You serious? Ugh, I just don't understand the idea of eating raw fish... Tasted sushi once, almost had to spit it out, man, what's the deal?

I wonder if I'd survive in Japan, was actually considering living in Japan for a semester or a year, but now I've shortened the plan to just a month or so. Seems like a really wierd but interesting country.

Not all Sushi is raw. Also, Japan's diet isn't purely Seafood. You can get Burgers and fries, cookies, umm, Burgers.

Mmm, Japanese TV dinners.

Everyone been watching the Olympics lately? Go Canada! Go Canada is undefeated in both men's and woman's hockey and it is believed we're playing Switzerland next, so I wish all the Swiss people of our forum a good game and good luck. Interesting fact, the Olympic white Canada Toques have sold out completely. Every country they've been shipped to, they have been bought out of stock.

I'm not a doctor or anything, but I don't see why a couple of aspirins or paracetamol once in a while would be hurtful. However, I you have the habit to take an aspirin everytime you got a slight bit of pain your natural defencesystem would eventually retire and you would become sick a lot more often. It's the same if you never let yourself get a bit sick, like never eating something were it's date of expirement(sp?) has passed (this happenes a lot here in Sweden), the defencesystem will eventually say "why the heck am I doing here? This dude never give us any work" and retire. This, from personal experience.
You can/could actually run up  walls? ohmy.gif
*

There are more things that expired food that test your defense systems, but I have also seen what you are describing as a theory to be true. And yes I can run up walls, you have to get a running start and then move you momentum into a vertical position....I used to be able to go up about four steps or about ten feet above the ground. now I can barely get the second foot planted before I am falling because I can get the running speed I used too because I couldn't run while I was healing.....lest I risk more serious injury

QUOTE(Red @ Feb 16 2006, 11:42 PM)
Yeah, its probably the terrible weather most of North America is having. Us humans seem to have alot of sensitivity towards the weather system. I only really have migranes during strange weather, like these dragging winters and hot snaps.

I'll take some Green Tea with a nice plate of Ika Sushi. Mmm, Squid.

I think maybe it is like a arthitis on the neck thing? sounds similar in a way. I have some arthitis in my neck from some whiplash when I was a kid and a
"Sun TV" van hit the back of our car.

I love sushi, sashimi, rice, real ramen (not the salty, bland, stuff that was ruined by the mass production theories of America and the assembly line......it's all the same line of thought....but that is the form I can usually afford as an unemployed person..I am a professional college student.)

I got last Friday off for the wind! Hurray!

My personal headache cure probably wouldn't work for anybody else. It's called duct tape. smile.gif My headaches come entirely from my brother and sister, who never stop fighting. Therefore, anything that causes them to shut up works as a temporary cure. So far, I've tried bubble gum (hard to talk/yell while chewing), earplugs (on myself), loud music (for some reason, certain music doesn't give me headaches no matter how loud I play it, so this actually works), but I haven't actually duct taped their mouths shut. smile.gif So far, the best cure is to stay at my dad's house, instead of my mom's. Pretty hard to hear them at that range. smile.gif

I get sick from time to time, but not particularly often. I'm not sure if that's because I don't get sick or because I define 'sick' differently than other people do. To me, I'm not sick unless I can't see, can't speak, can't walk, can't breath, or am having hallucinations. So most of the time that I miss school, it's because I'm tired. The only sickness I get particularly often is pinkeye, which I actually get about as often as a cold or whatever.

Bofra-I had won a chance to go to Japan, for this Student Ambassador program. I couldn't, though, because it was too expensive. sad.gif ($6000) I felt embarrassed even going to the meeting, it was in the rich part of town. Everyone was wearing suits and ties and nice jackets and shined shoes, arrived in fancy cars. There were a few other people from my area there, so it wasn't like we were all alone, but they left pretty fast, too. All the middle class people were out of there the second the meeting was over. But I almost got a chance to go to Japan for two weeks.

You don't have sushi restaurants were you live? There everywere over here, it's kind of "cool" to eat sushi, huh.gif, all this trend stuff....

Kindred: Oh, that was expensive! For my trip I was planning on staying a month but in some sort of "guest houses" for foreigner only, you live very small and with a lot of other people, most of the time with several families living permanently there, but it's cheap biggrin.gif. Eww, trendy food. I eat at a 100% Japenese run Sushi store and order in Japenese. I've been eating Japenese since I was five so trendyness isn't an issue. Too bad about the Japan thing Kindred, thats really terrible.
Kindred Spirit
Eh, I got over it fast. There was no way my family could afford it, so I couldn't go. Besides, ounce for ouce, that six grand would do me more good in my college fund. The trip did sound cool. I found the site for it. Discover the Land of the Rising Sun. All kinds of stuff normal tourists don't get to do, plus the prestige that comes with being in the Student Ambassadors. (makes certain job interviews go much smoother, to say the least) It didn't come out to an even 6 grand, it was like $5750, including the special insurance that lets you not sign the waiver saying that they aren't responsible if I die. That insurance was like $500 on it's own, so maybe I could have gone if I hadn't paid for that. smile.gif

Probably for the best that I'm not going anyways. I'm still traumatized by all the rich people who were there, and the meeting was only an hour or two; I have no idea how I'd last two weeks. smile.gif (joking, obviously; rich people aren't that scary)

To le Minque: Well, that sucks. You should march right up to the highest ranking official you know of and demand that he gives you a high paying cushy job! And if he says no, I'll have some "kind words" with him. Kind words like please and thank you.

Work sux, i know.....qoute from some song...and a reality

Last two times I acctually had a "job" I lost money in the process, that is why I am a professional student now. I got hit by a car at one, giving me about $1,500 in bills coming home from work at a job I made $800 in totality, granted that about 300 of said bills were paid by the state, and it would have been muchmuch much worse if I hadn't had medical insurance at the time.
The job before that the cost of operations just didn't work out to be less than the income generated from it, so that job I quit after bout 2 months or so....I liked the work...just not the pay.

I've been fine. I'm a boring person, just been hanging out with friends and stuff. And attempting to prove that sleep is for the weak. Hasn't worked yet, but at least I haven't gone...er...more insane. smile.gif I'm thinking about trying to get a job. Not that I need the money, exactly, but it'll give me something to do. Ane the money would be nice too. smile.gif

I need it to fix up one of my dad's cars. He told me I could have the pick of the cars he doesn't drive anymore, if I help get them fixed up. My choices are a Mitsubishi Eclipse (1998, I believe, and probably too broken to fix), an Alpha Romeo (forget the year, has transmission problems), and a '68 Satelite. (needs new paint job and brakes, among other various repairs I'm sure it will need) Or, if I don't feel like fixing up one of his old cars, I need the money to buy a car from somewhere else. Other options I'm considering right now: My mom's boyfriend knows people who want to get rid of their cars. Working condition muscle cars, under $400 bucks. Need new tires and a bit of other minor work, but mostly in good shape. They're cheap because the owners just want to get rid of them. The other option is my friend knows someone who sells used cars for a living, so I can get a working condition car from there for a decent price. Alternatively, I can buy one of the many "just barely running" cars that are in the neighborhood. There's always at least one for sale. I won't be able to drive yet, but I figure I should buy the car early, and start saving up for the car insurance. (I'm a teen male, won't be cheap)

There are other things I could use the money for, but that's one of the main things.

Oh, I don't know, probably when I've decided whether or not the story will keep my interest smile.gif .Well, just a little more editing and I'll have my rough version done (I'm such a perfectionist) and then the first chapter will be up. I've decided to make the main character one of my lesser favourite races (after Redguards, Nords, Argonians and Khajiits), a Dunmer.

Today I've been listening to a lot of music and a lot more t.v then my usual 2 hours for I have nothing to do. Hopefully tomorrow bodes better for me.

EDIT!!! If by 68' Sattelite you mean 68' Plymouth Sattelite, I say go for the Sattlite Kindred. That or the muscle cars biggrin.gif .

Yep. It's a cherry red (so it matches your name biggrin.gif) 1968 Plymoth Sattelite. That's the car I planned on fixing up, anyways. Bit of a gas guzzler, but most definitely a cool car. Besides, I won't have too far to go, anyways, I won't need a whole lot of gas. I'm sure than once I'm able to drive, I'm going to be chained to my house, courtesy of my mother. or maybe put in a cage. smile.gif For some reason, she doesn't like the idea of me driving....especially that car.

The muscle cars were cool too, I've seen them. Don't remember what kind of cars they were, it was kinda dark. But I could see enough to know that they were cool. And in the end, that's what really matters, right? smile.gif

Yeah as long as the car looks cool, like, say, a cherry red 68 Plymouth Sattelite does, then who cares about anything else about it? No door? Easier to get into. No seats? Sitting is for conformists. No windshield? Then its a convertable. biggrin.gif

Got a point there. I wasn't planning to use the brakes a whole lot anyways... I mean, yes I was. (my insurance premiums just doubled when I said that, I needed to cut them back down)

The car certainly looks cool. I'll probably have to fix the brakes before I drive it, though. smile.gif And put more air in the tires. And pass my driver's test, I suppose. smile.gif Maybe give it another coat of paint. But the important things are that it looks cool, and that if I crash with anything short of a Hummer, I'll be fine due to the fact that the car is solid metal. Well, not solid metal, I guess, but it's made out of metal instead of plastic, and it's a very durable car. Now, I might die if I crash (of course, I'll try to avoid that...), but the car itself will be fine. And that's the important thing.

Oh, that and the fact that me driving it will give my mother heart attacks. Hmm...maybe I should wait untill I'm old enough to inherit.... Just kidding, any inheritance I get from my mother will be limited to notes nagging me about things, my other relatives will get all of the moola, I expect. (yep, all $2.40) Plus, I don't particularly want my mom to die... so I guess I'll have to convince her to buy a cellphone so she can dial 911. smile.gif

Well, the Prom problem is just a shadow my other one.

Its been a exetremely trying time. One of my friends was killed last thursday night in a car crash..

He was a great guy too, only 16 years old.. Hell I don't think I'd ever seen him without a smile. So yea, I've been kinda upset lately.

Topple that all up with me making a 70 in english.. For the love of god, I've only been taking english for 11 years, why in the world should this year be different?

Yea, so alot has been happening. I'm just gonna play it cool.

I would try to take one of my friends to prom... but all my friends have dates.. so yea. w00t to being the 5th wheel!

EDIT: Edit yes gamer, you do have to be 21 to drink in NC... But when has that stopped anyone?

EDIT 2: Well we only have the prom at our school Wolfie so... Anyways we Americans love to have a good time.

EDIT 3: Heh, I'd take that offer up Minque if those were the circumstances. What state is Ann Arbor anyways?
jchamber
wow there is so much in here I feel I should comment on....first off about legal drinking age, in my area it's 18 but I don't know anyone who hadn't been offered a drink or two by sixteen and by eighteen most of the people I knew had been drunk at least once, I haven't ever been drunk because i am kinda paranoid about losing my senses...I hate having to sleep as it is...do you know how vulnerable you are then? I don't like it.

regarding g-friend, grrats oh great choatic recluse Intestine, lol. gl man.

I went to my own prom with little fuss, didn't much care for it but was glad I went because we had a blast at a local exercise/recreation place for our afterprom. btw I went to prom alone, and I didn't mind much....I don't like dancing....I did dance for two songs with female friends I had who didn't want me to be sad later, lol. I kinda liked the one, but she was going out with one of my best friends....so that's a no-no, lol. They broke up after he lived with me for two weeks and went into the service (longer story), and I still didn't ask her out but I still don't regret it.....I suppose I live without regrets for the most part. I always think out major choices from multiple points of view and make the choice that I can live with and accept as the best option at the time. That sounds coldly logical, but one of the points of veiw I make sure to check is the emotional view.

ok..what else here...I am bored hearing about america stuff, ...and I live here. I find Japan a much more interesting country. So I simpithize with you Wolfie. Ammonia is boring too, lol. btw i never went to any other dance function except my aunt's wedding...and that's different, so I don't have pointless dancing functions like most Americans, most of who are acctually like me in that regard.

Sorry about your friend channler, when i was in high school one of my friends almost died by getting hit by a semi moving at 50 mph that was moving perpendicular to him, he was in a wheelchair, cast up and down with wire shuting his mouth for around two months and then had to go through alot of rehab. So I have an idea of what is would be like. regarding English...English is the toughest language on earth, save maybe having to memorize all the 2000 some characters in the orient.

lol Ann Arbor is either in Maine or Europe. not sure which, lol. You will have to guess that it's not North Carolina though....actually I don't live too far from you, but I am a guy without trasportation...and besides I don't swing that way....lmao.

Anyway I hope things will start going up for you. You seem to have run the three-bad-thing guantlet
Channler

Ahhhrr that is very sad about your friend! Funny, I´ve been told it´s extremely safe to drive in US.....you all drive very carefully, but I suppose car-crashes happens anyway... sad.gif

Oh and Ann Arbor is in Michigan!

Only like, 3 months friend. 3 months. I've been playing alot of European handball at school, so I'm happy as the metaphorical clam. I was promised goalie for this term, and I just love this position. I usually play goalie or forward, because I like being depended on and in on the action, but this year I'm felling saucy tongue.gif . Also, I've been getting easy to accomplish, insanely quick essays that count for alot of my marks. I love when teachers test cram. biggrin.gif

Well, I worked out a deal with some people at the game store, I'll be getting Oblivion either on or a day or two after it goes on shelves. evillol.sml.gif

When I do recieve Oblivion I'll be quitting the forum for a number of monthes, until I feel I have learned enough about the game (most likely after beating it a number of times).

All is well in Gavin land.
Wurlon
I'm still alive.

Well, I cant agree totally with that stomach ache...i will still visit this forums, though I will play oblivion for some six7seven hours a day. I mean oblivion...it's like the holy grail to us fans...at least thats the way I feel.

Me too. I could afford the game the second it comes out, but my pc won't run it. I won't be able to afford a better pc untill at least a month after I get a job, if I save every penny. My dad found a 400 dollar pc in a magazine that will wun Oblivion with less than 200 dollars of upgrades. At minumum wage (almost definitely what I'll be making if/when I get a job) I'll make about a hundred dollars a week. (not bad pay, considering I don't have to live off it) I've got some money saved up now ($200), but I figure I probably won't be saving every penny I make. So I won't be getting OB when it's brand new, I'll probably be here every now and then afterwards.

Yeah, I'll be saving up for the game and my new pc myself. Oooh, big deal, I'm all res-pon-si-ble now. smile.gif (I use that word so infrequently that I had to sound it out to spell it right biggrin.gif)

There aren't too many jobs around for kids my age. Basically, there are two. Tops (a supermarket- stockboy, bagboy, etc...) and Lucky's. (a resaurant- washing dishes, bussing tables, etc...)
Tellie
Poor you Kindred...but if I had to choose between those two jobs, I would take the supermarket, as I wash enough dishes at home..
Channler
Re..spon..soo.. GAWD! Its too hard... can't say it.

Anyways I feel yea Kindred.. If I win the lottery like I plan on I'll be sure to send you enough money to buy a new computer.

Me, I got lucky. I consider myself a venture capitalist.

When my dad owned his business, I, instead of paying me money, he kept it. However, the deal I worked with him worked that if I did all the work he requested, I wouldn't get a penny of what I earned. Instead I would let him have my money, spend it as he pleased, and then later I would be able to request me money. But this is after some interest/

That little deal went on for a while, and from it I got quite a bit of money.. it worked out to be 3k plus.. Not bad for 11 year old.

Now I got a real job and I work at my mothers business (Hah, I'd like someone to call my family communists biggrin.gif). So both of those part time jobs provide me with a steady income. sad.gif, however, that means I got to pay for just about every I want.. IE, clothes (certians kinds), food when I'm not with my family, gas, insurance, and a few other things.

So i guess it evens out. But I'm trying to get a loan from parents to by some land up in halifax county. Dollywood is coming to NC, and think of all the business that will follow?

Oh jeeze.. thats a long post

Oh yes, with more money comes more expenses, it's always like that. I thought that 50 bucks whas a huge load of money when I was 12 years old, I could do whatever I wanted with that. Eventually you begin to earn more and more money and the hobbies becomes more and more expensive (as you CAN have more expensive hobbies). Then you get a job and with it comes the res-pon-sa-bi-li-ties, or something like that, so you end up burning a whole bunch of money on stuff you never even thought of when you had that 50 bucks 10 years ago...

But in the end, if you'r considerate with where you use the money, it always pays up to have a job. I work part-time at night in a restaurant every two weekends and get some nice cash from it, then since I still live at my parents home (let's hope I get away from here soon.... wink.gif) my expenses only includes travel-tickets, clothing and other stuff of selfinterest. Therefore I CAN afford a nice 1500$ upgrade of my PC and oblivion CE when it comes out biggrin.gif:D:D.
