Im listening to Hard-Fi - Living for the weekend.
I would normally dismiss anything "new" as rubbish, but this is strangely catchly. And it makes sense too. Still, my brother brought it, so it wasnt about to be any kind of loss.

I feel like the odd man out here, nobody listens to the stuff I listen to.
Lately I've been listening to "Toxicity" and "Deer Dance" by System of a Down. But I just bought an old Linkin Park cd for "In the End" and "Papercut". Seems like I'm the only one that likes that kinda stuff here, that's why I never post in this thread.

I like some of Linkin Parks tunes. Im listening to meteora right now. Still, I get this feeling I get with most bands where it gets too samey after a while. I cant understand it sometimes, but I like fresh songs that sound completely different each track. Maybe its just my imagination. Or maybe its why I was so taken by Faith No More.

Last post made was 9 days ago? Did everyone stop listening to music?

LOL
Right now, I'm listening to some music that reminds me of my homeland. To be more specific, I'm listening to
Crvena Jabuka (translated ''Red Apple'') and the song ''Nekako s' proljeća'' (roughly translated ''In Springtime''). It somehow fits me, because now it's spring, and I'm really starting to remember my old friends!

I had to work for 8 bloody days in beautiful southern country's sun & rain, silly ! And so, I just had to stop listening to music... but lol, lol & 1000 times LOL for "The Red Apple" !

It's spring, alright...

Yeah. I'll listen to some Fear Factory now. Hard enough for you, Mazelure?
FF isn't hard, just fast & furious. "Demanufacture" is a kick-a** album, although it is the only one that I have from them
but anyway:
The Dropkick Murphy's - BAROOM HERO -> it's the kind of song that says "Even if there is no sense in fighting anymore, just continue to fight, DAMNIT !!!". Right now that spirit is what I need.

Yeah well, they're the best Ex-Yu has to offer. And once you start living in the west, you kinda start to miss your country music

Offcourse, that doesn't mean I should start listening to Sinan Sakić or similar BS, but.....If you ever start living outside our country, you will understand what I was talking about

I'm still remembering-The Cranberries. Don't know how I started listening to them or even got their music, they're not exactly in my genre but I do and I like them.
Kiln: I listen to that sort of music, my tastes are pretty spread though, I don't like a lot of music but the music I do like is fairly spread across the metal and classical genres (and even some pop/punk

). Now I am listening to Good morning Beautiful by Deftones, now Holy Mountains by System of a Down.

I'm listening to something...erm...
similar to what mplantinga is.

Dvorak's symphony, Smphony X...close enough.
Symphony X - The Edge of Forever. One of their (much) older songs, but it's still one of the best. It starts out soft and emotional, then gets into some sweet soloing before getting heavy. That why I love bands like Symphony X and Dream Theater so much; they sare masters of changing the tone many times withing their songs while still making it seems like the same song.
EDIT: I just learned that Symphony X cancelled their European concerts b/c Lepond (the bassist) is undergoing surgery.

I agree on that Danny.. Symphony X and Dream Theater along with many other bands really makes songs much better when they go like the soft start and turns into this heavy rythme at the end. Like in Unleash the Fire, it starts of pretty heavy with this kinda sharp guitar and through out it gets more deep at the end and jumps up inbetween

At the moment thought, I'm listning to Kaizers Orchestra. Norwegian band, mostly made of
bergensere. I don't remember how many is in, but if I'm not all wrong it's something between six and nine. They sing this norwegian / deutsch kinda way, not bad - Not all the rock, but more something inbetween - not bad at all thought...

I'm currently in the process of discovering new music of a particular genre. To do this, I enter an artist in amazon, and then see what playlists people come up with with similar artists. I then check those out and listen to a few samples. Right now the band I started with is
Markscheider Kunst. I think I mentioned them before, but now you can actually hear one of their tracks as well, so yeah...
What I have discovered so far is a pretty crazy band called Gogol Bordello which produces some weird balkanized punk thing, and someone called Shantel.

Just got Ray Davies' "Other People's Lives." Mrs. Treydog and I had heard an interview on National Public Radio and both liked what we heard.
If you are an old-time Kinks fan expected more of the same, this will be a disappointment. It is much quieter and slower. Ray shows his musical prowess, but it is much more about people and the incidents of life.
Favorites (so far) include: "Is There Life After Breakfast?" and "Things are Gonna Change." Soulful and worth a listen.

I'm still listening to Metallica, but instead of the softer songs I've switched to the harder songs. I am fascinated by the Ride The Lightning album, I cannot put it down along with Master Of Puppets.
Other than that I occassionally switch to the Stone Temple Pilots Thank You album, Candlebox, Pearl Jam's Ten Album and Guns'N'Roses Appetite For Destruction.
I'm disappointed though at the number of people who think Metallica is 100% emo, they aren't at all.

Their texts are subtle and vulgar at the same time. Their mellodies are strong, dark, yet somehow quite adequate and polished. They are, in one word, beautiful and ugly, horrifying and sensual, all at the same time. But I guess I am just being subjective here

Listening to Quennsryche's 'Operation: Mindcrime' concept album. Great story, message, and music.
The story starts with a Dr. X calling for revolution, but only to serve his own ends. X uses a heroin addict named Nikki to kill political and religious leaders, and another character named Mary to be Nikki's 'conscience'. When Mary and Nikki become lovers, X orders Nikki to kill her, which would cause Nikki to lose all sense of individuality and morality. Mary is later found dead, and it's unclear whether or not he actually killed her.
The story is told through Nikki's flashbacks as he sits in prison for numerous murders, trying to connect all of the dots. The album ends with the phrase 'I remember now.' The story leaves a lot up to the listener, such as whether or not X actually existed and whether or not Nikki actually killed Mary...
This album gains the Dantrag Seal of Approval.

Don't you love it when your neighbours that're just out of their pampers think they need to pollute the environment with their silly modern music? I know I do. It gives me a reason to whip up some classics and turn that volume control knob clockwise all the way. The subwoofer stays on lowest setting, but that's still enough to cause minor quakes.
They're listening to some crappy MTV R&B, so I'm giving them some of these:
Fear Factor ft. Cyprus Hill - Back the f*** up
Onyx ft. Biohazard - Slam
Jungle Brothers - Brain
Bone Thungs & Harmony - 1st of the Month (K&D Remix!)
