It's honestly something of a mess since it's unclear about what will corrupt you and how much of a corrupting influence it is outside of food, but at least in Fable 2 you can actually see your purity/corruption level. Apparently, it still exists in 3, but the meter is hidden for whatever reason. (It's also renamed to "Primal", if the wiki is to be believed) For all I know, though, it's probably a severe bug. Ah well.
That aside, I never did play any Metroid Prime games past the first. The light/dark mechanic from the following ones seemed interesting tbh.

Sounds like Metroid Prime 2: Echoes. That was an interesting game, I didn't care for the ammo mechanic for the light, dark and annihilator beam weapons but the rest of the game was neat.

Played some more System Shock 2. I am now just past the part I stopped at the first time I played, which was to purge the radiation from the coolant tubes on Deck 1. Yeah, I definitely know what I am doing now and paid more attention to the mechanics this time.
Dr. Polito (for anyone who has played the game, yes, I know who she actually is), told me after I got rid of the radiation that the Many were--to paraphrase--bringing out the big guns now. Oh boy, I can't wait for whatever fresh hell awaits me!

Kind of? I hear others say the same thing. I have actually played very little of Deus Ex, but from what I have seen they are similar in some respects. Both are FPS-RPG hybrids (at least, SS2 and Deus Ex), both are cyberpunk and have similar aesthetics, and both seem to have some similarly functioning mechanics and controls (the extent to which I can't say for certain). But one stark difference is that System Shock is decidedly more horror-themed.
But since I have played a modicum of Deus Ex, I cannot entirely confirm the extent to which they are similar.

I played a little more Icewind Dale EE today. I don't think I'll keep at it. The 2nd edition D&D rules that make spellcasters so useless really gets to me.
But I did discover another diamond. Another of the voice actors added by Heart of Fury is Vanessa Marshall (aka Hera). She does my favorite voice in the game.

I was going to say how uncomfortable that belt looks but then I noticed that her entire outfit looks like it's made up of scraps fished out of the local costume shop's dumpster. But then I've seen book skirts ruin an otherwise fine design so.
Anyways, tried a bit of Fable 3 before running over to ESO and it got me thinking about how much Fable 3 ended up disappointing me. I discovered the reason 2 felt more...home-y was because Fable 3 was a lot more railroaded (or 'streamlined'), with skill and other upgrades such as job promotions, expressions, and the ability to buy homes and businesses all locked behind the main quest progression. Because of that, it almost felt like you had to rush through half of the game in order to unlock everything. In spite of all the improvements, it was ultimately a less enjoyable experience.
No wonder I was so hard on Skyrim, I went through that before.

Yeah, Khajiit was expecting
Fable3 to be more like
Fable2, but what we got was something different. This one couldn't ever put his finger on it, but something about the game just wasn't as charming as
Fable2.

So the main quest of the Clockwork City DLC is challenging my knowledge of an obscure part of Elder Scrolls lore and now I gotta restrain myself from finishing it all in one night (though I suspect I'm near the end, or at least past the half-way point).

Completed System Shock 2 last night. Plowed through it in the past couple weeks. Overall, I really liked the game. Great atmosphere, a few good scares, and mostly solid mechanics. However, a few of my criticisms:
-The game sort of dragged on towards the end, and felt a little too padded.
-Firearms degrade a little too fast. Are they made of paper or something? It never became an issue for me, mind you, but I think weapons should have degraded slower and disposable maintenance tools should have been harder to come by.
A couple of my sharper criticisms are getting into spoiler territory, so just in case somebody wants to play the game I will put it in spoilers:

Major battle over one of the planets in SW:Rebellion today. So I fled back to Fable 3 and tbh I found the part where you're given free reign to do a bunch of quests after meeting the Bowerstone Resistance to be the most enjoyable so far. It's the only time it feels, mmm, appropriate? After the halfway point it almost seems irresponsible unless you're sent on a quest for a relic to fill the royal treasury.
I would have gone to Oblivion, but now I'm not sure if I wanna do that, continue my years old Morrowind file, or FINALLY finish Daggerfall (I'm at the start lol). Guess I'll take some time to decide.

Well, I'm a dumb-dumb. I just realized that I had actually NOT finished Painkiller. There was an expansion pack that I didn't get to. I only found it out because I felt like starting a new game for the original missions, and I saw it in the options for which part you wanted to start a new game for. I totally forgot about it. The expansion is called Battle Out of Hell. Time to mow down the legions of Hell again.
Also, I started the Shadow Warrior reboot from 2013 (or was it 2014?). I like it so far. It's got some fresh mechanics for an FPS and it's pretty fun. It got in a couple good jokes so far too, although admittedly some of the other ones were rather weak. On Chapter 4 or 5 of that game.

Still enjoyed it. Didn't like the ending, but I know there is a true ending for the whole game that you can see on higher difficulties. I don't really feel like doing that though, so I just saw the ending on YouTube.
Oh, forgot to mention before that I started Hollow Knight a couple weeks ago. Wanted to add a Metroidvania game into my library. A couple hours into it, and so far it is pretty good.

So I recently went back to Fable and his time I'm having a better time with 2. Tryin to take this play through nice and slow with Girl Sparrow and her strange Treasure Found noises. She's less inclined to do labor for her gold, so she relies on playing Trader much more than my previous Guy Sparrow. Also there's gambling but she's bless successful at that.
She's currently a Ghoul :T (evil/corrupt) and she recently recruited Hammer.
Might do a magic inclined character next. I did that in 3 but somehow it wasn't as fun. Most things in that game aren't as fun.
