The Metal Mallet
Flogir

Flogir, with a glass of mead in hand and a flushed face, approached the sombre looking Imperial. He offered his free hand.

"The name's Flogir. I was just wondering, now with that Dunmer gone, what that was all about? Seems odd for a sudden attack like that, but I guess you two have a history of some sorts?" he inquired, looking at the Imperial thoughtfully.
Lord Revan

Ian

As Ian walked into the great hall, a Nord offered his hand and introduced himself. Ian cautiously took the Nord's hand and shook it. "My name is Ian, I'm a 'private contracter'." Then in respounce to Flogir's question. "Yes, we know each other, and sudden attacks tend to be a ninja's style. Don't they?" If not his tone, Ian's look should have translated to: Let's keep the past, the past. Mind your own mead. he hoisted his pack over his shoulder, as he was already back in his graduation robes...... then as an afterthought. "His name is Karn." And he decided to pay the tavern a visit, I won't drink anything, but instead just kill time...... then I'll skip town.......
The Metal Mallet
Flogir

Flogir watched Ian walk away placidly. He shook his head slowly side to side, a bit of a smirk on the corner of his mouth.

Not a social person it seems... he mused as he returned to his drink.

He understood that some people rather left things about the past go unsaid. Heck, he was guilty of it himself; as he was often not in the mood to speak of his service in Kvatch often. It was still somewhat painful, even to this day.

Flogir's smirk faded as images of those hellish times rose to the foreground of his mind. Instead it was replaced with a somber expression.

Now is definitely the time to get drunk... he thought as he drained his mug of ale and went to go get another one.

Rann

Rann stood still as the crowd began to disperse. With the main excitement over, many of the servants began to slvage what they could of the feast. It amazed him how fast everything was fixed. The courtyard of the palace looked as if nothing had happened to disturb the merriment. More partygoers began to arrive, joyous music began to play, and food was being served.

He suddenly realized that he hadn't moved, so he sheathed his weapon and headed towards the great hall, swiping a piece of pie on his way.

He knew that Satyana would probably be busy with healing the bosmer, but he had to talk to her. Shielding his mind was now a priority.

Before he got halfway there, he noticed Ian leaving.

"You're going to chase that guy, right?" he asked, referring to Karn, of course.
Lord Revan

ian

As he walked into the couryard Ian noticed Rann. "No, I'll probably slam into him somewhere; that's how it's always been between Karn and I." It was truth, we always run into one another at the wrong times. "Perhaps we might see each other again, Rann, but contracts, clients, and money await me." Ian continued down the road, or I could follow them for awhile.

In the tavern, Ian took a roll of partchment and scribbled out a message:

Issac,

Meet me in the Imperial City next Loredas. I think I just found some prodagies......

Bring some hackle-lo with you.

Regards,
Your father

He made several handsigns and the letter vanished, whisked away to Morrowind. Ian decided to rest his eyes for a few minutes and fell asleep........

Rann

Rann let him go, and continued on his way. He entered the room to witness a nord filling himself with mead, Satyana healing the bosmer, and some breton guy being a little more than friendly.

As much as he wanted to hang out with a drinking nord, he couldn't teach the art of keeping telepaths out of your mind.

"Hey." he said to Satyana as he approached, killing whatever moment there may have been. At that moment he noticed Satyana's eyes.

Not used to seeing that outside of the mirror. he thought, not even guessing that he could possibly have a nord for a sister.

Dalrus, Chorrol

Dalrus saw Jonathan being interested in Satyana, and while under any normal circumstance Dalrus would be happy for Satyana, this made her sad. A tear rolled down her cheek, though it did not mess up her make up. She walked from her booth and a bunch of guys at a table whistled and yelled at her. She ignored them and walked inside. "How can he be so heartless," she growled to herself. Suddenly Teekeeus came out of the corner. "Dalrus, come, come quick to the mages guild needs to discuss something" he said leading her off. He got on his flea bitten pony and rode off towards the Oak traffic circle. Dalrus got on Ryyden, her snow white mare, and rode after him.

The mages guild was in an uproar as she arrived. "Dalrus, Rieanr is dead." said Teekeeus as she arrived. "What?!" she said, her eyes wide in disbelief. Rieanr was Dalrus's mentor when she first started, and since then they had been good friends. Dalrus felt the cold realitly and tears rolled down her cheeks. Two heart-crushing things in a row, first Jonathan then this.

"How??" she said horrified.

"We don't know, however, she was covered in burns of some kind, though we have never seen this magic before. She...she was killed slowly." Teekeeus seemed to be holding back tears. He swallowed, "She chased after a necromancer who had attacked a farm west of Chorrol. We told her to let Bruma handle as it had just moved into their jurisdiction. She would hear none of that and went after him. We heard nothing for a month, when suddenly a rider came from Cheydinhal. He said he found one of our members, judging by her symbol on her robe." he took a breath. "That was about an hour ago and she was not dead yet. She was suffering, and she awoke, though she was barely concious. She whispered one word, 'Möldairę,'" He stopped. Dalrus felt cold when he said that evil word.

"What are we going to do?" she asked Teekeeus.

"I will go see Silnder the Arch-Mage. Fear not, he is the most intelligent person in the civilized world, he will know what to do," he said getting a bag ready. "Dalrus, its time you learn everything," he said taking her into a back room and teaching her many things of magic. She had the skill and magic reserve, she just needed to know the spells that would make her worthy of a master.

Green-Root, near Cheydinhall.

The Argonian wandered through the forest. There was a fire nearby which meant, people to rob. He crouched down among the bushes, his green scales forming the perfect camouflage.

,,I can't wait to get there. I mean, I have this feeling. If we join this guy, we'll rule the worl!" A half-drunk Nord shouted to his companions who were seated around the campfire.
,,Yeah, that mental call is something I just can't resist."

Green-Root listened with interest. He too had heard the voice speak in his mind yet he knew he could resist it. Still, everything pointed to a possible fortune to be made here. He would find the owner of that voice and serve him, for now.

Green-Root slipped away from the fire without being noticed. It would do him no good to get on the bad side of his potential employer by killing these men and taking their possessions.

Rann nodded. "And where would that be?" he asked, looking around.

Satyana

"Follow me" she said, then hurried away down the corridor , up the stairs to the second floor, then she opened a narrow door to a small room which contained a bed, a small table and a chest of drawers.

"This is sort of my room" she said "Nobody comes here, the Countess dedicated it to me, to use when she needs me to work during longer times"

Oh Rann....this is hard but I dare not tell you..just yet....I think..no Iīm convinced that...youīre my twin-brother!.

The Silhouette, Near Cheydinhal

The Silhouette's influence was growing, countless were answering his call. All the goblins from the mountains, thousands, would answer his call. For now they waited in their caves, while the bandits all moved into the Valus mountains. Silnder rode into the came followed by seven mages who were of different positions within the mages guild. Dark brotherhood assasins came too, along with blackwood company soldiers. The Silhouette and the rest of the Möldairę stopped with their rides through the forest, their shadow was already a rumour around Cyrodiil. The voice of the Silhouette was heard everywhere in the minds of those who were wicked. A tribe of Orcs came down from the Velothi mountains, though not evil at first, orcs grew angry at being called barbarian, and all the prejudice. The count of Cheydinhall and morrowind had long drivin them into the mountains. No longer, now they would strike back.

The silver tongued leader of the black bow bandits marched up to the mountains one day, follwed by around three hundred archers. Rendav was famous for her wits and the Silhouette was expecting her.

"Greetings Dark One," she bowed before him.

"Speak for me..." the Silhouette hissed, he was not visible in the dark cave, all that was seen was two glowing purple eyes.. He had sent her a message that she would be his archer leader along with being his communication to any normal people who wanted to visit.

Kayark-gro-yalash came down from morrowind followed by five hundred orc warriors. "We fight for you, and freedom!" he said bowing his head and lifting his enourmous battle axe. Durzog riders came in bearing news that the empire was fearful, but had not yet learned of what exactly was in the mountains

"They will never know what who was up here" the silhouette said in an evil whisper. "I am a myth, to them, only a myth" he said looking over Cyrodiil from the high mountains.

Voltar, in his hideaway North of Anvil

Voltar was becoming annoyed by the whisperings of some voice inside his mind. It always wanted him to go to the East, to meet with the owner. Well he had things to do! His intentions were not truely evil, simply an obsessesion that could be the downfall of others. Voltar didn't understand the concept of evil, all he understood was that he wanted to free Veric. To meet a man who weilded such power would prove beneficial to himself.

Brushing the whisperings aside, Voltar continued to search through the pages of a thick book.

Soon, Veric, I will have you out of that place you call home, he thought.

Flint Ironwood, leaving the castle.

Flint finished his flin and decided he needed some time alone. He cast his jump spell which took him to the top of the castle. Up there, he felt his eyes wander off to the east. Something was pulling him. Not quite him, but a small dark part hidden inside him. He shivered as vague images of a shadowy being in a ruined city flashed in front of his eyes.
,,What happened in Lainlalten? I've never quite been myself since then." He thought.

Flint shook his head and climbed down the wall till he reached the ground again. He went back to the Lokken tavern where he told the place's owner to keep his horse and wagon. He then lied down on the bed in his room. Maybe he would go to the east, maybe not.

Green-Root, near Cheydinhall.

Green-Root found what he was looking for in the form of a gathering army. Goblins, Orcs, humans and elves. All kinds of creatures where there. Even a few Daedra marched around. The Argonian walked along the groups casually, hoping to find whoever was in charge here so that he could offer his services.

(Note, the dark part inside Flint is actually the bit Mazelure planted inside him during To Heir is Human I. Mazelure was a being of pure evil and as such would definitely respond to the Silhouette's voice. Since Mazelure doesn't seem to be involved with the rp anymore, I'll just have it act like some sort of Silhouette alarm. Not that Flint understands the meaning of his feelings.)

He didn't get it; how could a nordic woman be his sister?

Satyana

Satyana sighed.....it was obvious he had not blocked his mind....now she had a great del of explaining to do and she didnīt know how to begin.

"Look Rann.....itīs a long story, and all I can tell you is what my grandmother told me. You see Iīm a halfbreed, my ..ehh our mother was half Dunmer half Imperial!....So you are 1/4 Imperial! ...... What happened, twenty years ago was that a woman called Brianna, gave birth to three babies, the odd thing was...that apparently there were at least two, maybe three different fathers to the babies. Itīs a strange thing but it can happen on rare occasions if a woman.....sort of sleep with different men within a short period of time. Now Brianna was a friendly girl and men liked her.....very much as a matter of fact!"

Satyana stopped and sat down....this wasnīt going well, she gave the impression their mother was a....bad woman and she wasnīt really, Serene had said so and Serene never lies!

"Very well, how it happened, I donīt know, but Brianna was together with this man Jadier, a Nordic nobleman, who obviously is my father, and met a voilent death, unfortunately.....but at the same time she was seduced by this ...this charming dunmer assassin, Rahvin....your father. It must have happened during the chaotic circumstances where poor Jadier was killed. Now I donīt know if there was a third man involved, but the fact remains......you are my brother and we also have a sister who was stolen very soon after the birth. The only thing we have in common....all three of us are the color of our eyes..and since that is a rare color....."

Satyana lowered her head......

Now what will he think about this? Will he accept me as his sister? I wonder why Rahvin never told him?

"Now there is another thing.....there is some curse upon us...our mother was chased throughout Cyrodiil just because she was pregnant, someone wants us dead Rann! And I donīt know why! Iīm not sure Serene know either!..And I donīt know if Brianna is dead or alive!"

Sodsa was hobbling into the building with the two's help and before Satyana could say anything, Sodsa jumped into the conversation for a second, "Thanks for the help, Jonathan. The name's Sodsa, Sodsa Hekal."

"Abosolutely no problem my friend" Jonathan gave a slight smirk when Rann.. "interupted" them, but he'd manage. "Think of it this way, if you hadn't of been hurt then, it might of been me then.." He chuckled a bit, hoping that Sodsa would see the joke.

"Anyways, I off to get drunk, layed, and happy, well possibly not in that particular order.. Farwell." Not but thirteen paces outside the room however his jolly spree to the beverage bar was interupted by an official looking courier of the sort. "Nice pants.." Jonathan joked as the courier approached, in his stockings. If it insulted him it was apparent in his facial expression.

"Good day m'lord, the Countess wishes to see the heroes of Chorrol in her audience hall. If you'll fol.."
Jonathan stepped in for a second, "Wait! What about the alcohol? Don't tell me I don't get to drink myself silly tonight?!"

"I'm sorry m'lord, perhaps after your meet..." the courier began to retort.

"Well then! Lead the way fancy pants!" Jonathan exclaimed.

Jonathan Constantine

In fact Jonathan did topple right out his chair when Rann spoke. He landed on the ground, half dazed, half stunned, all annoyed.

"I don't know.. Heroes of Chorrol or something.. guess something to do with that bloke earlier." He paused and rubbed his eyes. "You know.. I had the weirdest dream.. Something about this guy Megil, and a city.. Something about Vvardenfell.. Magnificient city it was."

Jonathan stood up and almost removed his eye patch, but caught himself before he actually did. Its not that he didn't have an eye, and its not that it didn't work.. It's just that it was odd.. A instance in his past, one with foul magicka changed his eye, and it remained solid white, no pupil. However he could still see as it still existed, in fact he gained the ability to see in a plane that seemingly did not exist. So the eyepatch didn't even hinder his vision, but used it to his advantage in many a situtiation. After all, closing your eyes and still being able to see is always a plus.

"Send me instead." Rahvin pleaded.

"No." the Countess replied, "I won't have your son doing your entire job. He'd make a terrible mess of things without you telling him what to do. He has nowhere near the amount of experience you do."

"Then why send him off on this kind of mission?"

"He won't be alone, Rahvin, and I want you here to do your job."

They grew nearer to the door to the great hall, and fell silent.

Rann

Rann noticed him fumbling with his patch, but didn't ask about it, or even act as if he had noticed.

Everyone has their secrets. he thought, rubbing his arm where his tattoo sat under his clothes. He knew it was more than mere ink, as it looked identical to his father's. No artist could recreate such a thing with such precision.

What exactly it was, he never found out.

"Great, that means I can get going." he answered, not caring much for fame. He turned to leave, but was stopped as the Countess and his father entered.

"Sit down, Rann." the Countess ordered.

As he sat, she looked around. "There's only three of you. Where are the others?" She asked.

"Satyana should be here soon." Rann replied. "Don't know about anyone else."

"Well it looks like we'll be waiting here for awhile, doesn't it?" the Countess said as she sat down in her own large, comfortable, and imposing throne.

Ian

Ian crossed his arms over his chest. This doesn't bode well....... Wonder what could upset sweet Valga He thought jokingly..... He could think these thoughts because he was experienced in disiplines that helped guard one's mind from intrution. The Countess and an older Dunmer strode into the room. Now that Ian thought of it Rann greatly resembled this older mer.
He certainly looked more experienced than the young man. Could be his father.... He mused. Ian took a leaning position on the wall arms still crossed, and stared at the floor. Might as well see how this turns out..........

Flogir

By the time Flogir arrived at the meeting, most of the participants in the fight were all ready waiting. Even the Countess was present.

"Sorry I'm late," he said, his words slurred by alcohol, "I was busy.... celebratin'." A sheepish grin spread across his face.

"I brought an extra mug of ale. Who wants it?" he asked, raising the mug in the air, the head of the ale slopping over the rim of the glass onto the floor.

"Sorry! Sorry!" he said apologetically.

Damnit fool! Don't embarass yourself in front of the noble! he chided himself as he tried to compose himself.

Jonathan Constantine

"I could cry.. That beautiful mug of ale.. spilled everywhere.. You big oaf, have a seat before to much of that mead goes to your head.." Jonathan got up and let Flogir have is seat.

OOC: minque asked that we drag Satyana along, so we can take minimal control of her

Rann

Rann raised his hand when Flogir asked who wanted the ale, but promptly put it back down when he caught the Countess sending him a not-so-friendly glare.

Satyana entered then, for some reason taking a bit longer than he to get down here. She quietly sat down and waited for the meeting to officially begin.

"Where's the bosmer? And that other breton?" he asked, trying to get the Countess's attention away from his previous slip-up.

"Don't get your undergarmets in a knot, I only spilt a little," Flogir said heatedly as he headed towards the chair.

"I'll gladly take that chair though," he said as he handed the extra mug over to Jonathan.

"Take it, it'll calm your nerves. You seem a little uppity," he said chuckling, a wide grin on his face. He then remembered the current situation, so he forced a serious expression and looked around at everyone else.

"So what's the point to this meeting? Or are there some more people to wait for yet? I think I remember that the pretty lass from the Lokken Inn was helping us out. She's probably went home..." he said to no one in particular.

"Oh, you mean.. Dalrus..." He then looked over at Satyana. "Damn't, talk about having my knickers in a knot.."

"I believe she went towards the Mages Guild, however I'm not to entirely certain.." Jonathan sipped the ale, "And maybe I am a bit uppity, having someone blatantly trying to kill you kinda plays with your nerves if you know what I mean. Those shurkins were sharp.."

Flogir

Flogir guffawed. "I guess I should've brought an extra mug of ale for you as well, Sel," he said, still unaware of Rann's real name.

Having spent a lot of his time listening to people talk. Flogir had a good idea on hidden meanings when people said things. For instance, he could tell that Sel wasn't very impressed with Jonathan's character. Sure, Jonathan can be a bit of an boatmaster, but he seemed to be the type you could either tolerate or even like. Flogir had to admit, even with just the little bit of talking he had done with all the people here, he figured he could talk with Jonathan the easiest. He seemed to at least have a sense of humour.

Ohwell, things can't always be perfect for me, can they? he thought absently.

Rann

"It's Rann." he corrected. "I lied - you understand." he said, obviously not wanting to delve too deep into how they already knew each other.

He was actually surprised that Flogir - if that was really his name - didn't catch the lie, seeing as the name Sel was pretty well-known, even if nobody had a real face to put to that name.

Jonathan Constantine

"Sel? I thought his name was Rann?" Jonathan motioned towards Rann, or at least who he thought Rann was.

"I thought Sel was the mer that helped fight against Arcyakt with Serene and several other heroes? That was quite a long time ago though.. Back before the emperor died I believe." Jonathan sat back now, he was intrigued and oddly, always loved discussing history even given his rebellious tendencies.
Lord Revan

Ian

As the conversation continued Ian noticed that the older assassin seemed as detatched from the dialog as he was. Spurred on by some onconsious habit Ian abandoned his position on the wall, and approached the Dunmer. "Greetings, assassin," he adressed him in a measurebly quiet voice. "I take it that Rann is your son." Then without waiting for an answer. "He has quite a bit of potential." Ian would gadge the elf's response and find out his basic character...... Hopefully he is a kindred spirit......
The Metal Mallet
Flogir

Flogir laughed loudly to coverup his embarassment. He should've known that Rann wouldn't have used his real name for such business.

"Of course I know who the real Sel is, or was, or whatever. Maybe the name became popular because of what he did, ya know. It has been over 20 years. There can be more than one Dunmer named Sel," Flogir said to cover himself. He decided to add something else.

"My name IS Flogir, if any one of you are wondering now."

Flogir sat back in his chair, annoyed now that people seemed to be questioning his intelligence. Then a thought crossed his mind.

Damn! I should've blamed the booze! That would've been better...

Rann

"Yeah, Sel's kind of a childhood hero of mine. First name that popped into my head at the time, I guess." he said, respecting Sel's wish for privacy by not revealing the fact that he knew the mer.

Rahvin

Rahvin smiled a bit. "If he ever gets something between those ears, he'll do fine." he said in response to Ian.

He looked over at the countess, who seemed very frustrated at the tardiness of the few absent guests, as well as the conversation before her.

Ian

Ian cocked his, but nodded. "Don't worry," He gestured toward the young ones. "Their under my wing and I'll do all I can to see that everyone gets out of this in as few pieces as possible."
Then he paused. "I know how it is to raise a boy without a mother to lend a hand." A thought went through Ian's mind. "What kind of assassin training did you get? Professional or self-taught?"
If it's the later, then this mer might not be all I thought he was......

Flogir was sitting so nice and comfortably in his chair that he suddenly felt very drowsy. The alcohol was certainly adding to the effective of his sleepyness.

Before he knew it, Flogir passed out on the chair, head slumped against the armrest, and his mouth wide open.

Jonathan Constantine

Jonathan chuckled softly, obviously the booze had already got to him. So Rann, or maybe Sel? I'm curious what you do for a living? I saw how you fight.. Not fair, but I won't kid you, whatever works works, I suppose." He realized his slip up, the entire reason for going to Chorrol was to loot these peoples houses as they slept and he never fought fair, so how could he explain that. "Damn't now I'll probably have to come up with something myself... Merchant, no.. Hired Blade, no... Vagabond, hehe, well no.. Damn.."

OOC: My last post before going away, darn it now when Iīm off for a couple of days this is getting somewhere! But as I said, Satyana will stick with you guys!

Satyana

She smiled when she noticed the brotherly concern from Rann. And Rahvin! She could understand why her mother had a soft spot for him! Now she just sat there, listening. In due time her task in this would be revealed. She was after all a healer, and a healer that sometimes could "see" what was going to happen.

Her eyes were resting at Jonathanīs features.....mmm yes he was charming and somehow she wished that Dalrus would be occupied with that Mageīs Guild-business.....a long time!

Ok Rann, youīll do fine, I have confidence in you....hope you get this!

She decided to try to get a chance to talk more to Rahvin.....later, just now she was more interested in getting to know more about Jonathan...

Satyana smiled again and listened carefully to the others, especially she was keen on finding out what all this was about.

Flint Ironwood, being rudely disturbed.

,,Are you the false assassin?" Flint awoke upon hearing the commanding voice. He rolled over in his bed to see who had spoken. It was an Imperial Guard.
,,Oh, great. I didn't know they would take it that personal."
,,Yeah, I am. What do you want?" He asked back.

,,The countess wants to see you, quite some time ago actually." The guard snapped.
Flint now knew he really was in trouble. He dressed up in his full gear just in case and then jumped all the way to the meeting room, entering the place through an open window.
,,Ok, now what is going on? All I was trying to do was prevent this huge brawl, which didn't quite work out. Now why do I have to be pulled out of my bed like that?" He demanded to know. It was then that he realized he wasn't alone.
,,Oh, hi guys."

He had been about to answer Jonathan, when Flint came through the window. HE used it as an excuse to change the subject.

Flogir woke by the arrival of Flint. He was a bit confused on why he was here.

"What are you doing here Flint? This here's for the people that helped out at the fight," he said. But then something dawned on him, "Oh, you were the Dark Brotherhood looking fellow! To tell ya the truth, I thought that would've been very stupid for an assassin to do, announcin' himself like that, but I understand now why ya did it."

"Humph, sense when did the Dark Brotherhood decide to help out with anything.. Mad cultists.." Jonathan mused dissaprovingly. "I mean, it's not like we didn't need your help but... Odd situations I guess.."

It did perplex him why a Brotherhood member would be so keen to help everyone, much more why he would announce what he was.. "People know his secret now.."

Dalrus, On her way to the Castle

A guard from the court of the countess came to the mages guild and told her she was wanted. Dalrus sighed and walked outside. The cool night air was refreshing from the overly warm inside of the mages guild where one of the alchemist had just made a new potion. Heat always came off from the mixtures and it became stuffy. She got on Ryyden and rode off towards the castle at a quick gallop.

She arrived and gave her reigns to one of the guards. He was about to refuse when he saw what the rider looked like and he blushed when she smiled at him. She walked into the main court of Ariana Valga and gave a respective nod to her. She rolled her eyes when she saw Jonathan and Satyana, and smiled at Rann, Rahvin, Ian, Flint, and Flogir

Flint got a bit angry at that bad. Still, he supposed it could be useful to be seen as an assassin. Rahvin knew of course that he was actually a big wimp but if the real assassin kept his mouth shut, no one would know.
,,What I do and why is my own affair. Now why exactly are we here?"

Green-Root, near Cheydinhall.

The Argonian bowed. ,,I have come to offer my services. This looks like the kind of thing I would want to be a part of. Though why did you come, and not your boss? Does he think it is below him to take care of his bussiness personally?" He said with an evil grin.
