"My TV quit working while I was watching it. The green power light is on and I still have sound but the picture is gone."
"Okay did you check if it is plugged in?"
*Facepalm activated*
"Could I please speak to someone who understands that if the power is on and there is sound that it is plugged in?"
There is usually a reason that they put dumb labels on things or ask stupid questions. Unfortunately if you see a bottle of bathroom cleaning chemicals with a warning label saying "do not drink" then that is a good indicator that some idiot has drank it before. What this particular scenario means is that so many people call tech support with unplugged tv sets that it is the first question they ask people when they call about a tv with no power.
