Description:
The sphere of Molag Bal is the domination and enslavement of mortals; his desire is to harvest the souls of mortals and to bring mortals souls within his sway by spreading seeds of strife and discord in the mortal realms. He is considered to be one of the more demonic Daedric Princes, and he prefers to employ Lesser Daedra to carry out his plans.
In Morrowind, where he is always said to be the archnemesis of Boethiah, the calculating and fearsome Molag Bal is a very important Daedric Prince, since he is the main source of the obstacles to the Dunmer (and preceding Chimer) people. In Dunmer legends, Molag Bal always tries to upset the bloodlines of Houses or otherwise ruin the Dunmer gene pool and 'purity'.
History:
A race of supermonsters, said to live in Molag Amur, are supposedly the result of Molag Bal's seduction of Vivec during the previous era.
In Daggerfall, the player summoned Molag Bal and received a quest from the Daedric Prince. After finishing this quest, the player received the Mace of Molag Bal as a reward. In Morrowind, the player once again received the Mace of Molag Bal after doing a quest for the Daedric Prince.
