Nice work Chaos... (sorry dont feel like spelling the first part)
That lays down a wonderful background.
But I wouldn't say that the empire is completely defeated. They still have their interests

.
The Legion members in Vvardenfell have lost all authority they had over the people and most of the soldiers have died. Still they are haning on but they aren't as powerful as they used to be.

QUOTE(Intestinal Chaos @ Aug 27 2005, 03:26 PM)
Alright the possible factions so far are as follows. It's what state they are in and things like that. I will also state why the other factions aren't around. Some of these reasons might be changed if anyone thinks of something better.
House Hlaalu: As I stated before, money is useless, the Empire support has been dropped due to low public opinion and the fact that the Legion is weak. They had Duke Vedam ousted from Grandmaster because he was a Duke and thus a servant of the collapsed empire, he was replaced by a young enterprising man of questionable intent who has burning ambitions to raise Hlaalu's power.
House Telvaani: With the Imperial control dying down Telvaani seems to be more interested. They don't want the sites of dwemer research to be misused by stupid warriors or to be exploited by greedy thieves. They also lust for power and respect they feel they aren't getting. The old fart they used to have was replaced in a vicious coup by a young upstart mage (young in Telvaani terms) who is enraged by the state of things and is quite power hungry.
House Redoran: With the Imperials gone and the Tribunal collapsed House Redoran feels the world is too chaotic and faithless, they wish to fill the spot of their former "rulers" and rule with their own brand of Redoran law, based off of their teachings of the house. The former Grandmaster (I forget his name

) was a corrupt man whom was holding Redoran back from glory. He was publicly challenged by a ambitious young noble and slain. The young noble was voted into the office of Grandmaster. The young noble is a very militant man and is revered as a great warrior and a tactical genius but he can be quite merciless towards those he views as enemies and he can also be quite close minded.
House Dres & Indoril (not in): Contact has been cut off from the mainland by the remaining members of the legion. It isn't easy getting to and near impossible getting from Vvardenfell. Dres and Indoril don't view Vvardenfell as very important and they are involved in their own struggles on the Morrowind mainland.
Mages, Thieves, and Warriors Guild (not in): The thieves have retreated from Vvardenfell viewing it as dangerous and too much of a risk and they are reciving heavy assault from Hlaalu who views them as outsiders and troublemakers and from the Cammona Tong who views them as competition. The fighters and the Mages guild are viewed in a extremely hostile manner by the citizens of the House cities as Imperial Institutions and outsiders. They have been decreed unlawful by every house on Vvardenfell and thus most buildings have been torn down by angry mobs and any who could fled did and those that couldn't were killed.
Imperial Legion (In): Since all contact is cut off from the mainland even Imperial Legionarres aren't allowed on the mainland. Since the Legion has recived massive assaults from every city they have occupied and being decreed unlawful by the House cities the remenents of the Legion have gone into hiding in small camps and some soldiers are scattered in caves and ruins. Most attempts to unite the scattered legionarres has been unsuccesful.
Tribunal & Ordinators (definently not): With Almalexia and Sotha Sil dead and the heart of Lorkhan destroyed the Tribunal lossed massive amounts of faith and power. The people started to mistrust the temple for being lied to for so long. Eventually the lack of faith was too great and the Ministry of Truth fell from the sky crashing into vivec's palace killing the former god. The High Fane was extremely damaged and most the inhabitants were killed along with the Archanon. With their leaders dead the remaining priests just lost complete faith in their dead gods though there are small cults still worshiping the old ways. The public now despises the Tribunal and their servants the Ordinators. The Ordinators no more had Empire sanctioned power or the power of the temple and they were rejected by the public and the houses. Many Ordinators quit and a few would rather die than accept what the world had becomse so they committed suicide.
One more thing
Ashlanders (maybe): The Ashlanders were already be detested and weak before the empire collapsed, and now that the Houses have been their conquest many Ashlander settlements have come under attack. Most roaming Ashlanders have been killed and others are fleeing into the wilderness. The Ashlanders are weaker than never before but they continue to fight back, feebly some would say, but they have done hardly any damage at all besides small raids on caravans and groups of individuals. The remaining Ashlanders have almost no hope for their survivial.
Morag Tong (Considering It ) The Morag Tong really wasn't a big player in the conquest game and this still remains true. Some of their members might be encountred during the house wars as contracted assassins but they aren't all that important
The Sixth House (NO WAY!): They are all dead... didn't you pay attention to Morrowind?
(I wrote this all in my bedroom in my underwear at 1 o' clock in the morning in about ten minuetes so if you think it sucks just bear with me and I'll think up some more stuff or give me suggestions)
Any feedback?

The characters from before can be in it and if you want they can preserve their former relations with each other but I'd like to make something new... None of the Dunmer really liked them to begin with. Now that the Legion is weak because the Empire is collapsing the houses stepped up as the protectors and providers for the people and the houses just don't like the Empire or the Legion. So the houses decreed them illegal and what the people haven't done with riots they finished with soldiers.

Well Seeker, the problem with that is it doesn't fit in with the background of the story, being that the emperor is dead and the legion is falling apart, there would be no East Empire Company...so...I seriously doubt it.
Edit: Sniper: That's a good idea, it'll keep things running smoothly.

East Empire Company (Probably not): The East Empire company was weakened after Hlaalu dropped their support from all outlander orginazations. After being being attacked by Redoran soldiers for being "allies" of the Empire and Hlaalu anybody who wasn't killed is attempting to pentrate the blockade from the Mainland in any way possible.

The plot is
House: Kill the other houses and dominate Vvardenfell
Ashlander or Sympathiser: Save the Ashlanders from destruction, retain or win back their lands and maybe even unite the tribes against the houses.
Legionarre or Sympathiser: Restore the Legion to its former glory, unite the scattered camps and bring law back to Vvardenfell.
Neutral: (maybe) Stop the Madness! This probably involves switching between factions and houses doing work here and there with the main goal of restoring the status quo.

Sounds good. BUT if we start with a clean slate there is no way to 'perserve their relationships'. I mean, the relationship is related to the history of what they've been through. And if that stuff didn't happen they never knew each other. etc.

It wasn't a big player because the wars weren't going on. Right now they'd be BIG in buisness. As not only are they assassins, but you don't lose honor from using them (*Honorable* Writ of Execution anyone?). So all three houses would be using 'em.

I guess I wasn't clear enough. Yeah I figured they'd be in big buisness but anyone with them would be working for alot of different factions. I was supposing on maybe if your in a house protecting something or somebody was assasination or hiring something out on someone. So Morag Tong is optional but really they aren't going to have a big ending, they just kill stuff.
Status Quo is the normality. Making things how they have always been. Such as in this the status quo would be The houses not dominating Vvardenfell and just bickering as before and the Legion being in charge. But mostly what I meant by status quo was peace.
And a symphathiser is someone... who.. sympathises... for something..
Like someone who has sympathy for the Legion or the Ashlanders but isn't part of them. Like the quakers had sympathy for the slaves way back when slavery was legal.
And I mean preserve relationships like Dantrag's char had something for Minque's char and maybe they can still have whatever was going on with eachother in this one too... just as long as it makes sense.

I'm, not sure what to do with Vivec! A whole bunch of hostile houses living with eachother in close proximity... I might make it a battle ruin or something like that, but I'm still thinking on it.
And I was sort of thinking about the minority alliance but the Legion and the Ashlanders detest eachother. We'll just see what will happen.

Possibly, I will think about it but it's a strong possibilty (I have to go in about 10 mins anyways)

I really don't see the importance of the EEC really, they don't seem like fighters to me. But if you strongly belive they should be there I could easily change that. It's just we can't have so many factions! Having 4-5 is bad enough

But I can make this all work. Maybe some people could join a faction but I have a feeling you all want to restore the Legion so maybe a person or two could be in a house and the majority as a sympathiser.
