Well I figured I would knock up a thread, as you do, for some piccies of our version of Cyrodiil and also because any gratuitous opp. to post up a shot of Niamh cannot be let go...
So here we are:

Roses
Ayleid Ruins
Niamh the Archer
View Out
The Look
Bruma Cathedral
Bruma and The Imperial City
In the Flowers
Cave Door
More Ruins
Fort Linchal
Glance
Valley View Camp
The Lake
Approaching the Gate - she never went in, it's not her problem...
--
Finally here, a couple from Niamh as she was in Skyrim - (VERY early shots, you can tell because she's still got something on - (seriously), and IRL, your humble narrator had not figured out the graphics settings yet), just for reference...

Leave Me Alone

Skyrim-wise there are also these two:

And this one, which is almost as close as I can get without getting banned. Skyrim Niamh was not big on clothing, you see...
Shock and Awe

A lot of the images from Skyrim, certainly the latter ones, had from necessity to combine elements of light and shade and camera angles, at least for forum posts; personally I think the result was rather good, in many cases...

You use a lot of effects for your Oblivion game. That isn't any post processing (photoshop) is it?

I think if that was my game, the dark borders around the screen would bug me.

None of the Oblivion shots are post-processed, that's exactly as in game. Part of my "vision" as it were is of looking through a portal into Cyrodiil. The vignette allows for that visualisation.
I used a lot of filmstrip in the Skyrim effects along with grain. Only a couple of the Skyrim ones are enhanced, I have never really found it necessary to enhance my Oblivion shots after the event, as what's available ingame is more than good enough.

But yes there are many many graphical bits and pieces going on in it!
King Coin
I've only enhanced a few of my shots and that was just when they were too dark to see easily.

I like taking 'creative' screen shots with lighting and angles too. wink.gif

Niamh is REALLY not a fan of clothing, is she? XD

They certainly don't feature as one of the higher priorities in her life, no!

This one's nice, is there something going on between them?

I like her Skyrim's shots as well, especially the one at the counter where she's wearing a hood - makes her look secretive and dangerous. And Shock and Awe is great as well.

Keep 'em coming!

BTW, is Niamh in Morrowind too?

Thank you Lopov.
There might well be yes at least as far as I can tell, although given the propensity that both of them have for violence I would imagine they take things fairly gently...!

Yes shock and awe is a favourite of mine as well.

She has been in Morrowind but sadly there are no existing shots of her from there...

I like how that one with Cutter is framed. Are you using the Epic Elves mod?

And here we are in Skyrim, it's a long story, and it's as confusing for Niamh trust me on that. You can read all about it in the stories, but as a teaser...
QUOTE

She was awakened by a strange sensation, akin to being pushed into the floor by a strong hand.
Feeling her breath forced from her lungs she grunted in her throat and tried desperately to fight against... it.
Lights danced in front of her eyes and there was a sudden, sharp pain...
...nothing...
...and then...
The air was cold on her bare skin, the wind whistled around her. Slowly her senses returned.
In the distance a wolf howled and there was the bark of a Horker from somewhere off to her left. The tang of the sea was strong in her nostrils and she could hear it lapping against a rocky shore.
Nauseous, she gingerly sat up and looked around her, then down at herself, through one eye.

"Oh Gods." She said quietly. "Not again."

Around her Skyrim slowly awoke, in the cold, hard light of a new morning...

Pix:
Not again...

Niamh in Skyrim looks more terryfing, she looks more mature, at least in my opinion. Great shots, especially the first one, I really like her 'blind' eye and a war-paint! I imagined waking up in the middle of a night and that face staring at me... ohmy.gif
BTW does she wear clothes when entering cities?

Heh, yeah I get what you mean completely. She's kind of Mr Hyde to Oblivion Niamh's Dr Jekyll, if that makes sense, although the distinction is perhaps more blurred in some ways.
She is certainly a much more random and unpredictable proposition, and her looks betray that for sure. You would definitely want to handle with extreme caution, if at all.
She is fundamentally the same age but her life and lifestyle are far more harsh and additionally the body she is in is an outward sign of her much more fey inner nature, this I think makes her look more worn and beaten about.
That and the fact she's got even less interest in personal hygiene than her Oblivion incarnation.
Though they are the same person, they represent different aspects, this Niamh is basically all the really nasty bits, but in Cyrodiil those are balanced by a more reasonable, if troubled and rather depressive, outlook. There is a kind of feedback loop between the two aspects however which means that some of one incarnation leaks into the other, tempering it to a greater or lesser degree; sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse... It's more marked with each visit, though not necessarily in a positive sense.

She actually doesn't go into settlements that much and tends to slip into them at night, and leave in the early morning. The shots of her in solitude were rare ones. This time round she is even more feral than before and it's more than likely that the Solitude trip was her last into a large settlement pretty much ever.
She does not wear clothes. Ever.
And she doesn't care either. Comments and abuse are, or were, certainly in abundance but for some reason she pretty much gets left alone, even by the guards, who are by and large just glad to see the back of her - (and indeed the front, although not one of them would ever say that to her face, lol).
She tends to get served because either the shopkeeper is to taken aback to react, or is to busy ogling to be bothered.
Not that that will be an issue any more...
Lopov
That was good read, thanks for some explanations.

Thank you,
It's actually one of Stakkado's cinematic ones using a fairly lightweight implementation. Performance isn't too bad - but I wouldn't want to push it, if you get my drift!!

Heh, it is indeed.
But actually "that" Niamh is still there, "this" Niamh is slightly different. Now I know how that sounds but all of them actually form part of a coherent and internally consistent narrative arc another piece of which - (concerning this Niamh) - I wrote today at work lol, and will soon appear in Niamh's fanfic thread...

But yes, expect this Niamh's screenies to be rather more open! biggrin.gif

The conversation - (of which you have only been told a little) - bit Luciana and herself left Niamh in a reflective mood. So it was she made the decision to finally re-enter Red Rose Manor, somewhere she had not been for a very long time, not since before Vilja's untimely demise.
It looked much the same, although dustier and somehow quiet and a little sad, there was a weight of memory upon that pressed down upon her.
She spent some time, rummaging through the drawers and cupboards, sleeping in the beds, just wandering from room to room.

Eventually she found in drawer, the outfit that Vilja had bought her long ago it seemed, she herself had never really worn it at the time, so Vilja had, every now and then.
On a whim, she put it on, and made a decision.
It was on to the Imperial City, up to the gate, past the statues, and on through the streets, she had some business that needed attending to, was long overdue in fact, but still, she needed a little time to think on it a bit.
(Doesn't mean a girl can't enjoy the scenery a little though).

They all have such a dream-like quality to them. I personally couldn't play like that, but they make for some neat screens.
