Cool! You got to play coop Skyrim with Lopov and maybe his character Luke Skyrimwalker.
Lena Wolf
I too had a game-inspired dream last night. I was in the Nebula Isles, stuck in the ash caves, surrounded by ash monsters and that whole Sixth House paraphernalia... Had to eat corpsus meat to survive... That didn't come without consequences. tongue.gif Was looking for a way out... And you'd think I should know where to go since I built those caves! But actually when I was playing last night, I got lost time and time again. Seems I did a good job with that mod. tongue.gif

Then in the early hours of the morning - after I woke up a few times in cold sweat - a solution presented itself. It will be the next episode in Lena's story (which is Hauk's story at this point, really).
mirocu
Not game related dreams but dreams nonetheless so I'll just mentin it.

I've been having dreams where I find myself escaping, one time from prison and twice from what I would describe as a cult house. Like, a place you've volunteered to enter/join but now want out but that's not allowed. It's still possible to escape as you're not locked up but if you make it apparent you'll be stopped so you have to be careful which is difficult. Had one of those dreams just this night.

Sorry for slightly breaking the topic of this thread. Won't happen again.
Lena Wolf
Sounds very much like something that could have happened in a video game. Are they based on real life or is real life just a game? wacko.gif
mirocu
From what I can gather they're not based upon any game I've played. Perhaps games I've watched LPs of but that's a stretch I think. Then again it is a plot as good as any to have in a game I suppose. You play an undercover agent who infiltrate a cult and then you have to leave without stirring up suspicions. So maybe those dreams are more based upon games than I realize. Just not any game I've played.

Thanks for making me think about it more in depth smile.gif
Renee
mirocu you know I don't mind much if ppl go off-topic.

This sounds really sort of frightening actually. That actually is true about a lot of cults, too. A lot of them, it sounds as though whoever was brainwashed by the cult could've escaped easily (Jim Jones, before he moved them all down to the jungle, had his headquarters in San Francisco for many years, is an example).

Hope you're okay, Crow.

I am, no worries smile.gif

Guys! I've actually had a game dream not inspired by a Doom game! ohmy.gif ohmy.gif

It's actually from Fallout 3, specifically from when you blow up Megaton from Tenpenny Tower. I pressed the button, there was a big bang, and Tenpenny mumbled something about me getting the apartment. Then right after I started sniping people (not zombies as it turned out) from my vantage point with the Fallout 3 style hunting rifle. I was a bit miffed not having a scope but I could manage.

Then the dream morphed into some generic post-apocalyptic mess with monsters on the good side etc.

But yeah! A game dream not about Doom; fancy that! smile.gif
Renee
Awesome, really happy to hear this, mirocu. cake.gif Sounds like you enjoyed the experience, too. Like, you weren't scared or surprised like you would be in a DOOM dream. sleep.gif

I haven't had any gaming dreams (nor anything super-interesting) in a while. Mostly dreams about work situations. rolleyes.gif

I had a rare fantasy-game related dream about a week ago. Much of it was quickly forgotten. More has been forgotten since. This is what I know. Or think I know.

An update to the Everquest franchise was about to launch. (I abandoned Everquest, and all MMO's, soon after buying TES:Oblivion during 2009). This edition was to be some sort of first-person real-life experience, where players themselves physically participated rather than have in-game avatars. It wasn't a mind-implanted world, but rather a physical location we had to be at to participate. A theme-park on steroids, I suppose. The gaming-focused dream-portion began with me on a bus full of eager participants. All were dressed in RPG gear. I held an obviously cheap, plastic, small war-hammer.

Once at the site, we entered a building containing the game world. It was a monumental disappointment. The "ground" was nothing more than smooth floor, with dirt, grass, etc. painted on its surface. Clouds were painted on obvious ceilings. There were walls separating different sections of "map", with openings allowing us to move between sections. I recall exploring this environment for some minutes, wishing I was elsewhere and had not invested in the "update". The dream then either morphed into something else or ended.
Renee
Mm mm, me too. I was into Everquest (along with a whole slew of RPGs, mostly JRPGs) but Oblivion "ruined" me for all of those. laugh.gif

That excursion with all the other nerds sounds fun! Sadly, it sounds like your dream-machine didn't set up the final destination very well. If I can play couch-shrink for a moment, it sounds as though you were promised something which did not deliver.

Yeah, it was quite refreshing to finally have a dream about a game I still play biggrin.gif

@Decrepit - Sounds like that update wasn't worth it. Can you get a refund for your dream money? laugh.gif
mirocu
Another game dream and it's actually an Oblivion one! First one evah!! ohmy.gif ohmy.gif panic.gif

Er, but not a dream where I play the game or live in Cyrodiil or anything. I simply dreamt I was watching this video on youtube rollinglaugh.gif
Renee
Hey, that's at least some progress, mirocu. smile.gif Now, let's watch this video.

Oh okay, so is that armored character about to go to Shievering Isles. None of mine have been there yet, can you believe it---- WHOA NO!!!! NOOOO!!!!!!!! MAKE IT STOP1!!!!!!

I can tell you think it was awesome biggrin.gif

Also; you haven't seen that one before?

Gotta start somewhere. Seriously, as much time as you spend with Lothran, I'm surprised you've never "met" or seen him during REM sleep.

I haven't seen it before, but then again, I avoid videos in general. With a good reason, as it turns out! The music and the sequence got stuck in my head and invaded every dream last night! mad.gif

Although I must admit, that video was awesome. biggrin.gif

I was in a Falkreath-looking area, no idea why I was there, or what I was doing. But I was standing in a yard next to a large house. Not Lakeview Manor, but it had the same look. There were lots of gigantic trees, and the sky was getting dark.

At some point I had to hide, because a giant walked right beside the house! It towered over me, and I moved to the side of the house so it couldn't see me. Then I got busy doing something else. Don't remember what.

Later on I noticed a HUGE tree, lying on its side but moving slowly sideways. This is one of those Douglas fir-looking trees which populate Skyrim. I could see the top half of the tree, and like I said it was moving. I peeked around the house's corner, only to see the same giant, DRAGGING the entire 70 foot+ tree, probably taking it back to its camp.

Guess that giant was trying to celebrate his own holidays! santa.gif
mirocu
But of course! He needed a Christmas tree! biggrin.gif

I had a January dream two nights ago. I was January, and I was flying through a factory. Then I came the other end of it, and flew up around a tall smokestack. There was a space ship flying through the sky above, leaving a trail of smoke and sparks behind it. So clearly it was in distress. A giant purple man came out of it. Then it picked up speed, and went up higher into the sky and disappeared.

I remember holding the giant purple guy, who only had vague features. He was sort of a big, squishy Pilsbury Doughboy, but purple. I told him that everything was going to be ok, because I was going to help him get back home.

And that was it. I woke up.
Renee
Nice! Funny thing is I was thinking I should ask if you ever have any dreams inspired by your story. sleep.gif Especially with all the flying.
macole
There have been times I guess you could say, I've had dreams inspired by my story where the Ladies’ personalities come alive. But, more often than not it is the other way around wheree a dream will influenced or should I say, fill in the gaps of the narrative so that it becomes more than just a 'went here did that' journal.
Renee
Seems every time I'm starting a new game or about to start one, I have a dream related to that game. sleep.gif

I was in an ultra-modern building which looked like a cross between the CSI: Miami workspace and a State of the Art hospital. Everything ultra-clean and modern. Computer monitors, stainless steel tables, stark lighting, and so on.

My red-haired, real-life housemate Karen gave me something and said she had also played Mass Effect. She said something like "You can do anything. You can fight, you can tear apart some grids, whatever. Or, if you just want to find a place to run and hide you can do that too."

That final suggestion, that's me! laugh.gif In games I can roll with brazen assassins, pretentious heroes, and everything in-between, but in real-life I'm a wimp.

Karen disappeared, and now I was playing the game, except of course, I was actually IN THE GAME. blink.gif

panic.gif <--- so that's what I immediately been doing, getting the hell out of the room we started in. All the sudden there was commotion everywhere. People rushing by, loud sounds in other sections of the building, and so on. I didn't want to know any of that. All I wanted to do was get the hell out, if I could.

I kept moving through corridors and room after room. Turns out, the place I was in was really big. It wasn't science-fiction at all, though. I haven't played Mass Effect at all, nor seen much gameplay, but the place was more "ultra-modern Earth" than SciFi. 🔫

As I zoomed through the building, eventually there were less and less people. I finally found a room which seemed pretty quiet, so I went in there, and closed the door. The room was dominated by a large white bed, fully made up.

To the far side of the door was a huge glass door which looked outward to a beachfront. 🌴 There were palm trees and sand. Whatever was happening in the rest of the building, wasn't going on here. I figured I could stay right where I was!

Funny thing is at the end of the dream I realized there was a laptop in the room, and so I started trying to see if I could play Mass Effect on the laptop.

SubRosa
That would have been some inception levels of inception if you could have played the game in a dream you having about playing the game.

I know this is from a year and a half ago but eating corpsus meat to survive... blink.gif

Had a couple wild dreams last night. One of them is game-related, so I'll post that one. sleep.gif Let me just preface this dream by saying it was in a version of my real-life neighborhood.

Was walking down a hill, and it was night. Not winter, but also not summer. There weren't leaves on the trees or thick foliage yet, so it must've been either late fall or early spring.

Walked down the hill, and crossed a street. Across the street is a path. And down the path was a person. All of this was completely dark, okay? There were street lamps behind me now, but they did not illuminate the path. It was night. emot-ninja1.gif I was not 'in a videogame' or playing a game per se, but I acted as though I was. Which is to say, I threw (a spell?) or did something which caused the person to begin chasing after me.

So, turned around, ran across the street and up the hill. The person (in my mind) was now revealing itself to be a Golden Saint, a Daedra. devilsmile.gif But it wasn't golden, it was dark. Anyway, the thing is chasing after me, but that was okay. I was in a version of the neighborhood in which I grew up. Houses were different but the layout was exactly the same. Which means I knew where I could go to hide.

As I'm running I make a right and then run down another street. But there's a problem. Dremora Chulrs are on this street! And there are dozens of them! I figure this is "game over". But oddly, the churls leave me alone. None of them bother me. Maybe it's because I didn't bother them, right?

The Saint is still chasing though. I didn't turn to look, but I could sense it was still behind me! panic.gif

So I ran down the street, and since this the neighborhood I grew up in, I knew another footpath was just ahead. So I made a sharp right down the footpath, telling myself I'd run all the way to Lia's house (friend from grade school). Here on the path it was completely dark. Plenty of trees. But I knew where I was. Down the path was what looked to be an outdoor merchant area, with open counters & stalls & such. Perhaps during the day time merchants try to ply their wares in what normally is nothing but woods. Because, normally there's nothing here but trees. But I was able to run behind one of the counters, ducked into a nook and waited.

The Golden Saint soon came stepping down the path but did not see me! Yikes.

Had a dream this morning in which I was in my character's shoes once again. sleep.gif Vicious, this time. Pretty sure it was sunny.

Was in an area which looked like metropolitan D.C., like downtown. But not any of the touristy parts. This was an area near a Metro station, where lots of people are going somewhere. As I walked around, my cell phone went *ping*! and I got a message.

Which language would you like to choose? or something like that. ENGLISH.
Which country are you from? or something like that. Wow, really? UNITED STATES.

I guess the second question segued off the first one, but I rolled my eyes at the time. It's just that I was IN the U.S. when whatever nearby computer triggered my phone. Just seemed kind of redundant. The idea, though, is when foreigners come through the tunnels that their phone is going to help them navigate where they're going, in their very own language. In a way, that part of the dream is going to help me write next week's episode.

Later on I was still in the same area, but with a group of seven other people, and we were standing on either side of a net. Four players on each side, and we're about to play volleyball, right in downtown D.C.! So, instead of playing on some grass or sand, we're going to play on concrete.

The ball came to me and I totally flubbed it. It bounced right by, rolled onto the plaza, where a bunch of people were walking by. Next, it was my turn to 'start' (whatever the term is when somebody uses the underside of their fist to 'punt' the ball over the net). And again, I suck. The ball didn't even make over the net (or into it) it rolled under the net. Other players on the other side had to go running off before the ball went rolling into the street!

By this point, everyone was mad at me! I am laughing at it now; all these people were strangers. But in the dream there was this dire seriousness, of course. mad.gif

Both teams took a break, and I asked a player on my side, a sporty-looking woman who looked as though she played sports every day, "is it okay for me to kick the ball? Do we always have to use our hands?" And of course, she literally blew her stack! On some level, I know we're not supposed to use our feet at all for gameplay, and so I think I was trying to communicate "hey, I SUCK at this game. Do you really want me on your team?" kvleft.gif
Acadian
What a fascinating place inside your sleeping head is. laugh.gif
Renee
Got one! sleep.gif

Was in some town which reminds me now of somewhere in Florida. Like, one of the towns near Miami or Tallahassee we've never heard of unless we actually live in Florida, perhaps. The place had sort of a Vice City feel to it, but was run down, and not one of the main cities. Just that alone separates this dream from hundreds of others I've had. I usually have dreams in my hometown, or Baltimore, or one of the cities I lived out west. Or even a fictional setting such as the Capital Wasteland.

In the dream was a Laprima-like woman. Not my character herself, but somebody inspired by LPD. I pictured her with black hair, for instance. I never actually saw or spoke to this woman, but in the dream's backstory, we were new friends. We'd hung out maybe 6 times.

But due to some drama, this woman was mad at me. She was mad, and hanging out with some other new friend, not me. Which was pretty distressing.

I was running around in some shopping mall. Went up to its top floor for some reason, into a pleasant cafe, with a bunch of patrons sitting down, having lunch. Not sure why my dream self went in there, but I was freaking out, like 'how can this relationship be salvaged?' -- My mind was focused on this new person in my life, and what went wrong?

A few seconds later I left the cafe. The dream morphed, so that it shifted to the outside world, and I was now commanding a game character. I became the omnipresent being who can't be seen in the game, you know? My character was some faceless female (I never saw her face) who was running in the middle of the street. Buildings, sidewalks, but my character was running in the street, not a sidewalk. Running, because she was being followed by this HUGE mass of enemies. Goblins, ogres, zombies, ghouls, etc! panic.gif

I would run my character one way, the entire mob followed. They were impossible to evade if running straight, so I did an about-face and ran through the mob. When the mob turned, did another 180, and ran through them again. Eventually my person escaped! Phew.

I don't remember the rest. Phew though, just a dream.

I had a strange dream last night, a bit of a nightmare.

It started as a flashback of something that happened about 20 years ago, the house I was living in - that was once again my home in the dream, and I was 20 years younger... hmm...

So here I am, standing in the sitting room, looking out the window. It's a sunny day in early March, the trees are still bare, it's chilly but nice... And suddenly something covers the sun, but I'd seen no clouds. I look up - a giant Dwemer Airship is blocking the sun... ohmy.gif

IPB Image

Someone jumps off it... The airship rises a bit, still blocking the sun... that someone goes straight into my house... ohmy.gif ohmy.gif

"Well, what are you waiting for??? Shoot that thing down!!"

Obviously, I've got a nice Elven bow and arrows on my back... Hmm... Alright then! I start loosing arrows... err... through the window... I think... or did my house have a sliding roof? Not my real house, it didn't, but the one in the dream may be did...

"You can't shoot down an airship with arrows, don't be silly!"

Who said that? Oh, yes, it's that person that jumped off the ship. She is standing right behind me, but not attacking. She is a daedra. A Golden Saint, I think - that same arrogance.

IPB Image

"So, what do you propose?" I ask her.

"Nothing, of course," she smirks. "Surrender. Resistance is futile. Your race and your culture will be assimilated into ours."

"Umm... No?"

"And what are you gonna do?" She laughes at me. That's the nightmarish bit. It was not funny at all.

"You will do no such thing." Someone is standing between me and the daedra. Scorpio - my companion from Dragon's Dogma.

IPB Image

"Who's this?" She glares at him. "Is he a daedra? He looks male! Is he at least genderless?"

"What..? What's that got to do with anything..?" I am perplexed because Scorpio is not genderless, he's a man.

"Males are leagues below females in everything, ten points off each attribute," the Saint tells us with disgust. "If he's male, he's inferior. Ha!"

Hmm... I don't rightly remember what happened next... but he showed her who's inferior... and then I woke up. smile.gif
Acadian
Wow, attacked by a Dwemer airship full of women daedra-borg!

You know you've been playing too many games when. . . . biggrin.gif

Oh heck yeah. Shooting down Dwemer airships, getting visited by superior races and telling them off... and my favorite, being young again. wub.gif

Yes. These moments are so scary at the time. We wake up, and phew...

Edit: It finally happened!! I had a Fallout 3/New Vegas dream!! ohmy.gif ohmy.gif panic.gif

I was in a small settlement, killing some enemies and just walking around. At one point I killed a Raider and picked up her gun, a special submachine pistol named Time to Die, B*tch which I thought was pretty funny laugh.gif

Not much more happened, I kept walking around just exploring. But I had a Fallout dream!! smile.gif
