I swear I heard the Oblivion music....
Other than that... I'm now listening to music that actually exists...

Yes! Brother of Metal! Freedom call is definitly a great choice! Heard of Edguy?
Manowar - Metal is the law!
Nightwish - Century Child - Forever Yours
Been going back through being insanely addicted to NW, after a few weeks of only having one in every five or so songs I play being from them....
Edguy is great, heard "Sands of time" on the radio a few times, don't own it though

Listening to Crime Fighters Elite by *sniff* Cerebral scrub. They had a nasty brake-up a few days ago. They couldn't hold onto a bassist for more than a few months and after a while Jake and Andrew stopped practicing very much together, and now a new nail is in the coffin. I wish that they could work this out and reverse the break-up, and I hope very much that they stay friends. Until then, all I have are memories.

I'm listening to Opeth's 'Advent'
I like the way Opeth goes from hard, distorted stuff to acoustic, and how they set up their guitar parts. Instead of the classic rhythm/lead guitarist, they pretty much have two leads playing separate parts. You'll know what I'm saying when/if you listen.
I don't usually like screaming, but this is the exception. (and what a good one it is!)

Anyways, I'm listening to 7/4 Shoreline by, you probably guessed it, Broken Social Scene. I hope to see them the next time they play Ontario, or a province not in the maritimes. I highly recomend checking out Broken Social Scene and all the other bands under the label at

I actually like all kinds of music - even the extreme ones, but since I don't do a lot of physical things I need to unleash my energe in something else, so I do that in music. That's why I like listening to dancemusic more than listening to things as Joss Stone a lot - I think songs of Joss Stone are beautifull but they're just too slow, too boring.
Edit: whoa, a lot of you like rock and metal and such! I don't think anyone else likes hardcore. Especially because it's almost only populair in The Netherlands and Germany.

Thats probably because most hardcore genres started in Germany. Hardcore and goth music doesn't have a very strong base in Canada, but select groups are loved here. I don't think I know anyone here who hasn't heard about seven songs from Ramstein. Which brings me to the next song running through my brain.

I'm not sure what you'd call them really. iTunes has them listed as 'metal' and 'hardcore'. I guess that sounds about right. THey sound mostly like a cross between Korn and Rage against the machine maybe? I don't know... they're korn without the swearing and they have more positive lyrics instead of the death and killing and depressing-ness.

I'm listening to "Evolution (The Grand Design)" by Symphony X.
I just bought their album V : The New Mythology Suite, and I must say that I'm not by any means disappointed.
I love Symphony X's lyrics, depsite some people saying that they're 'cheesy' in my opinion, they are very well written and thought out, and about cool and interesting topics. Such as mythology.
As a guitarist, I can't help but listen to this band with my jaw dropped. Michael Romeo thinks of some sweet riffs, and his solos are ridiculous.

Im listening to Mastodon's Leviathan album now
Im a metalcolic

I also listen Disturbed, Avenged Sevenfold, Godsmack, System of A Down and Bullet for My Valentine
I find their lyrics very meaningful and encouraging. I dont like those metals like just screaming and shouting

I also listen to hip-hop sometimes. Big Daddy Kane, Ice Cube, Da Lynch Mob, The Perceptionists and Styles of Beyond are my favourite
It might sound weird but I also like to listen enstrumental and classical music like the ones in Ultima online's, Diablo 2's and Oblivion's soundtrack.
I love techno/altarnative music too. ( Celldweller rocks )
Yes, I am a music freak

By the way, can someone tell me if they know a group which makes metal music but about fantasy subjects ( Like Mastodon's songs about Mobydick )

Fire Frei by Ramstein.
The whole hardcore scene started in Rotterdam, Holland... People from Rotterdam were proud of it and used it to set off off Amsterdam (I'm sorry, this sentence is probably messed up but I'm not THAT good in English). It spreaded out only a little bit in Europe, to England, Italy and Germany in special. Around 1995 it was amazing populair over here, togheter with Happy Hardcore (it has Hardcore in the name but don't ask why, it is totally different actually), but after then, most music labels instantly dropped hardcore (ID&T!) and it flew back to the underground. Now it's making a little uprise, but you still won't see it on TV here.
And about Rammstein, I think I can't list up seven songs

. Theyre not hardcore either - or you might mean something different with hardcore. When I'm speaking about hardcore I mean hardcore DANCE music, so, in full name, Hardcore House, and definatly not hardcore rock. See, thats what I meant: hardcore house isn't known very well in other countries.

I'm listening to (and learning) Rage Against the Machine's Testify, which is one of they're best songs. It's riff is simple and yet beautiful and the solo is astonishing as no one uses Wa pedals like Rage. The riff is easy to learn, but I lack a proper Wa pedal and a whammy bar.
Soon me and some friends will attempt to record a song we wrote, so I'll be listening to that ASAP

. Well, it lacks proper lyrics, but then again, who needs them?
