Since when were avatars about trends? Mine is of me indifferent.gif

Speaking of which, I need to replace it (my hair is so much better than that now).
Megil Tel-Zeke
i have to agree i never understood the trend avatars.
The Metal Mallet
Mine have always been things I like, so far it's just been two avatars; this one and one of Pantsman (a character from a webcomic I read).
Channler
Well I just googled avatars one day found mine.. so I wonder where doomeds avatar struggle came from.. (ploy on class struggle smile.gif)

Damn jewels for that axe are giving me hell >< I have to google for schematics of jewel cutting... damnit, I am becoming a jeweler and not weaponsmith ! sad.gif

Since Rane got ahold of it.

Merely a small attempt to create the illusion of variation.

Ah, sorry. Bringing other forum business on here, but still.. I want very much for this project to go through.

Oh, the drama. Bad internet soap opera at its best?
Anyway, since progress on the Epic Dark Brotherhood mod seems to have come to a complete stop, this was the only "big" DB mod still being worked on. Would be a pity if the recent events inside the team caused the fall of this project as well.

Let it be known that new users now no longer start out in the 'members' group, but rather have to prove themselves before they can enjoy certain privileges. This is a measure to reduce spam on this forum. We don't get much of it, but it's still very annoying, so we're doing something about it.

And I was having such a blast taking care of those spammers...

Random replies of rambling aside, I don't have much to write. The weather here has been better and this constant rain has made me really wish we wouldn't be spending the entire Thursday and Friday outside.
I can't say that I'm looking forward to that.
Intestinal Chaos
Not much going on here. I recently got my computer back.. and it's as dead as ever. Still, it's not a big problem, all it needs is a good drive wiping. In other news, I'm having an important visitor in a few days, that should prove to be more than a good time.
DoomedOne
I've been going through fits of depression as my trip to Peru approaches. I've been wasting this whole summer, because I had the hamster cave move and I don't know anybody, hamster this compassion. hamster it.
Wolfie
Gah, i have to go back to school in a couple of weeks...
And this is my most important year of schooling, because the tests i take at the end of 6th year (the year i'm going into) basically decide the rest of your life
Ibis
Cool Chaos,,, rolling out the red carpet for an important visitor! Hey, I am sossossos so happy to see you back again online so much and here at Chorrol. Guess you could give Varr's bf some good hints on getting lost, aye? wacko.gif

Rane, I hope they don't stick you out in the rain for 2 days ... soggy is no fun atall!

Talking of Avvy origins, this one is my Deana Thundra character in Guild Wars. I'd like to go back to my Geonox's Gift of the Ocean one - except I want to use his new nude one that really wears symbols all over her body instead of clothes (sort of an aquatic Goldie Hawn of Laff-In) ... but would I be allowed to use it or would it be considered too nude. Guess I'll pm Stargel about that.

*Mil - I've got some good jewel textures if you need any. What color are you looking for? I've got emeralds, diamond, yellow diamond, ruby & saphire and a few cats eyes.
milanius
Well, I managed to cut a simple gem for that forsaken axe, and I've made Uber-Human effort to complete solids that will become mesh [yeah, Ibis can start rejoycing... or maybe not yet ??], so now I have to find some texture that resembles jade... uuugh >_<

edit: Naaaah, emerald isn't the problem. The problem is JADE for handle, snake ornaments and few other parts.
Ibis
Milanius,
I'm emailing you a few jade textures right now. I just gotta get a MW prob with the patches straightened out before getting to the 3D programs. I've got Blender open for learning to model for Obliv and 3ds max5 for MW

My new avatar trend... officially:

Every month I will switch it from one hero to another (note: I only pick heroes with depth, not flat characters that have never had to face a hard decision in their life... sorry Stan Lee)

I've been in school for a week now.

And I have to say, I don't know which class I will hate more due to work: Newspaper 1 or AP Language and Composition. <_<

OMG.. newspaper sucked.. it wasn't that I had to write the stories is was because whatever I wrote was brought to editors attention because "I wasn't writing on HOW the newspaper is based"

Thats retarded and doesn't make to much sense till I find my newspaper story completely edited and liberalized.

I was doing a story on having children while in highschool... It turned into 'Have children while in highschool'

Will you be doing any school now that you are back on home turf, Chaos?
Intestinal Chaos
Actually, yes, I will be. I should be starting at a new highschool in roughly 3 weeks. This will have been my third highschool (I seem to get a new highschool every year).

I know how you feel, man. I went to six different schools in five years. (Three of them being high schools) But I'm finally set on this one, and it doesn't look like I'm switching any time soon.

Speaking of school, I start in about seven and a half hours.

COLLEGE
The Metal Mallet
I decided to take an extra year of grade 12, just because I could commit to any particular field for college/university. The things I like are too varied. Like I enjoy writing/englishy stuff, but then I like digital electronics. So it's hard for me to decide, because I don't really see a way to combine the two. Ohwell, now I'm literally the top of the food chain at highschool tongue.gif

Let's hope that FINALLY brings me some popularity! tongue.gif
Intestinal Chaos
Hoo, speaking of taking an extra year, I have a confession. This will be my third year of 9th grade. I was about to drop out and settle for my GED, but I'd rather complete school. You see, I've been a huge slacker since I firsted started school and I nearly didn't pass 8th (but how one passes 8th grade with straight F's is beyond me). I'm suffering for my complete lack of drive now that I've decided to make something of my life. This is what I get for being an arrogant jackass and never working because it wasn't "challenging enough".

Karma sucks, man indifferent.gif
DoomedOne
It's not kharma, it's the systgem trying to weed out the undesirables. Man... they don't want you to be inspired, they waqnt you to do drugs, the system wants you fail... so you end up a dead beat and do menial labor on the bottom of the food chain. In order to beat the system you have to succeed in it.
Intestinal Chaos
Well, I've already decided to start (attempting to) succeed. I know everything I should know about life and the real world, I've just been a complete jackass and a lazy boatmaster. I've been selfish, greedy, and deceptive, that's no way to go through life. I'm living for me and the other people in my life. Plus I have a girl I actually genuinely care about and our future isn't going to work out if I'm going to be a self-centered pric and a lie-about.
Ibis
The Metal Mallet, if you can drive when other people can't and are willing to be a taxi service for the popular underclassmen kids, you will be so popular it is beyond belief. At least, that's what one guy at our high school did who repeated a grade.

Hey, I like your attitude Chaos! Especially where your gf is concerned. That seems to happen to alot of actually very intelligent people, that they get bored by the mundane, middle of the road style education aimed at the less enlightened students ... and they wind up turned off by the class. Or direct their energies in other channels than their school subjects. I'm glad to see you are realizing it and yeh, it helps later on in life to have the good grades. Everything from your sophomore year of high school on through grad school matters.

Whatever else you do, if you can't decide on a distinct course, get an associate of arts degree from a two year college. That is your ticket in to any college of your choice later as long as your grades are 3.0 or above.
Channler

Chaos your an amazing person if only (but not just because) this one statement..

Making that decision is the first and most important step in the process to succeeding. And from your stories it seems that you've had a hella hard life, much harder then my lifes been and still your here and wanting another shot at it. For that I think your an awesome person that has extreme potential and to not persue that would be waist at life.

The system doesn't weed you out, you weed yourself out.

Thank you, it's actually compliments like those that help my confidence. I've really only spoken about my bout with homelessnes and my school troubles, and yet you still think I have a hard life. There are other things I've never discussed, and I have a few others that are on par with these two, but anyways.. Thank you for your kind words smile.gif

Chaos, I know that you have weathered through some strong family storms as well; and I too admire you greatly for the strong person that you are ... especially at your age. It takes a decisive person to stand up for your own beliefs, freedoms and rights against others who would say they are the majority so you must follow them. You are such an idividual man - I love to see it!

Hey so here's something a friend of mine posted that I posted here but it was locked, it's a story that's both hilarious and horrible at the same time.

Drug-related anecdote

Intestinal Chaos
Right, I remember that. I remember laughing at one part and then feeling horrible about it. It's so much worse that it actually happened. I could never do anything like that, even though my first experience was comfortable and safe. I have an easily addictive nature, and while I realise most do not have any addictive properties to them, I tend to get carried away with just about anything that I could use to medicate my mood. This has run the gamut from food, video games, and even (regretably) self harm.

That was a dark period on my life that I've gotten over now and I'm better for it. I've learned serious things about addiciton through firsthand experience, and I'm still in recovery. I've been doing it for my girlfriend, whom I care about very much. I've been clean for at least a month and a half, and that's actually quite the feat for me. I've been free of my self-imposed prison of self-loathing, pity mongering, and morbid thoughts and I never intend on returning to it.
DoomedOne
I didn mention this happened to someone else, right? I've never taken doages that high, I've barely touched the surface. I have my own stories if you'd like to hear them, they're not bad. Anyway yeah, I quit all drugs besides psychedellics. I never really took them, anyway.

And stomach ache, none of that stuff is addictive, nothing I mentioned, nothing I would ever try to start a topic about is addictive. I don't believe in promoting things to be sued to make you forget your problems. I would never promote something that can lead you down a hard path where it starts out fun then just sucks. It required a level of personal responsibility to take psychedellic substances but there are a different class than anything else. They're not used so you can forget your problems, they're not addictive, they just don't work that way. Usually they make for incredible experiences you'll take with you your entire life.

But I was trained, I guess, my friends are 'heads, they know how to handle their trips, they know how to build a correct environment, they know how to prevent crap like the story I posted from happening.
Megil Tel-Zeke
Hey everyone. the hecticness of the school year has started. back to working at the coffeeshop *yay* gonna get two raises this year which means that I'll finally be making at least $7.00 an hour. and classes are so far, very interesting, though this year might actually prove to be a challenge(for the first time in college, but I did sign up for as many challenging courses as I could because college so far has been a waste of money in my opinion)

Anyways my absence has been due not to school and work, but to of all things a fried network card and modem. so it seems that a lightning storm decided to fry not only the network card on m pc, but also the ethernet port on the actual modem. so after replacing the network card, and still incapable of connecting to the internet I have had to wait until I could get a replacement modem to get online. I am not sure if the damage from the surge was only to the network card, as it seems that during startup the BIOS sometimes does strange things (like saying that a new CPu has been installed, or that new hardware has been detected, or simply not starting) so I suspect that the surge might have frazzled my MOBO. but I am not sure. In fact not sure how I can check to see the extent of the damage. any ideas are welcome.

and I keep seeing the ex-bf all over campus which i don't particularly care for :S. it seems he has also decided to start talking to me again. Not sure what to make of the situation

No, I mean I'm easily addicted to things that aren't even addictive. It's just a personality thing and a personal weakness. I have to watch my habits with anything enjoyable, or I can take it too far very easily without noticing.

Yeah, well. It's the (late) middle of the night, and I just endured an hour of way too loud music from my neighbours, until I called the police. Of course when they got here, the neighbours had stopped for over 10 minutes. Go figure. My head is pounding and I'm really annoyed. I'm thinking of removing their fuses next time they go rock concert on me in the middle of the night. Anyone else got a problem with moronic neighbours?

Hmn, when I was homeless for a while I was staying with random friend-of-friends and I once stayed in this low-rent apartment complex in Bend. The neighbors below us would play this annoying rap and techno music non-stop and you could hear it (and feel it) through the floor. They actually had the nerve to complain when we played DDR lightly and we actually got yelled at for it, and yet when we complained about them (and we weren't the only ones) there was zero retribution.
The Metal Mallet
I'm surprised that hasn't happened at my place a couple of times, my brothers tend to like to blare their music out of the windows of the house when they have company over. Plus, when we had like 70+ people crammed into our house for my brother's birthday I'm surprised no one called the cops. Lucky me I guess I didn't have to deal with that. We're not in a secluded area too, just a housing district, I guess the woods must drown out some of the sound. Or my neighbours are very considerate.
Ibis
Yes TMM ... your neighborhood surprises me too. I still cannot believe you all pulled off a blockparty so well. whistling.gif Kudos!!

Chaos, someday you and I are going to sit down together @ MySpace and have a long chat about your wanderings and homelessness observations .... I would love to here them. Being vagrant, with no anchor place of your own, tends to heighten the senses & puts you in a very good observation of life mode. huh.gif

Yay! Stargel has the Cute Kitten Police out again. Yes Starg, we have had irritating neighbors ... in the condo right above us. Luckily these condos are extremely well soundproofed, but when this couple upstairs would play their rap or reggae music supersonically all we could hear was the thumping bass beat. Happily (for us) they argued & fistfighted their way right out of this condo complex, courtesy of the police. ohmy.gif wacko.gif

Megil, I would take the renewed interest on the part of a previous bf to mean as a sign of regret or perhaps renewed interest.

Doomie honey, shrooms can be addictive ... I knew a couple in TX whose extra refrigerator was jampacked full of freeze-dried cowpattie-blooms that they made a fortune from shipping to NYC. But they were totally addicted. Also, mariquanna is addictive despite what people say ... try stopping. It's hard, whether you blame it on the lifestyle, friends, whatever. We quit and our lives entirely changed = all that dope money going to drums, bass guitar, computers, video games, clothing, etc. And all the people we thought were our friends turned out to be mooching hangers-on .... we never see any of them anymore. nono.gif
DoomedOne
It's habit forming but it's not addictive in the sense that your body craves it. Shrooms are hard to get addicted to but people who get used to them can form habits as well. I'm not really irresponsible like that. I smoked for 2 years straight and couldn't even get addicted to that, I just got pissed off for like a month straight after I stopped smoking.

But I'm just one of those people that can't get addicted to anything, except cocaine, which was a conscious decision and a conscious mistake that I'll never go back to. The thing is, people say you have to give up your control to a higher power and admit defeat and work your way to success, but to me that's BS, the only way I ever quit was by not thinking I was addicted, and choosing to quit just because.

Anyway, that shall be my last post... I'm going to Peru for the next 9 days. Enjoy yourselves, I'll bring stories back with me.
Ibis
Have a great Peruvian holiday, Doom!! Wouldn't it be funny if he brought back a Peruvian bride??? laugh.gif
DoomedOne
Heh, I have so many souvineirs I have to get... wouldn't have been surprised if one of my friends asked for a bride right about now.
