Right up your alley, if I may say so.Regards,

Adatoriel, Welcome! It is wonderful to finally meet you and I hope you'll drop by often! I'm so pleased that you are helping Daenlin. He is not getting any younger you know. I'm sure you will learn much from him - he is the best! Imp chips? Well, I'm not really sure what part of the imp they're made from, but they sure are yummy. Part of it depends on the context too. I mean, some folk say things like, "That's a load of imp chips!" implying that another meaning could be the droppings of imps I guess. I get mine from Nilawen's general store. She doesn't exactly know what part of the imps are used for the snack food either, but she assures me it's not their droppings!
Abiene, a warm welcome to you as well! With the tournament in progress, the shopping here in Bravil temporarily rivals that in the Imperial City! I have noticed several of the merchants that have set up tents here sell exotic perfumes. I must confess that I am reluctant to wear perfume. I fear it might conflict with the gentle citrus scent of the hair conditioner that Ardaline and I make. The tourney grounds are filled with wandering minstrels during the day; song and bonfires with dancing are common at night during the event. I'm sure also that there are numerous fancy parties hosted by the small number of wealthy folk who live in Bravil.
Milady Syl, this humble knight is so honored to have an elf of your title visit my simple but friendly tavern! I hope, given your lofty position, will not take offence when I say, it is simply a joy to speak with a lady of my own rather diminutive physical stature. His Lordship Thadon would be most welcome to stop in as well, hopefully coincident with a visit from you. That way your Ladyship could keep an eye on him - for security reasons only of course. Thank you for your well wishes regarding the tournament!
TK, how sweet of you! One can never have too many clothes. Or shoes. Or bits of jewelry. Or friends. Thank you!
Lissa, it's wonderful to hear from you! Good luck with your business. I was delighted to see that Aravi has a contract that you have accepted. By Mara! A party slumber party at your place! You're in Anvil, right? I'm sure Maelona will know exactly where. The tourney is keeping me very busy. I had hoped for a bit of a breather here in Bravil, but there is just so much going on!

My dear Buffy--
I am quite thankful to be welcome in your tavern, and I am also glad to catch up with someone of my same small stature. We understand each other in ways others cannot--many have underestimated us because of our build. But many have also discovered the hard way that there resides within our small bodies great strength and the hearts of warriors.
Take care,

Lissa--
My sources tell me that you can enchant rings at the Arcane University. Otherwise, if you are in possession of a certain wizard's tower, there is an altar of enchantment there. If neither of these options work, I'm afraid I cannot help you any further.
I would come to your slumber party, if only it were not such a danger for me to sleep anywhere outside the House of Dementia. Surely you will not take offense, but will understand the necessity for me to avoid any sort of threat to my security.
Take care,
Syl, Duchess of Dementia.

Dear Lissa,
Are you certain there are no boys allowed at your slumber party? As the Duke of Mania, I can assure you I am quite fun at slumber parties--especially slumber parties that involve wine and women. Hehehe...
I highly recommend you change your mind.
Sincerely,
Thadon, Duke of Mania.

Dear Buffy,
Someone--but I can't say who--has informed me that you will be supplying Fellmoor wine at your tavern in Bravil? This is certainly most welcome news, and I would be glad to make my way to Bravil sometime for a visit. I am always eager to meet new people, except when I am not.
I also hear that Syl has been to your establishment? Have I heard correctly, or am I mistaken? I must admit, I am rather surprised that she would make her way to Bravil--she rarely ever leaves her side of the palace. However, I suppose if I were to run into her there, it would not be so bad. She and I have a rather complicated relationship, but I am able to at least tolerate her company. In fact, I can tolerate her company better than you might think. Of course, we're not talking about that...
Also, I'm not sure how you feel about it, but I would really be quite overjoyed if you would allow me to have some greenmote and felldew, and to share it with anyone at the tavern who is interested. I do hope you will at least consider my offer--you might enjoy it, in fact. It truly opens your mind to a world of new possibilities. Or is it a pasture? Well, at any rate, it has grass and possibilities. I can't imagine why anyone would ever turn it down. Of course, I can't imagine much of anything right now...
Well, I have to go. There is so much for me to do, I don't even know where to start. You know how it is. Or perhaps you don't.
Sincerely,
Thadon, Duke of Mania.

Dear Lissa,
I must admit, I am disappointed there are no boys allowed at your party, but I suppose I understand. No hard feelings. In fact, my feelings are rather soft and fluffy--which is definitely not hard.
When I think of hard things, I think of stones or bricks. But all those are any good for is building. And what use do I have for building? I already have a home, and I am quite cozy right here in the House of Mania.
So, I suppose it's best I stay here anyway, because there's no point in leaving such a cozy place, or is there?
Sincerely,

LC X Dear Lissa,
Mania is quite nice this time of year. You say you haven't been to the Isles yet? Well then, you simply must come for a visit. Once you get past the door, you will be blown away by the Realm of Madness. Unless, of course, it isn't windy. But that all depends on Sheogorath's disposition, as it is He who controls the weather in the Isles. It is a wondrous world, unless of course you get eaten by a scalon or something. Then it would just be wondrously awful. Avoid scalons, if you can.
If you should decide to visit the Isles, do drop by the House of Mania--after you see the Madgod, of course. I may have something you could help me with. A stolen item that is very precious to me. But we can discuss that in person, should you decide to come.
Sincerely,
Thadon.
Lady Syl
Apr 17 2011, 07:11 PM
Dear Lissa--
If Thadon has approached you concerning a stolen item he would like you to retrieve for him, I would advise you not to do it. The item in question was taken from him for his own good, and it would be a great disservice to him and to me, should you decide to take him up on his offer (I have it on good authority that he has approached you on this subject, so there is no need to cover for him). I am certain it would be in everyone's best interest that the said item remain out of Thadon's hands. I do hope you will take my advice.
However, should you still decide to come to the Isles, I do have an issue with which I believe you could be of service to me. It is a matter of great importance, and if the Madgod approves of your aid in this matter, it would be very much appreciated. Thank you for considering my advice, as well as my offer. And, in case you need some convincing, perhaps you should also pay a visit to my torture chamber and speak to Herdir. You would be wise to side with me, or your visit to my torture chamber may not be the sort of visit you were hoping for.
Take care,
Syl.

Archeress Lissa,
I hear that my little Syl threatened to torture you. I would advise you to ignore her--the Duchess' bark is often worse than her bite. Not always, but with you I'm pretty sure it was not a serious threat.
Too bad that you don't want to pay a visit to my Realm; but you are not mad, so I doubt you would really like it here anyway. Plus, my Gatekeeper would never let you get past the Fringe, so it's probably a good idea to stay in Tamriel.
And I promise you that, from now on, I will make sure Syl and Thadon stop bothering you with their problems. I already have someone on the way to take care of the matter--it's just the result of a lover's quarrel, and it is really between the two of them, and myself. If they try to bother you again, just let me know by whatever means you can think, and I'll handle them for you.

Milady Syl, I heard they use torture where you come from. I once tortured a Khajiit. He was a highwayman who swung an axe at my precious mare, Superian. We got away and could have just kept going, but we didn't. I returned stealthily and shot the highwayman with a poisoned arrow that knocked him down. I watched as he struggled on the ground trying to remove my arrow as the poison made him writhe and cry out in pain. All I could think about was the sick feeling I had when I remembered how close his axe had come to hitting Superian. Had he been a wolf or lion, I would have put him out of his pain with another arrow. I didn't though. I just crouched in my hidden firing position and whispered, "I hope it hurts." After a few minutes, he died. I know I would do the exact same thing again to anyone who tried to hurt Superian. Am I bad?
Heidi, how delightful to have another blonde here! Um, forgive my nosiness, but you have to understand that my cup size is quite near the front of the alphabet if you know what I mean. Do you have any problems if you try to shoot a bow? Can you swim underwater okay or do you keep bobbing to the surface? Does it hurt if you ride a horse at a gallop? I know my friend Sigrid gets mad when men don't look at her eyes when they talk to her.
Milord Thadon, I am honored to hear from you. Milady Syl does indeed visit here, but I fear I cannot share her schedule due to her security concerns. I'm sure a powerful and noble mer of your position fully understands such matters. I must also decline your most gracious offer to share these intoxicants you call greenmote and felldew. I expect my dear friend Nordinor would become concerned about his customer base. I also fear my friend Gladius Maro would not understand; the Legion soldier is a wonderful man, but simply refuses to overlook infractions of the local laws and customs - even though he seems to be in the minority among Bravil guards. I so hope your Lordship can be satisfied by wine and ale type products? Would it help if I brought in some chocolate from Passwall? I have certainly been known to tip a bit too much Tamika's. May I share with you what really intoxicates me? It is the freedom and speed of thundering down a road on the fastest horse in Cyrodiil. Do you have fast horses where you come from?
Serene, Squeeee! How exciting to have you drop in for a visit!
Maxical, Whew! I'm so glad that strawberries and water are ok. I mean, I don't have very many Khajiit friends. I didn't know if I needed to get some milk or something? I know, I'm a silly elf. Oh, one of the tourney judges asked if you were going to enter the event this year. When I told him you were not going to be able to make it, he seemed quite relieved. I wonder what that's about?

Buffy--
Well, to start with, I found your story about your own experience with torture delightful! I would have done similarly, of course. Are you bad, you ask? I would say that you are not bad, but perhaps a little mad? That is only the beginning, I should think. If you wish for the blessing of madness, I am certain you will receive it. Think of what you could become, if you allow madness to envelop you, Buffy! It is wondrous, I can assure you.
Have you ever considered applying for a position as a torturer? Currently that position is filled in the House of Dementia, but I am sure there are plenty of positions available in other places. If you are interested, I will keep you in mind, should some unfortunate event put me on the market for a new torturer...
Well, it was a delight getting to visit, dear. And thank you for looking out for my security so well. I can say that I almost trust you...
With pleasure,
Syl.
****
Dear sweet Buffy,
Ah, quite disappointing that I cannot share the delights of greenmote and felldew on my visits to Cyrodiil. Of course, I will be delighted to have chocolate and wine as a substitute, however. Thank you kindly for the offer.
This Gladius Maro fellow, I think I shall have to watch out for him. Does he like jokes? If I ever run into him, I shall have to tell him some jokes, and hope to keep his disposition toward me up, so that I do not fall under his suspicion. Too bad, really, that he can't overlook such things. He would have a hay day in Mania, hehehe. Unfortunately, there are no longer any horses in Mania, so having a hay day would be rather pointless. There aren't any horses in Dementia, either. I haven't seen a horse in the Isles in a very long time...
Affectionately,
Thadon.

To Buffy,
.. I must've surely looked quite the idiot! Imps chips are droppings from Imps they say.. What a load of Imp chips! *laughs* My thanks for shedding light on that matter, fellow Bosmer! Oh, and I resent that I am not there in Bravil. I hear that the Tournament of Archers has been commenced. I have not spent enough time in Bravil to know deeply of such matters, but I do know that dear Daenlin has such a skill that he wins it everytime. I have heard it from another bowman. Jean-Pierre Lemonds is his name, do you know him? He was once a Champion in the Arena, or so do the old rumours tell.
I've never been the one to believe in rumours, but, Lemonds radiate an .. interesting aura. Calm, concentrated and straight to the point. Like the arrows he uses, yes?
Oh, and is it true that .. You are in touch with colourful characters from various places? Like, the albino Khajiit at the Arena? God's blood, I know that giving advices and answering questions would net you some attention but by Y'ffre Himself!
I never met the Khajiit, but from what I gather when watching her matches.. Let's just say I would dress up as a girl when meeting her in a bad mood! The things she did to that poor man.. and his manhood.. Dear Nine above and the Sixteen Lords below! I had nightmares for weeks!
Well, I must be off. And thank you again for giving the answer for that gastronomical riddle I have encountered in the form of Imp chips. I would be sure to buy some from dear Nilawen if I'm there.

Oh, I'm sure it would be easy to get that job opening set up. You are the Duchess of Dementia, and I have seen that torturer guy (his name escapes me right now) sneaking off to whisper with some rather shady figures in Crucible at night for about three days now. Conspiracy, maybe?

It has been a busy day here in the House of Dementia. Someone informed me that Herdir may be guilty of conspiring against me, so I have had to start another inquisition in Crucible, and this time I have to do most of the work myself! I never would have suspected Herdir, as he was always such a loyal servant. If I cannot trust Herdir, whom can I trust? This just keeps getting worse! I hope you are having better luck. Want my advice? Never take a position of power. Once you do, you will become prey for the hunter, and they will smell your blood and come for it at any opportunity they get!

Greetings, Lissa!
--Syl, Duchess of Dementia.
Dear Syl,
I'm real sorry to hear that somebody you trust the most can't be trusted, that sucks! If I ever pluck up the courage to visit the isles I will be more than happy to help you out any way I can to take the workload off you; but only if I can have a replica of that AMAZING dress you have! Haha, only joking. About the dress, not helping!
I really don't plan on getting any form of major power... Yet.

I have been summoned? By the Duchess of Dementia?
Should I be honored or terrified? Or both?
One problem, though, I'm afraid I have no means of transit to the Isles. Unless you can persuade Lord Sheogorath to open a portal for me (he knows where) I'm afraid it will be quite impossible for me to entertain your summons.

Dear Lissa--
How kind of you to extend your offer of aid. Should you ever come to the Isles, I would be ever grateful for your help. I'm afraid copies of my dress are nearly unattainable, but believe me, I understand your desire to have one. It is the finest dress in my wardrobe, and I absolutely love it. A true work of art, it is.
Well, do take care dear. And your decision to hold off from getting into a position of power is a wise one. Believe me, I can understand the temptation, but hold off for as long as you can--once you accept it, you'll never be able to escape from it. I am both honored and held captive by my position. I would not wish it on anyone...
Fare well,
Syl.
****
Dear TK--
While I understand your predicament, I am sure you can work something out. Lord Sheogorath will not open a portal to His realm unless He feels inclined to do so, but I am sure He would be more than willing, provided I catch Him in the right mood. Whenever you are able to come is fine--I can wait. But I would advise you not to keep me waiting for too long. I have much I would like to discuss with you.
Thadon has been avoiding me since our last encounter. Apparently he wasn't too fond of the discussion I gave him, but I consider it my duty to do whatever it takes to get him on the right track. Surely you understand? If not, we will have even more to discuss, when you make it to the House of Dementia....
Take care,
Syl.

Dear Syl:
I've heard a recent rumor that about half the bricks in your palace chambers contain magical listening and viewing devices. Perhaps you should look into that?

TK.

*gasps* Madgod! Could it be? Is there nowhere safe? I must see Lord Sheogorath at once!

Question for Buffy...
Would you consider yourself good, evil, or neutral? Because it's hard to tell since you care for your friends, mentors, etc. very much and reject the Dark Brotherhood, but...torturing a Kahjiit that badly? Really? Kind of extreme, even though he tried to attack Superian.
Question end
Hilarious interactions from Buffy, Kudos Acadian.

Milady Syl, thank you for almost trusting me. Remember that little elves like you and I make small, hard to hit targets. I must humbly decline the offer to come to the Isles or consider the position of torturer. After my experience with Sheogorath at Borderwatch, let's just say, I do not count him among my friends. I trusted that his harmless prank there would be simple fun. I was not prepared for the cruelty or shattered lives I left in my wake as a result of allowing myself to trust him. I cannot forgive myself for Borderwatch, so I cannot forgive Sheogorath either. As far as the position of torturer, I like torture fine, but only against those who threaten me or those I hold dear; then, despite being as little as I am, I tend to go stupid and act like a mama grizzly. I fear that I'm only a hobby torturer for my own sense of vengeance.
Milord Thadon, I'm so sorry that you have no horses in the Isles. Do you perhaps have an orc problem that could be the cause?
Adatoriel, Oh yes, Daenlin and I know Jean-Pierre Lemonds! Besides myself, he is the only one that Daenlin will let run The Archer's Paradox in his absence. The albino Khajiit? Oh what a delight Maxical is! She can't heal or shoot a bow or aim a spell, but she's cute as a button and an amazing swordskitty! And the things she can do with her tail! Like my mare and I, she has big ears, but unlike me, Maxical can move her ears all around in the cutest ways!
DarkZerker, Hmm, am I good, evil or neutral? Yes I am! Acadian's friend SubRosa says I am cuddly like a rattlesnake. Mrs Acadian calls me lethally blond. I figure I'm just a working girl trying to survive in a beautiful but harsh land. I have come to trust and rely on this: The Buffy Doctrine: If you are kind to me, I will love you dearly; if you are a threat to me or my friends, I will likely kill you . When it comes to someone who would hurt one of my dear friends like Superian, no vengeance or violence is too extreme for this little elf. So. . . I guess it depends on whether you are kind to me and my friends?
All - By Mara, I'm so glad that my little tavern is a fun place to meet and chat with other residents of Tamriel (you too, Lady Syl and Lord Thadon).

Dear Maxical--
While traveling to Bravil today, I stopped by Faregyl Inn. Every time I pass by now, I always think of you--thought you would like to know. Also, I went in to chat with Alix and S'Jirra, and helped S'Jirra get back some jumbo potatoes that had been stolen from her by a big ogre. She rewarded me kindly with a loaf of her special potato bread. I shall take it back to the Isles with me and have Anya taste it before I try any--can't be too careful, of course.... It smells delicious, though! I do so hope Anya doesn't die after eating any of it, as I am eager to taste it myself!
Take care,
Syl.

Dear Buffy--
I perfectly understand that you do not want to turn your hobby of torturing into a career. It is not something I would want to do on a daily basis (that is why I hire others to do it for me). After all it would become rather tedious and boring, I should think.
Also, I find it interesting that Acadian's friend calls you cuddly like a rattlesnake. SubRosa has a very good wit, it seems. Also, this Mrs. Acadian sounds charming--"lethally blond" sounds like an excellent nickname! Were I blond instead of brunette, I would simply be flattered to have such a nickname. From what I hear, it rightly suits you.
Take care,
Syl.

I just heard from Rihanae about your secind place win at the tournament! Congratulations!
I'm so happy for you! I wish I could have been there, but I hope you know that even though I wasn't there I was still supporting you; and Teresa!

Oh thank you , Lissa! I'm so glad that Daenlin, Teresa, Alawen and I all finished in the top five! We all missed you. I hope to see you at the tournament next year. I would love to see you shoot since I understand you were trained by a Hammerfellow instead of us Valenwoodsters.
I hope you and Rihanae and Jessie stay safe during your adventures and get to pop in here for some cider sometimes.
Warmest regards to dear Maelona and that nice husband of hers.

So I went to Fort Strand, near Anvil looking for my friends Aravi, Vilja, Maxical and Jerric. I guess I missed them by a few days; Acadian thinks it was because I dawdle too much and have a short attention span. I'm sure he's mistaken. I mean, if you find a nirnroot, you have to go see Sinderion right away before it wilts, right? And just because you're in a hurry to go somewhere, doesn't mean you won't encounter a Legion rider who needs to have his horse healed up from a fight. Oh, and well, there was a waterfall along the way and - where was I? Superian and I got chased by a wolf! Isn't Anvil a beautiful place? Oh, yes, Fort Strand - Acadian took some pictures for my scrapbook:
Will you wait here, precious girl?
Oh, don't look at me like that!
And don't stamp your hoof!
More two legged varmints - likely marauders like those two outside.
You sleep rather soundly for a marauder. Hee! Do I sound like Lucien?
I'll just warm myself here for a moment. No food - I guess Jerric's been here.
Why send an elf where an arrow can go?
Say hello to my friend, Nightshade. Ooh, I learned that line from Teresa!
Another level? More marauders and a rat.
Come, feed Slayer. See, Maxical? I got up real close to make sure it wasn't Alix!
Warlord, meet Spike.
Take a well-deserved bow, my trusty friend. And to think at one time, you were the stuff of my nightmares. Let's get out of here.
Nice to get that armor off. Superian, do you think I think I need a bath? I saw a mud crab along the beach the other day. I wonder what's for dinner at the guild tonight? Oooh, Acadian- look! if we hurry we can catch the Abecean sunset! Do you know what kind of sound the sun makes when it touches the water? Let's ride out to listen . . . .

Can't stay on topic can she?
Talking to Superian is just adorable.
I doubt that soundly sleeping Marauder ever woke.
Aravi doesn't eat anything she finds in dungeons, but I guess Jerric isn't so picky is he?
Buffy got through without a scratch didn't she?!
Brilliant! I'm glad you posted these. I've been champing at the bit to see them!
So what does the the sun sound like when it touches the water?

Buffy, are you going to turn around and return to shore before that water-walking spell wears off?
Somehow I don't think Superian would be too happy to have to swim back, you know.

Some sass from Superian, how funny! KC said it, those two are adorable together.
Oh no, Jerric didn’t even leave a sliver of cheese and a crumb of bread?

I doubt he’s ever passed a bandit’s cook pot without taking a look under the lid.
That’s a great shot into the pit area. I can imagine the swearing that those walls have heard over the years. And, um, more recently.

But shaky boards are no problem here.
That long-range life detection makes such a difference. It must let Buffy really plan her path through a ruin, rather than just follow the walls.
Woo hoo, Spike!! I think these are my favorites, especially the one with Buffy on the stairs!!
Need a bath?! She probably didn’t even get sweaty! Still, I hear Anvil’s guild hall has a spectacular if busy bathing chamber.

A lovely Abecean sunset. Buffy, what did you add to the water-walk so that you would know before the spell runs out? I would hate to send a horse unexpectedly swimming.
How fun to ride along with Buffy as she makes County Anvil a little safer!

Thank you all for the nice comments regarding Buffy’s picture-trek through Fort Strand!
KC - To be honest, Buffy did get the stuffing knocked out of her by a swinging log trap. I was gracious enough not to take a picture of her crying. That's the trouble with navigating in the dark by pink glows; as careful as she is, she can still sometimes miss one of those darn traps. On chasing the sun, Buffy got scared that she might fall off the edge of Nirn and turned us around.
Rider - One time long ago, her spell did wear off out in the middle of the river and you're right, Superian was not happy! Now she casts a similar spell on herself first because she can tell how long that one has left; when the timing is running low, she hops off onto the water and recasts the spells before the mare can get wet (and mad). Before she had the magic to do all that, she had a tiny 'feather on self’ component on Superian's water walk spell so she could tell how long was left on it and wore a waterwalking ring when riding on the water. She got rid of most of her 'utility' rings as she gained more magic and mostly uses spells instead of rings now. In fact, the only rings she normally carries are a pair of detect life rings, a resist cold ring (for cold weather) and a resist fire ring (for hot places like, well, Julian knows much better than we do).
Grits - Hee! Buffy just loves her mare! We figured by the empty stewpot, that Jerric had recently been through Fort Strand.

Yes, that's Buffy’s world - navigating by pink glows. I'm sure Lildereth knows what that's like. It's a long ways into the future of our story before Buffy meets Spike, but how ironic is that? The terror of her nightmare becoming a trusted savior!
mALX – I’m so glad you enjoyed Buffy’s captions!

By Mara, we had quite a scare last week. Buffy’s home had the magicka sucked right out of it – probably a will-o-the-wisp attack we figure. Poor puter had to go to the chapel and have new stained glass windows put in. The healers there even added a couple sigil stones that fortify puter’s magicka. Fortunately, all of Buffy’s mystic bits were happily archived in several types of safe storage containers. It took us a week of frustration, wryeing and bashing to get her house rebuilt. I almost cried when my little elf came back up and said, “Well, we’re not out of the woods, yet.” Then she giggled and added, “Oh wait! We are!”
