Wow, I've been kind of busy this summer: SATs, family/friends visiting, Volunteer weeks, and so on.

I just finished volunteering, and I feel so... happy! Yet, sad. I really missed being around Kindergarteners/1-2 graders for 8 hours per day for 2 weeks... They can be really cute (though very energy-draining)!

Anyway, right now, my family's just relaxing and we shop at the mall or go to the movies...

Right now, I'm trying to learn 3-D modeling (character modeling to be specific) with Maya, which is pretty cool, though a bit tedious and difficult at times. Oh well! Practice, practice, and more practice will help better my skills, I guess.

"Stealth"? Never heard of that movie. Is that coming out soon or is it already in theaters?

Never used Maya, or any other 3D tool, but I like Maya art better than 3D studio max.

Both have awesome art! It really depends on the artist, not the program. The only thing is, each program is slightly different or uses very different techniques to form shapes, different lightings, etc. CGtalk forum has lots of art from both 3DMax and Maya.

For example, I have another 3-D program called Animation Master. It can create very detailed stuff like Maya, but uses splines (think of lines) to make complex shapes. I am more used to Maya and Cinema-4-D, which uses basic pre-made shapes which you can morph and combine, instead. Alot less work, basically, though not necessarily easier.

Technically, a 3D movie is four dimensional as it is made in the normal three dimensions and time. Which why Cinema 4D is called what its called, seeing as it focuses on movie-making. Now Cinema 5D.... that would be confusing... probably would mean interactive movies, now that I come to think of it

I haven't used either much though, I tend to stick to what I know and love - 3DSM

Well, there are lots of 3-D applications out there that have simliar names, so I'm just asking.

Anyway, how are you doing this summer, Gamer? Anything new happen?

I just stay in my hometown, except for the occasional visit to Indianapolis, or Chicago.

Basically other than that I only go to the library or the school park and sit and do nothing.

Oh yes, and watch movies I've seen ten times over.
