Ah yes, Colonel Klink is from ... agh.... it's a show that was on when I was a kid, though I never watched this show. Hogan's Heroes??? I think that was it. I don't feel like Googling. biggrin.gif It was some funny war show. Not M*A*S*H though.

rollinglaugh.gif He wears his cap while bathing! rollinglaugh.gif laugh.gif
SubRosa
Colonel Klink was from Hogans Heroes. Sergeant Shultz too.

Cleanliness is next to Hoboness! Dogmeat is trying to figure out what it going on.

He's a Hobo With A Shotgun!

Hobo's riding the Railroad... Rifle. smile.gif

Great shot of the grenade before it goes off!

The Hobo Diner is always ready to serve up some high explosives!
Lopov
@Renee - the Hobo takes good care of his hat and he's afraid that if he put it down, Dogmeat would play with it. tongue.gif

@SubRosa - maybe Dogmeat wants to have some fun in the bathtub as well. This bathtub, located on Cheste Acres Dairy Farm, actually has some water inside, that's why the Hobo went in.

The ballistic shotgun is powerful when used in VATS, otherwise it's hard to make a good shot.

The Hobo is against slavery

Fiery punishment

This slaver fled and the Hobo granted him life

A slave no more

It was a mistake to come back, slaver
SubRosa
The Hobo is emancipating the Wasteland. He needs to wear the Lincoln Hat when he kill slavers... wink.gif

Crispy Slaver!
Lopov
I don't think he'll trade his Chinese General Hat for anything else. wink.gif

Sitting on the edge

Attacked by Wheaton raiders

Jump, jump!

Objection overruled

Big Hobo

Wheaton Armory

Corporal Punishment

Corporal on duty
SubRosa
Be careful up there Hobo!

I was expecting the raiders to all look like Wil Wheaton.

Is Corporal Punishment one of Renee's characters? wink.gif
Renee
"He always takes good care of his hat..." rollinglaugh.gif

Wow, check out the expression on that slaver's face! ohmy.gif He's like "OH [censored] I had no idea!" panic.gif

Next set of pics: okay so THE Hobo isn't afraid of heights like I am. indifferent.gif

Wheaton is an actual town, south of where I live. I've never been there though. Is that armory vanilla?

Lopov
@SubRosa - maybe Corporal Punishment is one of future Renee's characters. I had a feeling that a gnome was hiding somewhere in those ruins so we thoroughly searched the place - and we were right.

@Renee - Yes, it's vanilla. The actual armory is underground, these ruins are what remains outside. The Hobo didn't venture down to the armory because it's heavily irradiated.

I have a Fallout: New Vegas game in progress as well, though I haven't played in a while, so I figure as may as well submit some screenshots of that too smile.gif
My character, btw, is very skilled in Science and Repairs, so the "Nerdy" tag even fits! biggrin.gif

Bronzed and Nerdy (if you notice that this has different lighting compared to those below, I took it before changing weather mods)

Thank you! Heh! "Deadly Hipster Vibe," I love it! biggrin.gif

Her name is Jaquelle... and now I think about it, I *must* have been in Breton-speak mode when I created her.... kvright.gif
Ah well... the name is offbeat enough, I suppose, that hipsters might actually like it.
Lopov
Just like Cyrodiil, your Mojave looks great too.

As does Jaquelle - despite modded, you managed to retain wastelandish look. Her bandana blends nice with her hair. Where was "On the look out" pic taken? I don't recognize it because the garden and the sun collector behind her are probably modded.

I have two characters in New Vegas - rough bounty hunter Blondie and refined Mojave enterpreneur / Lucky 38 CEO Red Orchid.
Renee
Awww AWW what a cutie! wub.gif

I began playing New Vegas this past summer, too. On Xbox now, but I'll probably start playing PC next year. Even on console though, I notice how much more vibrant and colorful the Mojave is in comparison to the Capitol Wasteland. Those high desert winds must have blown away all the yucky polluted air, or something.

Lopov I haven't seen either of those pics before!

Between the glasses and the bandanna, Jaquelle looks like a hippie nerd to me as well!

Your Mojave looks great! Isn't it amazing how much better FO3 and NV look with the weather modded over the vanilla appearance? The sad thing is you don't even need to add any new assets to make it look good. All you have to do it set the color values to something realistic (yes, that is shade being thrown on you Bethesda and Obsidian).
ArtemisNoir
Thanks all, glad you like the shots. smile.gif I had a lot of fun taking them.

@Lopov,
Cheers! When I create characters, even when modded, I try to ensure they look as though they belong in the game world, so I really appreciate your comment.
The image was taken just outside of the Raven's Nest house, which is a reasonably short walk from Jacobstown.
I LOVE your characters, and how different they are from one another!

@Renee,
Awww.. thanks smile.gif I was trying to go for something that was attractive, but didn't deviate too far from vanilla. I actually have never played FO3, to be honest. Typically, I have tended more toward fantasy than futuristic/apocalyptic games, but in August GOG had all of their Bethesda titles on sale for 50% off, and since I'd heard amazing things about New Vegas, I grabbed it. I'm now wishing I'd also picked up F03, but ah well, maybe another time. As you know, unmodded FO:NV has that sepia filter that makes everything look brownish, but I've seen screenshots of FO3, and I agree, the sepia is still an improvement; in my opinion, at least.

@SubRosa,
Heh! Well, considering I live on the Canadian west coast, maybe the hippie nerd look isn't totally surprising! biggrin.gif

Yeah... Admittedly, I'm also using texture replacers, but the biggest visual difference to my game happened when I installed the weather mod... it was bloody astounding actually, I was floored!
btw, I just started reading your "Teresa of the Faint Smile" story, and I'm really loving it... A cosy way to spend a grey, dreary afternoon along with a pot of coffee.

Still haven't gotten to use those screenshot tips I was taught, but I found some screenshots I still liked (minus any HUD, enemy health bars, etc.

Cleaning House

Bringing the Pain

A Strangely Friendly Radscorpion

Evil Lurks Within These Halls

The Bus Driver Sure is Taking His Time...

Just Taking a Nap

Spring-Loaded Deathclaw (somehow, this Deathclaw shot up into the atmosphere upon death, never to be seen again)

Close Call (one more hit on our spaceship and we would've been dead)

Hope that wasn't too many. Whoops.

Finally found that other screenshot I wanted.

Remnants of a World Long Gone
Lopov
@ArtemisNoir2 - thanks! I forgot of one character, and that's Lee Cyeng. I still keep his saves though his story is mostly finished ever since he fell in love and prefers to spend time with his girlfriend. wub.gif But maybe one day he'll long for another adventure.

@RaderOfTheLostArk - nice to see that your character manages to keep perfect hairstyle despite harshness of the Capital Wasteland. laugh.gif

I've encountered friendly feral ghouls but not radscorpions. I'd still be afraid getting so close to it, though, what if it changes its mind. indifferent.gif

I assume she helped that Talon merc to his nap? laugh.gif

Yeah I was gonna say, she's sporting a Prim 'n' Proper while adventuring! Not a Wendy the Welder or Rough Night!

Love the action in that first shot, Raiders. Looks like a SWAT raid taking place.

Artemis: There's no rush to get into FO3. I myself tried 3 back in 2013, but didn't get into New Vegas until this past summer. But with 3, it was only after Lopov told me it's set in the DC area, which is 40 minutes south where I live, I just had to see how Beth handled this game! I was turned off by the idea of nuclear war, but turns out, the war is long over. And this game is not just about combat; it's got a lot of humor in it too.

In general, FO3 is more of an explorers' game, while FONV has more story, more consequences, but not as much stuff to explore.

Haha, she always makes sure she looks good no matter where her adventures take her.

I'm sure it was just a bug. I was getting red to unload on it, but I realized that its name was in green, so I left it be.

Ghouls, raiders, super mutants, Enclave, you name it: her hair is always looking great no matter who or what she runs into.

Thanks. Yeah, VATS makes for some good screenshots if you can get them time.
SubRosa
That is a funny looking broom you are cleaning the house with! laugh.gif

Once and a while I have had Raiders or other monsters forget that they are supposed to be hostile. It is always a pleasant surprise.

Deathclaw flyiiiinnnn soooo hiiiiiigh! (I have gotten Deathclaws in Old Olney flying directly up into space several times as well. The Law of Gravity is not enforced there.

Blasting ET!

Remnants looks both haunting and hilarious at the same time.

I have another screenshot where a Super Mutant Overlord shot up like a rocket, although he ultimately didn't quite sail as high. It was in a large square somewhere in the D.C. ruins, but he spawned on a small platform right below a roof on some building and he couldn't really move more than a few feet. Luckily I knocked his weapon out of his hand and laid into him with the missile launcher. And there he goes...

Haha, yeah, having the flag of the Fallout universe's United States flag was a strange juxtaposition next to a toiler and plunger. But hey, they are both remnants.
SubRosa
I know where that mutant is. It is in a way back corner of Georgetown. I believe the Penn Ave/Georgetown metro is across the square.
RaderOfTheLostArk
More screenshots! And now with the cool tips I was taught!

Come and Get it reminds me of crypts found in Cyrodiil.

No head, no problem.

No HUD - better screenies! goodjob.gif

Your girl has quite an assortment of weapons to choose from.

If blood on screen bothers you, it can be disabled with a mod.
Renee
Pwnage pwnage! Pwn those bots, Lone Wanderer!

I love that silly Nuka Break billboard in the background of Vengeance. laugh.gif Such a juxtaposition.

SubRosa
Rader: Talon Compannny!

I don't think he feels lucky! Every man's got to know his limitations...

That guy's head was just not in the game...

Lopov
I found a bunch of old screenies today, which I'm quite sure I've never posted. Perhaps some of you will recall my old character Alan Webb, a no-nonsense merc, whose main purpose was to fight against the Legion with his companion Craig Boone. Though Webb's story came to a too early conclusion years ago, I haven't posted his final screenies because of certain tragic events in my family, when I didn't feel like gaming or visiting forums at all.

Convinced that they can do it, Boone & Webb decided to attack the Fort and assassinate Caesar. They agreed that they'll both fight until the death in case they'll get overpowered.

Their action began in Cottonwood Cove...

...where they killed Legion's high-ranking commander Aurelius of Phoenix.

Under shadows of the night they took a barge to the Fort...

...and surprised legionnaires at early morning hours.

Making way through the Fort wasn't particularly difficult, they defeated most legionnaires fairly easily...

...perhaps it was because of their success that they began to feel over confident.

Once they got rid of every legionnaire outside...

...they attacked a power station, and that's where legionnaires surprised them. Webb fell first...

...and Boone immediately after.

Although they didn't accomplish their goal, Boone & Webb became known as heroes of the Mojave and when a few months later the Legion was defeated thanks to Mit Tsubishi, the NCR built a statue commemorating this pair of selfless heroes.
SubRosa
Alan Webb always makes me think of Alan Wake.

Webb and Boone go down with the sound of Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries playing in my head.

Winter Wolf
Ahh, Alan Webb! The old gun for hire that disguises himself as Colin Moriarty. laugh.gif

Awesome to see his Butch and Sundance moment- taking on those pesky Bolivians...ahh, Legionnaires. biggrin.gif

That first pic is very interesting. Where was it taken? What was Cho aiming at?

More pics! More pics! Find those pics!

It's good to be back, fellow Falloutinators.

That shot was taken just north of the Citadel, near where that bridge across the river is.

My original keyboard (which came with my gaming computer) stopped working a couple months ago. It was late and I was already zoned into gaming. Even though I use controllers on PC, I still use mouse & keys for certain functions. So I had to get a new keyboard. Best Buy and Office Depot are too far away, so this left Walmart. And all Walmart had was some cheapie no-name keyboard for 20 bucks.

Long story longer: I think sometimes when I hit PrintScreen it feels like it registers, but dues not. mad.gif Hence those lost pics never got taken in the first place. I need to get to Best Buy eventually. Or Office Depot. smile.gif

I love my Logitech K120 Keyboard. It is probably the cheapest keyboard I have ever bought, and the best as well. I vastly prefer it over any of those fancy gaming keyboards.
Renee
I usually get Logitech too! For my auxiliary computer, that is. I usually have to buy either a keyboard or a mouse (so might as well get both) once every year and a half or so. The keyboard that came with my gaming computer was a cheapie Hewlett-Packard, but hey, it lasted 5 years, so that counts for something.

Acadian
By Dibella's silky britches! I just looked and I have the same keyboard - Logitch K120. I've had two or three of them and the only real reason I've ever replaced them is from wearing the white paint off some of the keys sometimes. Perfectly happy with them - especially for the price.

That is my problem too, I have used it to much the paint is wearing off some of the letters!
Renee
I wish I could get mouse & keys to last that long, to the point paint is wearing off. Last time (last fall) it was my mouse wheel which stopped working. For awhile I thought I could compensate (do I really NEED the mouse wheel?) by using arrows and Page Up Page Down buttons, but ... you really cannot live without the mouse wheel. laugh.gif You just cannot.

Lopov
I had the same keyboard as well. I could bear with paint wearing off but when buttons started to fall out, it was time to change it for the current one - Logitech K520, which as I just noticed, doesn't have the letter A visible anymore. laugh.gif

LOL "microwave emitter" rollinglaugh.gif

Nice. Look at those green dreads wub.gif

Yes I can see Ally wielding plenty of knives. Seems like knives would be even more useful in swamp areas.

Where is Nadine?

SubRosa
Welcome back Officer Gator!

Looks like she is rolling on the river

That microwave will thraw them out.

Green haired sniper!

Ally is a bombshell, and so is her armor... laugh.gif

I thought the Tiger Sumatran would be a giant tiger companion.

Lopov
@Renee - the Microwave Emmiter is one of the powerful weapons which you get at the end of completing the MQ of PL. At least I think that's where you get it, it's been a long time since Ally b34t the quest.

Knives actually aren't so useful in swamps of Point Lookout. Most Swampfolks are armed with long-range lever rifles or shotguns (like Ally), and they usually come in groups of 2 or 3. The same goes for smugglers and ghouls. So knives would be useful only to some extent.

Nadine is on the steamboat, never leaving it. wink.gif

@SubRosa - Ally rolled back to do some more explorin' and huntin'.

Her armor is her signature, now she's too attached to it to ever change it. I notice with quite some of my characters to stick to the same armor almost all the time, not just Ally but also the Hobo, Rattler, Blondie (not exactly the same but similar black variants)...this is definitely from growing up with comic books, where heroes (and antiheroes) almost always wear same outfits.

I took a bad shot of Tiger, the gun isn't visible at all, I'll re-do it in the future. It's a cool gun and there's actually TIGER written on it.

---

Ally's new companion - Sergeant RL-3, the loyal servant of the US Army

"It's difficult to follow you, sir."

"Sir, I'm not meant to be jumped on."

"Let me handle this pest, sir. No need to waste your bullets. DIE IN THE NAME OF THE GOD AND THE US AND A!"

At least he died empty

Teamwork

The crew - it's kinda hard to get all members of Duchess Gambit in one screenie without console commands, from left to right there are: Catherine, Nadine's mom, Ally, Barney the protectron guardian of the steamboat, RL-3 and Nadine. In the back there's Jimmy Morgan, the merchant, who isn't a member of the crew, because he never sails to Point Lookout, instead he runs his shop at the pier, where Ally and Nadine can sell him goodies from the swamps

Six days later the crew is back in Point Lookout
SubRosa
I want to use the microwave emitter to cook popcorn...

Ally is surfing on Sarge!

Protectron went out the same way as Elvis.

At first I did not even see Ally in the teamwork pic.

That's a big collection of the crew.

Time to go play in the swamps. Watch out for the gators!

Khajiit loves what you’ve done with the Duchess Gambit! Her crew is really cool! Khajiit is working periodically on a Fallout fanfic set in what’s left of New Orleans. One of the main characters is a privateer/raider pirate hunter who cruises the river in her very own sternwheel paddleship!
Lopov
@SubRosa - I had to use a mod to recruit RL-3. According to the wiki, he should be recruited if one has neutral karma, which Ally has. But Tinker Joe wouldn't allow her to hire him. I don't know, maybe some other karma mod I'm using, messed the dialogue options up, but I found a fix on the Nexus which allowed Ally to recruit him regardless of karma.

I had to decide who to make more visible in the teamwork pic. If taken from another angle, RL-3 was barely visible. Then again, not being able to see Ally immediately, shows that she can blend easily with surroundings thanks to her dark skin, armor and hair.

@TheCheshireKhajiit - thanks! First it was just Ally and Nadine and they would sail back and forth to Point Lookout alone. With time, they didn't want to leave Catherine alone in the C.W. so they took her along. Then came an idea for a guardian that would watch over them 24/7, so they could rest at peace, and so Barney was recruited. RL-3 is the latest addition but he isn't always on the steamboat, he travels with Ally. Maybe with time Jimmy Morgan, the merchant, will sail to Point Lookout as well. Now only some pet is missing, maybe a mole rat or a dog. Maybe someone else will join too, because Ally will soon need to spend some time away from the steamboat, she has a mission to do in the C.W.

I would love to be undercover with Ally.

Man, Lopov, your pics remind Khajiit why he loves Point Lookout so much. You could cut that atmosphere with a knife.
