Kaushad finally finished briefing, separating the new warriors into five different groups, two of which were to move to the Grazelands, and the other three groups were to draw Telvanni guards to the Grazelands. He was exhausted. Theyt seemed like they organized well but frankly he felt like in battle they simply wouldn't stand against the might of the telvanni forces if they met in open battle, and if they failled to escape a raid or were found unprepared in the Grazelands and forced to defend themselves... Kaushad shuddered at the thought.

They needed spirit, they needed to be more in touch with the ancient energy all Ashlanders had. They could fight, but it seems like so many Ashlanders these days, torn by wore and competition, suppressed the spark that made them all warriors at heart.

He would have to consel with Sinnomu. She knew much of the Ashlander's warrior spirit. She was still in Neran, and he wouldn't be able to see her for quite some time.

Kaushad grumbled as he wandered about the dreary halls of Zergonipal. The draft stopped, but it still felt old and enclosed. He walked alone now, torch in hand, exploring the halls.

She noticed Kaushad walking around with a dreary face...."Poor old man" she thought...then she came to think of her mission to Vivec....with Athyn Sarethi....he should speak with Raavin about support to the ashlanders from House Redoran....maybe..maybe if she could establish some telepathic contact with him...to ask how that mission had turned out?

She sat down..concentrating very hard to summon the old councillorīs mind into her own....

"Athyn....do you read me?"

She sensed ...a wind...a cloud coming nearer....then ..very faint she heard a voice..deep down in her mind

"Athyn....is that you?, did you meet Raavin?"

She fell down......into a deep grey hole....downwards downwards.......from all around her she heard voices.....different voices....one of them said:
"200 warriors, grant them 200 warriors"

"Serene!!! Serene!! wake uop! Are you ok?" Sedrane shook her shoulder looking very worried..

Serene rose to her feet.....telling Sedrane that everything was ok....and then she remembered her "dream"....200 redoran warriors! She just had to tell Kaushad

"I greet you Kaushad" she said when she finally caught up with the old man,"I think I have some good news, we are getting support from Great House Redran in the battle against the Telvanni!"

She stood in front of the ashkan...eagerly awaiting his response.....

"Oh, hello Serene, welcome back to the epitome of Ashlander pride, the lovely halls of Zergonipal!" he said sarcastically, mock-marvelling at the modly walls around him. His face then registered the 200 warriors.

Darkness... it was everywhere. Where was he? The smell of a broken nose filled his brain and a few thoughts managed to reach there too, but they were unimportant to the bland pain he was feeling.

Light... then came rather suddenly, it was worse then the darkness, for it burned. Almost as if the judgment of heaven was upon him. Noise fluttered about, with random syllables trying to make since, as without consonants.

Slowly the light faded to more bearable levels, and the sound became more clear. For what he could tell he was lying in a courtyard of the sort, surrounded by three or four men. Tall were they, or at least they seemed that way. Almost cautiously his hands slipped from their cool grave that was his side.

By the touch he could tell that the floor, or the ground was also cold, almost hard even, with grooves of unsymmetrical lengths and patterns. It was made apparent that he was laying on a stone, or possibly many stones, and after a concentrated effort he slid his head partially right and noticed his predictions were true. But what he saw also horrified him.

To his right lay, what was immediately that to be a picture of himself from the outside, a corpse of a rather young soldier. After gawking at the body for nearly a minute he deduced that the soldier was of imperial origin, and that he wore the colours of the Legionnaires.

"Sir? Look! He's not dead! Get me a healer over here!"

One of the figures above him called out, the sound that escaped from the figures sent a reverberating rhythm through out his already resounding skull. Another figured then approached, but this one leaned over him, and slowly, almost in a gentle tone, spoke several incoherent words that sent a soothing aurora inside his aching body. Falx's body.

Images of bloody fighting filled the Legionnaires head, and then a slow realization that Falx had just participated in a battle filed in. That is before he fell unconscious again.

lowered his sword as the enemy retreated, he looked around at the bloody battle field. He knew this was not the end, and that It was only a matter of time before they returned probably for Vivec itself. Covered in the dirt of battle Megil began to walk slowly and deliberatly to vivec, the moans of the dieing filed the air, he approached a group of ordinators,

"I want this mess cleaned up as fast as possible, as wel as the statistics," he said coldly.

After a quarter of an hour of walking Megil walked into his manor, the servants took of the armor and began to clean it. Megil changed into new clothes and took the blade down to the armory. He cleaned the blade and then placed it back in the ornate case, which he returned to the display case

"You are by far to unpredictable fo a weapon to use, ad so here you shall remain until dire times call again," he said. Megil then picked up his old blade and returned upstairs. were he disabled the huge magicka drain on the city, to then collapsed on the bed from fatigue

"So.. how long was I out for?" Falx asked, staring blankly into the fire.

One of his newer aids chimed in, "For the greater part of an hour, sir."

"I just fell out then?" He asked, obvously puzzled, "Thats quite odd. And what of the battle? Did the legionnaires respond to Vivecs plea?"

"Well, Lt. Marcus told us we weren't to fight unless you, or Lord Megil gave the order, sir."

"Yes, thats what I told him" The words came out rather feebly, "I should like some time alone I think."

With that the servants and officer left the room, most were satisfyed that he'd recover well.

"Damn orcs.. they hamster cave bled over my armor."

Raxle sat on a bench, one of the few that weren't broke, and started to clean off his armor. He said in a meloncholly tone, "Hmm, death seems to follow me" Raxle looked over to the man that had just taken a seat beside him, "So, does this happen every hamster cave day, or does the prick in charge of this place just let it happen randomly?"

Raxle's eyes widened for a second, at first he didn't recognize what the dunmer was, but then it hit him.. After he saw the armour.

"So.. I suppose they pay you pretty well aye?" he said nervously, trying to divert the topic.

Raxle waited a few moments to the point where he thought that the ordinator was out of whispering range, "Go rot in hell, you stuck up honoured user..."

Calm down Raxle, no need to get arrested already

After cleaning his armour, Raxle strapped his Imperial Broadsword to his side and casually walk along the battle strewn town. The baddies were gone, however much death remained.

"Why do I even bother." He looked down at the flier that he had recieved several days back, the one that spoke if freedom in New Vivec, it read something of a new location for the legion HQ being somewhere in the New Vivec Inn. He glanced up and spotted it several buildings down, "The guy may be a prick (Megil) but at least he knows how to build a city."

Val-Jeer - Ebonheart

He wasn't sure what had just happened. He lost blacked out just as his attackers were reaching him. Now here he was, on his back, buried under a corpse. His whole body was pulsing with pain. He felt like a horde of ogrim had taken turns stomping on him.

He wanted to tell the dead orc to be a nice corpse and get off of him, but when he opened his mouth only a gurgle came out. His mouth filled with a sticky and metallic liquid. He had internal injuries... maybe a lot of them.

His blurry vision caught a light. It looked like a firefly. When the light dimmed, however, it didn't leave a bug. Only vacant air.

Is that a ghost light? Am I dying?

He wanted to chuckle, but again only more blood came up. This time, he went into a fit of coughs, spewing out more blood and further jolting his body with stabbing pain. When the fit finally passed, he felt as if he was too weak to even breathe. He began to close his eyes, he really wanted to sleep.

Funny, I don't hear any music. I'll just sleep on it and figure it out later.

All of the pain began to fade.

Kaushad smiled, "Thank you Serene," he said, ignoring the conversation about Sedrane. They didn't understand his reasoning because they were prejudiced against his beliefs. So what if they thought he was old and stubborn? He still lead Zainab, and no ashlander in Zainab disrespected him, and he'd be damned is he let any ashlander in Zainab become the snot-nosed brat that Sedrane allowed his people to turn into, disrespectful twerps. With that, Kaushad walked away, continuing his walk around his dreary fort.

Sul-Matuul smiled to Kaushad as they passed each other in the halls.

"How goes it friend?" asked Sul-Matuul.

"Fine, just fine," said Kaushad. "The younger generation does not have the same respect for me as I did for my elders though, it's a difficult barrier."

Sul-Matuul chuckled. "Respect for your elders? When did you have respect for your elders? As I recall you were quite the arrogant one."

"Yes, well I matured," Kaushad defended himself.

"Mmm, not more than twenty years ago," Sul-Matuul laughed. "You have to teach them what you know and let them take it in stride, they'll be thankful they learned it from you when the situation calls for it, whether or not they show you respect now."

"These young warriors don't seem to have the heart of the Ashlander though, modern times have suppressed it," Kaushad said.

"Oh, any ashlander born has the heart of an Ashlander, some just choose to use their heart in different ways."

Kaushad paused, and chuckled to himself. "I forget myself Sul-Matuul, thank you for your wisdom."

Sul-Matuul smiled again to his friend, and they departed. Not too long later, seeing as how he was travelling the opposite direction of Kaushad, Sul-Matuul happened upon Serene.

"Oh, my dear friend Serene! When did you get back?" he asked.

Sul-Matuul understood Kaushad was facing a lot criticism lately, trying to lead people that were not his own since most of Zainab were in the Grazelands fighting. It made Sul-Matuul question what he heard others speak of Kaushad. "And do not think Kaushad would ever pick on Sedrane. I've seen him handle Sedrane before. Akar, New Vivec

Akar awoke from the sound of an incessant clashing noise. He groggily stood up and stretched, his tired brain not realizing that the sound he was hearing was that of battle. When he finally did realize it, he hurriedly got dresssed and strapped on his sword. He no sooner had the strap buckled than a goblin burst through his door. He drew his sword and freed the goblin of its head.

He quickly grabbed his skooma pipe and stuffed it into a pocket before running off into the city; it was time to leave.

Sel, New Vivec

Sel successfully stayed out of the fight, creeping along the walls of the city and making himself scarce.

He had no way of knowing who was behind the attack, much less how to find the guilty one.

With a sigh, he made his way to the plaza; maybe it hadn't been overrun yet.

He stooped down to pick up a note, it spoke of the Legion HQ. Sel stuffed it in his pocket and headed towards the Inn. He certainly held no love for the Empire, but no need in telling those inside that. Being there would most certainly give him some information as well as some much needed flin. Falx sat at a table with roughly 12 Knights, all of various age and status. Some, more then others, wanted to get back to the empire as soon as possible, most wanted a life of freedom, they usually made of the older crowd.

"Ok" Falx began, "How many do we have left after the battle?"

Abulard, his newly apointed Knight, and second in command spoke up, "Well sir.." He paused for a moment, "Over 300 soldiers are un-accounted for, whether they were killed or fled is unknown. However, we have threes times that number in veteran legionnaires, and then about twice that in new recruits."

"What of equipment?" One rather large officer blurted out, nearly spilling over his ale.

Abulard shuffled through several papers and then answered, "Despite what the veterans even with what the veterans came with were still short on swords, axes, sheilds, chainmail, everything. We need more equipment sir" Abulard looked to Falx, whose gaze was scanning the various people in the bar area, "Yes, we do" He said almost absently, "Perhaps I can speak to Megil, possibly have someone put on his council to represent our cause. After all, we are supposed to be an arm of New Vivec presently."

There was a slight grumble amogst the younger officers but Falx dismissed it, "Well, let us adjorn meeting now, I am getting rather tired. Return to your various posts and continue the recruits training, I am going to work on finding a able canidate to propose to Megil. Dismissed"

The officers got up, and went their seperate ways. Falx however, went back behind the bar counter and and began talking with the locals as he'd normally had done.

Lykaon
"Well then, no point in hanging around here, lets head back to MT HQ," Lykaon said, wiping his blade clean on his cloak before sheathing it. He began walking back to the Morag Tong HQ.
Intestinal Chaos
Malik
Wilderness near Seyda-Neen

Malik woke up inside the small cave he'd been inhabiting. The one bandit that had sated both is bloodlust and hunger was beginning to decay, attracting a number of small insects and flies.

Malik gave a wide gurgling yawn and stood up. It had been a full night since he had killed and he was growing greedy with death since he had given so much the night before.

It was too bright to begin stalking and he really didn't like the light anyways. He stepped out of the entrance of the small cave and onto the alcove regardless of his sunlight hate and was nearly blinded by it. Cursing his predicament he shielded his eyes and strode out into the full morning light and walked by the side of the roads to wherever they would take him.

Dane
New Vivec Inn

The battle was over and the patrons were now allowed to move about as they wished. Dane however did not leave and he took a seat on a table next to a group of soldiers who had exprienced the fight.

He took a swig of his Flin and listened to them idly.

"Yeah s'wat I said, spilled his guts he did"

"Didn't look human or goblinoid"

"I have never seen such a thing that chilled my bones as much as that lunatic"

Dane had grown far to curious about this "lunatic" and was compelled to ask.
"What in Oblivion are you talking about?" Dane asked the frightened soldiers.

"You haven't heard of it? Some Madman was cutting humans and goblins left and right." replied a squat bald soldier.

"His skin was as pale as a corpse and he was festooned with cuts and scars, and he laughed as he killed." added in another

Dane smiled "I don't know what you were drinking before the fight but it probably wasn't fresh" he laughed.

"No 's true!" the squat solider said with a convincing look of fright on his face "It's the talk of the town! I wouldn't be suprised if lord Megil got in on this!" chimed in a third soldier.

"I'm sure this "Lord" Megil has better things to do with his time than track down simple serial killers" Dane replied dubiously

"Belive what you wish, stranger, but this madman was too strong to not hear from again" whispered the first soldier as if the lunatic could hear him.

And of course Dane was wrong for word of the lunatic was spreading and it wouldn't be long before a bounty would be placed upon his head.

Stauros and Delfran->Balmora gate

Stauros and Delfan finnally reached the Balmora city gate, granted their cloths didn't reflect Stauros being a Councler and Delfran being his escort. when they got into the customs room they encountered a bit of a problem.

Customs Head Guard, "Oh hoh hoh! what Do we have here?" walking around the table with all of Stauros' and Delfran's stuff on it "A few worthless scumbags trying to pass of as counselor? With weapons and plenty of gold to? More like a troop of poor smugglers who had a lucky streak and got cocky to me. That is a big fine and a lifetime jail sentence offence"

Stauros shouted angerly, "Smugglers!?! We are not Smugglers, I am counselor Stauros and this is my escort Delfran who could hold his own against all of you, at the same time. I demand that you stand down and let us pass now!"

The guard stood there for a second, obviously thinking about something, but then he finnaly spoke, "well boys, these two don't want to go peacefully, Think we should sillence them" all the guards chuckled nad tooka step closer.
Stauros leaned over to Delfran, "OKay don't kill them just make it so they can't do anything, okay?" Stauros and Delfran both grabbed a weapon and got into a fighting stance ready for the guards to try somthing.

Dalrus, Balmora

Dalrus, walking down the street in nothing but her bra and underwear, jumped behind building to building, for her cloths had been ripped in the "festivities" of the night before. She quickly pulled a towl she found in a barrel over her top, and headed towards her manor which all councilors had in the capital.

She heard a commotion going on at the customs office, and though she knew it'd be embarrassing, whatever was going on was more important then being talked about by the town.

She stepped inside, and almost involuntarily said

"Greetings serjo stauros, im glad to see you're here to assist me in the draft"...

Sul-Matuul
Zergonipal

Sul-Matuul drew a long, wise smile and paused, staring at Serene for thirty-seconds.  In his head, he ran through what she said several times, attempting to deeply comprehend every word, as though treating her words with utmost understanding and respect, like his teacher.

"Serene," he said quietly, making her attempt to listen, a tool he used to only speak to the willing.  "If you truly wish to meddle in the affair you will have greatly disappointed me.  I feel as though, Serene, your abilities allow you to see into people's minds, but not their hearts."

Serene listened to Sul-Matuul......looking steadily at him.....but not understanding what he really was trying to say.....she thought that there maybe was something deeper behind the stubborn opposion to the thing about telling Sedrane who his father was..but at the moment she just could not get it. Nevertheless she understood that both of them, Kaushad and Sul-Matuul would stick together....and theyīd be very angry if she told him about it.....so she wouldnīt.....for the time being that is..

Also she was hurt by Sul-Matuul saying that she could not read peoples hearts....because that was exactly what she could...if they open their hearts that is...and neither of those two did! Sedrane on the other hand.....

"Oh well" she sighed, " You know exactly how to put your words so they give the most effect huh?..But donīt worry, Iīm not gonna tell anything to anyone anymore..may that be! Iīll go back to Aldīruhn, with my family and forget all about this ...and let you do your own fighting, because it makes my heart bleed the way you treat Sedrane."

Stauros and Delfran->customs

Once Dalrus walked through the door with a towel on eneryone stopped.

wow

Stauros dropped his jaw for a moment or two but quickly staitened up, "Ahem, uh yes I am here for that but these baffons thought we were smugglers try to pass as counselors. they need to get pictures along with the book of counselors." Stauros tried an embarased smile and continued, "well Come on Delfran, I want to see how bad the servants treated there vacation. Oh and Dalrus, you want to stop off at a clothier? I'll buy." They walked out the door with Dalrus, leaving the gapping guards alone

She rolled her eyes at the gasps of the guards and replied "Yes as a matter of fact, why dont we attend to that after the draft, we can hire the best artists to paint us portraits. And yes i suppose i'm sick of all the attention, though after what happened last night, its nothing really." she looked embarrassed "But now we can get down to business" she said as she followed him outside.

Stauros and Delfran-> Balmora

Staros turned to Delfran and said, "Hey why don't you get to the mansion and tell the servants to get ready and that i'll be there momentarily."

Delfran nodded and went off into the shadows and seemed to dissapear.

Stauros turned to Dalrus, "let us continue, the Clother is just up ahead."

A little while later they reached the clother, after seeing many people drunk and naked Stauros asked, "what happened here, a city wide party!?" As he held open the door.

"Yes, unfortunatly one i started, i was just looking for some fun, and well ever since that thief i looked for left, i've felt empty, so it kinda turned into more then a party, kinda a big rave, so thats why they aren't covered, though soon enough they'll be extremely embarrassed. Ok i just need..." she looked over at a very short skirt, and low topped dress "i need those, wow i can't believe i haven't gotten those before.

after buying the nice outfit she sought, dalrs, walked along the wide organized streetways of balmora's manor section. She climbed to the top of a guard tower and looked over, the city. Hundreds of guar trains came into the city, and hundreds left, along with countless travelers. It was a peaceful city, and was growing daily.

"This city will not fall as long as i can wield magicka, or nagotiate." she vowed. Another thought crept into her head, caldera. It was right on the redoran border, and would be a site to many battles. She dearly hoped it wouldnt fall, ever since she had moved from cyrodill at age five, caldera had been her home, and now she governed it. Balmora and caldera were her two favorite places, and she suddenly felt true nationalism for Hlaalu.

Stauros->Morag tong Balmora

Stauros stopped when he reached the guildhall

its too quiet, even the guild makes a little noises

Stauros walked though the door and saw the blood and the dead corpses rotting. Stauros was filled with rage and borke a chair up against the wall and knelt down to the floor. "I will find out who did this and I will punish them, I will make it known they don't attack the Morag Tong and get away with it"

He stood up and walked through the guild pocketing all that was usefull and then lit a fire to burn the place down. Stauros walked though the town untill he saw Dalrus and waved, "so what now?"

Stauros->Balmora pillar place....

Well, I thought I meantioned this In vivec, but anyways, Isaarin feels that Hlaalu needs an acctually army to keep the other two houses in check. He doesn't think the guard will be able to do it themselves." Stauros smiled

"So from the current state of the fort I don't think it will be to hard, more of a heavy duty repare job, and then do a bit of interior work to get the fort back into working order. Then we will need to hurry and train afew people and ship them off to the border cityies, like Caldera, Suran, and the like. Pardon me for asking but you are Caldera's representative, correct?"

Sul-Matuul listened patiently to Serene and again waited for her to finish. He smiled, he wanted her to understand so much, but wisdom of age and repesct taught him that it was not the way it worked. All he could do, was stand there and practice by example, and that meant pausing, listening, comprehending.

"In your civilization," he said. "People talk. They talk more than they listen. Can you count how many life-forms live on Nirn? Each has a voice. That's a lot of talking if every form of life adhered to your civilizations way of talking, a lot of useless noise. There are nearly five hundred ashlanders I talk to. That alone means I should be listening five hundred times more often than talking. That alone does not cover it, i listen to the guar, to the crops I grow, to the wind and the water. When elders talk to each other, we wait after each one speaks. We wait sometimes for hours, and when it is time to speak again, we feel it.

"I grant you the respect of an elder because in your time spent with us you earned the respect, both you and Jonacin. Please though, next time we talk, do not forsake my advice."

Serene
Zergonipal

Serene listened carefully....this old man was the wisest of them all, she knew that very well, after all she used to live amongst these people for years, and Sinnamu taught her to listen ..a thing that she nowadays sometimes seems to have forgot.

"Itīs called communication" Serene said slowly, "and we think very high of the importance of communication. The world we live in is in constant change, we must change with it, we canīt always dwell in the past. We also must talk to each others n order to understand..otherwise we will perish...."

"I have the deepest respect for you Sul-Matuul, but you have to admit that I have done quite a lot of good for the ahslander tribes here. I have used my skills to keep you alive..and Iīve done it out of my heart, out of love to the people..The Ahemmusa adopted me when I was an outcast, I love them more than you will ever understand....Sedrane is like a brother to me, Sinnamu like a mother...and you?..well you are the teacher.....so I hope not that you are deliberately hurting me, I always thought you cared for me, but that could have changed, I donīt know"

Serene bowed her head..not knowing what to do...naturally she wanted to stay here with her people..to help them in this hard time and give them all support she could. But the feeling that both the greater ashkans probably were against her tormented her more than she would have imagined

Dalrus looked over the town, and signaled to the guards, to get everyone into the town square where she could give a speech.

"Now stauros, i need you to go organise a huge team of construction workers to go to moonmoth. also we need a new name for moonmoth, which we both can decide. oh and what are you govenor of, because every councilor is governor of some land?"

I am govoner of Suran, granted I stay here most of the time. Hmm, why can't we keep the name the same? It worked well enough."
