“Well. If we aren’t two very well-paid mercenaries!” Rayne exclaimed; running her fingers through the coins in the chest.
I stood in a corner, leaning against the wall, arms crossed. “Keep the gold, Rayne.”
She looked over with a perplexed look. “Don’t make offers that I’m not stupid enough to turn down. Fifty-fifty, come on. We’re partners!”
I shook my head. “It’s yours. I don’t need it, and you deserve no less for your assistance down there.”
She walked over slowly. “If that’s your way of saying thanks, let me say my thanks too.” Her walk towards me ending in an embrace and attempted kiss.
“What’s wrong?” she asked, pulling back as I moved my face to the side.
I faked a smile. “Nothing. Just a lot on my mind. You understand.”
“I do. I have 15,000 things on my mind!” she quipped.
“Then you go, and buy something nice for the place, for yourself, whatever, and I’ll use that time to clear my head.”
“Deal.” She said with a quick peck on the lips.
The pattern of being used was repeating itself. I did not take being used lightly, but I had seen with my own eyes was Helseth was willing to do, how far he was willing to go. The temple needed me, if at the very least my legend. The great Nerevarine who cast down Dagoth Ur with a terrible gaze, and an awesome cry. The great Nerevarine who could punch through Dwemer walls, and fell entire legions of Ash Ghouls with a stroke of his blade.
Both the Temple and the Monarchy wanted to exploit me. I wanted to be left alone. Perhaps such a thing was not possible, I was in to deep. Prophecy wove my path ahead of me, the aftermath of my choices were never far behind. If there was a light at the end of the tunnel, there would be bloodshed before I got to it.
The temple would keep me alive, so long as I proved useful. Helseth would seek to destroy me by any means. Of these options, I chose the one most beneficial to myself.
So within the passing of the moons, we were summoned to the Temple once more. This time, the Archcanon, Gavas Drin himself sought us out; as he had a matter that he felt we could assist with. That was getting a bit old.
I couldn't decide which lines to quote so I took it all! I really love this part, the conversation between them is so ....so gah, I can't find the proper words for it, but I have a feeling you sort of know what I mean. (You are a mind reader right?)

I end up leving for about four months in the very near future.
Oh, so there's no internet there, wherever you end up?
