of the classes we have the most people. Quite dumb.
Kindred Spirit
My school district will NEVER cancel school. Er, that is to say, I think they canceled it twice last year. Once when the wind was so strong that it uprooted a tree and flung it through a plate glass staircase, and once when it was so cold that the windows shattered.

Instead, we get "staff development days." According to NYS law, they have to have school at least 180 days of the year. They schedule 189 (in case they need to give us days off for horribly extreme weather, like a localized tornado) and they have a few staff development days in there as well.

Umm, wow. Out school has been cancelled one day this year, and even then people came because the cancellation came into effect about twenty minutes after school started. Us Canucks are too used to the cold weather to miss school to a measly case of ice rain or a little bitty hail storm. smile.gif

I'm thinking of taking fencing back up. I left a while ago because you got to fight every like, 15 minutes, everyone was terrible, everyone cheated and alot of the people that came went and played Yu-Gi-oh (eww) in the equipment room.

Hah, missed days = 0 here in Eastern NC.

Normally we miss AT LEAST a week during the fall to Hurricanes and about 1/2 a week to snow/ice.

However, we've no hurricanes, nor ice/snow.. so we go to school.. all the time... Guess what, I've been absent 7 times in my JROTC class O_o

We had Tornado procedures a few years ago in school. No reason why by the way, we get a tornado every seven thousand years. We also had earthquake procedures, which has happened once in my life and it was a 1 on the Richter (I think thats the scale they use for earthquakes) scale. I pushed a glass off of a counter but didn't break it, it felt like a big truck drove by.

No we aren't. What kind of alien video game manual are you getting this stuff from? happy.gif (I like missing school because every day that I miss school is a day I can sleep in, and avoid drinking 20 ounces of coffee to wake myself up)

I think we got out of school fifteen minutes early once. They were doing a practice evacuation in the event of an emergency that is so top secret, that they weren't allowed to tell us what the drill was for. tongue.gif

And once we got out for an hour or so to walk to the next closest school, sit there, and then come back. I think it was a bomb drill.

But no earthquake/tornado drills. Despite the fact that we're actually on a fault line. And I actually recall there being a tornado once, up here. (granted, it was twelve years ago, and we haven't had any since then, or for a good long time before that, so maybe it makes sense that they aren't giving us drills for those) We have no drills for natural disasters. Our natural disaster drill consists of, "Gee, I hope the state aid we get for having these brats here today covers the damages to the school and the lawsuits we get." Or, on rarer occasions, "Everybody run for your lives!"

* Bofra lookes up and hands jchamber a bit of a newly baked carrot-cake with a big smile.

Hmm, speaking of coffee, I've been drinking coffee since i was 5 years old (yes, seriously! At the start it was 90% milk and 10% coffee, but still coffee) and I've just now realized that it does wonders if you need to stay awake! Coffee is practically a part of my life and I never thought of the effects since it's practically a custom to me. However I usually drink it in the morning, but this day a couple of months ago I thought "Hey, isn't coffee supposed to make you stay awake easier?" (I had to finish a paper late in the night) so I put the coffee machine to work.

And geez, it's true, it really makes your sleepness dissapear in an instance! Quite handy! smile.gif

Oh, and I don't believe in all that stuff about coffee being unhealthy and all, anyway if it is I'll notice eventually wink.gif
Wolfie
Coffee does that because it contains a llot of caffeine, which is what keeps you awake. And apparently that's why it's bad for you, you develop a dependence on caffeine or something
Bofra

I know that pretty well smile.gif but thanks for the remainder, it's just caffeine works different on different people, and to me it doesn't affect me much, more that helping me stay awake. However, even though I've been drinking for almost my entire life it doesn't make me automatically an addict, I'm just fine not drinking coffe a day or a week if I must, I don't feel any different. However, as it's a part of my daily habits and I like it I don't see why I should stop, it's not like smoking anyway.

I've become more "immune" to caffeine rather than addict actually, when people say they can't sleep if they drink coffee late at night I, on the other hand, have no problem sleeping, it's just that it prevents me from falling asleep unwillingly smile.gif.
Soulseeker3.0
I can do wel with caffeine, it takes quite a bit to move me into a spaz.. and I have to be with friends and then I just start bouncing on the walls.... which is fun with friends and a waky-talky and an endless stream of songs... good times, goooood times

I sometimes get incredibly horrible headaches too.

I usually end up taking two paracetamol. If I don't take any, it's usually just getting worse slowely until a point where I can't stand the pain anymore. That other day, a sunday night, I had one that got really bad, so I decided to take two paracetamol but to my horror I discovered I didn't have any left. I checked which pharmacies were on emergency duty and was ready to call a taxi (the closest open one was pretty far away), but just as I sat down to look up the number I had another idea of where to check, a last ditch attempt. I was in luck and found the very very last two pills and took them. I spent the next half-hour under the shower to pass the time until the pain went away - that always helps me with headaches, having ho water run over my head.

I just talked to my sister on the phone and she told me she has a headache right now, so I told her to take a pill (she has a headache like once or twice a month), but she said she'd rather not unless it went really bad. Don't get that. It's not like aspirin or paracetamol are really strong medication, and really, taking one or two once or twice a month really can't be bad for you....?

Thanks for the hugs everyone, they helped my head along with about three pills and some ice cream.

I'm usually the same way, increadibly healthy. When I get my like, twice a year migrane, its terrible. My right eye wigs out and starts to lose vision, the pain is localized above my right eye, I get numb to the point of not being able to use my limbs, my brain seems to lack every day intelligence and I become clumbsy and slow with slight hallucinations.

Managed to find myself back to these boards again... Have migrane myself, doesn't come that often but my first encounter was something I doubt I will ever forget. Had to go home from school, sat down on the bed and I really couldn't get rid of the pain and I was about to get some water when I suddently just threw up two bloody times on my way to the kitchen... But damn it can hurt like hell.

As I'm talking a little about pain for the moment, lol we played rugby in the gym today. As a pretty fit person it was very nice to scorer and stuff, but everyone just jumps on you and bites and does what ever means to throw you in the ground. Got two nasty wounds right now, only flesh wounds but they hurt as hell wacko.gif

But it's a great sport, really nice to release some anger on others biggrin.gif

I don't get headaches, sick, or hurt and on rare severe occasions I heal really fast and have off the charts pain tolerance, which is kinda bad b/c I don't always know when I am hurt, like I had to have ear sugery on my right ear that cost me half my hearing in that ear, all because I didn't realize that my Tube had fallen out and that my ear should have been in excrusiating pain and I felt nothing. Last April I was hit by a car at 50 m.p.h. while I was riding my bike I got up and walked away and was moving normal within a week or two (not limping). Still don't have all the muscles fully back to where they were though....slowed my running speed and my ability to run up walls has greatly been deminished.

I'm not a doctor or anything, but I don't see why a couple of aspirins or paracetamol once in a while would be hurtful. However, I you have the habit to take an aspirin everytime you got a slight bit of pain your natural defencesystem would eventually retire and you would become sick a lot more often. It's the same if you never let yourself get a bit sick, like never eating something were it's date of expirement(sp?) has passed (this happenes a lot here in Sweden), the defencesystem will eventually say "why the heck am I doing here? This dude never give us any work" and retire. This, from personal experience.
