Voltar
Voltar didn't notice the look the stranger gave, as he began to fully concentrate at the matter at hand. The red hue of the staff began to intensify as Voltar stared down at the target. His eyes gleamed with power as he brought forth magic from the Alteration and Mythicism schools of magic, forming them together in complex patterns within his mind. All the while the Staff of Worldly Demise fed Voltar even more power to drawn upon.
A bead of sweat began to trickle down the side of Voltar's face as he built up the energies required for what he must do. Soon the room was filled with the green colour from the Daedra blood and the red hue of the staff, an odd humming noise was becoming more apparent.
Satisfied with his weavings, Voltar transferred them into the Staff, causing an arc of energy to burst from the Staff and collide with the amulet. Energy sparked from the impact and Voltar shook under the power unleashed from the staff, his face deep in concentration now.
Slowly, a grey void began to form above the amulet. It was violently swirling at first but as it grew, the void began to stablize, and Voltar seemed to loose the tension created by handling the Staff. A small, satisfied smile touched the corners of his lips as the arc of energy ceased its exit from the Staff. A grey, slowly swirling void hung suspended above the amulet. The void was roughly the size of doubled Inn doors.
Voltar took a seat in a nearby chair. His eyes still gleamed faintly of the energy he used.
"Now we wait. There should be a void that looks like that in his dimension; I targetted it appear in the vicinity of his amulet. All he has to do is walk through and he'll exit from this end of the void. But do not touch this amulet until he arrives, moving it will break the connection. I do not wish to perform this again," he warned.

The Silhouette, Valus Mountains
"Soon" he thought to himself as he looked over the calm of the valleys inbetween the large peaks. A small village lay nearly untouched in the center of the valley, the Silhouette had been moving through the mountains looking at everything when he saw it. Suddenly he jumped from his large mountain and swung onto a tree three hundred feet down. He climbed down the tree like a chimp and landed in a field where a young argonian was working.
"Death is upon you" he said in a cold voice as the argonian's eyes widened. Shadow seemed to pour out of his hand and the argonian literally dissolved. Ten minutes later and the village was in flames, all the inhabitants disintegrated. Something the Silhouette was looking for was not there, it did not matter soon he would be out of the mountains.

Sadril
Sadril chuckled lightly to himself, "So it's that simple? He just walks through the door and the barrier will be broken?" Sadril asked as he pulled up a chair and began to wait. Again the thought of stopping all of this flashed into Sadril's head.
He would simply kick the amulet to break the connection, turn and cut this man in half. He ignored this intuition however, and continued to wait. "You sure this'll work?" He asked, breaking the silence after a good twenty minutes had passed...
Veric, ???
The amulet, lying on a nightstand next to an unused bed, began to rattle. Veric turned from his desk to where the noise came from only to find a grey portal containing a set of doors floating above his stand.
"This is new," he said plainly as he inspected the doorway at first and refrained from entering. Eventually he scared himself with the thought that he might miss his only shot out of his cage and decided to take a chance, carefully climbing atop his nightstand to make himself level and opening the door, stepping through it.
A small shack north of Anvil
A loud clap resounded through the shack and surrounding woods just a moment before Veric stepped through the portal. He looked around the shack in a daze and saw two people. One he recognized as Sadril, but the other, an Altmer, he did not know.
Veric nodded at Sadril, a look of confusion still in his eyes, and turned to the stranger. Not knowing what else to do he extended a hand to the man, "How do you do?"

Voltar patiently sat in silence, awaiting the arrival of Veric; he had been patient 20 years, he could wait an additional 20 minutes if needed.
"I'm sure Veric is the careful type and will want to examine what I left for him, just be patient," he said, answering the stranger's question.
Moments later a loud clap sounded and Veric appeared outside the void. He shook the man's hand when he extended it towards him.
"I am fine, Veric. Allow me to introduce myself. My name is Voltar Simis, a mage of sorts I guess one would call me if they wanted to label me a trade. I take it you're wondering why I've released you?" Voltar inquired after introducing himself.

Altec the Wanderer
As a mage Altec was always apparent of the energies of Nirn, and more importantly when they were upset. Moments earlier there was a strange disturbance and, to the surprise of Altec himself, he was piqued at wat could cause such an immense shift in magicka.
Though not a very safe way of travelling, Altec deemed for the moment that teleportation was be the quickest link to this shift. There was always the unfortionate chance that one would appear inside the center of a tree, or rock, or even the world itself.
However Altec continued with the summoning and brought forth a portal he thought that would lead him to the source. As he stepped through his body felt electrified, a terrifying yet compelling experience, and in moments later he found himself laying on his back in the middle of some field..

Flogir, a little hungover and sore
Flogir waved at Dalrus as she entered the room. Flogir was nursing a light breakfast as he didn't feel too good to have something big and heavy.
"Looks like you were one of the lucky ones who didn't get involved in the little... "scuffle" we had last evening. Of course, that means you missed out on the celebration we had afterwards, which was fun, but now I'm paying for it," Flogir said, chuckling softly.

After smacking his lips, and feeling slightly better, Jonathan rose a question, "Did anyone else.. You know, feel something last night? I mean.. Damn, I'm not sure how to describe it.." He paused and rubbed the stuble on his chin, "Ah.. You know when a mage of the sort using magicka? The feeling that encompasses the air? Well anyways it was quite different.. The feeling that is.."

Voltar"Yes, you've trully been released. Take a step outside if you wished; you won't end up falling into Oblivion or anything of that sort," Voltar said, deciding to answer the second part to Veric's question first.
Voltar wasn't surprized that Veric merely "guessed" correctly why Voltar decided to release him. Of course, if he didn't decide to release him, he would've never discovered the Staff of Worldly Demise. That would've been most unfortunate to not possess.

Voltar
Voltar held the staff carefully in his hands, much like a mother would cradle an infant. "This is the Staff of Worldy Demise. Since your banishment, I decided to spend the next 20 years in figuring out how to release you. I stumbled upon this tome over here," he said, gestering to the large book on his table.
"When studying the tome, I discovered a way to break through dimensions, actually multiple ways. But in order to do any of them, I needed a ancient staff known as the the Staff of Worldly Demise. It took me 10 years of searching to retrieve and I eventually found it lost with the ruins of Chimer city in Morrowind. The staff allows the user to enhance their abilities with mythicism and alteration to mind boggling heights, but it also works as a catalyst to the breaking down of dimensional barriers as described in the tome."
"I then spent the next 10 years studying the incantations and spell structures needed to perform the void spell. I planned to create a link across dimensions by scratch, since I had no possessions that provided such a link. Fortunately, I met your friend here, who possessed such a link through that amulet there. Using the link, I didn't have to figure out how to make one from scratch anymore, and I knew what do after that. So, I simply had to manipulate the link of your amulets, using the incantations and the staff to channel the power necessary to break down the barrier and create the void."
"Impressive work, is it not?" Voltar asked, finishing his long speech. When it came to magic, he could spend a good amount of time speaking about it.

Chancellor Ocato was flying through a large pile of parchment. Issac noted that he looked like he hardly had any sleep last night. But then again, he's been carrying all of Tamriel on his shoulders for the last nineteen years...... He thought to himself.
Ocato stood up shakily, there were sacs under his eyes, and his wrinkles had become more pronounced. "Chancellor, is there something wrong?" Issac asked concerned.
"All crime has ground to a screeching halt, but...... but." He yawned heavily. "But there are plenty of other matters to replace that one, make no mistake about that." Ocato's fatigue was painfully evident.
"It might be best if you spent some more time on sleep, sire. When you're deprived of sleep, you can't concentrate and things only get worse, then if you had just put the paperwork down to remain healthy." Issac consoled him, he'd learned to deal with things like this in his training but he doubted Ocato had learned the same lessons in his youth.
"Your right Issac, but there are some matters that you can't just put down for later." Ocato rubbed his eyes, sleepily. "Well, you could consider getting an assistant, then you could balance it out." Issac reasoned.
"Issac, I have about twenty advisors, but sometimes I have to deal with decisons because I'm taught to do so....." Issac could understand that, the life of an agent was (in a crude manor of interpretation) accomplishing things for other people.

Surely after freeing him and allowing him his chance to get what he wants he wouldn't do that to me... No matter, as long as I have the Staff, I'm sure I match, possibly even surpass Veric in power. He is of no threat of me... he thought warily, his face an expression of nothingness.

He had to admit though, seeing a Redguard with those yellow eyes was somewhat unsettling.

Flint Ironwood.
Flint was waiting for an answer when he suddenly slapped his forehead.
,,Oh, I totally forgot! I'll be right back!" He told the group and then dashed back to the Bloated Float.
,,Look, sir. I need about three small bottles of flin and an apple. Could you provide that, please?" He asked the barkeeper, fidgeting around impatiently. The bartender nodded and dissappeared into the storage room.
There was the sound of crates being moved and a few muttered curses. Flint rolled his eyes.
,,This is going to take a while, might as well warn the others." The Breton thought and stepped outside again.
,,Hey, guys! My order is going to take a bit longer! I'll meet you at the library! Sir, please think about the letter. You can give me the answer later!" He shouted at the group before walking back inside and sitting down on a stool. He pulled the hood of his Dark Brotherhood cloak over his face. It had worked last night during a bar brawl, so it would probably be enough to keep any new customers off his back.

Veric
Veric and Voltar eventually made it to the Waterfront. Outside the Bloated Float a peculiar lot of people stood, among them a young man helping an equally young drunk woman. Veric's pace increased slightly as he walked straight through the lot, rather rudely. He assumed Voltar did the same right behind him.
He entered the Bloated Float, ordered a flin for himself and whatever Voltar would have. "So tell me about your background as a Mage," Veric said to Voltar as they settled in.

"Rann.. I think it would be a good idea to hurry to the library and get out of here. Now." His voiced softening to keep if from carrying.

VoltarVoltar followed alongside Veric as they went through the group milling outside the Float and entered. He chose a spot beside a man in a black hood, Veric sat to Voltar's left. Voltar ordered a glass of wine when Veric offered a buy a drink and then he turned towards the "Redguard".
"Well I was discovered by my town's local Mages Guild Chapter in the Summersett Isles. They soon found that I was naturally gifted under the schools of Conjuration, Alteration, and Mythicism. So I basically studied there for awile. I left because they sought to corner me into one school of magic. I simply couldn't abandon my focus on mastering as many schools as possible, so I decided to abandon those old oafs and teach myself how to master all magical schools. Turns out, it takes a lot of time to do so," he said, taking a sip of wine to wet his throat.
"My greatest strengths still lie in my abilities with Conjurative, Mystic, or Alternative magic, but I'm also quite proficient in Destruction, and I've learnt what I deemed necessary in Illusion. I guess during your absense, I would've been considered the greatest spellcaster on Nirn. Our course, that might be different now," he said and laughed dryly.

Veric"You flatter me. Though that's still quite a title to proclaim yourself to. Myself, I stick to the workings of Alteration and Illusion. I have found that a many number of things can be accomplished with a greater knowledge of both. Of course if you have done your research, which it seems you have, you probably know this," as Veric spoke Sadril entered the Bloated Float and sat to the left of Veric. He seemed flustered and slightly out of breath. "Eat well?" Veric asked in a sarcastic tone.
"I hate it when people lie in bed awake," Sadril replied before adding, "Do you know who the people are who were standing outside of this place?"

Flint Ironwood, waiting for his supplies.
The bartender was still making a mess of the storage room. In the meantime, two men had joined Flint at the bar. Well, not quite joined. They just happened to be sitting near, that's all. Flint couldn't help but listen in on the conversation, old thieve skills kicking in.
,,Wow, not exactly too modest there, are we? Best spellcaster in Nirn?"
Flint turned towards the two new ones. He'd become curious.
,,Forgive me for intruding on your conversation. I heard that you are a spellcaster? I must admit I've never seen a Redguard spellcaster before. I guess I'm still vulnerable to prejudices. Sorry about that." He said and then glanced towards the open door beyond which the bartender let out a particular violent curse as he dropped a barrel on his foot.
Flint frowned, both because of the curse and because of what he'd seen.
,,Yellow eyes. Creepy........yet why do I have the feeling I've seen those eyes before?"
It was then that a familiar man walked in. Flint's could just prevent his mouth from falling open.
,,Crap! It's that vampire! I haven't seen him since.....twenty years ago! Those eyes, they belong to that Breton! Crap again!"
Flint rose up from his stool.
,,Hey, know what? I don't have time for you to find my supplies. I'm off!" He shouted at the bartender and left the Bloated Float as fast as he could without looking suspicious. Once outside, he broke into a full speed run.
,,I have to warn the others. Me and my paranoia, I hate it when my paranoia is right."

Voltar
Voltar shrugged his shoulder indifferently to answer Sadril's question. It was then that the hooded man decided to vacate the Bloated Float, a worried expression on his face.
"Hmm, it seems that you two have unsettled that man," Voltar remarked.

Sadril
Sadril watched the hooded man leave abruptly. He gave one look at Veric, to which Veric replied with a nod. As quickly as the hooded man had left Sadril was out the door, knocking a chair over as he ran out.
He stepped outside, looked around and saw the hooded man sprinting away in the distance. He sprinted after him, and although the vampire was faster than the fleeing Breton there was no telling if Sadril would reach him before he reached whomever he was trying to warn.
Still, Sadril ran as fast as he could, prepared to cut down the hooded figure if necessary.
Veric
Veric chuckled, "Don't worry, Sadril should handle it. Your expertise in Destruction, they wouldn't happen to entail the sinking of boats from the inside, would they?" he asked quietly. More than likely it wouldn't come to such a thing, but Veric felt that making a statement may be in order.

Long one, sorry
Hecate
Imperial Prison, CyrodiilChained to the old, rough stone wall encased in shadows Hecate silently glared at the locks around his wrists. He’d been watching these locks for twenty years. He dodged the sentence of getting executed the day he got captured by the guards, wasn’t hard as Hecate was the type that did not fear death, so locking him up in chains for the rest of his life would fit much better – too bad that would be a lethal mistake.
Twenty years had been long enough for this assassin and he’d already found a way out from these chains. Simply by bashing on locks against the stone wall for twenty years along with trying to pick the lock was enough to break it open. Still something about this night felt different, like it was ment for him to escape.
As the nightfall approached and the room went totally dark, Hecate rose up and threw the locks to the side and slowly moved towards the cell door. With his back against the wall and hands following the rough surface he moved up to the door waiting for the new watch guard. He soon heard the sound of iron boots making their way down the arched stairs.
As the guard walked by Hecate’s cell Hecate’s right hand launched out and grabbed the guards arm and jerked it against the celldoor, sending the guard crashing into the iron bars. Hecate followed with a quick twist of the guard’s wrist, meanwhile his left arm grabbed the guard’s throat setting the fingers deep into his windpipe; choking the guard along with silencing him. Hecate’s right arm came up quickly after, grabbing the guards jaw whilst the left changed grip, with a swift movement the guard’s neck snapped instantly and Hecate guided his limb body to the ground before taking his key and opening the cell door. Hecate could only but give off a cruel smile as his hands hadn’t taken any life for over twenty years.
Hecate opened the cell door and quickly made his way for the arch stairs, grabbing the guard’s sword on the way.
Simple. He unlocked the door at the top and entered a circular room with an Imperial Jailer sitting by a desk in the middle. The jailer was stunned for a moment before he suddenly saw Hecate leaping forward with the sword. The Jailer threw himself to the side, grabbing his large mace and brought up his mace wonderfully and blocked Hecate’s strike.
Hecate went a few steps back getting in position before the jailer charged forward, his mace coming down quickly. Hecate's blade intercepted the strike, reflecting the mace to the right whilst taking a wide step to the left.
The jailer nearly stumbled forward, crashing into the wall but he quickly altered his feet and tackled Hecate before his mace followed his move. The furious mace came sideways for Hecate’s neck, Hecate managed to duck in the last moment and launched a quick but clumsy thrust for the jailers stomach which just bounced of the jailer’s tough armor.
Hecate sighed; he had surely gotten slower and less precise. He snapped out of the thought once he saw that the mace came down against the now crouched assassin. Hecate suddenly made a quick step aside, dodging the mace before leaping up into the air. Whilst in the air the assassin flipped his blade into an end-over-end spin, before catching it with a reverse grip and thrust it straight into the forehead of the jailer before landing gently – leaving the sword in the jailers face. The jailer stood still for a moment with wide-open eyes before he slowly fell backwards hitting the floor dead.
Hecate leaned over the dead imperial before he looked at his palm.
Didn’t expect doing that when I was over fifty.Moving his eyes away from his palm, Hecate scanned the crates in the room – knowing his equipment should be in one of them. After finding his gear, Hecate stuffed all of it except his weapons into a small backpack and attached his sheaths to his belt.
Hecate opened the door out to the prison courtyard, diving into the shadows unnoticed. He made his way swiftly past the guards outside before reaching the houses along the wall. He made his way up on the roofs unseen before climbing the last feet before getting over the edge of the huge wall and dove off the side landing hard in the bushes outside and took off into the night. Hecate was free but the news would come soon.
Hecate made his way along the City Isle, heading for the Waterfront where he could easily overtake a shack and gather some food. He was already drained by energy escaping and hadn’t had a real good meal in twenty years.

Flint Ironwood, putting a bit of pace in his step.
Flint got increasingly worried as he kept running. He also became increasingly tired.
,,I'm too old for this." He muttered and stopped for a moment to catch a breath. He looked around and saw the vampire running towards him.
,,Oh, how often do I have to think crap today?" The Breton though to himself. He knew that he could never outrun the vampire. He hadn't been able to do that twenty years ago and he definitely couldn't now. Though outjumping was a whole different story.
There was a slight focussing of Magicka, then the man shot up into the sky, straight towards the tower at the center of the city. He could see the group he was supposed to meet down below and altered his course so he would land right between them.
,,Ok, now this is definitely not my idea of a nice day."
(Note: Sadril might recognize the jumping spell used. It is a typical Flint thing. I don't know if he can keep up though. Who knows? My vampiric knowledge doesn't say how good their aerial mobility is.)

Voltar Heh, less than one day of returning Veric to this dimension and we're all ready running into his old "friends" Voltar thought, returning his attention back to Veric.
"Well, boats are flammable, and it wouldn't take too much to punch a hole through the hull," Voltar comtemplated, looking around at his surroundings, "With all the alcohol in this place, fire would likely cause it to sink with a bang. Probably need a resist fire spell to make sure we don't roast ourselves," he added.
It was looking that things could possibly get a little heated around here. Ohwell, Voltar would do what he must.

SadrilThat's Flint's old trick. That damn Breaton still persists? Not missing a beat, Sadril altered his course on the ground to match the direction Flint had taken off towards. His instincts began kicking in and he could almost feel himself begin to lose control. It had been a long while since he had a good hunt. He watched the figure land and took note of the general area, although the tall walls of the Imperial City made that slightly hard to do.
Flint's trick had probably only bought him a few extra moments, Sadril would be upon him and now the others shortly.
