Time for the next one, people. Have fun!

QUOTE(minque)
This is meant to be a place where you can talk about anything without having to stay on topic. Feel free to ask questions, to talk about the things in your life you like to share with your fellow-members. Or just step inside for a while, have a coffe and a good chat!
You may feel free to post whatever you like as long as it is within the rules of the forum.
But if the conversation degrades to spam, you will be treated as though you are spamming anywhere else on the forum. This is a thread where you can relax and talk about personal things, but it is not to be used as an excuse to make pointless posts.
Please help to keep this alive and well and a place where we can meet and share.
Enjoy your stay here!!!
QUOTE(Alexander)
We had intended the coffee shop to be a nice place where people could talk about their daily activities and such, kinda like the Lurkers Lair on the Official Forums.
It didn't quite turn out that way though, people have been taking advantage of their freedoms in here, there has been a lot of spamming and even some flaming. We will not tolerate that any longer.
So unfortunately we've had to decide to increase the rules for this thread. Of course the normal forum rules still apply, but we'll elaborate here.:
1. No spamming.
We consider double posting and posting posts with only a few words to be spam. If you do that your post will be deleter or moved, do it too often and you might receive a warning for it.
We also consider chit-chat spam. This forum has a special chat channel for chatting, you're welcome to go there, and chat with other members or with the staff as we're always there, doing it in here is not allowed.
The address to that chatroom is:
W4O chat
And for assistence to use a chat like this, I recommend looking over this thread:
http://forums.waiting4oblivion.com/viewtopic.php?t=248Or contacting one of the Administrators.
2. No discussion of accounts or warnings.
There shall be no more discussion about members, about accounts, about how many warnings you've gotten or anything like that.
3. No trolling.
No posting of random nonsense, no posting of irrelevant things, no posting the same thing over and over just to get it noticed, no swearing or flaming.
4. No religion or politics.
No discussion about religion or politics is to be had in these threads. If you want to discuss religion or politics, please do make another thread, or if another such thread already exists, please post in it.
If you have a question about the rules of the forums, feel free to ask it to either a Global Moderator or an Administrator.
If you're unsure if something is fit to post here, it might be. Again best to ask a Global Moderator or Administrator.
If you're wondering how we think a Lair or the Coffee Shop should look like, what we do allow, then I recommend taking a look at the Lurkers Lair at the Official Forums.
Edited to add rules ~ Wolfie

Our deal ole Coffee Shop has been turned into a Cafe!!! Class has been introduced into it! NOOOOOO!!!
Ohwell, I guess I'll just get used to all the fancy pastries and expensive sounding drinks.
Anywho. What does everyone think about the game of poker? Fun game, yes or no? I'm going to be playing some tonight. I haven't won a pot in awile, I'm due!

Cafe' originated as an Arabic word initially.. Prob spread because of the Moorish expansion into the Iberia.. But that is pure speculation of course.
I'm sorry though, I'm not a big fan of cafe's around here anyhow. They are a bastion of 21 century liberalism which I'm not a large fan of. Prefer 1940'ish liberalism actually.

Glorious day here in TN- temps in the low 70's (low 20's C for our European fans playing at home), low humidity. Did one small bit of yard work, then off to the bookstore, library, and park with Mrs. Treydog. Watched turtles basking in the sun and then came home to the dachshund. Soon enough, my Saturdays will be consumed by work... but today was just for us.

And for those of you that might have been wondering what happened to the Black Hand of Mephala, worry not. I will be pumping out some updates quite soon, and be a tad bit more active on the forums.
I am pleased to announce that I finally have a decent paying job, as a Shipping and Recieving clerk in an Aerospace manufacturing company, and no longer have to deal with the distasteful clientele of a sandwich company that shall go unnamed, but you have probably eaten there. Especially if you took the SUBWAY to eat there.
You're all good and decent folks, and I would be hard-pressed to find better fellow forumers anywhere.

Glad to hear that updates will be forthcoming again. I will surely read them like I always do.

Welcome back, Black Hand. Good luck on the new job. I for one know I could never work in the food industry. Food being consumed or stored whatever, makes me feel nauseous.

Eh, math I don't mind. It's physics that is the difficult one. Ohwell, I tried my best at that. Fortunately if I do have to take anymore physics, it'll be specific to the stuff I plan to do.

Managed to get through calculus on the third try- it truly helped that I actually gave a (insert appropriate word here) on that attempt. Does anyone here like RTS games? Because they just came out with Command and Conquer 3 for the Xbox 360 (don't know if that's exclusively or not). Great game, haven't played the others, but the gameplay is awesome.
CAC.com I think it's also for computer for those who don't have a 360. All of the briefings are done by real actors and not digital characters; and from the demo I know it's a great game already.

Priest of Sithis
May 22 2007, 03:58 AM
Age of the empires was good until the new one, I am also a fan of RTS
In fact, most of my video game collection that is mine 100% is RTS
Warcraft Series
Fallout
Starcraft
Diablo Series
Army Men RTS
Age of Empires series (excluding the newest one)
The Metal Mallet
May 22 2007, 04:39 AM
RTS were the first video games I loved. The first three games I owned for the first two Age of Empires and Starcraft. Fun stuff, though I hardly have time to play games anymore, which is regrettable.
I am very happy that Blizzard has finally announced that work on Starcraft 2 is well under way. I will own that game!

May 22 2007, 06:33 AM
Oh no, not the equations! I hate those. If X=Z times the square of Y, then Y =??. Bloody letters, with their infinite possibilities! I want numbers, concrete numbers clear as crystal!
And RTS, I haven't played them that much. There was Wargames, where I always played as Wopr. (Who cares about humanity, those tanks can spin their turret while driving but still can't fire. Besides, the invincible robot army is a lot cooler anyway. Death to all humans!)
Total Annihilation is nice as well. This is possibly the only RTS where my low skills actually work! (even if I have the center of the map a constant battlefield with more units flowing in each second, I'm winning. Don't forget to salvage the wrecks afterwards.)
No, I prefer Turn-based Strategies myself. There is X-Com, which really went downhill after the first installment. Terror from the Deep was simple money-leaching and essentially Ufo Defense with a graphical overhaul. The cityscape of Apocalypse was nice, but any excitement was completely lost when your troops turned into tanks and psionics was defeated by having enemies either be immune due to being too dumb or immune due to being too smart.
Then finally, there is Master of Orion. I have 1 and 2, and I hope to add 3 to the collection someday. 1 is simpler and nice, while 2 has a ton of extra features. Here I tend to be the pacifist with the ridiculous number of missile bases to protect my small empire. Till I build the incredible doomstar (Deathstar, only faster and meaner all around) with 200 rapid-firing phasors, that is. Then I go around the universe, blowing up planets left and right.

I've been having the worst nightmares ever recurring night after night. Every single night I dream there's an extensive warrant out for my arrest and the police have come close or succeeding in finding and arresting me.
I looked it up in my friends dream dictionary and it said these sorts of dreams are often dreamt by people who have gone through harsh regimes and compassion. I thought it was kind of interesting since I was living like a jew in Germany in 1940 when I was illegally staying in the dorms after my banishment. I still don't know how to get rid of them.

Starcraft is an excellent game (it's what got me into RTS) and CAC is a pioneer console RTS. The Protoss are uber (one of many inspiration sourses for the Naryyn). Blizzard was making a shooter game for Starcraft, Ghost.
But that was put on hiatis (sp.) and it may or may not get produced. *sigh*

Graduation was fun last night. Despite my initial determination not to drink, I ended up moderately drunk (after a mere 4 pints due to the fact that I've never drunk seriously before) when they eventually threw us out of the pub because it was closing time

Was a fun night though.

Your crazy doomed.. go home you hippie

.
The first C&C was my first computer game.. and then it was Age of Empires.. and then I really got into it with AoE2 (still play that game on LAN sometimes). After being awestruck for several years of AoE I could never really get into RTS's again so I played BF1942 religiously for several years and became (and still am) a 1LT in a BF2 gaming clan. Company of Heroes drew me back into the genre and by god is it wonderful.
I'm a big fan of the Europa Universalis and Civ series though too.

Well, I've been on a fishing trip with my dad. I'll be back at my trusty computer late Monday.
Thus far, though, Dad caught five fish, failed to reel in two. I brought in six decent sized fish, and failed on two.
Here's the kicker, I caught all my fish at a few minute intervals; arrived after Dad caught his first four.
So, I caught the largest, reeled in the fastest, and got the most.

We gave all our fish to this couple fishing on the same dock (I don't have a taste for fish).
When I get back, I'll resume working on my Fan-fiction (as Summer vacation has already begun for my school district).

Morning Star (January) The Ritual
Sun’s Dawn (February) The Lover
First Seed (March) The Lord
Rain’s Hand (April) The Mage
Second Seed (May) The Shadow
Mid Year (June) The Steed
Sun’s Height (July) The Apprentice
Last Seed (August) The Warrior
Hearthfire (September) The Lady
Frostfall (October) The Tower
Sun’s Dusk (November) The Atronach
Evening Star (December) The Thief

Impressive, but psionic power are the ultimate force of nature.
What good is fire when contained in a vacuum?
What it freezing ice when turned to vapor?
Or metal when it bends like rubber?
Flesh when it is carries away by the wind?
