The Metal Mallet
Flogir

Upon seeing Dalrus enter the room, Flogir was estatic. "Hooray! Now that everyone is here, we can get things started right?" he asked looking around. He then turned to the Countess. "So are we getting rewards or something? Because if so, I'd rather have some sort of artifact or special object rather than money. I've run into quite a decent amount of that recently."

Seeing the serious expression on the Countess though, he figured that that wasn't the reason for this meeting.

Countess Valga

"We're missing the bosmer, but you all can fill him in when he does arrive." she stated, obviously running out of patience.

"After seing you all work today, I've decided that I want you all to act as a scouting crew to report on some odd happenings around Cheydinhal."

"Before I go on, is there anyone who would like to leave? If so, do it now."

Rann

Rann looked around, hoping that Satyana would leave - he didn't want her getting into any danger, even though her healing abilities would be needed.

Jonathan Constantine

Jonathan fidgeted as if he would leave, after all, he was his own man, not some property of some high and mighty noble to do what she pleases with.

"Hey uh.. Your awesomeness.. is that right? Eh, whatever. I'm not going to lie to you, I was just passing through before this "attack" got me stuck here. It's not that I'm some grand crusader seeking to purge evil from the land, or.." He glanced over at Rann "..Some man in your service. I'm sure that however if some funds were.. ahem, allocated to us, hell me, we'd find this mission a bit more comforting."

He was going to get rich, or die trying, even if that was literal.

Flint Ironwood, where everyone else is.

Flint shook his head.
,,With all due respect, don't you think I'm too old for this? I don't like the sound of odd happenings. We could get killed or something." He complained. He then caught sight of Sathyana and Rann. He'd failed to protect their mother. The Breton shook his head once more.
,,Selie is going to kill me for this."

He took one step forward.
,,I'm in. As long as Brianna's children are involved, I'll look after them."

(I'm off to bed in a while. Feel free to control Flint during the conversation.)

Ian

Hearing the countess' question Ian replied. "I'm not backing out of this," Then he paused. "Even if I'm getting older, I'm still the same man who walked into these halls nineteen years ago." But Karn doesn't age as fast as me, so what will I do when I'm too old to fight him?

"Mr. Constantine, the reward should have been assumed. I don't think so highly of myself as to think that people will do things for the sole reason of pleasing me. We will discuss total payment when you return, but how does a down payment of two thousand gold each sound?"

"I appreciate everyone's cooperation in this, though some motives may be more honorable than others."

Jonathan Constantine

"Excuse me Countess, but the day you give up your throne because the de facto emperor tells you too is the day I work for free. Its business." He then stopped a moment to review her offer. Two thousand gold pieces was a pretty price, but if she were offering that much she obviously had quite a bit more held up.. somewhere.

"Here we go, I'll scratch the payment, but if you instate me into your service, and pay me a regular pay, I'll do this.. job.. for you."

"Simple enough, even if the motives not" Jonathan thought and smiled inward, "After all Countess, whats a little job security?"

"This employment offer is not permanent. I will not pay you regularly, and I will most certainly not make you a permanent hand. Take the current offer or leave it."

Jonathan Constantine[b]

"My, my Countess you dri--"

Come to me..

"--ve.. a hard.. bargain.. Erhm, fine.. Two thousand gold.. pieces is more then.. enough.." Jonathan was visibly shaken, his body cold and numb. He sat quiet for a moment trying to shake off.. "that voice.."

"Sure thing countess.. I'll go.." For some reason his decision felt right all of a sudden, as though he was being called..

Countess Valga

The countess looked at him quizzically, owndering what brought about the sudden change of heart, but she shrugged it off mentally and nodded.

"I'm glad you find the terms agreeable."

"Now on to business. There have been reports of goblins and other creatures congregating in the wilderness surrounding Cheydinhal. They are mainly reports of overy concerned citizens, but I think that there is more to them than superstition and paranoia, because not one scout that I have sent has returned. I assume that a group such as this will have no trouble in that area, correct? Anyway," she continued, not expecting an actual answer for her question, "I have a feeling that it is a rebellion against the Chancellor, and since he has trouble enough keeping this dying Empire together without an uprising, I want you all to find the leader of this group and bring him to me. Alive if possible, dead if necessary."

"M'lady, the mages guild has been working on this for a short amount of time, and we have one word, though we and know one knows what it means." she took a breath, for some reason the word scared her and it took energy to say 'Möldairê,' was the dying words of one of my friends, though I know not what it means." she said taking another breath. When the word was uttered the room seemed to feel darker, a candle went out.

OOC: The word's meaning is lost and only one account can be found in the elder library.
Dantrag
Countess Valga

Valga was silent for a moment. "Sounds ancient. Most likely has something to do with old magic. I would recommend that you go to the Imperial City then, and visit the Elder Library. It's the only place that could possibly contain such information."

He waved to one of her guards, and he returned with a piece of parchment, an ink vial, a quill, and her royal seal.

She hastily wrote a short message, folded it, and sealed it.

"Bring this to Chancellor Ocato, and search for the meaning of this word. He should allow you entrance to the library." she said, handing the document over to Dalrus.

"Thank you m'lady" she said curtsying and leaving after taking the seal and letter. Before she exited she smiled at Rann and scowled at Jonathan. She got on her horse and rode out of the city with lightning speed, something was going on and she though they should find out very soon.
Lord Revan

Ian

While Johnathan was more visible affectedm Ian felt the voice too and quickly glanced at Rahvin to see he'd felt it also.

Issac

Balamora was a grand town, and it should be. He thought, it is House Hlaalu capital after all. Issac took a deep breath and savored a moment of freedom. He didn't get much down time from Blades' affairs. His katana was shown proudly on his waist, and was both imposing and dangerous. I love swords, he thought. Fists are good, but a well-honed blade mades a nice 'swoosh' as it slices through the air.

Issac strode beside the river in the center of Balmora, and watched as a couple of slaughterfish fought over a piece of meat. Then out of nowhere a rolled-up piece of partchment appeared in the air above the river. On instinct alone Issac leapt, caught, and landed on the other side of the waterway. He quickly ran his hand over the note's contents.

Father wants me to meet him in the Imperial City? That's odd, but I might as well make use of this down time........ Then Issac grinned at himself, doesn't he know I like to smoke hackle-lo as much as he does?

And with the same fast travel technique that Ian had taught him, Issac teleported to the main palace of the Imperial City.....

Countess Valga

She didn't do much more than blink, and Dalrus was gone, apparently misunderstanding her.

"I want you all to catch up with her, but first you may take supplies from both the kitchens and the armory if needed. Rahvin will show you the way."

Rahvin

Rahvin motioned for the others to follow, and headed towards the armory.

"No. Was I supposed to?"

What he didn't know was he didn't feel anything because he had been practicing his mind shielding technique. He had no way of knowing if there were any telepathic messages being sent or not.

Lord Revan

Ian

Ian caught the last bit of Johnathan's question and decided to speak. "I did as well, I think it has something to do with our demons and that voice might be something calling out to people with powerful evils."

Rahvin

Rahvin finally led them to the armory, and spoke, interrupting the conversation on purpose - he didn't want to think about the feeling he had, much less talk about it.

"Here it is. Personally, I think all of this is total compassion, but you may find something useful." he announced.

There was mostly equipment used by guards, but there were a few other things as well, all scattered around on various tables, hanging on walls, or sitting on stands.

Florodine of Hlaalu
Dalrus, Near Chorrol

"Whoa there lass, where are you going in such a hurry" a guard on horse back came up to her. "I was sent on business from the court," she said angrily.

"Well miss, we're going to have to halt you for a moment, a bear was spotted on the road and we cannot allow you to head there" he said protectively.

"Very well, i will just wait until you say it is all clear, a bear will not stay there for too long" she said riding back into the city. She realized that she had left in such a haste that the rest of the group wasn't even on their way out yet. "Goodness they must think me a fool" she said to herself. "Though one of them is more fool than I'll ever be" she again said.
The Metal Mallet
Flogir

Flogir had kept quiet during the meeting, him sticking around was evidence enough that he wanted to be apart of this. The payment sounded nice on his ears.

When they arrived in the armoury, it struck him that all his equipment was back on his cart. "Rahvin, I don't need anything here. All my equipment is back on my cart though. Would it be all right if I just meet everyone at the gates?" he asked, anxious to get back to his cart.
Dantrag
Rahvin

Rahvin shrugged. "I don't care. Knock yourself out."

"Told you it was compassion." he commented when nobody grabbed anything. "On to the kitchens then."

There they found a bunch of packs filled with preserved food, ready to go.

"Grab a pack and go. Someone should probably carry one for Dalrus."
The Metal Mallet
Flogir

Flogir immediately followed Rahvin to the kitchens and picked up his pack. He quickly dismissed himself from the group and hurried to the Lokken Tavern.

Once he got there, he payed a stable boy a heafty sum of the gold he had to look after his cart, and likely his donkey, he had forgotten to ask how they were travelling and whether they were being provided with travel.

He grabbed his equipment he wanted. His Kvatch armor, and his broadsword, Iceshard. He also took the throwing darts Flint gave him, just in case. He changed into his chainmail armor, leaving off the platemail chest plate and boots, placing them in his pack.

He shouldered his pack and headed to the front gates, anxious to meet the others and start their mission.
Channler
Jonathan Constantine

Jonathan picked a pack, its fillings were meager, but well enough for their task. He was actually surprised at the lack of quality items in the armory. Being that he was lack of any real armor, that posed a small problem.

"Well.. I'm going to head out to one of the blacksmiths in town and pick something up.." He didn't wait for a response and left.

After scouring a few different shops, he found a nice large wooden buckler and decided it was well enough. Instead of returning to the castle go he went and met up with Flint.

"You ready for this?" Jonathan said before fastening his cloak cloak around his body, then strapping his buckler on his back and holstering his sword to his left side.
Lord Revan

Ian

Johnathan walked out muttering something about seeing a smith. Ian also didn't need anything of the Countess, and excused himself as well. Should I wear my robes or change into my armor? He asked himself. No, if I do need it then this mission is suicide if we can't make it to the Imperial City.

Dantrag
Rann

Everyone else left the kitchens, leaving he and Rahvin standing there.

"So I assume you know about your sister." his dad said.

"Why didn't you tell me?"

"I knew I wouldn't have time to explain this, so I wrote it down earlier today when the countess told me her plans." Rahvin answered, handing Rann a very wrinkled piece of parchment. "Now go before you ge left behind."

"You're not coming?"

Rahvin shook his head.

"Oh." Rann said. "Alright then. See you in a week or two." Then he grabbed his pack as well as Dalrus's since nobody else did, and started to leave.

"Wait." Rahvin said. "Take this too."

Rann took the object out of his hand and asked, "A glove?"

"It belonged to an old aquaintance. His name was Cerpin."

"Uh...okay." Rahvin said, stuffing the letter and the glove into his pocket before heading out the door.

He mounted his father's horse and headed towards the main gate.

"Who are we waiting for?" he asked.

Satyana and Flogir were already there. He assumed that Dalrus was a ways ahead already.

Flint Ironwood, preparing.

Flint nodded. ,,I'm as ready as I'll ever will be. I still don't like it though." He replied when Jonahtan walked up to him. The Breton didn't need to do a thing, he was already walking around as if there was a war going on. He summoned his Daedric bow and fired a single arrow at the row of practice dolls in the courtyard. The Daedric shaft shot cleanly through the first two and remained stuck in the third.
,,Hmm, a bit too low. I'm not going to hit the heart like this." He commented as he allowed his bow to vanish.

,,Come on. Let's head for the gate. The sooner we're done with this, the better."

The gate wasn't two far and they arrived soon enough to see that they were already expected.

Flogir, at the front gate

Flogir greeted the party members upon their arrival. When Rann arrived Flogir asked him a question.

"Should I go get my mule? Because I'm not sure how we're travelling to the Imperial City."

If I'm stuck walking or using that mule... it's going to be a long trip

He shouldered his pack once more into a more comfortable position, waiting for an answer.

"Sorry about that.." He patted Lila's neck, "Couldn't leave my girl."

Flogir

Flogir rushed back to the Lokken stables to retrieve his mule. Cursing under his breath for all ready expecting that answer and not acting on it till now.

"Well I'm ready, I figure we'll catch up to Dalrus quickly," he said hopefully.

After that he closed his eyes and tried to doze off.

The Silhouette, Valus Mountains

Come now, to the east!
his voice once again rang out calling those who were evil. His power was growing, things were not right and people were becoming uneasy. The mountains became, darker, sunlight seemed to fade away under the increasing clouds. The Silhouette returned, to an ancient tower up in the highest peaks of the velothi mountains. He was becoming stronger, things were not right in he area. Wild orcs had begun coming out of the mountains, burning villages in morrowind, the house of dres, composed of a council of vampires, seemed to be disputing retaliation against the orcs, which most of the other houses agreed to.

"I suppose the Silhouette is not meeting you for his own reasons" she said to the argonian "and I would have no idea what those reasons are. We know not his name and we know not his reasons for anything" she said to the argonian.

Dalrus noticed the change in everyone and felt some power from the east as well. Something was not right. "Flint, i will watch do not worry, if you start to go crazy i will feel it." she said assuring him. "We have a whole day ahead of us and we should be in the city within at least twelve hours" she said to no one in particular.

The Silhouette, Valus Mountains

"Yes, you can be a part of us" she said to the argonian. "My name is rendav, i am the leader of the black bow bandits, and mouth of the Silhouette."

The Silhouette stood looking over Cyrodiil once more. To his back a burning city of Morrowind, recently raided, to his front, lush green lands. Goblins by the thousands were pouring in and most of the major tribes had now come.

Ian, making his own way to the Imperial City

Ian rushed through the forest between Chorrol and the Imperial city. He wished he could travel as fast as karn, who could move so fast he dissappeared, ian however could only become a blur. Of course I'm not an elf, now am I? He thought wryly. As he leapt over a stream he halted. "Come to the East?"

Ian paused, this voice is getting on my nerves. he thought angerly. But I can't be the only one hearing it, so could it be that anyone with a small bit of evil in them hears this voice? This prospect troubled him. Only something of great power could cast this message over Tamriel.....

Karn

The Valus Mountains were huge, but Karn picked his way through the brush steadily. The voice is strong and it has to be a vile creature to affect things from such a distance...... I can't wait to find its source.

As he topped the next rise he beheld an unexpected sight, as far as the could see, there were beings who felt the voice's touch. With the shock gone, Karn smirked. This will be very enjoyable.

As he walked into the mob of goblins, bandits, man, and mer, an Agronian and Orc female were conversing and Karn decided to investigate.......

ooc: I'm going to say what he did with Jonathan and then blank out, and coming back at the present time.

Sodsa smiled at Jonathan's joke and more or less collapsed on the bed in the room. No sooner had Jonathan left the room, Sodsa passed out from loss of blood.

Sodsa opened his eyes and stood up, but he was no longer in the castle, well, sort-of. Sodsa turned around only to see everything but the bed he was in burning, the castle was razed, along with everything else for the most part, save a shack or two. The whole horizon was on fire, as far as the eye could see and an ebony tower the almost touched the sky was in the place of the once righteous white gold tower that stood in the imperial city. As Sodsa walked through the dream world he saw the faces of many friends and some of those that he met recently. There was a laugh from a clocked figure perched on one of the buildings and after it started to turn away, Sodsa felt as if his body was on fire, then everything flashed, and went black.*

Sodsa sat up in the bed in a cold sweat. "What in Oblivion was that? Literally." Sodsa muttered and raised his arm to wipe the sweat and hair from his eyes, forgetting that that was his wounded arm. Sodsa grunted and did the job with his other one. "Not as bad but it still hurts."

Sodsa swung his legs off the bed and walked through the remotely empty castle. He saw a lady walking down the hall and he reach to touch her, "Excuse me Miss I-" Before he could say any more two guards tackled him when he touched the lady. "Blast, the Hell was that fo-"

"Shut it Bosmer, and never touch the Countess again."

Sodsa cursed himself. "The Countess, My apologies, I was wondering what happened, and if we won."

The Countess almost smiled and signaled the guards off of him. "I see, you must be the missing warrior that helped save the town. I just send the others on a mission to stop the evil in the east. They should be outside the town by now, you had best hurry up."

Sodsa stood up and brushed himself off, "My apologies again, Well i think i'll take my leave now, Chao." Sodsa bowed and took a few steps back before turning and headed to the front gate of the town.

Flogir, dreaming

A black miasma enveloped Flogir's vision. It felt bitterly cold and barren in the darkness when suddenly two shafts of light erupted in his mind's eye. Only these shafts of light were far from inviting. They were a bright, but deep purple colour, shaped so that Flogir percieved them to be quite menacing. "Come to the east!" it whispered in a voice that sounded much like a hiss. The only thing was that it was so loud that Flogir thought his ears would explode. "Come to the east!"

Flogir shuddered in his mule and woke.

"By the Divines!" he said in a shocked whisper, and nearly fell from his mule.

Jonathan did notice the scowl, and thought about returning one of his own. "Hmph, I only said hello to Satyana.. By the nine.. Sure she's something to look at but jeeze, if she's that afraid that I would go behind her back.." He did manage a look at Satyana, she appeared delved into her own thoughts. "Well, thats fine.. I suppose"

Jonathan was about to say something to Flogir, when he heard the voice again.. He felt the chill as he did earlier, but resisted it much better. However it seemed to have affected Flogir as well and he held a hand out to steady the Nord.

"You too, eh?" Jonathan said, glancing at Dalrus again.

Dalrus thought a lot about the goings on, and about Jonathan. He had obviously looked at Satyana in an interested way, though it was half Satyana's fault and Dalrus knew that Yana was definitely interested. Dalrus rode next to Jonathan, though she still looked at Rann as she was riding. "Hey Jonathan," she tried to say as normally as possible. Dalrus also realized they never said they were officially going out so she was being unfair to him.

"Thanks," Flogir said to Jonathan, "Whatever is doing that must be getting quite powerful if it's affecting me. I consider myself a nice guy!"

He didn't know if his quip would lighten the mood or not but it was worth a try. He noticed that Dalrus was initiating a conversation with Jonathan, and judging by her expression, Flogir thought it was meant to be a private one.

"I'll just excuse myself," he said to the two before pushing his mule up ahead of them. Maybe he would talk with Rann a bit.

Ian, outskirts of Lake Rumare

He took another bounding leap and passed through the treeling. Ian beheld the granduer of the Imperial City. It was built like a clock each arranged around a single huge tower, White Gold Tower, The Imperial Palace.
The entire city was situated on an island in the center of Lake Rumare. The only way to enter the city (aside from swimming) was the long bridge that connected City Isle with the rest of Cyrodiil. In terms of military tactics, it was a steel nut. The guard could hold off a powerful army for months before the walls were breached.
Ian closed his eyes and reached out to his surroundings. Ah, there almost here. i might have a few hours before they arrive. Then he searched the city for one mind in particular. Issac..... He called out.
