Yea, I used to be really hardcore into Starcraft. I wouldn't mind getting into it again but I wouldn't think the old crowd I play with would be there anymore. Ohwell, looks like Tommy.Soprano will forever be in retirement.
And yea, Dark Archons were nice units. Especially if you could get away with mind controlling a harvester of another race, then you could start another race!

On Thursday, we had to take one of our dogs on that last trip to the vet. He had gotten to the point that his rear legs did not function properly, and he was falling a lot. It is always a hard choice, but this time it was harder, because neither of us had ever really "bonded" with this dog. He had belonged to my stepson, and, through a bunch of circumstances I won't get into, he ended up dumped on us. And we resented it. It was not the fault of the dog- but he ended up belonging to no one. We were not cruel to him- he was fed and had exercise and a large fenced yard... But he did not have companionship....
So, in the end, we had to do the last hard thing, the final kindness we owe to our pets, and the guilt made it even harder. So, even though this does not speak well of me, it is true. And it is a thing that I must process and accept as part of myself. And I hope that I am wise enough to learn the lesson that it teaches.

Jun 25 2006, 04:04 AM
I'm sorry Treydog

Not really sure what to say about it... I guess we all know what it feels like from when we've lost pets though. It wasn't your fault that you didn't 'bond' with the dog though. And you took care of him and gave him a decent standard of life. I guess for this you've just got to wait it out. Time is a great healer as they say (God that is so horribly cliche)
I still miss my dog. If it wasn't for the cancereous tumor he'd have lasted at least another 4/5 years (he was 8) since he was in such great shape.

Jun 25 2006, 04:35 AM
So sorry to hear that Treydog, but like Ramirez said - you gave the dog a comfortable home. We had a dog that we bonded with so much that we both still dream about him occassionally and I use his name on some sites as passwords. Still have his dogtag.
We had to give him away when we moved to a good home - but it is never easy to part with your pets. Unfortunately we outlive most of them, so sometimes as you've said - it is a final kindness, rather than letting them suffer.

Ive got a 16 year old dog, two years ago the vet said we were counting days.
Joke is she'll live forever, but each day means she is closer to death, and she's to the point to where she can die any second of any day.

Then again I was the one who had to go to the vet with my first cat when he got cancer......that time I walked out the door with a wooden box....containing the dead cat, because I wanted to bury him in our garden...which I also did.
So My thought are with you treydog, and I can easily understand that it´s worse just because the dog in question not really belonged to your family.....

*Mil sobers up, finally* aw, crudmonkeys

Obviously, it's not stable, since I am not using it from 11:00 CET. Apparently, it's not my ISP's fault - the whole national structure (read: DAMN TELEKOM SRBIJA) in Nis City is fudged up, so no one has Broadband - at the momment. But such things happen... however, I am resilient enough - after all, with all the crap I've endured lately, this is a walk in the park, really.
The important thing is, the BB is OPERATIONAL in the long run and that means I'll be able to download music, programs, stuff...

Frogs eat insects, fish at too big. However fish do eat tadpoles and I'm sure the larger/more vicious ones will have a go at a frog.

all snails are herbivorous. their radula is effetive at scraping algae. also tir body structure is as such that there is little brain powr, and also very overall weak muscles so it would be most ineffective at catching prey. they ar however opportunistic and will feast on dead carrion should it pass nearby.
On another note I injured my hand today and had to get 5 stitches.... -_-

Well you obviously haven't been to New Zealand, our snails can grow up to 1 metre, have orange shells and eat kittens, your snails, babies and Ibis. Well ok they mainly eat insects, but I'm sure they'd eat Ibis if given the chance, and not all of them are orange, just all the ones I've seen because I've only dealt with one species (about 15-20cm long), but most of them have shiny shells which makes them very pretty, I've seen a picture of a black one which looked cool.
Its the Powelliphanta Genus if you don't believe me, Paryphanta are also carnivorous but they are smaller and less colourful.
Getting stitches sucks, I had stitches in my lip once, quite painful. Luckly they don't hurt as much to remove so you've done the painful part, or painful parts if you include injuring yourself, with me injuring myself didn't hurt anywhere near as much as getting the stitches. How did you cut your hand?
