Ian, getting angry with Rann

Ian knitted his brows and his eyes became icy and dangerous. "Tamriel has, since the beginning of time, been overned by a monarchy. Through it all it, dynasties rise and fall, regardless of how they are governed. There is no 'perfect' system of governement, even in a democrasy there will be corruption and strife."

He crossed the threshold of the chamber and stood close beside Rann and the two altmer. "And causes come and go, there is never a person who can keep completely white in a world of greys and blacks....." Suddenly, Ian noticed something pecular about one of the Altmer. He'd been skilled in Ilussion since childhood, and something wasn't right about this individuel.

Issac

Serene, rings a bell somewhere...... "Well, I think I've at least heard that name being whispered in one place or another." He began to grin slightly. "I don't remember much from before I met Ian, but my parents lived here, in the Imperial City, but they were killed by the Deadra during the Oblivion crisis."

His smile faded a little. "After the banishing of Mehrunes Dagon, Ian found me amongst the rubble; he took pity on me and took me as his adopted son. That's how I got to be what I am now, Ian taught me history, swordsmanship, and other traits that are useful today."

"Chancellor Ocato, has always been something of a second mentor to me, but he lived proudly. In the life of an agent, one must be ready to die or lose someone that's close to them......." His voice trailed off as he finished.

Voltar

Voltar felt a little under pressure as he hadn't been privy to Veric's plans beforehand, he wasn't expecting to run into the people Veric was seeking so soon. Voltar was quickly catching onto Veric's plan though; it seemed he was taking particular interest in bringing the young Dunmer onto his side. He also noticed that a young woman seemed particularly displeased with that.

Voltar leaned in towards Veric's ear and whispered into in, concealing his words with magic to ensure privacy. "Be wary of the young Imperial; she seems suspicious," he whispered, referring to Satyana.

"It's too bad you didn't get here a day or two earlier." he said. "You would've met two of your children."

Brianna

"My children?" she said slowly "I...I would have liked that...And youīre the father then?" She blushed again. She had children with this man! It sounded...well somewhat weird..but not at all unpleasant..no not at all!

Satyana gave Ian a quick glance, he also had some doubts about that man! She felt him thinking that and that somewhat pleased her that another one had the same doubts about him as she had.

She turned to Issac again:

"Iīm sure youīve heard of her" she smiled "Now wasnīt that good og Ian to take you on? He seems to be a good man, right?....Now are you an agent then?"

She kinda liked Issac, he was friendly and nice.....

"I never said it would be perfect, but it would be far preferrable to an Emperor. At least in a democracy, the people choose who leads them, not heritage." he said to Ian.

"Think for yourself for once and stop letting tradition do it for you."

Dalrus, Councilor Chamber

Dalrus's eyes seemed to be engulfed in flame, as they usually went when she was angry. "And democracy lets anyone have a say in something when they have no knowlege of what they are voting for. It brings former great empires to their knees in a mix of pure deceit, greed, slander, hate, and rivalry. Democracy makes it so the people in the government are too afraid to lose their position to do anything good. Democracy, no, is not what saves people's lives." she took a breath. "You say innocents die during Monarchy, yes but they always die. If someone in Democracy wants to do something about it, that person a war mongering dictator," she looked him straight in the eyes. The fire subsided from hers revealing her extremely emerald green eyes.

"And monarchy allows one man with bad intent to bring an empire to its knees. At least in a democracy it takes a majority to do it. I'd like to think that the majority of the Empire isn't as dumb as you all."

"And democracy twists the rivalry into something good; the spreading of power. Rivalry within a monarchy starts wars."

"None of the septims were bad leaders, what rulers are you talking about?" she said with mock interest. "Dumb you call us, your ignorance to a dream of democracy is the most sickeningly obtuse show of thinking that I have seen in a very long time, wake up Rann, the empire does not have and will not have a democracy, no matter how anti-monarchy thoughts you insufficient brain can conjure up," she said this and walked off.

Flint Ironwood, poking his head in through a window.

Flint had waited outside, clinging to a wall. Yet no one came. In the meantime, a messenger was shouting something about Leyawiin being burned to the ground. Flint could hear it, even as high above the ground as he was currently.
,,What is holding them up?" He wondered and poked his head through the window. It took him only a few moments to realize what was going on.

,,Excuse me! Politics is all nice to talk about in a tavern with a flin in your hand, but we've got bigger fish to fry. Leyawiin got burned by pirates! Now could you people stop arguing till after we saved the world? Democracy or Monarchy, both aren't perfect yet they're both preferable to anarchy. So unless you pack your bags and go help keep civilization intact, neither Democracy nor Monarchy are going to help us out." He shouted angrily. He then pulled his head back before one of the guards could aim an arrow at his face.

Ian

Flint's words seemed to be ones of wisdom to Ian's ears, so he was in agreement. "Flint is correct, this debate is over, we will discus this another time, Rann." Ian was hateing this situation more and more by the minute. "I made a vow to Rahvin to do my best to make sure as little people here got hurt as possible, and intend to keep my oaths." He mentally informed the youngest of group's members.

Ian began to walk toward the exit to the Palace, how am I supossed to keep an eye out for threats to the group when we're so devided? He hoped no one telepathic had heard that private thought.

Issac

Ian's words resonated through Issac's mind, as it did with the others.' "Come on Satyana, we'll talk as we walk." This is a familiar feeling, do I already have feelings for Satyana? We only just met yesterday

Rann

"The Septims weren't bad in what they did, merely in what the didn't do. They neglected to keep their subordinates in check. Look at Agnar, for example, or even the Great Houses of Morrowind. They almost have free reign in their territories, and haven't gotten more than a slap on the hand for the things they've done." he said to everyone there, since Dalrus had stormed off.

It seemed as if he had a mood swing as he suddenly smiled. "Now we can be done arguing."

Matching pace with Satyana, Issac mulled over this recent conflict. I like Rann, he is almost an agent at times, but this was......... He couldn't find a word to fit this new development, and he shook his head. Then a dire prospect came into play. Chancellor Ocato's assassination, the army in the East, this mer trying to recruit Rann, these hardly seem like coincidence.

Then he decided to resume conversing with 'Tyana. At least she doesn't seem to have some sort of conspiracy plot or anything like that.... Veric had not intended for his private conversation with Rann to explode into a full blown debate, but the issue worked itself out anyway. "If Leyawiin has been razed, I imagine it is something worth investigating. I have a few things to attend to, but perhaps I will see you on the road there," he finished with a smile and a parting handshake before walking off into the city.

Once out of ear shot and with a clear mind (to avoid any wandering telepaths) he said to Voltar who was in tow, "Sorry about that. My plans tend to form as the situation evolves. We are now the leaders of a rebellion."

Voltar nodded in acceptance to Veric's apology. "Do not worry, I caught on soon enough I believe. I'll keep that in mind from now on though," Voltar whispered back, taking the necessary precaution to ward his words and thoughts as well.

It definitely seemed to be a rather interesting bunch of people who made up the group. Plenty of youth and elders, so the formidability of them could be an annoyance at the least. Voltar shrugged indifferently and rolled his shoulders. It didn't really matter, they were all beneath him in ability. The best way to defeat them would be one-by-one. The heated discussions between some of the party members as gave Voltar the notion that they could pit the group against each other. Veric certainly seemed to catch on to that one.

In all due time, their goals would be met. Voltar was patient enough to let time take its effects.

Issac

"Well, one can be family in heart, if not in blood. Thanks for your faith in our abilities, but I think that there will be plenty to of trouble before all of this is resolved." Issac said sincerly. Indeed, I fear for the Empire, there is great deal worse threats then simple politicians grabbing power under the false banner of justice.

Satyana's comment about not knowing her real father caused Issac to feel slightly uneasy. Despite the fact that Ian had helped him try and find information about his parents he knew close to nothing about them. My parents were both Altmer, and for some reason I don't think they were happy with each other before they died....... He had no idea how he thought he knew they hadn't been happy, but it just felt right.

"My parents are both dead, but I don't remember enough to really miss them. But your father could be alive still........" Issac didn't know if Satyana's father was or not, but he felt compelled to console her in some way or another.

Issacīs thoughts about his fear for the Empire scared her and she had slight difficulties to not reveal herself ..

Then about his parents....not being happy with one another, that was sad but at least heīd had parents...she never knew hers.....not one of them in fact. All she had were Sereneīs stories.

"No my real father is not alive, he was a Nord, obviously!, and he was killed but I donīt know by whom. My mother, that is Rannīs and my mother, disappeared after we were born and hasnīt been seen since! Serene has been like my mother, the only mother I know of, and I love her deeply but...."

Flint Ironwood, silent.

Flint walked along without making a sound.
,,Just like before, we seem to do nothing but argue among ourselves. Sure, last time it worked out in the end but what about now? We're running a big risk here. Why did I get myself involved anyway? Oh yeah, Tamriel is in trouble and I have this stupid heroic streak." Flint absentmindedly dropped in at the Black Horse courier when they passed the building.

,,I need to get this letter to North Point in High Rock as soon as possible. To the Ironwood family. A payment of 2000 septims will be granted upon delivery." Flint said as he dropped his letter on the counter. He then headed outside again.
,,At least my family will be safe. For now, that is. If they ever get hurt, either by Veric or the owner of that voice in the east, I'll hunt the crook down and show him the true meaning of fear."

Green-Root, swimming.

Green-Root made rapid progress through the stormy sea. A glimmer of light in the distance caught his attention. The Argonian changed his course and headed towards it, even when the light had faded. Upon arrival, he saw several people swimming around with a group of sharks circling them.
,,If I help, they might reward me. Looks like tonight's dinner will be shark meat."

The Argonian exploded forwards with a speed none of the swimmers safe for the sharks could match. He reached behind his back and withdrew his spear, calling for it to form into Daedric as he plunged it into the first shark. The sharp tip made a large gap in the creature's heart and Green-Root watched its death throes for a moment before shooting off towards his next victim.

Hanging slightly away and to the right of the group, Ian consulted his map of Cyrodiil. Hmm.... it will take at least two days to reach Leyawiin, we still have some rations from the Countess, but we might hunt so we could save them for later......
Unexpectedly, Ian felt an abrupt burden of emotion, but it dissappeared as soon as it appeared. he cast a glance, and was slightly surprised to see Issac and Satyana walking side by side. This caused a small amount of mixed emotions go through Ian's mind, on one hand it was good that Issac was socializing and completely natural of someone his age. But he also felt a slight disapproval given the situation.......

I won't rush in and get in the middle, that would be counter-productive, but I'll just keep some healthy watch on them........ He guarded the thought, it seemed that Satyana also was a telepath, but Ian was more experienced with blocking a mental probe, and various other tricks with the mind.
He replaced his map into his sack, and picked up the pace........

Satyana's single tear caused Issac's heart to wrap around itself, and the fact she already knew that her father was dead meant his consolation was only sentimental in value. He continued walking alongsid her, but remained silent with nothing to say to her.........

After a few deep breaths, Arco sheathed his blade and continued to swim towards land and tried to catch up with the others. Fins were appearing everywhere, but Arco suddenly noticed a few violent splashes in the water some distance away from the group before it went dead quiet. He had no idea what it was, but what it just did was kill a shark.

Gaining on the group he suddenly caught the glimts of an argonian literally flying through the water quickly - with a spear on his back. What do you fear more than a shark in the water, a armed argonian. Even thought it seemed the argonian was helping, Arco had always been carefull around everyone and everything.

There's something else in the water, we should split from the group to the west and get to the shore - quickly.

Arco started swimming faster, trying to catch up with Serene.

The Breton's own thoughts made him shiver and he drew his cloak around him tighter, as if it could ward off the cold he felt within his soul.

Flogir

Flogir had kept silent as they left the murder scene, still going over the consequences of what would now happen. It was then that Ian approached him.

"That's right, shortly after Kvatch was liberated from the Daedra, the hero who saved us asked if there were any volunteers willing to go to Bruma to help protect the city as they expected another one of the Great Oblivion Gates to appear there. I was one of the few who decided to go. It felt good to be on the winning side of a battle. Though that doesn't go to say that it wasn't a hard fought battle, in fact it seemed more chaotic than the battle at Kvatch. It simply because we had more forces that we could actually put up a fight. I still have friends from that battle, who I usually talk to when I visit Bruma," Flogir said, reflection deep in his voice.

"From what I gathered, you seemed awfully involved in the Oblivion Crisis yourself. I figured it was more of the recognosice and such?" he inquired to the aged Imperial.
Lord Revan

Ian

"Yes, I was involved plenty." His voice dropped to an almost inaudible whisper. "Yes very involved......." Then he spoke in a normal voice. "I believe we might have briefly exchanged words in Bruma, you were in one of the tents on the Castle battlements?"

Issac

When Johnathan came around the corner, Issac had jumped back slightly on reflex. But the moment of surprise didn't last long, and he answered 'Tyana's question. "Here, take this one, I have plenty." And he handed it to her. "Well, we'd better hurry if we want to be able to help those people, right?
The Metal Mallet
Flogir

Flogir paused briefly, his mind recollecting the event. Realization then sparked in his eyes.

"Yes! I do remember that! You were there to wish us luck if I recall. Wow, you're memory is better than mine it seems. Must be the alcohol..." Flogir exclaimed, chuckling.

"Well it's good to know you survived that war!"

After splitting from the group it didn't take long for Arco and Serene to meet up again, making their way quickly for the shores of Cyrodiil.

Arco couldn't do much but smile when he felt ground beneath his feet as they came onto the shore south of Leyawiin. Arco immediately downed on of his potions, the potion quickly started to restore Arco's endurance and strength and threw away the vial into the woods before turning around. He sprinted off to some higher ground, some feet away, his eyes scouting for anything that could pinpoint their location. What caught his eye was smoke and flames rising from the north - Leyawiin was burning.

Arco leapt down from the boulder, landing right besides Serene.

"Leyawiin is burning - seems that our problems ain't over" Arco said in calm tone whilst checking that he had all his gear.

Satyana

"Gee..thanks!" she said, then followed Issac along "Yes letīs hurry"

Serene, on solid ground again

"Phew..that was to close for my taste" she muttered, downing a potion as well. She felt pretty strong after all but the sight of Leyawiin burning made her groan.

"Ahh ok Arco, letīs move it, but remember Iīm Adriana Moranis now....NOT Serene! ok? I donīt want to be recognised ..."

OOC: Got to go to bed now, Fuzz...drag her along will you?

Arco replied with a nod before they both headed towards Leyawiin's West Gate through the forest. Getting ever closer to Leyawiin they could hear the desperate cries of people in the city and see the huge fires arising from behind the walls.

Issac

It was still a long ways from Leyawiin, and Issac was anxous to get there in time to help out. "Satyana, you wouldn't happen to have a horse would you?"

OCC: So, Issac and Satyana are both near the stables in the Imperial City, Serene and Arco are outside Leyawiin, and the group is.........

Tritus Julius, Bruma
As it turned out, Roof hopping in Bruma is harder than it looks, Partiall due to the fact of the slanted roofs, and majorly due to the Bloody cold snow slicking up some of the thatch. "WHOAH!!" Tritus cried as he slipped on a particularly foul patch, sliding down to the edge and off, but managing to grab the wooden support of the building he was on. Now he is just hanging there, Convieniently right above Eurod and Galadrile. Gripping tightly to the edge of the Beam, Tritus shouts, "Uhh...LITTLE HELP HERE!"

Flint Ironwood, The stable of Jonathan's father.

They soon reached the stable.
,,Hello there, Jonathan sent us. We need a few horses to get to Leyawiin as fast as possible. Could you help us?" Flint called out to the older version of Jonathan standing near the stable.

Green-Root, Leyawiin.

Green-Root had finished killing sharks as well as secretly looting a few corpses. He munched on a fin as he swam back up the river. Leyawiin was still burning. He was sure he'd seen two persons climb to the shore around here.
,,I wonder where they went? Must be Leyawiin. I'll head to the gate and wait for them, to find out why they were swimming." The Argonian decided and rushed back to the harbor.

OOC: We'll just say they've all been travelling together.

Rann

Rann followed the main group, but from a distance. He kept to himself the whole time, both because he was bitter at his fellow travelers for being so ignorant (in his eyes at least) and because his thoughts were mostly on how he had been granted a great opportunity to make a great change in the world.

Rann walked upon the stables, suddenly realizing that his father's horse had been left in the Imperial City.

It's possible that the thing will survive the fire... he thought hopefully.

"I'll need one as well." he said to Jonathan's father, hoping that nobody would point out that he had been on a horse earlier.

Algren Constantine

"Jonathan!? You've seen my boy? Where is he?!" Algren exclaimed, he hadn't seen his son in nearly three years.

"If he sent these people he'll be coming, settle down you old fool.."

"Forgive me good sir, I'm afraid I haven't seen my son for quite some time." He motioned them in towards his house and ignored their request for horses for now. "Please come in, eat! It'll be a dark time for Cyrodil now and it might be the only hot meal you'll have in a while."

Jonathan Constantine

Jonathan sat upon Lila in the distance watching his father greet the travelers. "What am I going to say..."

Sodsa stopped when he came within close enough range to be considered polite, but wanted to give the old man some room, not wanting to look threatening. Sodsa thought about his 'mount' "I was told by your son that we would be able to receive some much needed transportation for our travels. Gah, were are my manners, I am Sodsa Hekal the Rogue, at your service Serjo..." Sodsa gave a short bow to hide his blank look and then came back up composed, "Erm, I'm sorry serjo, I don't think I ever caught your name." Sodsa managed a smirk.

hmph, looks like a spitting image of his son. almost creepy.

Sodsa shuddered but walked over to Jonathan's dad, extending a hand anyways.

Rann

"Ocato...he was, uh, killed." he said, never knowing what to say when talking about a recently deceased person. Sure, he didn't exactly like the way the Empire was governed, but Ocato was still a good mer, and didn't deserve death in his opinion. He did, however, look past the death itself and see a new beginning.

Flogir

Flogir was thinking about the safety of his mule when he arrived at Jonathan's Father's Stable. The idea of a hot meal did take his mind away from that though.

"A meal would be great. And I'm sure we won't be bothered by pillagers way out here, so we could probably get some rest, maybe study this book more," Flogir suggested, as it had been a rather traumatic and stressful day. He certainly felt the need for some rest at least. He didn't think there was much left to do today, as night was steadily approaching.

"We could leave for Leyawiin on the morrow, I think we can afford a night of recouperation."

Flint Ironwood, at the stable.

Flint shook his head. Weren't they wasting time with a discussion about politics just a moment ago?
,,I'm not so sure if we have time for that. Maybe some other..........ah, what the hell." He swallowed back his objection uopn seeing the annoyed looks he received all over.
,,Fine, we'll take a break then."

,,Ocato, yeah he got killed alright. More like slaughtered as if he was some pig. Like the animal raised for meat, not the insult one. Dark Brotherhood did it." Flint added his bit about Ocato's death.
,,Hey, I had nothing to do with it!" He added a bit nervous, just in case the Dark Brotherhood cloak would cause problems again.
