Ok...

Do people want to do the "read in a rush" contest that the Colonel suggested next, or have another contest similar to what we just had?

The read in a rush idea was this:

QUOTE(Colonel Mustard @ Mar 21 2013, 12:27 PM) *

an idea has occurred to me for a more regular contest after this; Read in a Rush.

The premise is simple; a monthly contest to write stories of a length between 850 and 1150 words, based on a new theme each month. The actual contest window is open for the first three weeks or so of the month, with people posting up their stories on a contest thread and providing feedback and comments on other people's stories at the same time along with their stories.

In the last week, the contest window closes, and a voting thread is opened; people vote for which story they think should win that month's Read in a Rush contest, a new theme is decided upon (there could well be a running thread for theme suggestions) and the same thing is done the next month with the new theme.

If it's a longer contest people would prefer, I've asked the Colonel if he would mind me running that, to which he very graciously agreed, as I had a few ideas of changing the format slightly.

Which would people prefer to do next?

Of its a longer contest, I might not be able to participate, andI want to.
Colonel Mustard
A Read in a Rush contest would be better as a regular thing; I envisioned the one we just had being a sort of once/twice a year affair.
Grits
I think we could keep the Read in a Rush ongoing and then have occasional longer contests. I’m not ready for a long one right now, but we could get one planned or I could just sit this one out.

I agree with grits and mustard. The read and rush could possibly be a weekly or monthly activity, while the longer short fanfic contests could be held once every year.

Anyone else agree?

NOT weekly. Very few of us have the free time for a weekly contest.

Then monthly. I think that would be nice
Colonel Mustard
Read in a Rush would be a monthly thing, not a weekly thing. I doubt anyone would have time for a weekly contest.

I can do something short. Maybe.
