Description:
Mephala is a manifold and androgynous Daedric Prince/ss, whose sphere is obscured to mortals and whose only consistent theme seems to be interference in the affairs of mortals for his/her amusement; he/she, however, is associated with Murder, Sex and Secrets. All these themes contain subtle aspects and violent ones (assassination/genocide, courtship/orgy, tact/poetic truths), and Mephala is understood paradoxically to contain and integrate these contradictory themes.
While Mephala does grow stronger with every murder committed in her name, certain murders are better than others. Murders that come from hate please Mephala more than murders committed because of greed. Murders of great men and women please Mephala more than murders of relative unknowns.
History:
Mephala is said to have showed the Chimer the rules of the Psijic Endeavor together with Boethiah, and to have helped create the Chimer society by teaching them the skills they would need to evade their enemies or to kill them with secret murder. He/she founded the Morag Tong and together with Boethiah organized the clan systems that eventually became the basis for the Great Houses.
Much later, Mephala made a deal with Sanguine for twenty seven tokens that she could give to her devoted followers. The Dark Brotherhood stole these tokens from the Morag Tong, but Mephala arranged for them to return to Vvardenfell one by one.
In Daggerfall, the player summoned this Prince/ss and received the Ebony Blade as a reward for a quest, and in Morrowind the player did a quest for the Prince/ss and received the Ring of the Khajiiti as a reward.
