If its going to be tossed anywhere, throw it in Red Mountain. Its fairly close and if the Lava doesn;t outright destroy the staff, it will sink deep into the lava beyound anyone's reach.

Because, artifacts have a way of finding their ways to other people. It'd end up like Gold Brand. Some dead hero's weapon being used to entice a mortal into doing that Prince's bidding. And we reaaaallly don't want a staff like that comming back...
