Cirque Du Soleil - AlegriaNow, I'm not all that into musicals and such...well...maybe just Phantom of the Opera...A little bit Les Miserables, and I've never been too a Cirque Du Soleil show.
Now then, this song popped up on Sky.FM for the 'World' Station and it was a nice slow build-up, with catchy tones and simple yet potent lyrics.
I of course had to wonder: what is Alegria? If not a Prescription medicine for those with common minor medical complaints but worse side effects, which include in a few, rare cases a slow, excruciatingly painful death.
It's a Spanish word apparently, meaning: "Jubilation" and the site describes it as follows:
QUOTE
What is Alegría?
Alegría is an emotion, a state of mind. The levers of inspiration of the spectacle are numerous. This universe is inhabited by the insane ones of the king, minstrels, beggars, of the old aristocrats, children as well as clowns, only characters able to resist the changes of times and the social transformations which result from this.
May need to go see the show after this.
