Kiln walked to the Silt Strider port but along the way he also noticed a small cave nearby so he went to investigate. Upon entering he realized that the cave had no residents, it was completely empty.
He struck a flame and lit a torch that was lying on the ground. The light illuminated the room, revealing an old fireplace and a boat lying on the ground in the first room. There were also bones littering the cave floor. Kiln thought very little of this and continued on to the next area.
This room was much larger than the previous and had two seperate passages, one leading up into the top of the cave, and one leading deeper. First he went left, up to an old wooden door which he slowly pushed open. The torch revealed several metal objects lying on the ground, Kiln approached them unsure of what they were.
After examining the objects it was clear that they were slave bracers. He wondered why there were no bodies of the slaves, had someone let them free? He left the room and went down the stairway into the bottom levels of the cavern. Two more skeletons lined the floor of the cave. Apparently someone had in fact freed the slaves and killed their owners.
Kiln found a bedroll covered in dust and wiped it off, sitting down for a break. He looked found a lantern that hadn't been lit and used the flame from his torch to light it so that he could see what he was doing. He opened the journal and read the entry.
"After asking around I found that the tax collector had previously been arguing with Foryn Gilnith. I will confront him about it today."
Kiln stopped and thought for a moment about the carvings on the door of the old shack, they had read Foryn Gilnith.
"I confronted Foryn Gilnith and he openly admits killing the tax collector. He claimed that the tax collector was overcharging them on their taxes and keeping the difference for himself. I found this hard to believe and told him that I was going to report him to the guards. He then attacked me. I couldn't wrestle my blade from it's pouch and both of us fought by hand in the dirt floor of the shack."
Kiln was finally beginning to realize just what had happened inside the small shack. Starving for more, he read on.
"He was strong and managed to take me down to the floor, beating me senseless. But sometime during the conflict I rolled over on top of him and got a hold of his throat. He was unforgiving and would've killed me if I hadn't got a hold of my blade. After drawing my blade he backed off and I gave him one more chance to come willingly. He refused and charged me, the fight had come to a halt."
Tiren had killed Foryn Gilnith in his home. The journal had revealed exactly what happened there. Foryn obviously had believed in what he was doing if he charged Tiren while he had a sword out.
Kiln would read more of the journal when he had time but first he would return to Balmora and sleep at his favorite inn. He couldn't bare to sleep in the shack with newfound knowledge of what had happened there.

Kiln arrived at the Silt Strider port in Balmora, and continued onward to Eight Plates. Once he had arrived there he rented the room and took off his armor and heavy belongings, lying them in the floor. He then walked back upstairs and ordered three huge mugs of Mazte. The taste was horrible but the effect was as desired.
He wanted to forget about all the strange coincidences had occurred. Why had he slept in the shack in which Tiren had killed Gilnith? What had happened in the bandit cave? He had no clue why he was subconsciously visiting all the places Tiren had been. The only thing he knew was he was about to get drunk, very drunk.
After downing the mugs he continued to drink. He talked with the bar's patrons about what had happened. He usually tried to remain without emotion as he had been taught by his father but the recent events and mugs of ale his emotion came out. He sat laughing and joking with the other two regulars and suddenly the happiness left him and was replaced by emptyness. He sat with the other drunks telling them about the journal and they acted as if they understood.
Kiln was glad to tell someone else about the journal even if he knew they really had no idea what he was talking about and didn't really care for that matter.
Nevertheless his emotions were uncontrollable and he fluctuated between happiness and slowly it faded into depression. He stumbled to the door tripping over himself all the while but he remained on his feet. He opened the door and stepped around the corner, removing all of the booze from his body with a few heaves and went back into the inn.
As he had hoped, he couldn't remember what he'd tried to forget and he returned to the table. After a few minutes of listening to the other drunks, he passed out and dreams came to him. In his dreams he saw his father, his voice was deep and slow but at the same time comforting. His father told him to follow his feet and they would lead him to what he had been looking for.
But his father walked away before his eyes. Kiln tried to run after him and keep up but though he ran as fast as he could he did not move. In despair he fell to the ground and yelled at the top of his voice.
Dulnea was yelling at him to wake up and violently shaking him. A cold sweat covered his entire body as he laid on the stone floor. He slowly returned to consciousness, still shaking and afraid.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
And that my friends is the effect of too much Mazte.

He sat up and looked around. The two men were staring at him but as soon as they realized he was waking up they went back to laughing and joking. Dulnea helped him downstairs to the room and put him to bed.
The next morning he sat up from the bed, though he regretted it afterwards. In just a moment after sitting up he laid back down on the bed and decided it would be best not to move. He couldn't remember what had happened the night before but what he did know was that a severely painful headache and nausea kept him from wanting to do anything. Though he wanted to sleep it was very obvious that it was impossible with such a bad hangover.
He rose from the bed very slowly and put his feet on the floor. Standing and remaining standing was a challenge of it's own. He stood and slowly walked upstairs, each step caused a sharp pain in his head. It was pointless to ask what had happened because he already knew he had drank too much the night before.
After nearly half of the day he strangely wanted to read the journal once again. He sat in one of the barstools and opened the journal.
"I thought I would feel bad after taking the life of another person but strangely I don't. I feel a little bad about what happened but is killing a murderer all that bad? Were my actions justified? I was given permission to kill him by the head of the census office, but how was it any different than when Gilnith killed the tax collector? Well at least I've finally found something I'm good at."
The last line disturbed Kiln but he understood that he had killed Gilnith in self defense and Gilnith's death was warranted. But Tiren was probably excited to find that he had a good skill even if it was killing. Kiln continued reading the journal.
"I reported to Socucious and he paid me quite a large sum of money for the resolve of the murder. I went to the tradehouse to look around for something to spend my earnings on but there was nothing too interesting there. Though I did hear rumor of a bandit cave at the edge of town. I'll have to check into that."
Kiln expected that Tiren had killed the bandits at the cave. He had been drawn there just as he had been drawn to Foryn Gilnith's little shack. Kiln still thought it strange that he had followed Tiren's path inadvertantly but tried to convince himself that it was a mere coincidence.
He quit reading the journal, his head still pounded and he could read no more so he ordered a drink, he ordered water this time.

The lesson is, it's just never a good idea to drink more alchohol when you've got a hangover.

J/K Drinking is okay...overdrinking is bad.
I do not in any way support teenage drinking. It is bad and will destroy your life.

After finishing his drink, Kiln left the building towards the upper part of town. It was time for some new clothes. The two sets of clothing he had were worn and though he washed them often, were beginning to smell quite awful. Kiln was short of money though and decided to try and get a little discount on some of the items in the local clothing shop owned by Milie Hastien.
Entering through the front wouldn't be very subtle of him so he looked for an alternate route. After inspecting the building carefully he saw the balcony which was undoubtably out of reach to him. He climbed the stairs to the upper entrance to the alchemist's shop and looked around carefully to ensure he wasn't being observed.
Kiln walked along the edge of the building and lept to the balcony of the clothing shop. He struggled to pull himself up and wished he didn't have on the heavy chestplate.
Kiln worried he was taking too long and would be caught by the guards but strangely the patrol the mansions rather than keep a close eye on the shops in the area. Finally he pulled himself up enough to get his foot onto the edge and get onto the balcony.
He sat down once he was finally at his destination to rest for a moment before entering. He also removed his chestplate in order to maintain as close to silence in the store as possible.
Kiln searched the upstairs of the building and there were plenty of valuable things there but he had not come to take things because they were expensive. Kiln never took more than he needed and what he needed was clothing.
From the top floor Kiln could hear two women talking and joking.
He slowly made his way to the stairs and peered to the right side of the stairway. Milie, the store owner and the Imperial girl, Serene were both sitting talking.
There was no way he could steal any clothing today with two women here so his plot had been foiled. He was desperate for clothing and might have tried to wait until Milie had gone into the storage room and made a dash for the clothing on the counter and shelves had Serene not been there.
Though she looked kind and caring, she also looked as if she had a rough side to her and she likely would have fought him if he were to try and take some clothing from the place. And so his plan to get new clothing had failed and he would return on another day.
He went back to the balcony and grabbed his chestplate. The guards saw him on the rooftop and ran towards the outside of the shop. They surrounded the building and the two women inside were still oblivious to what was happening just outside.
Kiln had to think fast or he would be captured by the guards.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It was quite apparent to the guards what he was doing there, one of them had seen him climbing the balcony and he warned the others. Kiln lept to the roof next to him and quickly dropped off the side of the building letting himself slide down the hillside onto the ground.
He landed on his stomach and struggled to get to his feet quickly. He ran down a nearby hill surpassing the stairway and continuing to run towards the river. The drop off that led into the river was ahead of him and without thinking he jumped in, landing in the shallowest part in town.
He hurt his leg when he landed and couldn't stand so he slid on top of a mound of mud sticking above the water. The guards finally reached the edge, realizing he had been hurt they took their time in getting down to him.
His weapon was taken and he was stripped of his chestplate. At least he had put up a fight before being captured, that's how he thought of it anyways but the guards felt differently about the matter and were enraged that he hadn't stopped when asked.
The guards bound his hands and forced him to walk to the imperial fort and jail just outside of town. He felt the reprocussions of running from them as they violently escorted him to their destination, if he didn't keep pace with the guards then they hit him in the back and side of the head. Every step felt horrible as he felt the bone shift in his leg, he was sure it was broken now.
He finally arrived at the jail and was locked away before a healer was sent to look at his leg. His belongings had been taken from him and only the clothes he had wanted so badly to rid himself of were with him.
He wasn't sure when he would be released and he had no regrets about running he wished only one thing, that the river had been deeper where he had jumped in.

Some time had passed with Kiln moaning and moving about his cell trying to find a comfortable position but it was becoming increasingly clear that there was no comfort with a broken leg.
The healer finally came in to tend to his leg, she was quite friendly and explained how she would help him. The Hlaulu guards from Balmora joked with the Imperial guards about how Kiln had hurt himself attempting to escape from them. They also joked about how he smelled and how his clothes were ragged and torn. The laughing enraged Kiln but he couldn't move, the walk to the fort had taken the fight out of him. Finally the healer was ready to begin.
The healer lied her hands on his leg and he felt a deep burning sensation move through him. It was not painful nor was it incredibly enjoyable, it was somewhere in between. The healer chanted the indistinctive words to the healing spell he felt the bone moving but it was not enough.
She told him the bone would have to be moved back into it's place manually and only then could she mend the broken bones. Kiln agreed and she motioned to a guard, after breifly speaking to the guard he said he would help.
The guard removed his helmet and kneeled down, this particular man was different than the others and seemed more friendly and compassionate. He had not joked and laughed with the others about what had happened to Kiln. He slowly lifted Kiln's broken leg and the healer put a large object fashioned from cork into his mouth.
The guard's face was filled with regret and he slowly twisted the leg into the position. Kiln bit hard down on the hard piece of cork he had been given and though he had tried to resist yelling he was unable. He let out a loud howl as the bones in his leg were slowly painfully realigned.
The pain faded as the healer mumbled more words under her breath and moved her hands through the air. The guard stood and watched carefully as the healer helped him. There was something about the guard that seemed familiar, relief washed over Kiln and the guard waited in a chair outside his cell.

Just got done browsing over the Mystery unleashed RP and I want to update now.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kiln lied in his cell for a while before asking one of the guards for the journal to read while he was here. The guard laughed at him for wanting to read and went to get the journal.
While he was gone Kiln peered out of his cell around the room looking for a possible escape route but there was none. He heard two men talking about an honored guest and wondered what they were going on about so he listened closely. They talked about the thefts Kiln had commited before being caught and he felt strangely good.
He was somewhat famous among the guards for all the cleverly executed thefts he had commited. He'd only taken what he needed though, he wished the law was more understanding on such matters. They expect people that can't afford food and clothes to simply do without.
Kiln was proud of himself for being so renowned of a thief but at the same time he was unhappy as he had accumulated over eight hundred gold worth of theft charges. He would be here for quite some time.
Finally the guard arrived with the journal and handed it to him through the barred window on the door. Kiln opened it and read the next entry.
"I've decided not to explore the bandit cave today, I will return another time but for now I will go to Balmora and look around a bit before consulting Caius Casades"
Kiln turned the page and read on.
"After taking a ride to Balmora on what the locals call a Silt Strider I arrived at a new city. This one much bigger than the last and the buildings are built so much differently it's like a whole different world. This is my type of place."
Kiln thought of how much he liked Balmora and how much he had in common with Tiren, it was very strange to him that a person that had died many years before his birth had so much in common with him. As there was nothing else to do he read on.
"After asking around for a very long time I finally found the location of the man I was to report to. He was a human and quite an old one at that. We talked for some time and he told me I was to be a spy for the emperor or something like that. I can't help but think he was insane. I'll go about my business for now."
Kiln wondered if the old man had been crazy or if he had been one of the secret masters of the Blades, the emperor's loyal spies. Talk of them was in the air recently but no one knows who they are.
He was too tired to try and escape tonight or even to think for that matter so he lied down on the bedroll and tried to sleep. The stench of the prison kept him awake for hours before he finally fell asleep, and he thought he smelled bad.

After a nights sleep he woke to morning roll call and feeding time. The officers yelled at the top of their voices and clanged a cup along the sides of the barred windows on the doors one by one to wake everyone up.
They were given a short time to wake up and then their food was delivered to them. It was their mystery breakfast as all of the guards called it, and all of the prisoners ate it day after day.
Upon asking what was in the strange, smelly, goo they called breakfast the guard laughed at him and said, "Mystery breakfast moron." So apparently he would never find out what he was eating.
The taste was horrible and he could tell that at least one ingredient was ash yam because it's smell overpowered most of the other smells coming from the pot. The cook laughed as the guards filled the bowls with the mucky substance and delivered it to the prisoners.
After feeding all the prisoners, the guards left to eat whatever they wanted. The man in a cell next to him was yelling and annoying everyone so a guard went in to shut him up. The man was a huge Nord and he managed to wrestle the guard to the ground and take his sword away before locking him in the cell.
The nort tried to fight the guards in just his clothes and succeded in fighting off two of them before five more entered the room and stabbed him several times. The screams were terrifying and Kiln decided not to try and escape any time soon.
He opened the journal and read more of it.
"After renting a room at the Eight plates here in Balmora..."
Kiln stopped reading and all feeling left him, could it be that...no surely not...he dismissed the ideas streaming through his head and read on.
"I felt right at home among the drunks and it's patron is quite nice also. After I left the tavern I walked through town admiring the beautiful scenery and the strange people around here. But mainly I wondered what my face looked like so I left to find my reflection in the water of the river in town."
Kiln had forgotten that the man couldn't even remember what he looked like and was deeply saddened by it. Before he went back to reading it the guard that had helped the healer fix his leg stopped by and stared at the journal. Kiln felt awkward not saying anything so they began talking.

Jul 18 2005, 08:10 PM
Momentarily Kiln talked to the guard about living conditions in the prison but the topic quickly turned on the journal and where he had gotten it. Before they talked any longer Kiln asked the man his name. The man told him that his name was York and he had been searching for his father for years trying to find what had happened to him.
It was not his real father as he was adopted and did not know his parents.
Obviously Kiln had no idea what had happened to the young dark elf's father...or did he?
The guard told him that his father had kept a journal for a long time but he was arrested and his journal was left at home, while in prison they took his father a new journal, it was small and red like the one Kiln carried with him.
He explained that he had tried talking to his father but the brutal way the guards had taken him had left him without memory of years of his life, "He didn't even recognize me." York sighed
Kiln was confused but then thought for a moment and realized that maybe Tiren was York's father, and he asked where he had lived. York told him that his father had been arrested in the Imperial city and moved to a prison elsewhere but they would not release where.
Kiln talked to York even longer and he learned exactly what had brought him to Morrowind. York had joined the Imperial guards so he could view the transfer records of his father and track him down, but he found that the lower ranks weren't allowed to view the files so he would have to get promoted several times.
Trying anything to get promoted, York volunteered to serve in one of the worst places anyone could serve, Solthseim. While on Solthseim he managed to find the records for his father by pure luck.
Unfortunately for York his term was not yet up and he would be forced to serve as a guard on Solthseim for two more years. So he began to do anything within his power to be discharged from active duty. York wouldn't tell Kiln what he had done but it couldn't have been too bad as York laughed about it when he recalled the event.
So he traveled to the port where his father had been released and stayed hot on his trail for some time until suddenly people saw him less and less. Some said he had been adventuring into the wilderness and killing the Dagoths and freeing slaves from bandits.
Kiln was very confused, he had lived in Morrowind all of his life but he did not recall hearing anything of Tiren. York was about to continue telling him something but one of the guards yelled at him and he left.
Kiln had forgotten to ask him one thing that had been bothering him, why had Tiren been imprisoned?
Chance had led York to Kiln, but Kiln was completely unsure of what would happen next.

Kiln wondered how a simple blow to the head would've destroyed Tiren's memory, it must have been some beating he took but why would he be freed in Morrowind if he had committed a horrible crime?
His cell was small and the bathrooms in the cells consisted of a small water bucket. He had eaten the horrible mystery meal they had served him and now he was feeling sick.
He leaned over and became uncontrollably sick, expelling breakfast onto the floor. It was terrible in prison and when someone came to clean the cells they did it one at a time to avoid a revolt. Just because your cell was dirty didn't mean it would be cleaned. The cells were only cleaned on designated days and today was not one of them.
The smell of the prison was becoming less noticable though. The prisoners were led into the courtyard once a day to exercise, during the exercise though the guards formed a large group around the arch in the wall to prevent escapes.

The courtyard was filled with men just talking and moving around. The rock throwing games were the most common and guards patrolled the courtyard. There was no grass or trees or anything around pleasing to the eyes, just brown dirt.
The rock throwing game looked interesting but something else caught Kiln's eye. It was the group of men that was being led out of the courtyard outside of the fort's walls.
Kiln asked the man that occupied the cell across from him why the men were being led out of the fort, the big Breton told him that prisoners with exceptional skill at something may be chosen my the warden for a special service.
The man led Kiln away from the rest of the prisoners and explained to him that if someone with certain skills was noticed then he might be hand picked by the warden to undertake a task. Word had apparently flown around the ward that the tasks are things that the guards aren't able to do by law so they have prisoners do them instead.
Kiln's attention had been grabbed. The man said that prisoners who survived and completed their tasks usually had an unnoticed escape a few days afterwards.
With all the money that Kiln owed his only chance of getting out by the end of the month might be to get noticed and picked by the warden.
So when they returned him to his cell and served dinner he bragged to the officers about his exceptional swordsmanship skills. The guards laughed at him and taunted him by repeatedly asking why he hadn't fought the guards. Kiln simply told them that he wasn't a fool and he would never fight that many guards at once.
The guards laughed and shrugged off his bragging but he continued to persist and annoy the guards, even going so far as to make up stories about times he had killed famous swordfighters.
Finally he got what he wanted, one of the guards challenged him to prove his skills in the courtyard tomorrow afternoon and Kiln accepted. The fight however, was to the death.
Kiln felt the weight of his decision take it's toll, he had killed few people in his entire lifetime and they had been shoddy swordsmen. Kiln was afraid and since the guard looked young maybe he didn't have much skill as a swordsman.
Regardless of his fear he would fight the man tomorrow in the courtyard, it was his only chance of being noticed by the warden. Kiln was too afraid to read the journal right now so he just lied down and fell into a deep sleep.

Yup the short story is pretty much out the window...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It seemed as if he had just fallen asleep and it was morning roll call already. They called everyones name and woke them up for breakfast. The guards that woke him this morning gave him a wicked grin and wished him luck in the fight today.
How had he forgotten? He was to fight a guard today during afternoon exercise.
The officers who would likely disagree with holding the fight were taken out for a nice dinner at Balmora so they wouldn't find out about any of it.
Breakfast was the same every day and the taste got old quickly but at least it started to taste better. All through his meal he thought of how he would beat the brute of a man but it would be impossible to see his strategy until the actual fight.
He was taken from his cell a few minutes after eating breakfast.
"The man you will fight today has been allowed to practice with a sword and he wished for us to allow you to do the same." a guard told him
"Thank you." Kiln said relieved
"Don't thank me...thank the man that'll be killin ya later." The man laughed
Kiln didn't find it funny because it could be the cold reality setting in. He didn't know how his opponent would fight and he was pretty afraid to lose his own life.
He entered the courtyard where a few dummies filled with hay were hanging. He felt dumb practicing blocking and jabbing with a straw figure but anything to hone his skills before the fight.
He practiced letting an imaginary blade slide off his chestplate by quickly lifting his right arm out of the way and turning his chest away from the blade. He hoped that using this in actual combat would confuse and intimidate his opponent. After grueling practice he was sent back inside for possibly his final meal.

I think I just found a way to make the story short...

Warning: This one is long...
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kiln ate as if he would never eat again and the guards even gave him a second plate of the horrible food which he was starting to get used to. The taste is bad but it's the smell that gets ya, that's what all the guards said but of course they didn't eat the prison food.
It was time for the afternoon exercise now and time for the big fight. Kiln was led ahead of the other prisoners into the courtyard. There was a huge ring of rocks in the middle of the courtyard and he was forced into it.
Guards gathered as their representative walked into the ring and the prisoners cheered on Kiln and said their goodbyes, it was clear that the prisoners believed he would die but he was not discouraged. One man stood out away from the others on neither side of the ring but he stood in the middle.
He was the officer that gave people their tasks. He began announcing to the others, yelling over the crowd,
"This is to be a fight to the death by honorable challenge from our fellow officer Precinius to the imprisoned thief Kiln. Kiln has accepted his challenge." The man said
Kiln gulped in a full breathful of air, the guard was no doubt intimidating to him but the fight would have to happen regardless.
"Present the men with their weapons! Remember the rules, fighters do not exit the ring and prisoners so not enter the ring! Anyone who chooses to violate these rules will be put to death."
How had fights like this gone unnoticed by the ranks that were not corrupt...maybe there were none as nearly the entire garrison had showed up, excluding the high ranking and honorable officers which apparently were few.
A man brought Kiln his sword and a suit of armor much like that of the other guard's armor. At least this fight was to be fair. Kiln suited up as his opponent got ready.
Kiln stretched out his arm and the guard took his hand and shook it.
"Begin!" The warden yelled
Kiln had not yet removed his hand from that of the other contender, and the man's face changed to a horrid grin. He twisted Kiln's arm with such force it took him to his knees and he spat in his face.
Kiln was so surprised he didn't know how to react. The guard lifted his arms in the air absorbing all of the attention whilst Kiln got back to his feet. The shield he had been given was a great advantage for him, he was quite good with shields of it's size.
Pricinius swung his blade but Kiln lifted his shield and let it flow with the blade throwing his opponent off balance. Taking advantage of the opening Kiln jabbed his blade for his side but the armor was too strong there and the blade slid off.
Pricinius laughed and came at him a second time, swinging and missing. The prisoners laughed at him as he continued to swing at Kiln, his blows were connecting but they were connecting with the shield.
Kiln looked for weakspots in his armor concluding that he would have to strike for the chain parts of the armor where very little was exposed. Percinius swung for Kiln's head but he ducked it and sliced for his leg, barely missing his mark.
The two continued to circle each other in the ring for some time, Percinius realised that he had underestimated Kiln and if he started paying more attention. He jabbed at Kiln but he moved with the blade as he had practiced and once again Percinius stumbled forward.
This time Kiln drew his elbows and hit him in the back with full force, knocking him to the ground. Kiln drew back to land the finishing blow as Percinius arose with a handfull of fresh dirt throwing it into Kiln's eyes.
Percinius swung at Kiln again but he missed and cut in half a torch sticking up from the ground.
Kiln stumbled and felt something hit him in the back knocking him down. The man took his sword and kicked it to the side. Kiln sat on his knees awaiting the final blow.
Percinius smiled a dark smile as he drew back and brought the sword down towards Kiln. Kiln rolled to the side and grabbed the cut torch and stabbed him with the cut part, the diagonal cut had made it the perfect weapon. Kiln rushed towards the guard and jabbed the stake under his arm, bringing him completely to the ground.
Kiln turned away, he couldn't kill him even after what had happened. He heard footsteps behind him, Percinius was making one final move. The sword swung to the left and Kiln moved right, stabbing him once again with the stake and like that, it was over.
The guard was dead and the guards rushed all the prisoners back to their cells. Kiln lied down on the bedroll tired and sweaty. One of the guards congratulated him and told him that the warden requested a meeting with him tomorrow.
Kiln was relieved but killing the man had taken it's toll on him and he did not sleep well.

I'd like to find out whether people though the fight scene was too long or what...I don't do them often and I'm not sure how good it was.

I'd like to start this part of the story by thanking everyone who has read my story and especially those who have posted what they think of it, feedback is always welcomed. BTW does anyone know how to perfectly spell that fort guy, Larrius Varro's name? I can't remember and I want this to be accurate.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Kiln awoke easily the next morning to the roll call, he was getting the hang of the schedule and it came quite easily to him. Breakfast had been putrid the first day he had arrived but now it wasn't half bad to him.
After breakfast the guards opened his cell and led him downstairs into the living quarters of the fort to speak to the warden. When the warden saw him enter he extended his hand and shook with Kiln. The man was nice and polite, he introduced himself as Larrius Varro.
The man said he wanted to speak with him about doing a little deed for him and Kiln agreed to listen.
"In the fight yesterday I saw that you had a decent skill with the blade...I might could use your help. I'd like to make an agreement with you for our mutual benefit if you would be willing to listen." Larrius explained
"Alright, what did you have in mind?" Kiln asked
Larrius explained it as if it were a story it started with a noble lawman who wanted to stop a bad criminal ring but very powerful people protected their organization from the law.
This caused a problem for the lawman and it was not in his power to stop them so sometimes laws must be bent to keep the peace. With every detail it seemed as if Larrius grew more and more insane.
Kiln kept listening even though he was becoming more and more weary of the man. The man explained that the lawman in the story said a little prayer and wished a little bloodbath would happen to cleanse away the bad people. Then he added that the one to answer his prayers was Kiln.
Kiln was officially creeped out, but he continued to listen to the ramblings of the corrupt Imperial.
The Imperial wanted Kiln to help cleanse the bad people from balmora, these people were of the Commona Tong and were causing problems in town.
He informed Kiln that if something were to happen to the bad people in Balmora then he would see to it that Kiln made an unnoticed escape from the prison, Larrius also told him that he will inform the public that they were mistaken in arresting him so he could go about his life without any problems with the law.
Kiln was told to find out who the bad people were and kill them. Kiln told him he would need some time to think it over and he was returned to his cell.
He didn't like the idea of killing people just because an Imperial guard said so but he didn't know what might happen if he refused. Trying to take his mind off of the events he sat in the corner and opened the journal.

This post is huge so I'll add the journal entry and more on a different one.

Kiln sat opening the journal to the last page he had read.
"I've arrived at the bank of the river to have a look at my reflection. This will be the first time I've seen my own face that I can remember."
Kiln stopped reading and thought of how strange it must be to have no idea about what your appearance is. Amused with what he had read he continued on.
"When I looked into the water it was like meeting someone for the first time...in a way I had met myself...strange when I think about it."
Kiln closed the journal, as it was afternoon exercise time and the prisoners were taken to the courtyard, Larrius approached him and greeted him,
"Hello Kiln how has have the guards treated you of late?"
He thought for a moment and the guards had in fact been treating him alot better than when he had arrived, had it been because of Larrius' order or was it that he had killed Percinius? He wondered and soon replied to the imperial,
"Better actually I've been treated quite well lately and I was given more to eat than usual."
Larrius seemed pleased and the direction of the conversation changed.
"So have you decided on helping me finish my little story?" Larrius asked him
Kiln wasn't inclined to help him but he agreed to do as he asked. He hadn't actually decided yet but he would lead Larrius along until it was impossible, he figured it would be best not to have the warden to be mad at him.
Varro was quite pleased with his decision and told him that when others were selected to help him, he would be released to eliminate the "bad people" as he called them.
Thinking back he could remember one person that had wanted to be selected for a special assignment. The man in the cell acrossed from him, who went by the name of Jinx had hoped to be noticed for his skills in elemental magics. Kiln mentioned his name and excused himself.
He was off to try out his accuracy in one of the rock throwing games before returning to his cell.
