Amroth, New Vivec Gates

Amroth waited several nervous minutes before he realized no one was guarding the gate. He could climb it.

Finding a grip, he brought himself up and slowly started his climb over it.

He soon found himself at the top of the gate, and he was frightened. What would be the punishment if he was caught?

Climbing to the ground he looked around for someplace to hide.

He quickly dodged behind a barrel.

(OOC: Now it's up too Megil- is he caught and thrown out?)

Amili, New Vivec

Amili thought for a second before speaking again. She turned to the bosmer. (what revolting creatures!)

"Follow me from a distance and I will lead you to Melkaan."

Melkaan would be more convinced to have her along if she was the one to kill the assassin...

Front Gate, New Vivec

A cloaked woman tapped on Amroth's shoulder.

"Do you know that unlaful entry to New Vivec is punishable by a 12,000 saphire fine or 3 days of torture? I hope you can pay the fine, or you will soon be suffering under my blade."

she grabbed Amroth firmly and brought him to his feet, her daggerlike nails digging into his flesh.

Amroth, New Vivec

(OOC: Caught and tortured!)

Amroth froze and found himself unable to speak out of fright for several seconds. Finally, he got control of himself.

Bringing his hands together he pleaded. On top of being frightened, he could feel a few drops of blood trickling down his arm.

"Please, I-I don't have any money? Three days of torture?" He gulped, cringed, and shook in fear.
Megil Tel-Zeke
Mysterious Woman, New Vivec
She loosened her grip slightly.

"Just messing, but you will have to pay a minor fine, now if you don't mind we will need to document you before you can lawfully enter the city."

She healed the man's wounds and led him to the registrar. one of the ordinators looked at her.

"Bring in another one? None escape your sight, by the looks of him seems like you got your enjoyment out of him."

a sinister smile cracked beneath the hood,

"I would have had my way with him, but after the way Megil tortured me for my last infraction I am more cautious. Though i must say the taste of my own blood and the pain were thrilling. Boy that man sure know how to please some women. Well I'm off to round up some more trespassers."

The ordinators let out a chuckle then turned their attention to the new arrival,

"She got you pretty good then, she's a crazy one." one ordinator said before leaving to do some rounds.

the one behind the counter pulled out som parchment,

"So what brings you to Vivec?"

Amroth, New Vivec

Amroth's expression was one of puzzlement, and a slow understanding that the whole encounter had been a gag. The woman had told him he'd have to pay a small fee, but he was serious when he said he didn't have any money. He was absolutely broke.

He took a few seconds before answering the man.

"Opportunity, I suppose sir." He paused for a second and thought.

"Who's Megil?"
Megil Tel-Zeke
Front Gate, New Vivec

"ah, well you started off on the wrong foot. Seeing the way you chose to enter the city I assume you have no money. There are several way we can deal with this, and the choice is yours."

he ignored the question regarding megil.

sasal marched with a group of imperial knights from a boat, all while covered by cloaks.

sasal's men came to halt as they saw sasal stop in his tracks. he soon held his hand in a fist, thus haveing all the knights place their shields down in a defensive possitions, and having archers hide behind the shields with the knights.

soon sasal aproached the gate and knocked, waiting for any answer

One of the mages that stood watch at one of the gate towers peered down at the group below.

"What is it you wish strangers? approahcing this city with weapons in display."

while awaiting their response she activated the seal on the door, reinforcing it with an enchanment. ordinators in the towers nawaited in case this group chsoe to be stupid, The cloaked woman stood in teh shadows watching the entrance plaza.

Ordinators-plaza, New Vivec

The ordinators turned the corner onto the plaza to see the air filled with debris. they drew their weapons and approached the debris. They could see a silhouete of a man walking in the dust.

"Who goes there?" an ordinator yelled. the group spread out to surroung the man.

Wred flung his sword around to meet the first of the foes to meet him, and heaved his sword forward to ram the guy away. He then turned around and intercepted a second ordinator, pushing him forward sword first to shove him to the side. He stepped aside allowing the next two ordinators to clash at his previous position, and flipped his sword around to strike the back of a vulnerable foe.

He used to terrain to his advantage, stepping strategically so he could use strange chunks of ground elevated above others as leverage tp give him more power, using it to catch his foes off balance and strike them down, swinging nimbly about, aware of every sneaky little strike that came his way.

Akar, Zergonipal

Akar sat down, overwhelmed by the thoughts surrounding him, assaluting his mind. He tried to focus, but found it very difficult to concentrate on any one thing, there were so many voices...

He finally stood, still disoriented and unable to focus on what was going on around him. He remembered something about finding En'fel...

He decided that he might as well practice keeping the voices out, so he stared at his boot in an effort to concentrate. He finally got to the point where he could ignore the voices.

He didn't know how long he had been doing it, but it couldn't have been too long because everyone was still there.

He walked towards Serene. "Mom? Where was I going again?" he asked, not quite sure of how he was to find En'fel.

Anara, New Vivec

Anara's admantium spear caught Megil's sword in the mid-swing. "Now now...we can handle this peacefully can't we Megil?" she asked. "No need for excess violence against friends."

Some Redoran Dude, Ald-Ruhn

The Redoran looked over at Serene. "Serjo Raavin is in New Vivec, he should be returning soon, but as I understand he's attending to some business in the Redoran section of New Vivec, so If it is urgent going to New vivec may be more wise."

Serene, Under Skar Aldīruhn

Serene thanked the young Redoran retainer that told her where to find Ravvin, so many people were gathered here at Sarethi Manor, it was hard to even get oneīs voice heard. everyone was upset over the last events in the Grazelands, and most of the Redorans wanted some kind of peace.....well that is not to any price...and House Hlaalu was not liked the least, they were the worst enemies.

Serene decioded to go to New Vivec immediately. She knew the city was ruled by Megil TelīZeke, whom she knew from the Arcyakt-ordeal, and also liked quite a bit. She hoped he would see her and also that Ravvin would..that is if she could find him!

Saryn would probably be there as well......

"Amili......Amili..." there it was again!, What part does that lady play in our lives?"

When Serene declared that she was going to New Vivec Athyn Sarethi immediately said heīd accompany her, leaving the rulership of Sarethi Manor to Brara Morvayn and Hlaren Ramoran...

Serene was touched by the offer from Athyn to come with her, he was not that young anymore, besides he suffered from a wound in his back due to the event during the Battle of Aldīruhn that nearly cost him his life......

Serene took his hand and asked him if he was comfortable with the option of teleporting to Vivec.

"If you say so, Serene my child," Athyn smiled......

Serene placed Athynīs arm around her shoulders, put her arm steadily around his waist and activated the teleportation-amulet.....

Wred Halius
New Vivec Plaza

Every attack strategy has a hole in it, Wred knew this to his bones. With each surrounding swipe they attempted he simply pushed his sword forward to block one incoming blade and ram himself out of the trap in the opening he made himself. It was difficult, especially with the on coming sweeping blades. Every time he managed to escape their trap, they simply rotated around and gave an even tighter push.

He could read an attack well, and not only defend against it, but plan many moves ahead to catch his foe off balance and strike him down. Dozens of attacks, those were harder to navigate. He could barely read where every blade was coming from let alone prepare to defend against. Read them he did, however, and he read at a perfectly right moment to stand perfectly still, and the blades swept by him. The hole in their strategy was found, not in brute strength or sharpness which had only kept him alive the last few goes, but following their trap to it's source. They were a peace-keeping force, trained to fight in a peace-keeping manner, meant their goal was to disarm him.

They probably did not count on his enchanted blade, however.

When they pinned him down, all his momentum left him, and he barely push his blade forward enough to lightly tap one of the guard's legs, but he did, and his sword drained the energy out effectively, loosening their hold over him quite a bit. Though he could not kill them, he managed to force men to rub up against his blade quite a number of times, draining their energy, causing him, in his mock-struggle to loosen himself from being pinned, to break free.

No time for any further dancing. He decided to plunge. The hole, it was there, as the torn up road drilled crevices into the streets. He plunged for the sewer tunnel, or whatever is was, sword in hand.

"Inspection from cyrodiil? what are you mad, stupid, or both? The empire has left these lands. Cyrodiil, the legion, the deceased emperor, none have any power over this land. Now state your real reason or head back from whence you came. Oh and don't event ry casting a spell at these walls or gate, just some warning."

At the top of the towers two strange objects where pivoted and aimed at the group outside the city. Archers on both towers got arrows nocked in place, and ordinators began to file up on the otherside of the gate. the cloaked woman left the shadows and stood in front of the ordinators a very wicked blade in her hands. Of course the enchantments on the gates and walls would dissipate any magical attack sent to it.

OOC: umm yah dagoth carlos yo really should understand the plot before you jump in. the empire isn't in vvardenfell so there would be no inspectors fro cyrodiil, since the empire has left the territory.

Megil-Hlaalu, New Vivec

Megil looked at Anara, and then back at anthanes and at all whos tood with him. he recomposed himself in doing so the rain outside stopped. he sheathed the sword.

"My apologies. far too much stress these days." as he said this his mind was baraged by several messages one from the gates and one from the undercity.

"Damn it why can't you people just leave this city in peace like you have for the past 5 years." he left the hall and began muttering to himself. In the process activating several aspects of the defenses. The first was a general defense one that would have a city wide effect. Magicka was drained from all mages in and jsut outside the city walls, they were drawn into the hidden gemstones deep in the heart of Vivec.
The only ones unaffected where the elite mages in the ordinators who had hidden on their flesh a special isignia of vivec, and Megil who also carried the mark ut his slightly different allowed for his use of the stored magicka. The second defense was that large gears in the undercity began to move, the passages of the undercity began to rearrange themselves, some passages dissapearing and other being formed. the laberynth had been remade.

Megil walked patiently with the air of power to the front gate, where he waited patiently for Sasal to make his move, hoping the man would leave and not instigate anything.

Akar, Ashlands

Akar was trekking through the ashlands, with his skooma pipe in his mouth. He was glad to be away from people; he didn't enjoy being assaulted by anyone and everyone's thoughts within his general area.

He still didn't understand why someone didn't just teleport him to New Vivec, but he didn't mind the walk. He hadn't had a vision yet, but Serene had told him that he would. Hopefully that wouldn't be as bad as the mind-reading powers; if it was, he might have trouble sleeping...

He took his pipe out of his mouth and put in in his pack as he walked through Al'ruhn's gates. He was going to ty to find his mother's house, but he didn't know where to start. Giving up, he paid for silt-strider passage with a skooma vial, and ended up just outside of New Vivec. Seeing that there was some kind of commotion going on outside the gate, he decided to take a different approach. (too bad he knew nothing of the city's defenses..) He activated his amulet, making him blend in with his surroundings, and jumped into the water, hoping to get in through a sewer access gate.

New Vivec Plaza

From the rubble a light moan erupted, it grew louder before it stopped. Falx had layed there for some time unconcious after the fight. He stirred a bit, and then pushed himself to sit up.

His body ached from head to toe, with much pain coming from his right shoulder blade. Falx twisted to inspect it only to find a rather large chunk of flesh torn apart, some even missing.

"By the gods.." He groaned as he pushed himself up against a large part of the pavement that had been pulled up from the ground, "I.. shouldn't.." His jaw clenched as a rock fell loose and collided with his shoulder.

The fog, dust, and rain obscured his vision, so instead of finding someone he just simply called for anyone, "Please, anyone! Help me!"

Vivec Undercity

It was no sewer. He heard rumors that there was some sort of undercity in New Vivec, but he didn't believe it. It was a place where Megil TelZeke's people lived, where creatures even more terrible lived. If above-ground New Vivec was a symbol of Megil's clean, moral, self-righteous personality, the undercity was the side of himself he kept secret.

Wred got up and brushed himself off from dust. There was a dank canal flowing next to him, but he seemed to fall into a dry boat-stop of the Canal, with a canoe to the side and a stair-case on the otherside leading away. That had to be the way to go. He bit his lip, sheathed his sword and walked into the darkness. If worse came to worse, he could find this spot again by following the light, and maybe try to canal-route.

"ARGH!" , Anthanes said as he felt the magicka drained from him.

An archmage without magicka is never a good thing, especially in the case of an already slightly insane archmage. Anthanes began frothing at the mouth, unsheated his sword, and ran after Megil. A short distance away, he jumped the Dunmer and slashed his paralyzing sword down on his neck.

Arneth cried out as he came up to Anthanes and grabbed him by the shoulder, "Dont make it any worse please!" Arneth said as he pulled Anthanes away and could see the paralyzing spell starting to take its effects.

Isaarin's guards moved in front of him and he stared bravely forward. Isaarin Sithiln
New Vivec, Hlaalu Council Chambers

Isaarin cursed silently. It would have been so perfect. Anthanes was a godsend to rise doubt in Megil's loyalty. Isaarin thought it all out, he was going allow the battlemage's agressiveness get the best of him and attempt to subdue the innocent Isaarin. Isaarin was positive he could pin their loyalties to a house and lay suspicion upon that house, but more than that if they failed to punish Anthanes to the full extent of the law then it would have been all too obvious that Megil obviously favored protecting the Legion while leaving the Houses to destroy each other.

It should be noted Isaarin's popularity lowered by a few degrees when he hinted at his plans to the rest of his council, as well as when he was humiliated by Wred Halius at the House Meeting in New Vivec. This would surely let it rise again, and draw him support from the far reaches of the territory.

"Remove them? I do have to return to my home eventually, and what am I to do when I find them there, attempting to kill me? If it's not in your city, it's not your problem, except you fail to realize that sanctity between the three houses is what keeps balance in Vvardenfel, and without that Balance one House will become powerful enough to overcome New Vivec. It's always political with you, always for what you can get in the most recent time. You never look to the future."

En'Fel
New Vivec Plaza

There would be a boat leaving for Sadrith Mora in a week. In a week's time he'd be on his way to Sadrith Mora. Furthermore he he a contact from within he could use to help smuggle himself inside Melkaan Uvirith's hall. If she succeeded that is. If she failed, he would have to wait for Melkaan to leave himself vulnerable.

Meanwhile he had a different problem.

"Yes, I need to find out what the magical properties of this amulate are," En'Fel said to the Enchanter in the plaza. En'Fel placed the amulet on the Enchanter's desk, who placed his pair of spectacles on his head and studied the amulet.

"Very interesting, this is... Yes, it seems to be very potent. More than I've seen for quite some time. Yes... let me see here. It enhances your... agility... your strength, your confidence, your intelligence and charisma. Yes, you could make an able fighter out of a five-year old with this. There seems to be something else. Let me see here... oh dear. Afraid it comes with a bit of a catch. Yes I hope you don't plan to be around fire very often, this amulet turns you as flammable as a piece of parchment soaked in oil."

En'Fel considered this. "Can you remove it?"

"Well, it seems to be done in a peculiar way. To remove one, I would have to remove them all."

"Very well, thank you," En'Fel handed him a few Telvannics from his bag and left.

Wred
Undercity

Wred entered the passage-way up the stairs and found himself at the pit-stop of another Canal. Strange it seems the street system for the entire area were really a bunch of Canals, and mostly unoccupied. This area was quite damp, as though something wet was recently dragged up from the bottom of the water. He again saw a boat tied the edge, and saw no other way to go. The light was pitiful. He carefully moved inside the boat, untied it and took the oar to navigate himself through the Undercity.
Megil Tel-Zeke
Megil-Front gate, New Vivec

Megil looked coldly at Isaarin,

"Well I am no prophet, if I knew what would happen i could then avoid it, but sense I can't I do that which is best at the time."

this was of course a partial lie, since megil did occasionally see visions. but rarely could he interpret them.

Ragistrar-front gate
"Hmm well you'd ahve to be an excellent fighter, able mage, or combination of the two. you will have to go through a rigorous set of trials to prove your eligibility, and once you pass that you would have to take an oath binding you to our leader and to the protection of the city."

Undercity

little did Wred know he was surrounded from all sides, being watched intensely, they stalked their prey ever so carefully, they had lured him into their trap and it was now to begin toying with him. Several sylphs began to giggle, letting it echo down the passages in so doing Wred would be unable to detect the origin, jsut that something was around the corner something feminine and gay(happy;) ) still others began to set of little light spells, setting the water a glow in a myriad of colors.

"Just you wait," Sul Matuul joked. "In a month's time it will be a fortress. It already is a fortress, but it was be a fortress more accomidating to dunmer."

As they entered, the familiar smells of fungus and other life-forms that lived in cold damp places surrounded his nose, and he cringed. There was a draft, too.

"Sul Matuul, Jonacin, were you followed?" one of the warriors asked.

"No, no we're fine," said Sul Matuul. "Um... Jonacin introduce your friends and we'll meet Kaushad."

Wred
Undercity

Wred'd pulse spiked as he heard high-pitched, ominous giggles. Something very sinister lurked below. He knew it, he knew it! Megil was a mad-man, and some how managed to hide his madness away in his own personal lair. What was this place supposed to be? Some sort of fun-house for his spectres?

The water began changing colors, and Wred began paddling the canoe faster. He had to make it to the next stop, he had to get out of this water. Trying to free himself from burden he threw off his armor, his cloak and his mask, and discarded them in the canal. He didn't hear the sound of the armor hitting the bottom, meaning it was deep, very deep. Wred shuddered.

"Stendarr, I don't ask you for much, but you know you're my favorite, you've been so good to me over the years. Please Stendarr, please let me make it through this," Wred whispered.

He stared at the bottom of the canoe as something caught his eye. He didn't think much of it, it was just the vial Isaarin gave him to pour over his face if he was caught. It was probably some sort of acidic potion Isaarin had some concoctor deep in the Mountains cook up.

Falx Albarnias
New Vivec Infirmary

Lights pulsated, normal colours, then loud vibrate ones that made Falx desperatly sick. He was already slightly bleeding from his mouth, and involuntaryly ejected more blood from his body through his mouth, it spilling all over him.

Everything went grey for several hours, or what seemed like hours, then white, clear and pure.

Is this the afterlife?

Falx stood up, or he thought he had, his body still lay in the bed.

Stendarr? Mara(SP)? Akatosh!? Damn, I know I couldn't have died.

He walked deeper in towards the nothing of the abyss, the infinite white that covered his thoughts.

Damn this, damn it all! Why'd I have to use that power!?

A shadowing voice responded to him, "You hadn't a choice..."

What?! Whos there!? Get out of my mind!

"You don't remeber me do you Falx? You make me sad, and I also find you revolting."

Revolting?! Who.. What are you!?

The oblivion seemed to grow cold, to cold for paradise, to cold for the parameters of ones mind.

You.. No.. I..I killed y-you!

"Hah! Killed! I am apart of you Falx, I am your essance, your creation!"

But.. I-t... Go Away!

"You summoned me, I only respected your wishes"

No I didn't! I...

"Yes, you used.." The voice change to a mocking tone, "..the "evil power" so what, your decision, your consequence."

Well I command you to leave then!

"Fine then, but you need me.. Remeber that when.. " The voice said with a slight snicker" ..Kiln returns. You are feeble Falx, you need me.

Falx awoke, eyes heavily glazed staring absent mindly at the various healers around him.

Amroth, Registrar's Office

Amroth sighed, the only reasonable option was the debt.

"I'll have to just settle for the debt option." He said drearily.

Cedris, Ald'Ruhn

Now that he no longer pledged loyalty to any faction, he was unsure of what too do. He remembered clearly the torture he had received in Vivec (he held grudge even though he had deserved it), and though he could do nothing about Megil at the moment he could do something to Megil's friends-

"Никогда не умирая пламена!"

The manor caught on fire, and he stepped back to watch it burn. Vengence was sweet. He hoped that someone lay inside, and that someone should burn.

(OOC: In case you didn't guess, he just set Serene's manor on fire. If Minkey doesn't like it I can always edit the post. MWAHAHAHA!)

OOC: gamer....you did WHAT?????, omg beware of the greadful vengeance of Serene when she finds out......

Serene at the gates of Vivec

Serene helped Athyn to his feet and approached the ordinators at the gate..

"Excuse me ser, but can you tell me where I can find Master Megil?" She talked in a polite fashion, wasnīt really sure but it can never hurt being well mannered and nice to people in uniforms

"There you are," Kaushad said as he entered. "I apologize but you missed Serene and Akar, they're on a mission to New Vivec."

Akar, New Vivec

Akar hadn't been walking long before he realized that he couldn't feel his healing powers; usually, he could feel them flowing in his veins, almost aching to be released, now it was gone. It madee Akar feel almost drained and a little fatigued, the same sort of tired he felt when he used too many spells without enough rest...

He was a little unnerved by this, but he didn't let it bother him for too long. When he had walked all through the Redoran section in search of En'fel, he soon realized that this would take much longer than he had originally guessed, so he decided to get a room. He didn't have any money, so he stopped in a bar to sell some of his skooma.

He looked down at his newly-acquired money: fifty rhuns. Not very much, especially for the quality of the skooma he just sold, but he shrugged it off because it was more than enough for a room and a semi-decent meal.

He got a room and asked the innkeeper if he had seen an ashalnder or a woman named Serene around.

The innkeeper laughed. "The Serene? I would be very surprised if she would even speak to the likes of us."

Akar laughed along; it would do no good to say that she was his mother, and it wasn't worth it to argue. With a wave, he disscontinued the conversation and made his way to his room where he took a quick nap.

Sel, Gnisis, and then New Vivec

Sel had gotten his bearings soon enough, and instead of heading south, as he had planned, he went north and visited Gnisis for a short time. He only stayed long enough to get a small meal before taking the silt strider to New Vivec; Serene had said that Megil wasa there, and it would be nice to go for a visit.

He arrived there about half a day later, and made his way to the gate where Serene and Athyn stood, speaking to the guards.

"Hello there." he greeted, walking up behind the pair.

OOC: just so you know, minque, Sel knows Athyn, I just haven't gotten around to writing about it yet in the fanfic.

Raxle O'Conner
Ruins of Pelegiad

"hamster, hamster, hamster" Raxle whispered to himself as the group of hagard looking guards passed by, "There here too..."

On his way south, to New Vivec, he decided that he'd stop by Pelegiad. What he saw horrified him. In the events of the past, the undead army's of Arkyact under the mysterious hooded general conquered this area. What he left in its wake was decay, death and destruction still wrought this land to this very day. Raxle would of spit on the ground if the guards wouldn't hear him do it.

After a short while they moved there patrol further away, and Raxle deemed that he was in safe distance from him. He had heard the stories of the guards that would randomly assault imperials in Vvardenfell. So much hate. Raxle got up from his hiding place and began walking south again, if he walked briskly he might make Vivec before fall of the next day.
