"Jonacin!" Sel shouted after putting all the items in his pack.

He went over to where he and Serene were sitting and smiled. "I have something for you."

He rummaged around in his pack. "Where the hell is it...ah!"

He handed Jonacin an amulet. "I negates the curse on that sword of yours."

He looked to Serene. "Here's yours." he said, putting a bracelet in her hand. "It gives your spells a piercing effect - they should pierce through Arcyakt's defenses, but it will take quite a bit of willpower to do so."

He looked around for someone else...

Konrad awoke in a dingy room, the light from the torch doing its best to stay flickering. Konrad sneered and walked out, noticing Sel on the floor.

"Had any good ideas yet?" he asked.

Jonacin looked at the amulet Sel had just handed him. He shrugged and put it on, figuring that if it didn't work he'd find out pretty quickly.

Anthanes looked at Sel in obvious surprise.

"Where in the voidstreams did you get those items from?! I could spend a lifetime just researching a theory on how to create them and it wouldn't even work at that!"

"I made it in about three minutes." Sel said to Anthanes with a wink.

"Here's yours." he said tossing him a ring. "Does the same as Serene's."

Konrad shrugged as he was ignored by Sel, and walked over to the door, opening it and looking outside. "It's a nice day." he commented, popping his head back in.

Anthanes took the ring and put it on the finger next to the one on which he wore the reflecting one. "Thank you" , the battlemage muttered as he stroked the ring.

"Where the hell did Konrad go? I have his..." Sel said. "Whatever, I'll give it to him later."

"Who else?" he asked himself, trying to remember what the other items did and who they were for.

Konrad ordered three flins at the bar and walked back to the others, throwing one each to Sel and Anthanes and drinking his.

"Ah, there he is" , Anthanes said with a grin as he took the flin. He needed to get his mind off things, and getting stone drunk was one way to do it. Maybe he'd invent another ground breaking spell like he did some time ago.

"Thanks." Sel said, putting the flin down so he could get out Konrad's gem.

"Here." he said, tossing him a gem. "It will strengthen your sword and make it magically sharp."

Konrad caught it and put it in his pocket, wondering if that would now strengthen his sword.

"So you think m sword was blunt before or something??" he asked, confused. He drew his sword andlooked at it awkwardly.

Anthanes got up briskly. Bah... I am not going to drown my worries, this time... No knowing what I may blurt out...

"Well, I had better get prepared. Yes." The half-dunmer strode out of the tavern and went to the local armorer - only to find it closed. He dropped his gaze on an ebony longsword on display inside, wondering why it had not yet been stolen. The battlemage then looked at the thick, magical lock on the door. He smirked and began chanting - it was for a good cause. "V'laash leshkat." The lock snapped and the half-dunmer hurried into the smithy, taking the longsword before closing the door again. He went into his mage guild room, taking out a powerful soulgem.

"Let's see about enchanting this..." , he said absently. He began whispering spells to the weapon, drawing upon the essence of the soultrapped creature to make them lasting. Before long, he had woven a powerful Paralyzing enchantment into the sword. A series of daedric runes appeared on the blade:



Anthanes read the runes, translating them mentally. 'Fearstruck'. A good name for a sword. The battlemage sighed as he layed down on his bed, rather tired and having lots on his mind.

Jonacin drew the sword he wore, and examined the blade closely. Just above the hilt he saw an engraving. It simply said "Behold ye the Blade of Eternal Ice".

"Certainly a fitting name for this weapon", he thought

Serene thanked Sel and put on the bracelet...it was humming with enchantment and she smiled.....Now the "Vomica Cruor really should do it´s task.

She stroke the daedric runes engraved on it and closedher eyes for a second.

Jonacin seemed a bit distant at the moment......what was wrong with him? What was he thinging about?

Konrad just noticed Serene, her figure not noticeable in the crowded pub. "Do you want a drink Serene?" he called, sheathing his sword and finishing his Flin.

Jonacin sighed and leaned back in his seat.

"I wonder how long we can hold out here. We have a lot of men and are well supplied, but Arcyatk can simply repair any of his troops that aren't utterly obliterated, and he can raise our losses to fight against us. As we lose men, he gains men. The best we can do is hold the walls and hope for the best"

Anthanes sighed as he layed down on his bed. He couldn't really catch sleep. He had much to think about.

Ironic. We're preparing for a last stand against the evil of Arcyakt, and I am threatening to fall in love - in love of all things! - with a werewolf... I prolably won't even survive. Actually, I will. In any decent adventure novel, the hero survives, slaying the villain, getting the female love interest, and then becoming either glorified or fading into obscurity. Hrm... As long as the first two... *mental sigh* three, rather seem to be true, then... Bah. I can worry about that later...

[ooc: Serene, if you want to, detectez-this.]

After a day of wandering around Otik stopped into The Rat in The Pot and sighted his friends He walked over to the bar and ordered some Matze(sp?) and went over to sit by his friends. "So hows everone doing? Any new ideas?"

Serene accepted almost happily the drink Konrad offered, glad to see him not hating her anymore.

As she sipped her drink, she noticed Jonacin sitting deeply thinking about something

"I wonder how long we can hold out here. She looked at him, scared.....if he was pessimistic........she shrugged..and then she received some other thoughts......apparently coming from Anthanes from the sound of the voice inside her head..

"Werewolf"??? Serene gasped for her breath.....she´d never imagined that.....

Konrad went to find Anthanes, leaving the inn and oging to the street. He breathed deeply and smelt the freshness in the air of pre-battle.

Where would Anthanes be...

He looked round, then noticed the armourer's window bare. He had expected someone would take that sword. He slowly also noticed that the door was open.

Wait, i checked that door. It was locked tight!

Deciding to go to the mages guild where he had first found him Konrad entered, entered Anthanes room then searched the floor.

Finding the trapdoor he stampped on it 3 times.

[ooc: Anthanes was on his bed in the regular room]

Anthanes looked at Konrad as he approached. Managing to give him a slightly smile, he got up, into a sitting position. "Is there something you need.. ?"

Konrad stopped his stamping abruptly, turning to see Anthanes watching him.

"Uh..I was just coming to find the blade you stole! I know you took it." Konrad told him, drawing his blade. It wasn't his fault he was drunk.

OOC: I dunno Minque, Serene can pick up on that one if you want

IC: Jonacin sat forward again. He took a deep swig from his drink, and rose to his feet. He left the bar again. As he walked through the streets, he was deep in thought, barely paying attention to where he went.

"I have to stop thinking about the bad side of things. We may be outnumbered, but these men are fighting for their families and homes. Arcytk's are merely souless machines who will only fight as they are commanded, without passion or belief. And his human followers fight only for glory and power."

Anthanes sighed as he got up, drawing Fearstruck. "Well, that is correct, but it's for a good cause. Had your eyes on it...? Or what is the actual reason for this visit?"

Konrad prepared himself for a fight, getting into the desired position.

"I came here to...to...well, I can't quite remember. But all that matters now is that you put that sword back!" he cried, charging at Anthanes.


OOC:I know he didn't, that is why my post says the door is unlocked. Strange person.

"You're" Anthanes moved to parry Konrad's blow with his blade, creating a satisfying old fashion metallic clank "drunk, Konrad. What's bad about a theft when it might help delay the doom of us all?" As he said this he gave Konrad a glancing cut, not enough to seriously wound him but enough to make the paralyzation magic work.

Konrad continued on, feeling a slight shock in his side. He toppled over onto the bed, but laughed.

"Hehe, not as drunk as you might wish, thief. I knew I was versing a mage, therefore I drunk the necessary potions all acquired from the abandoned shop. though I didn't expect it to come from a pointy thing." he told him.

Konrad got up again, jumping from the bed and trying to aim a blow straight down for Anthanes head, but missing him by about half a metre and falling to the floor.

Anthanes quickly jumped onto Konrad, keeping him on the floor as he attempted to pry the sword from his hands. "This is why I discourage teen drinking" , he muttered.

Konrad growled as his sword was taken away from him, aiming a punch at Anthanes' nose.

"Oomph!" , Anthanes exclaimed as blood trickled down his nose. "You little..."

If that ring can allow my spells to pierce Arcyakt's defenses, I can certainly pierce through that little brat's...

"V'laash nekova sharmatzkam" , Anthanes chanted, casting a paralyzing spell on Konrad and putting his force of will into the spell.

Serene saw Jonacin walk out of the bar......she read his mind as clearly as if it had been a book..and it made her think.....Jonacin was right, they have to think about the people of Ald´ruhn the innocent ones who most probably would be wiped out if Arcyakt conquered the town

She rose her arms above her head and called for Azura...in her mind..

OOC: I edited a previous post so that Sel gets something other than invisibility - that would make for a boring fight...he has something similar to Konrad's...

Sel sat down with his stone and pulled out his sword. How did this work again?

He activated the stone, just as he would his amulet, and pressed it against the blade.

The blade absorbed the stone and Sel watched as the green glow of his sword intensified, bathing the entire room in green.

When it diminished, Sel decided to test out his newly enhanced sword.

Fenris raised a eyebrow. "So, what do i get? That mage bragged about being capable of repelling my Thu'um, so i hope you got something for that..." Fenris said with a grin.

"Good guess." Sel said, pulling out an odd orange stone for Fenris.

But just before giving it to him, he pulled it back. "But do you trust anything that a demon gave you?" Sel asked with an impish grin, referring to what Fenris always called Azura.

"I mean, you may not want it..."

"I know the nature of Daedric Princes. They work for their own goals. Her goals just happen to coincide with ours," Fenris said with a grin. "The Demon just needs some people to do her dirty work. I trust this it em because she's not liable to destroy those who are doing her a favor."

"Thats just dumb."

Sel shrugged. Fenris really could ruin a joke, even though Sel agreed completely.

He tossed him the stone. "You'll have to shout pretty hard a few times, Azura said - it doesn't automatically get past Arcyakt..."

Fenris nodded. "Thats all i have to do, hold this and shout a few times?" he asked. "Or do i need to do something else first?"

Jonacin came out of his revery and looked around. He had walked to the opposite side of the town. He turned and began walking back to the bar. As he did so, he decided to see just how thoroughly the sword froze whatever it struck. He hit a small plant nearby, and watched as it crusted over with ice. He snapped off a branch, it was frozen completely through and broke into fragments when he tapped it off a wall. Upon seeing this, an idea sprang into being in his mind

"That's what I understood." Sel answered.

Konrad glared at Anthanes from his paralyzed body, wishing Sel hadn't given out the items so quickly.

Damn you....you feith!

Otik saw Sel toss a stone at Frenis and walked oveer, "heh so do I get anything?"

Anthanes slung Konrad over his shoulder, straightening himself up a bit then left the building. Entering the Rat in the Pot, he walked up to Serene. His nose still bleeding "Konrad's drunk. And the little brat's been causing trouble. Speaking of that, can you heal this?" The battlemage pointed to the wound on his nose. It then dawned to him that Serene'd prolably been able to hear his thoughts all along, including the internal debate about the merits of falling in love with a lycanthrope while one's doom is possibly impending.

Konrad stared at Anthanes' back, attempting to struggle against the paralyzation. He failed miserably, not moving in the slightest.

OOC: Anyone know the name of that city that was in snow? And is it endlessly in snow?

Serene shook her head hearing that Konrad was drunk, that was nothing they needed..not now anyway.

She put her hand gently over Anthanes nose healing it quickly...

"There my friend, " she said giving hi a queer look, "Mind your bleeding if you are together with a were....." she stopped, blushing,

"Damn it, he doesn´t like me knowing what he thinks"

Then suddenly a realisation came to her......Jonacin! He got an idea ..she could feel him being more cheerful than before...

"I wonder where he is" she thought...

"A were-what?" , Anthanes asked, brow raised. Hrm... Damn. So she knows... Of course. Hi, Serene. Like my thoughts? His skin got slightly darker. "Please finish what you were going to say, Serene." , he said in a rather cold tone of voice.

Konrad tried to struggle once more, but the overwhelming effects of the spell held him.

Let me go, you stupid wizard! Look, you've sobered me up enough with this little stunt...but you are still a thief! Give it back!

Anthanes snapped his fingers, releasing the magical bonds on Konrad.

"Don't try that again. The owner's fled for who knows where anyway."

Konrad fell to the floor in a heap, then stood up quicly and drew his sword. Realising he was in a pub with many people he sheathed it again.

What Serene needs a cure for idiocism, then Anthanes might be able to get healed fully...

"Nevermind Anthanes" she said regretfully, I couldn´t help knowing what you thought before..you see it´s like waves of sound oozing right into my head, is like ...like you were telling me...just like that!...It is really a curse.....believe me 'i´d rather not have that ability..."



Serene just gave Konrad a stern look.....did not bother to answer at all, such stupid thought were best left alone.....
