I do not think I have seen one of these threads here, and let's face it, it is a staple of forum life. Lately all of my desktops have been from my Oblivion characters. Here is my current one, Morghak:

Morghak, Orc knight and gladiator

Edit: Since I am going to use her in the TF, I changed her name to a more Lore-friendly Morghak.

Well... actually http://chorrol.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=3238&st=0 but its been dead for over a year.

Anyway I have a little gadget which I love - AWC, the automatic wallpaper changer. Give it a folder full of pictures and it goes through them randomly and changes your wallpaper however often you tell it too (I like 4 changes per hour), so my desktop is ever changing.

Here's one of the place I was camping last week. With the moon phase gadget at the side of course tongue.gif

SubRosa, Morghak looks great! I knew you had that mod, but the results are beautiful! She looks even nicer than the gorgeous Mazoga!

Olen, NICE scene. Did you go camping at Lake Rumare? That's what it looks like. Or maybe I have been spending too much time in Cyrodiil? tongue.gif

Sorry, I don't know how to actually post my desktop. Here, however is my current desktop screenie (yes, of you know who. . . ):

The picture is Loch Laggan, it's certainly a bonnie part of the world. I use quite a few of my photos for desktops, they have memories as well as being pretty (sometimes).

As for posting desktops just open it up and hit print screen to copy it to the clipboard then paste it into an image program (MS Paint is sufficent for those using windows). A nicer thread look can be achieved by uploading a thumbnail too then having it as the link to the main image.

Gorgeous !!!

I very much wish the picture I'm using as my desktop was mine but it's not; it's by Demi-urgic on Deviantart. That's my Ubuntu boot; I have Vista for games (i.e., Morrowind) but I'm still using the default desktop there.

On my work computer, I use a number of strips from this webcomic which change randomly. It's awesomely funny but to get a LOT of the jokes and especially the best jokes you need end-of-undergrad/postgrad level knowledge in (pure) maths... I have to prove my maths geek cred, you know. nono.gif

Eh, why not.

Just upgraded to 7 (Windows Vista is officially almost as bad as freakin' ME!!!!) and will soon have XP up on a virtual system so I can play Morrowind again.

Taken at MegaCon 2010. Fun times, fun times.

Ugh! Fake paneling! dry.gif

My Dad put it up in the basement waaay back in the 70's. Made the whole place so dark and dreary. After he passed away in 2004, I couldn't rip it down fast enough! Give me drywall any day, thank you very much!

But I guess that's why they call it wallpaper in the Windows world. huh.gif

Well... Okay? I think it looks good -.-

I think my sentiments are echoed only by those who survived the '70's in the US. As for looking good, I would say the image was of good enough quality that I could recognize it as fake paneling! And if you like it, that's what matters. Your computer, not mine, right? wink.gif biggrin.gif

Yeah I play Daggerfall sometimes actually. But I use it mainly to play Cosmo's Cosmic Adventures - an epic side scroller from the early 90's smile.gif

I got hooked on "Chips Challenge," lol.

My current desktop.

I like to set it to nice landscape shots I've taken from Oblivion, though it does occasionally get other backdrops.

I love seeing other people's desktops!

here's my current desktop

And here it is in 2009

Big difference!
haute ecole rider
I really have no current desktop per se - my computer is set to rotate through a batch of images of my choosing. It changes about every five minutes or so.

So here's one I took about half an hour ago:

Looking south from the path at Hurricane Ridge

Then five minutes later: Another one from a little further along the path, using my long zoom lens.

Then: Looking west along the path on Hurricane Ridge.

I just love taking pictures of paths and roads. Don't know why.

And this one is one of my favorites. Looking east from Hurricane Hill. On the knoll just below you can see the path I had walked along. Just beyond its top the Hurricane Ridge Visitor Center is visible.

These photos are just four of over three hundred I took along Hurricane Ridge and from Hurricane Hill (the summit of the path) one day in July 2009. Hurricane Ridge is located in Olympic National Park (in Washington State) and is accessed from the Port Angeles gate. The day was perfect and I had a wonderful time. The whole walk was about three miles, but it went up several hundred feet, and I took my time. What a way to lose a day!

My current desktop. It is a photo I took on the way home from a jobsite about 2 years ago.

That's a pretty one, Rick. I've got a few of those. Comes from commuting 40+ miles through Midwestern farm country at all hours. Sunrise, sunset, storms, even the morning after a heavy ice storm.

Another one (Anvil sure looks different now, eh?):

The tsunami flooded it!

Btw, you can make things a little easier for people looking at your pictures to link to only the image, like this, and spare people multiple clicks to get to it.
Thomas Kaira
That's what I used to do before ImageShack removed that capability from their website (and I couldn't be bothered to sign up). I'll need to make an account with them real quick to get that sorted.

EDIT: There we go.

As for why Anvil looks so different, the city is open now (as well as Visible When Distant). That is as in no loading screens, I can just walk right through the gates.
Olen
imgur.com

It's the best image hosting site, it autogenerates thumbnails for you, and forum sized pictures, and lets you edit them somewhat online (rotations and resolution).

I very much recommend it.

Photobucket will also do all those. It is what I have been using for years.

WOO HOO! I see a doc that's titled "My Measurements!" My guess would be modelesque - tall and lithe. (framed by very expressive eyes and a faint smile).

Also: WOO HOO! Alienware !!!! WOOOOOOOT !!!
