Satyana turned around and looked at the main computer....where were they? She went to it and sent a mayday ...just to have something to do


"MAYDAY, MAYDAY, support needed at RS413..immediately"

Edward-Close to MA-25

Edward was about to leave when an alarm signal came from his laptop, he looked at the screen, a message appeared:

MAYDAY, MAYDAY, support needed at RS413..immediately

"Hmm Rann look at this, apparently we aren't the only ones running into trouble today,"

Kiva, Space..
Kiva, who as always, had been cruising around hunting out Rykar ships and shooting them down, picked up the Mayday signal. His interest piqued, he turned the Edge towards the location of the signal, the sleek arrowhead-shaped fighter cutting through space towards Research Station 413. Soon the station came into view, and quickly grew in size as Kiva aproached.

"Research Center 413, what kind of support do you need exactly?" Kiva sent over the communications.

RS 413



An answer! Satyana grabbed the communication microphone, switched it to "send" mode and said as calmly as she could:

"Here is Research Station 413, Satyana Viann speaking, we need support here, we have this lunatic locked in in the laboratory facility and we don´t want to let him out without some support, because we don´t know what actions he will take, are you in the neighbourhood?..over"

Kratos
"Very funny wise guy. Now make sure you're strapped in, this is gonna be a bit rough" Kratos said as they entered the atmosphere. The ship began to shake and rattle, but it held to gethrer fine. They touched down a few minutes later. "Ok, that's it. Let's go" Kratos called over his shoulder to Veda

Veda
Mars, War Technology Center - Hangar

Veda leapt out of the ship taking a last look at his arm before walking up to Kratos.

"Should... be... this way I think" Veda said as he pointed his finger at several doors before stopping on one leading to the Combat Cybernetic Quarters.

Kratos
"Hey, your the one who they told where we were to go. Lead on, and don't get us lost again"

Kiva nodded, then realized this 'Satyana' couldn't see him nod, being in a space station and all. "Yeah, I'm closing on your position as well speak," Kiva replied. "I'm skilled in dealing with Lunatics, Rykar, and other scum."

Rann, Ship

"Huh? What?" Rann stammered, as he looked at the screen.

"Always trouble back at home." he commented as if it didn't matter. It didn't of course; Syke was there after all, and when he left, the HDF had been on its way.

"We're too far to get there in time for whatever's happening anyway." he said. "WE need to get to Jupiter before anything."

OOC: Just a question; Who were they running from earlier? The HDF? If so, why? They never did anything illegal.

Edward-MA-25
OOC:univ. police was sent to investigate edwards hurriedand unauthorized removal of expensive lab equipment. and due to our rather hasty and destructive escape, HDF would be notified. And also the HDF will try tracking us down do to the fact that Edward has taken all the rithum samples, so instead of being minor criminals i their eyes, incapable of seeing the cicumstances they will assume we stole quipment and took the rithum for ourselves.

"confirmed, anyways we are at the gate, see" he said point through the windows, the ship had pulled itself to face the gateway, and was slowly pulling up to the first ring,

"we will be long gone in less than 2 minutes,"

Edward said, as he relayed a message to the station, robotic arms uplinked with the ship ro ensure that it was centered, and wouldn't be destroyed by slipping out of the causeway to early,

"entering in 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1"
and then the ship was gone,

in hyper space

"alright it's a 45 minute flight to the junction, I guess we can jsut chill out till then,"

Veda

Veda went into the long and emptyy corridor. Several small signs pointed out where to go and he kept following the right one leading to Combat Cybernetics Quarters...

Kratos
"So, remind me again why we're here?"

Rann, Ship

"Right." Rann said, hoping that the HDF realized that he only shot down ships while they were still in the atmosphere, and none of the pilots hsould have been killed...

Of course, there was no way to prove that that was his intention...He shrugged it off; once they got some codes changed, everything would be fine.

"Want some food? I think there's some burritos or something in this thing."

Edward-MA-25

"Yeah sure," He said as he went to check the equipment. He started unpacking several instruments that he would be using during this flight to check out his hunch on the glowing rythum.

Rann, MA-25

Rann walked to the kitchen, but he stopped on the way to get to his small room. He opened a safe that contained a few scattered tools and a spare eye, just in case. He added the rithum crystal to the collection and closed the safe; hopefully he could get it formed into bullets soon.

He finally got to the kitchen and within seconds the burritos were hot and ready to eat. Rann frowned when he remembered that the only food here was burritos; Syke and he had got them cheaper in bulk and didn't feel the need for anything else. He wished that they had felt that need.

"Here." Rann said, handing Ed one. "I hope you like them. A lot" he said, not expecting Ed to catch the connotation.

"Then please hurry brfore this one will kick my laboratory-door into pieces"

Satyana sighed, all she wanted was to perform her research in peace......ah well this Kiva sounded really reassuring so hopefully the calm atmosphere would come back to RS413......she hoped so anyway

Syke, RS413

"I don't think he'll be getting anywhere, and the government will probably pay to replace anything he does happen to break." Syke said with a shrug. "Besides, he'll starve eventually."

He didn't really want to starve anyone, but maybe it would make thiis lunatic see reason.

Edward

Edward took the burrito, ad took a bite, "...thanks," He continued setting up the spectroscopes, refractometers, microscopes, and othe euiqpment htat e would be using.

"So why are we headed for Jupiter exactly?"

Satyana

"Hmmm....I guess you´re right Sykie...but I do not fancy a corpse in my lab....remember it´s foodstuffs in there, the health-authorities will never approve of me working in there if we end up with a ....a....corpse!!" Satyana shrugged....."Besides it will take forever to let him starve!!!"

Arthur, Research Station 413

Arthur stopped kicking the door, and leaned against it. It was rather cold in here, and he had just started to notice. He slid to the floor, and huddled up as best he could.

It didn't help, and he just kept getting colder. Suddenly he thought he heard a noise, and his eyes glanced quickly to the side, but he saw nothing. He glanced to the other side as well, and started to shake.

(OOC: He has Eremophobia, which is the fear of being alone or loneliness.)

Kiva, Research Station 413

Kiva slowed The Edge and docked it in one of the Research Station's starship bays. He popped the cockpit open and hopped out. Kiva collected his pistol and sword from the cockpit, leaving his assualt rifle and sniper rifle in the ship. One lunatic couldn't be that much trouble, he thoguht to himself as he closed the cockpit and sent the ship into its locked down mode.

After some wandering through the labrynith halls of the Station, Kiva managed to locate where Syke and Satyana were. "So, you folks called for lunatic-removal?" he said with a slight smirk.

Syke, RS413

"Talk to her about that one, I suggested starvation." he answered, returning the smirk.

"I'm Syke. You?" he asked, holding out his hand.

Satyana

"Yesss!" Satyana gave Syke "one of those eyes" as she had done when they were younger and turned to Kiva with a broad smile

"He´s in there" she said pointing to the reinforced steel-dor of the lab. "He´s silent now but he´s really been a nuiscance.....so please get him out of here"

With that she unlocked the door....

Kiva, RS413

Kiva took Syke's hand, shaking it. "Kiva Ryder," he said. Kiva nodded to Satyana, and released the handshake to pull out his pistol and move towards the door. He opened the door and was surprised to see a man, who had to be the guy he had to remove, huddled on the floor in front of the door. Kiva leveled his gun at the man quickly.

"You're...er...under arrest...? Something like that. Either way get yer boat outta there. Hands up too. No sudden movements, no funny business, and you won't get hurt. Try anything, and I will be forced to blow a rather large chunk of flesh from your body."

Juac Andrews
In the Middle of Nowhere

Juac played with the wiring a bit, a peice of the ships hull had turned inwards and sliced several fiber optic lines that connected the computer with the engines.

"Lets see.. Maybe.. No.. Ah-Ha!"

Power Systems 75%

"Thank the creator." The engines, or rather the one engine that remained jumped to life. Providing enough thrust to push the craft at a rough 70m/s. In this time he would reach the station in 23 years.

He started thinking aloud, coming up with various ideas on how to get back home. "Damn, if I actually make it, I'm hanging up my wings."

Kratos
Kratos looked with a bit of concern at Veda. He nudged him with his elbow. "Hey, buddy you alright? I said, where to now? Snap out of it man!"

Arthur, Research Station 413


"Death is better, a milder fate than tyranny." Arthur quoted Aeschylus as he stood, his fear dispersing even though the company was not exactly what he preferred.

"Then again," he spoke angrily, but raised his hands over his head in compliance, "I suppose you have never faced tyranny as I have. I'm sure you know the laws of war, and I will inform you now that I am a foreign officer and I expect to be treated properly as one. I have already been subject to inexcusable treatment by the idiots that run this Research Station."

He noticed Satyana and Skye standing behind Kiva.

"There was a full grown man here already. I suppose he's just a coward though. Couldn't take control of a weaponless man." Arthur, of course, was talking of Skye.

(OOC: Sorry again Wolf... Have had some real work the last week, installing software on my new computer etc. and I have worked my butt off helping a CSS clan setting up a server and working on the webdesign for their website... Sorry)

Veda
Mars, War Technology Center - Cybernetic's Quarters

"Oh sorry 'bout that mate. I think it most be this way" Veda said shaking his head followed by slapping himself in the face. The last days had been pretty hard with little sleep and a cybernetic arm that didn't work the way it actually should didn't actually give him more energy either...

Veda started walking again heading deeper into the corridor. It started getting pretty tight with people as they neared the end of the corridor where they could see the entrance to the Cybernetic Quarters.

Kratos
"No problem man, just maybe give me a little warning before you space out next time, ok?" he said with a laugh

Rann, Ship

"I know someone there; she's an old friend. And when I say old, I mean old. She's at least a hundred. She has a cute great-grand-daughter, though. Anyway, she's a wiz at cracking codes and such; much more talented than me." Rann admitted just before taking a bite of burrito.

"She can change the transponder codes of the ship so that this thing isn't beacon that shouts 'Rann' everytime a HDF patrol ship passes." He said with a mouthful of burrito. "She can even get us new chips for our computers." When Rann remembered that he had crushed Ed's, he added. "And I can buy you a new one too."

"Oh, and don't let her great-granddaughter get you into any trouble; it will all be blamed on you." Rann said with a wink.

"Hey look, only fifteen more minutes."



Syke, RS413

Syke shrugged; the man should have known very well that he was just trying to get his money, and he wasn't going to let this man get the better of him. Syke even went as far as to smile when he thought of what Rann's reaction might have been.

Edward-MA-25

"Ah..I see," he said as he put a live electrode against a piece of orange rithum. A small spark, and then the stone was a glow with a moving and lively layer, it occasionally reached up into the air like a flame. but it lasted only a second before the rithum returned to normal and the voltage reading read that the battery was dead.

Hmm interesting he thought removing the electrode finding it melted and damaged.

and then they were at the junction, his laptop read a message,

"Leavings MA-25 and heading for JU-01 estimated flight time will be 30 minutes, before we are orbiting Jupiter"

Rann, Ship

Rann had been about to tell a story before he realized that Ed wasn't paying attention and obviously didn't care.

He made it look like he had opened his mouth for eating by shoving the rest of his burrito in it.

"Sho it shoul ve avout firvy mibuves?" he asked through a mouthful of food.

OOC: took you a while to understand he wasn't listening lol

Edward- ship

"mhmmm" edward muttered as he examined the melted electrode, he lifted it up and gestured to Rann,

"What do you make of this?"

"Idiot huh? pfff.....you come here harrassing us, me and my brother, then you try to destroy my lab! Please get him out of here!

"What´s the matter Syke?" She looked curiously at her brother......"Who is this lunatic?"

Rann, Ship

Rann looked at it quizzically, before thinking aloud.

"Does this mean rithum can be used as some sort of power source?"

Rann looked at the computer again; 17 minutes.

Edward-ship


Edward put the voltmeter to the rithum, it registered no current,

"No quite the opposite, it discharged all the energy it was provided in that flame. but mroe than that I would guess it somehow qunatified that energy, did you see how it peaked furthest from the electrode, it's as if electrons in the rithum were suddenly energized and seperated from their nuclues and then moved away fromt eh negative current of the electrode. Though I am just guessing, but it would explain why the fragment in your pocket earlier started glowing when it came into contact with the power source. I'll have to run more detailed experiments on this one."

Rann, Ship

"Right, have fun with that." Rann said.

Damn, he remembers that I took some.

"I'm going to go get another burrito." he announced as he walked back to the tiny kitchen that the ship had.

He cooked it and ate it, and by the time he walked back to the cockpit, they were entering Jupiter's atmosphere.

He sat down in the pilot's chair. "If any HDF tries to talk to us, ignore it no matter what."

"I know where to land to not get caught."

Edward-ship

Edward stood up and walked into the cockpit,

"Roger that captain," he said with a smirk on his face, "Any Ideas were to go after this?"

(OOC: I have to do something about this . . .something really CRAZY!!!)

Arthur, Research Station 413

Arthur hung his head guilitily.

But he was actually thinking . . .

Suddenly he lashed out, propelling himself forward and grabbing hold of Satyana in one swift move. He spun around her and wrapped one arm around her neck.

"Lower the damn weapon!"

Kiva, RS413

Kiva didn't lower the weapon, he kept it leveled at Arthur. "You're a damn fool," he said. "You know if you do anything to her you are screwed, and now you've added to your list of crimes, so that you're looking at worse punishment if you manage to survive this. I suggest you halt this before I am forced to blow your arm off at the elbow, which I really don't want to do 'cuz I don't wanna get the lady all messy."

She stood absolutely still, slightly suffocating from Arthurs arm around her neck.....thinking about her next move.....

Syke, RS 413

Syke had his own gun shouldered in a flash.

"If you hurt her, I will kill you." he said flatly, his hand tightening on the grip.



Rann, Ship, Jupiter

Rann looked at Ed. "How about the Rykar Empire?" he asked, trying to keep his voice sounding serious.

He continued flying the ship out of sight of the biodomes before landing beside a tiny biodome, obviously not under the human government's control. They probably didn't even know that it existed.

"Just wait; once she knows we're here, she'll give us boarding access."

Rann's finger sat on the button to open the hatch.

Ed-ship

Ed smiled,

"sounds great, I've always wantec to die in a most stupid and ridiculous manner" Ed said sarcastically.

he glanced out the window to the dome,

"looks like a ncie place,"

Arthur, Research Station 413

Arthur relaxed his grip on Satyanas neck, but did not release her.

"Crimes? I haven't committed any except this one here, which I'll have you know wasn't exactly what you'd call enjoyable. Especially with two guns leveled at me."

He paused for a second before glancing at Skye.

"I was performing a military operation, and I initially meant no harm to any of the civillians stationed on board this research station." Arthur rolled his eyes.

"Turns out she is the only civillian stationed onboard. The rest of you seem well equipped and armed."

He released his grip completely from around Satyanas neck.

"You can shoot me now, or let me go, because I am not just going to let myself be taken into custody."

He begun to back out of the laboratory door.

(OOC: If you do shoot him, don't be very creative in exactly where the bullet hits.)

Rann, Ship, Jupiter's surface

"Yeah, if you're a reclusive old hermit." Rann replied, as he saw the tunnel reaching out from the biodome to attach to his ship.

He finally got to push the button that his finger had been on, and he stood immediately.

"Come on, you'll finally get to meet the oldest person alive. Something you can tell your friends for years to come."

He tightened his gun belt and put on his jacket before walking through the tunnel towards the biodome.

Ed-Jupiter's surface
"Nothing wrong with being a reclusive old hermit," he said as he got up and straightened his shirt, he then followed Rann into the biodome.

La-Ippera Artinma the Terrible
Rykian Controlled Space, Above Marcellous IV

A darkly clad figure stood upon the bridge of the Intercepter, a capture human vessel of the battleship status. Among him lay the bodies of Captains and lowly sailors alike, all dead. The blood bathed numerous locals of the ship, but none more so then the bridge. Eventually the still was broke, from the silence came loud scraping noise, one that would accompany the sound of claws scraping against the metal hull of a ship.

His attention caught, a growl of a voice escape, "So.. The battle was in our favour?" The figure stood, back to the uncoming sound.

"Yesss.. The huuumannss didn't expect us. There numberss of dead are greaat!" The voice hissed from the darkness.

The cloaked Rykian shifted slightly, as if annoyed, "Then explain to me why 26 of my vessels are in-operable."

"The huumaannss are stronngg myy greaat lord, they do not give up easily!" The hissing voice sped its pace a bit, sounding fairly nervous.

"Well, see to it that there are no more losses.. Or you might learn how it feels to loose. Consider yourself spared, I am going to the planetside."

The cloaked Rykian moved at a brisk pace down the hall, and to the right. Within minutes the sound of a ship releasing from the dock resounded down the hall.

Rann, Irma's Dome

Rann stopped, and grabbed Ed by the arm to make him stop too.

"Okay, here's some basic information you'll need."

"First, call her Miss Irma. She's weird about stuff like that. Say 'yes ma'am'. No 'yeah's or 'uh-huh's. Same goes for 'no's."

He thought for a second. "Ir- Miss Irma's great-granddaughter's name is Lily. Call her miss too, if you're around Miss Irma."

"Got that? Basically, be almost too polite, and you'll be fine."

Rann didn't bother saying what might happen if one didn't abide by these rules. The first time he had come here with Syke, his brother thought it would be some great joke if Irma set her armed robots after him for not knowing he had to say 'miss.' It took over four hours for him to stop running from them, and another six or seven to finally turn them all into scrap metal.

After that, Irma took a liking to him, and then her reaction to him went to neutral after the whole incident with Lily...

"Here. just in case." Rann added, handing Ed a pistol.

Edward-Jupiter's surface

"Miss Irma," Ed told himself several times under his breath, "I think I can manage that, I have after all spent the past 6 years at a University talking with superiors."

Reluctantly Edward took the pistol Rann offered him. Though he knew he could control his diction, Ed was stil slightly nervous at meeting this woman,

"So how old is she?"

Rann, Irma's Dome

"No clue. If you want to ask, wait until I'm not around."

"Speak of the devil." he muttered under his breath.

Irma was obviously old; she had white scraggly hair that seemed to go everywhere, and sagging, wrinkly skin, but her eyes didn't look glazed over with age, and she seemed to walk perfectly fine, making the cane she carried for purposes of hitting people only.

"Rann Viann if I'm not mistaken. Why are you here?" she asked angrily, pointing her cane at him.

Okay, maybe it's a little worse than neutral.... Rann admitted to himself.

"Hello, uh, Miss Irma." Rann said, almost forgetting the Miss. This woman made him extremely nervous.

"Me and uh, Ed, here, we uh, were going to ask a favor." Rann said, stumbling over his own words. "If you don't mind." he added hastily.
