Okay, so I sent both a friend request and guild invitation to @ghastley. Unna Bear-Rider just happened to be in game and promptly accepted both! I then promoted ghastley on the spot to full guild privileges so I think we're good. Welcome, Unna! smile.gif

WOO HOO!!! Now let him know how to get to the Guild Hall; how to access the Guild Bank (and take out 2000 for his Tabard) = and how to access the Guild Store to buy his Tabard!

WOO HOO !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Unna has been to the bank, mainly to deposit the excess lock-picks biggrin.gif and taken a look at the stock of Motifs. While she was there she bought her Tabard.

She's still looking for the right outfit. The Ayleids Coat of Memories is vying with her own-made Orc Steel at the moment.

Can’t go wrong with either, Khajiit would say.

January’s ESO Live Show will air this Thursday Jan. 4th at 6pm EST/5 CST.
This will include a preview of the upcoming DLC Dragon Bones, as well as the update that comes with it. Should be informative.

I guess we won't know anything about that Summerset Isles DLC yet. Ah well, at least we got transmog and storage info to look forward to.

Khajiit thinks that you could probably get a full Chapter out of the Summerset Isles location. That would be this one’s bet for where the chapter they announced was coming out this year will be set.
monkeyemoness
I mean it's not called "Summerset" for nothing. :v

Anyways, I wasn't too excited over Dragon Boners because we JUST had a game set in Skyrim (FOUR TIMES) and I really want ESO to explore other areas we probably won't ever see as a single-player game, but having seen the piece of art that has dragons that look suspiciously like Peryite I'm suddenly very, very interested in this DLC. Not enough to play it (assuming it's more dungeon DLCs) but I can't wait to see the lore behind it.

Yeah, not very excited about more dungeons. This one is thinking the most exciting thing about Dragon Bones will be the QoL stuff that gets released in the free patch along with the DLC.

Same here - as a PvE player I'm much more interested in story content.

For me, I would love to see a new chapter taking place in Elsweyr, or Black Marsh. Those two areas were just barely hinted at in the base ESO game, and I totally would love to see more of the Khajiit and Argonian cultures. Just as Wrothgar has filled in a lot of gaps in Orsimer culture for me, and Valenwood in the base ESO has done for the Bosmer . . .

Personally I'm least interested in the Altmer - saw enough of that on Auridon to decide it was too -- "fake" for me. Give me Grahtwood or Malabar Tor any day!
TheCheshireKhajiit
Altmer have always been Khajiit’s least favorite Elder Scrolls race.

In other news, they released the January Crown Store Showcase. Khajiit got super excited when he saw the beautiful snow leopard senche at the head of the article, but alas, it was just a non-com pet and not a mount sad.gif

Lady Argos are getting some love with a couple of good looking costumes, and yet another male Nord costume (*sigh*).

Nix Ox Fabricant Mount looks cool, but Khajiit can not imagine buying this one when they just gave us a free one.

Looks like Khajiit will be holding onto his crowns for now.
ghastley
Is that Polymorph enough to get mirocu over to ESO?
Grits
Khajiit, I had the same reaction when I saw that gorgeous snow leopard… pet. *sigh* laugh.gif

That Jarl’s deluxe moot outfit might make a good-looking robe or gown. Time will tell.

I have an elf who is dancing circles over the midriff-baring outfits. Fingers crossed that the jewelry isn’t too chunky.

Hey, they made Jerric’s morning hair! tongue.gif

Crow polymorph! That looks neat!
haute ecole rider
I don't share others' sentiment about the snow leopard PET - Awesome!! Interested in that one definitely!

The deluxe moot outfit might be a good choice for the ladies - proper belt and all.

But Maz and Phae are both definitely interested in the Argonian outfits! They've got body tats to show off!

I had a LOL moment over the rock-paper-scissors emote - I can see three of us doing just that in deciding the next delve . . .

tbh I've always found the Altmer to be interesting in the sense that their homeland would probably be the most "magical" out of all the other non-beast provinces. Having seen the main island stuff from pre-release that they eventually cut, it really is as crazy as I hoped it would be and I'm excited to see it all. (Not really spoilers since, again, it's cut content, but the devs have confirmed it's "canon" information and has been referenced both in ESO and in Legends, but still, might give away some things from the upcoming DLC assuming we go to the main island)

The only other time we've had mention of anything similar to this EVER is the way the Imperial Council communicates with each other in what amounts to the Elder Scrolls equivalent to an internet chatroom. Which, of course, we never actually get to see in-game. It's...definitely what I wanted to see from Alinor, tbh. We better see some sunbirds too.

Anyways, the only thing that caught my eye with the showcase was the polymorph but of course I don't have a character to use it with. :v (I do love how the leopard has a goatee though)
TheCheshireKhajiit
The polymorph is pretty cool looking, but honestly Khajiit is not sure how he would use it. Maybe on Brenna to give herself a terrifying visage on command? Don’t know.

There’s info about the new Costume system out today - I’m on my phone or I’d link the article. Looks like using the appearance of any tier and any weight armor will be a thing, plus weapon dyeing!

Still wondering: will there be a no armor option for bare riding?

We finally got the details on the Q1 update.

DLC involves Peryite Worshipers (!) and Fang Lair (!!!) the latter of which will most likely take up another spot in Craglorn if my memory of Arena is correct (it's in the Craglorn area). Funny thing is people were guessing Labyrinthian was going to be one of the dungeons. Almost?

OUTFIT SYSTEM. BUILD YOUR OWN COSTUME. KNOWN MOTIFS ONLY, AND IT INCLUDES WEAPONS!!!! Everyone gets one (1) free costume slot and you can buy more in the Crown Store. Customization is done with in-game gold, but you can also buy tokens for that...which might suggest it's expensive as hell in-game. Not perfect, but it's...something? (We need more details on how it works I guess) I was hoping on having a custom costume per character but it doesn't look like it's happening.

Level Up and Skill Advisor. Teaches you how to play the game as you level, and it even rewards you with things! (Not retroactive, though it seems every character you level will get something. Maybe)

HOUSE STORAGE. NOT AS AWFUL. A separate storage from the bank where you can hoard things. Containers bought from Master Craft Mediator or from Crown Store. You get one free container from the Level Up Advisor when a character hits level 18 (again, AFTER the patch, not before)

Also new battlegrounds idk, I stopped caring after the housing and costume parts. It'll be on the PTS next week.
TheCheshireKhajiit
*Deleted because ninja’d by Monkey! tongue.gif *
monkeyemoness
Additional info (from Reddit, thanks dominoid):
  • The rewards obtained through the Level Up Advisor are items that will be helpful for your character as they progress to level 50, and will not be retroactively granted to existing characters. We'll have a full list of the milestone rewards listed in the PTS patch notes for visibility.
  • You cannot craft the Housing Storage Furnishings. Storage coffers and chests will be available for purchase from the Mastercraft Mediator, the Crown Store, or from Tel Var Merchants. You'll also be able to earn a storage coffer from the Level Up Advisor when you reach level 18, if you have not already purchased it.
  • Weapons are included in the Outfit System, so you'll be able to not only change how your weapon looks, but also... dye it! Cool, right?
  • It's just a nice little "good job" reward, but keep in mind those (and other collectible-type things) are per account, not per character. The mount included in the Level Up Advisor is just your basic brown horse.
  • Any character that hits a new level will receive their applicable rewards once they ding the new level. So, you could start a brand new character and get every reward until 50, or you could pick up an older level 32 and get every reward after level 32.
Details on outfit system:
  • You will receive one free Outfit slot, and additional slots can be purchased from the Crown Store.
You can change your Outfit in a slot as many times as you want for a fee [Dominoid: presumably gold].
You're not really changing the look of an actual item, but think of it more like creating a "costume" that you're wearing.
  • Battlegrounds are going back to non-CP.
  • Crown Crates and other collectible-type rewards will be limited to one per account (you can't grind for Crown Crates)

Sounds like it will be worthwhile to create a "level up rewards mule" character to hold at level 1 until the update goes into effect...

Oh, I would LOVE to see Labyrinthian as a doable dungeon! And as old as it is supposed to be, it really should be in game! So, I'm keeping my fingers crossed on it! The replica in Skyrim was really poorly done imho; way too easy and ... boring. I doubt if ESO would make it too easy, lol.

LOVE the sound of the Skill Advisor and all those rewards for leveling up!!! But ... (that said...) gee, what about characters that are maxed? This game does have a tendency to almost always reward the short term players and ignore the long term players with their bonuses. I'm out of slots to start a new character, urk.

The storage sounds okay if you just want to hide all those bound crown items that you aren't really wanting to destroy; (or maybe store a bunch of armor and jewelry so I can dump some of my bank mules) = but in a house like our Guild Hall = anything in there is something I want displayed and seen; not hidden in a chest. I may put one of those in the Skywatch and Daggerfall apartments though. Me = I still want additional slots, and don't feel like they are responding to the numerous complaints they have had on how low their inventory slots are for the larger houses.

Still, this is all exciting news; especially that Peryite is finally going to be represented! WOO HOO! although I won't buy any dungeon only DLC; I actually do play them on the Plus membership. Will def get screens of that Peryite one! That was one of my favorite Daedric quests in Oblivion; and especially loved that Spellbreaker shield reward! I wonder if they will have that in this game?

** Ditto on running over to the PTS! May see you there, lol.

*** Thanks for posting this info, Monkey!

I'm mostly interested in the storage collectible you get at 18 (apparently? I've yet to see an official source) but it turns out Ruben--my lowest level character--is at level 19. gdi

I mean I can make a new character and get the rewards for the previous ones easy but still. Also I just realized my last mule may be out of a job soon. Depending on how much you can store in these.

Don’t execute your mules just yet. Khajiit is not expecting the storage items to hold much. Hopefully this will be proven wrong, but Khajiit will be keeping his bankers alive for now.

Exactly what I was thinking = if they offer enough storage it might actually free up some bank mule space so I can make another fun player character instead; which would be Awesome ... but, really hard to think about eliminating even the lowest mules after I spent so much gold in upgrading their backpacks and training up their horses and crafting so they could do the highest level crafting and possibly bring in Master Writs for me; and all the researching they learned, etc.

It is a decision I'm really going to have to weigh carefully; but I am thinking it might be cheaper in the long run to buy extra character slots and make the new characters that way = keep my crafting mules for their valuable contribution to the Master Writ pool.

I have (however) become overrun with junk again since making this latest new character; and have been considering going through all my mules and grinding up everything that isn't level CP160; and only keeping the Monster sets; Trial sets; and PvP sets in those. That would free up a whole lot of space; laugh.gif

WOO HOO !!!! I hope it is in the near future! I really hate to give up my dream of all the tables being under one roof for ease of access; but really don't want to strip the Guild Hall down to nothing to do it!

TheCheshireKhajiit
So they said on the show that the least amount of slots a storage item will have is 30 slots. If you get all of the storage collectibles you will have a total of 360 storage slots in your house! Since it’s a collectible, you can put a storage item in multiple houses, but they apparently share items with any storage items you put in other homes (ex: if you put an axe in a chest in Pinnacle and then put the same collectible storage chest in Hundings Palace, the axe will be available for pick up at Hundings as well as Pinnacle).
haute ecole rider
I”m actually okay with it being shared storage for all the homes - just getting a max of 360 storage slots per house would be awesome!
Grits
I just keep grinning over the new outfit system. Even if we can’t go pantsless (yet), there are some minimal pants among the 270 leg styles that Rich Lambert (frequently short-pantsed himself) mentioned. The Argonian rawhide skort comes to mind.

Holy cow, this is going to be great!! biggrin.gif

My bank characters are in no danger of being dragged out back and shot. They’re too awesome. I planned to buy a new character slot and gut through the upgrades anyway when some day a new class comes out. Also someone mentioned that a fifteenth slot will be available after the update for those who have maxed out their 14 characters already. I think that even with 8 containers of global storage (yay!!!), I will still end up stuffing things in various backpacks.

Fingers crossed that more housing slots and a Guild Hall designation with perks is forthcoming. This storage thing is a huge step in the right direction for housing. I was seriously concerned that the new stuff would be Crown Store only, limited time, then buy 1,000 Crown Crates for a chance of maybe getting something.

Custom outfits, people!!! Woo!! biggrin.gif
TheCheshireKhajiit
Khajiit was thinking they said you could make an outfit that was just a helmet if you wanted. Pretty sure the guy said that on the show.
Grits
Oh yes, you can definitely make an outfit with just a helmet. I think a lot of people will make one with just a shoulder and helmet to cover their monster set, or just a belt so that their weird dropped set piece matches their crafted armor (I’m looking at you, Mother’s Sorrow). Those partially filled outfits will let your equipped armor show in the empty slots. They would need to make something like a naked motif that would fill let you fill an outfit slot with an invisible item that hides your equipped armor piece for the pantsless look that I’m rambling about. laugh.gif

I think there is a hierarchy with how equipment shows, which is why under the current setup we can’t just add a Hide Pants option next to Hide Helmet under Gameplay. This is just a guess, but if Hide Helmet is higher than Costume and Costume is higher than Outfit, you could wear an armor costume from the Crown Store with the helmet hidden and still show your dyed weapons by selecting that Outfit.

Okay, so they are just like mini bank accounts type things! Well, I like the idea of having 360 extra storage slots! I will def use them no matter what! I was hoping to be able to use them to sort out some sets; but this is fine too.

I know one thing that will go into one immediately = all the clothing and disguises I kept because they were cute to wear in town (when not out adventuring). That will free up A LOT of room in both my bank and at least one bank mule, lol. (like the "Servant Outfit" from No Shira in Hew's Bane, etc).

The storage sounds great. I'm already thinking of ways I could use these aside from just storage. I guess I won't need the Banker in my houses after all. :v (I wonder how you get the other coffers, if the larger chests are through Vouchers/Tel Var/Crowns)

I'm happy with what we're getting with Outfits, but I also can't wait to have things like regular clothes and monster styles included along with the motifs.

Bold = panic.gif panic.gif panic.gif

I am pretty sure I followed all that for the simple reason that I always use "Hide Helmet" on all my characters; but if I put on the collectible hats they DO show up on my head, which is how Misa and Britta are seen wearing those Misrule crowns.

I am really hoping that we can get the look of the Argonian lowest level shorts and/or the Bosmer lowest level tops while still having the protection of level CP160 gear!

https://i.imgur.com/4knhIjX.png

And I do really love the idea of having a nude or pantie bottom we can use while still getting the protection of armor.

One of the tricks a friend taught me to use in PvP is wearing stuff like the evening dress costume over your armor = so enemy players can't see your armor style and figure out what your perks are. (don't accidentally forget to put the armor beneath it though like an unmentioned Nord party animal did, rollinglaugh.gif )

Woot! Another ESO+ event 9-15 Jan!

1. Those with a paid ESO+ will get a free crate for each day they play. Crates will be issued 18 Jan.

2. Those without a paid ESO+ can get a free period of using ESO+ (but no crates unless they actually purchase ESO+).

More details: https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/ne...Our-Bonus-Event

Buffy loves crates but Acadian only lets her get free ones. Lol.
TheCheshireKhajiit
Wow! Another one! Khajiit is surprised they are doing this. Aren’t the Crown Crate seasons 2 months long? If so then February will be time for a new Crown Crate season.

Actually, it makes more sense from a business perspective to do the free Crate give away at the end of the season instead of the beginning. If someone gets something really cool during the free Crate giveaway at the beginning of the season, they may not buy any more crown crates. If you wait till the end of the season, people determined to get something cool would have been buying crates all season long.
