If it were not for the candlelight, I would not be able to see the American Sniper Buffster in that first shot either.

I see Buffy Met The Falmers. Probably not with as much comedy as the movies though...

I can only barely tell Buffy apart from her blood sister. It is the feathers that give her away... wink.gif

"I'm Invisible!"

If an arrow to the knee makes you a guard, I wonder what an arrow there does? laugh.gif

Looks like Baby merengued all over those Falmer!
Grits
I think it’s admirable that Buffy is not afraid to change her mind. smile.gif

Oh my gosh, I would never have seen Buffy in Sniper! What a fantastic shot!

Yikes, that is a hive full of buzzing Falmer! What a great picture to showcase the stealth and magic sides of Buffy’s skill set.

Ha, Buffy and Blood-Sister Ugor couldn’t be more opposite. I wonder how Buffy would style Ugor’s scalp? I love to see Buffy with her wide range of friends.

Yay, Buffy really can turn Gralnach invisible! happy.gif Without the Fade Other spell it’s hard not to lie or disappoint the kid in that situation.

Great catch on the arrow enema! laugh.gif

Wow, the Falmer pile gave me shivers. She is deadly!

TrisRed
Just about managed to spot Buffy in 'sniper'. The little elf never fails to surprise me with her epic bow shots!

Some great pics Acadian! Arrow in the butt has to be my favourite... poor bandit didn't see what was coming tongue.gif

Good to see Buffy take out a crew of Falmer! Lissa often finds herself cornered by the things and rarely escapes unscathed, but looks like Buffy can more than handle felling the creatures!
mALX
One of the greatest things I enjoyed in Skyrim was the Orc clan storyline and quests - befriending an almost tribal race (they have this in ESO too!) - But after becoming their friend, they all remembered Maxical with a small gift of inheritance when they passed away. To me that was Awesome, very touching. I know Buffy feels the same about the clan of Orc as Maxical did. Awesome shot of Buffy in their midst, really soaking in the words in this shot! Love that shot!

Ha ha! That is cute, I don't remember doing that one! Is that part of an Orc settlement quest or just a random encounter? It sounds fun! (like the girl at the College whose spells always go awry, lol) .

BWAAHAA! How on Nirn did you catch this shot from this angle and right before the arrow hit? Awesome shot !!!!!!!

I don't even know what is going on in this shot, lol. What is that one half invisible one below aiming his bow at? He is way off if he is supposed to be shooting at Buffy, lol.

These are all great shots, I'm torn between the arrow in the butt or the Orc clan one as my favorite, but in the end it has to go to the Orc clan one because it is such a fantastic shot of Buffy!

The random encounters are neat – sometimes they’re peaceful and sometimes they’re ‘Fight’s on!’. Oh trust me, Buffy’s critters eat better than she does! And she can’t carry enough water for her mare – so watering holes are a big part of her navigational planning.

Oh we can never know. It is always best to be prepared. I believe Skyrim's watering holes are clean and just so clear. Buffy can adapt well.

Is Buffy . . . camping?! At the top of that tower? Awesome.

Sorry but I don't see the family resemblance . . . one is green, the other Bosmer tongue.gif

The arrow in the rump might be one of the most clever shots I've seen from Buffy and quite comical. Ouch. laugh.gif

I agree with mALX. The arrow in the butt is stands out the most. Well done, Acadian & Buffy!

mALX

What an adorable outfit Buffy is wearing! And reading a recipe too, how cute her "Screen of the Month" for March is!

mirocu
I agree, this month´s pic of Buffy is adorable! happy.gif
SubRosa
I have to chime in on the monthly outfit pic too. It's cute, and the earth tone really fits into the woodsy feel of the rest of the pic.
Destri Melarg
I wonder if it's telling that Superian and Kitsune have chosen not to be around for Buffy's cooking. wink.gif

I also want to thank Buffy for the 'arrow to the butt' shot. That bandit thug needs to be shot... if for no other reason than the anachronistic reference to 'aces' in a game where poker doesn't exist! nono.gif
ghastley
I want a confession here. Did you really capture that arrow on the first attempt, or he did get several lots of pain trying to get it just right?
Grits
Oh my goodness, Buffy looks adorable and hot! She makes buckskins look fabulous. happy.gif I’m sure the new recipe will turn out great and folks will flock to the cookpot once they smell what’s cooking. Hopefully they will all be folks that Buffy won’t have to shoot. tongue.gif I love the screenie for March!
Acadian
mirocu- Aww, thanks for the kind words, my friend!

Lopov- Thanks! That invisibility picture is at Heartwood Mill west of Riften. If you cast a spell near a kid, they will often ask you to turn them invisible. If you pretend that you do so, they pretend to be invisible and go about trying to scare folks. The difference here is that Buffy has the console-added ‘Fade Other’ spell so she can actually do it. Actually doing so, however, has no bearing on how the encounter plays out.

Renee- Thank you for stopping by! In that first ‘sniper’ shot, she’s near the dead center of the pic – all you can see is the tiny candlelight spell she has over her head. If the pic doesn’t fill your screen, click on it make it bigger. Then you can click on it again to make it even bigger. Yes, the frenzy spell can really help clear a room as long as you can stay out of the fray. ohmy.gif

SubRosa- Thank you! Yup, good sniper shots are hard to showcase via pics. I love the comments about Buffy and her blood kin sister! And that invisibility clip is very much like how the vanilla ‘make me invisible’ encounter plays out in vanilla! ‘Dances with wolves Falmer’. tongue.gif

Grits- Thanks again for your always warm and encouraging support. Buffy certainly embraces the concept of a woman’s prerogative to change her mind. happy.gif

Rihanae- Thanks for stopping by, and the kind words. We do run some ini tweaks that allow arrows to fly farther. And her bow is the slowest bow in the game at 0.5 speed; this makes it ‘fight’ more like the slow, cumbersome sniper weapon that it is supposed to be and puts her at distinct disadvantage in closer range ‘skirmishes’. That forces her to rely on magic when foes get in her face. We also discovered (and UESP verifies) that slower bows actually have a flatter trajectory which makes calculating a long range aim point a bit easier. Increasing the arrow speed and eliminating gravity can both make long shots easier, but we use neither of those tweaks as we find our current challenge just about right.

mALX- Aww, thank you, mALX! It is nice to know that Maxical and Buffy both share an affinity for ‘primal tribes’ like the Orc clans and the Skaal. I very much wish there were clans of dryads or spriggans that you could befriend. Ugor was talking about the new chief (in the shot behind them, sporting Volundrung). The arrow in flight shots rely on the tfc 1 command and luck as far as timing. Even then, it is sometimes thwarted if the game decide to take over with a kill cam. I have kind of a love/hate thing with the kill cams but have chosen not to disable them.

DE- There are certainly plenty of beautiful waterfalls! In the shot at the top of the tower, that is the body of a sniped bandit; Buffy’s on the ground waaay down below. I’m glad the ‘arrow in the butt’ shot was popular; I was lucky to catch it just right. Thank you!

Destri- How funny, your comment about Superian and Kistune staying well-clear of Buffy’s culinary experiment. And nice catch on the anachronism of aces in TES. Thank you!

ghastley- That was the original shot. That it happened to be a butt shot by chance instead of by planning drove the captioning. Thanks!

Announcement. Buffy and I have just launched a new book in the Chorrol’s main fanfic forum! Due to my limited ability to multifocus / multitask, I want to reduce the role that Buffy’s Potpourri thread has. My intent is that our fanfic efforts will go there of course. I plan to post future screenshots (when we have them) primarily in the Skyrim Screenshot Thread. That leaves this Potpourri thread mostly as a ‘social media’ type venue for well wishes, questions or even such things as the letters that Buffy and Lothran enjoy exchanging. Going forward, I will answer any posts we get here in a timely manner rather than the more traditional fanfic thread approach of delaying and consolidating replies until updating.
mALX

Oh my gosh, Buffy is really blending in and camouflaged well in that setting with her outfit! But ... where is this? I don't remember seeing palm trees in Skyrim !!!! Awesome screen of the month, Miss Buffy!

mirocu
Welcome to the jungle,
we´ve got fun and games!

We got everything you want,
honey we know the names

biggrin.gif
Acadian
Why, thank you both! That is an older shot from a new world space added to Skyrim by a mod called Oasis. smile.gif
SubRosa
I love the April pic. Welcome to the Jungle!
Acadian
Aww, thank you, SubRosa. I think Buffy was hunting for waterfalls that were warm for a change. smile.gif
Lopov
She looks awesome in the jungle, like a true predator.

Is her outfit Hircine's vest or just something similar?
Grits
What a delightfully lush picture for April! Now when I think of Buffy in Valenwood or the jungle-y parts of Elsweyr, I’ll imagine Skyrim Buffy. Excellent warm-weather huntress attire. happy.gif

I only noticed that (and the Amulet of Articulation) because the camera angle means you can't see her eyes. biggrin.gif

However, I can't get the extra points for determining what spell she has ready.
Acadian
Hee! Thank you all! Yes, I now think of Buffy (even if writing her in Cyrodiil, Elsweyr or Valenwood) as SkyBuffy. That is a very old shot, so let me think. She gave up the Amulet of Articulation in favor a a Nord type amulet quite some time ago. Yes, that is Savior's Hide (from Hircine), but her current version is without those massive 'shoulder pads'. Hmm, I'm pretty sure she has invisibility readied in her right hand and 'detect any freaking thing that can move' in her left. Currently, she generally sneaks with bow spell in her left and her detect spell in her right.

I'm now calling that detect spell her divination spell as a short but accurate description. It detects anything that can move of rabbit or larger size, including living, undead, daedra, automatons. biggrin.gif
Uleni Athram
Ylenno: Now THAT is a useful spell, alright. If only we can have one that lets you how many money a mark- I mean, a person has on his body. It'll certainly make some... activities easier to do...
Acadian
Uleni, that does indeed sound convenient for a thief!

Somewhat to Buffy’s frustration, I prefer Skyrim’s more ‘active concentration spell’ aspect for divination/detect spells over Oblivion’s detection mechanics. A mage’s life has plenty of magical conveniences, so this is one aspect I like being a bit more challenging to manage. So she basically dungeon crawls with her detection spell in her right hand, actively pulsing the air for threats every few steps, and the spell to summon her bow in her left hand.
mirocu
As a Master in the school of Illusion I would imagine Buffy to employ a strong Chameleon spell when dungeon diving. But I reckon that´s not the case?
Acadian
When dungeon diving, Buffy relies primarily on knowing where her foes are. To do so, she ‘pulses’ the air with her divination/detect spell every few steps. By knowing where the foes are, she can avoid surprises, hunt foes effectively and position herself to avoid being seen. She also relies on her stealth, small size and a ‘muffle’ spell to help subdue any noise and light coming from her.

Buffy’s modified muffle spell is very cool. It is ‘cast’ by the act of her crouching into stealth, and remains active until she stands up from stealth (which dispels it). You will often see the spell active on her during sneaking screenshots as a bluish aura around both feet. It has three effects when active:
1. It muffles her sounds, making her hard to detect.
2. It allows her to pass over ‘pressure plate’ traps without triggering them. (RP – it is actually a perk that accomplishes this).
3. It partially shrouds magical lighting effects as seen by foes. This means that spell effects emanating from Buffy appear very dim/subdued to foes. The primary benefit of this is that her mystic bow appears dim and wispy to foes when muffle is active. The spell does not affect the visual perception of allies, which means her readied spells or mystic bow can be readily seen to help allies avoid accidently targeting her. (Pure RP to address the question of an archer trying to sneak around with a flaming blue bow.)

As Rains Hand the 19th is a momentous day, Jerric went to his favorite waterfalls in Morrowind to celebrate. It’s south of Ebonheart where lava from the Tormented Spire makes the water almost too warm for a Nord.

First order of birthday business: get wet.

Then the birthday song. Jerric does not have lute-friendly fingers, but he can sure bang a drum. The local nirnroot and netches helped with the singing.

Once the sun set behind the cliffs, Jerric whipped up a party meal and beverages. He put on some trousers for the cooking. Darnand was not there to suggest a shirt.

Thankfully there were no shalk beetle attacks since as his celebrating progressed Jerric quite abandoned any attempts to maintain situational awareness. The waterfalls and peaceful wildlife encouraged him to pass out sleep there, where he dreamt of wood elves and butterflies.

A very Happy Birthday to you, beloved Buffy! I hope your day was exactly how you wished it.

Love from your friend,

Jerric

SubRosa
So Jerric is hot, wet, and banging away.

Sounds like another day in paradise! laugh.gif
Acadian
Dear Jerric,

I’m was so excited to hear from you on my birthday! IPB Image

It sounds like you had a wonderful day with plenty of water play and good food.

I did indeed have a beautiful day as well. Acadian took me to a secret place deep in Valenwood to play for the day – it was warm with plenty of waterfalls and streams to explore. And being my birthday, I dressed appropriately of course -
Buffy's Birthday Suit.

As ever, your thoughtfulness touches my heart and brings a tear of happiness. Be well in your travels and know I think often and fondly of you, my dear friend. Green grasses and cool waters to you.

Buffy

BWAAAHAA !!! Happy Birthday, Miss Buffy !!! The water you are bathing in looks gorgeous, a nice pretty grotto!

Oops, and I forgot to mention why he is all hot and wet. It's Buffy's Buff-Day! Happy Buffing Buffy, and many more Buffs to come! cake.gif
Grits
Woo, Buffy wore our favorite outfit for her birthday! biggrin.gif What a beautiful spot to celebrate. happy.gif

SubRosa, I spit tea. laugh.gif
Acadian
Thank you so much for the kind wishes back on Buffy’s birthday!

mALX, Buffy found a happy (and warm) oasis.

Lothran and mirocu, thanks for the wonderful note from both of you.

SubRosa, thanks for the Bufferific wishes!

Grits, thank you, and may I say that based on Lil’s magnificent screenshot for Rains Hand, it looks like our two elves favor the same fashions!

A bit of an update on our return to fanfic – Thanks to the warm encouragement of our friends here, Buffy and I are well back on track after our long fic sabbatical. The changes Buffy and I talked about in the prelude of our short story book have had a profound impact on jump-starting our productivity. Not only are we cranking out short stories almost at will, but our efforts have renewed interest in picking up Buffy’s main story from where we left off at the end of Book 1. It looks like this will take the form of several more sequential books that are each more modest in scope than the massive Book 1. The next book is fully drafted and I hope to pause our short stories to begin posting Book 2 around mid June. Book 3 is about half done and Book 4 is in solid concept form.

Posting no more frequently than once a week, that all translates to, well, a neverending story, which has always been my wish for Buffy. smile.gif
mirocu
Nice pic of the month but I have to say I was a bit hesitant to click on the link... laugh.gif
mALX

WOO HOO! And I love seeing Buffy get Knocked Nocked up! Awesome shot, Miss Buffy !!!

Grits
I’m so pleased to hear of more Buffy story in the making. What marvelous news! happy.gif

Buffy looks all business getting nocked up. Great to see a moment of the endless practice behind the Bowgirl’s awesome archery.
Lopov
I almost wanted to ask when was the May screenshot taken, then I recognized the place.

Nice screenshot and Buffy again wears IMO one of the outfits that suits her the best.
ghastley
Save that screenshot. A candidate for "Where Am I?" if ever I saw one.
Acadian
Thank you, friends. biggrin.gif

mirocu - I'm glad the title of May's screenie didn't keep you from opening it! tongue.gif

mALX - Thank you! I knew you would know exactly what to expect from the title. Lol.

Grits - Thanks! The writing continues to go well. smile.gif

Lopov - I agree with you about the Triss outfit. I've loved it for a long time but the Oblivion version only came in big bewb size. I was delighted when I realized the Skymod for it scales perfectly to Buffy's actual figure.

ghastley - Good idea indeed for a future 'Where am I' screenshot.

mALX

Ooh, Buffy sees Falmer butt cheeks! laugh.gif Nice screen of the month, Buffy!

mirocu
You really capture who Buffy is in each shot, Acadian. Nice one! biggrin.gif
Acadian
mALX and mirocu, thank you! As sweet as Buffy can sometimes be, she never comes more 'alive' than when skulking through a dungeon killin' stuff. wacko.gif biggrin.gif
Grits
Yikes, that is a carpet of Falmer! I love the close view of Buffy in this one. Great shot! happy.gif
Acadian
Aww, thank you, Grits! Speaking of screenies of the month, your June one for Jerric it wonderful! It's neat how you can run into Talsgar in all kinds of beautiful and/or dangerous places. Happily, he's pretty good at taking care of himself. smile.gif
mALX

I think I told you this already; but I got a kick out of Buffy's screen of the month - spent some time looking for her "Prey" before I happened to notice the arrow sticking out of it! SPEW! Great Shot, Buffy !!!!

ghastley
And let me just mention Movarth's Lair, before it becomes a Where Am I thread shot. biggrin.gif

He's usually dead in his chair in my games, and it's not available for posing.
Grits
Oh my gosh, your July screenie is awesome! Buffy looks lovely with a side of adorable with that sweet expression, but the evidence of her lethality sits right there at the table. Fantastic shot!
Lopov
If the July shot would be in the "Caption this" thread, a quote like "Yes, that's my work" would be appropriate. wink.gif
mirocu
Pic of the month:

"Oh, him? He was the last guy asking for a raise. So, what´s on your mind?"

laugh.gif
Acadian
mALX- Hee! Sorry that I forgot about your keen bat-like vision! Thank you!

ghastley- Your sharp eyes do not disappoint – Movarth’s Lair it is.

Grits- Thanks for noting the incongruity within the girl next door who carries a sniper rifle. happy.gif

Lopov- I was so tickled when you and mirocu supplied captions! Thanks.

mirocu- Oh noes! No raise for that mean old vampire. tongue.gif
