I'm currently listening to Electioneering by Radiohead from the album OK Computer which was released in 1997. I'd say this is my favorite Radiohead album. smile.gif

Anyway, when posting, please try to comment the song that you're listening to.

A little edit here by me, I've closed several other threads, if this turns into a one liner posting spree, I'll also close this. though discussing music here is perfectly fine.

Right now I'm listening to an online radio station called All Metallica. So you can probably guess which band it's all about.

And the song currently played is Until it sleeps. user posted image

Radiohead... thats like a metal(punk) band right? kvright.gif

But me... I've listened to Emery the entire trip on my plane.

Ok listen up. You can discuss music in here, but simply posting "artist - track" is not acceptable. We've got enough spam as it is. So discuss music, or this will get locked quicker than you can say "spam".

Yes oh great devil, I mean Administrator Stargelman.

Who else listens to Weezer in here? Right now I'm listening to "In the Garage".
Sinder Velvin
I'm listening to Radiohead again, this time to the COM LAG EP. Have already gotten to the third track, I Will. Not a bad song, but it feels very different from most of their other stuff. Different in a bad way. indifferent.gif

Does anyone here listen to Radiohead? If so, what are your favorite songs/singles/EPs/albums? While I'm at it, does anyone listen to The Libertines, The Verve, Blur, Coldplay, The Smashing Pumpkins, Oasis and/or Smash Mouth?

Eh... I don't like those music replacers too much. As far as I know, their creators just take some songs from a couple of games and then they make one large .mp3 file out of them.

'Home' by Dream Theater.

Really amazing song by an amazing band.

the music is advanced, the lyrics are intelligent, John Petrucci (their guitarist) is my hero...

Good choices, SV... I would listen Radiohead myself, but ever since I head that little breakdo... err, a slight case of depression while listening to OK COMPUTER (really, "Let Down" is one sad song sad.gif) I try to concentrate on more agressive sounds. At this moment I am having "Die, Allright!" from the freneticomenal swedish punkers The Hives on continual loop ph34r.gif see, there are some great 'hard option' bands that come from Sweden, like Hives, Apocaliptica or Entombed... completely in contrast to the stereotype of 'cold' nordic nations.
As for the other tracks at this moment I am wheeling P.O.D, Shane & The Popes, a pinch of NIN, a bit of Stokes, a bit of The White Stripes (so sad, really, I missed them at EXIT music festival here sad.gif(() and some of that good old Pumpkin sound... "The World Is A Vampire", SV, indeed.

I am currently listening to Enter Sandman by Metallica, one of my favourite songs. Anyone else like Metallica? And yes Rane, I know you do

I like Metallica. "Master of Puppets' is my favorite song by them.

On Metallica - why does everyone say that they sold out? I call it "Changing Styles"....

Right now I'm listning to Iron Maiden - Aces High, not such a bad band IMO. Watched their concert not such a long time ago on swedish TV.. wink.gif

Rammstein AND Metallica... so, Minque, you're not at all a softie we all thought you were ? biggrin.gif
Right now I am listening to irish-american punk-rock band The Dropkick Murphys and one certain song really gets me in the right place (or, rather, wrong place) - it is Bastards On Parade, a song of losss and failure and broken hopes; listen:

I've lost all the time that I have in this world
I've spent it unwisely, unwisely you see
And I can't get it back and I can't move forward
I'm broken and I'm empty, it's over for me

If I could undo all the wrongs that I've caused
Fall to my knees, pray for swiftness and just
For I'm just a fool, a fool driven to dust
And the world ain't gonna change for me

So give me one more chance to prove these problems and frustrations
Aren't just manifest in memories we're destined to repeat
A second chance to prove I know right from wrong
I swear I'll do things different but can't promise to be strong

So come all you losers, you bastards and cheats
Vagrants and barflies down on the street
Follow this path to salvation, vindication awaits
We're marching on East Broadway tonight

If you could look into this old face and try to see the young man
I swear I once was pretty, not the monster you now see
But I squandered all my chances, lost my faith and took for granted
This life and precious one chance, the whirlwind I'll wreak

If I could undo all the wrongs that I've caused
Fall to my knees, pray for swiftness and just
For I'm just a fool, a fool driven to dust
And the world ain't gonna change for me

So come all you losers, you bastards and cheats
Vagrants and barflies down on the street
Follow this path to salvation, vindication awaits
We're marching on East Broadway tonight

A softie she's not! Although I for one consider Metallica to be still somewhat tame.

Most of the time, I'm more in the mood for Fear Factory or Sepultura. I don't like most death metal tho. Too screamy biggrin.gif

I am Not???? blink.gif

Nooo of course I´m the hardest female around..... smile.gif

Death metal is really horrible.....no I have recently listened to some music the guys here recommended or rather told they like..such as Ursula100, and Radiohead, and that broadened my music-taste quite a bit......

then I also like VNV-Nation, and Wumpscut......Welle Erdball, Deine Lakaien, Covenant, PAIN, and so on.....a lot of germans i know, but since i am half german so may that be..

Besides i have a daughter who introduce me to a lot of very good music as well...

I have never, ever been able to acquire a taste for any sort of 'Metal' music, oddly enough mellow.gif Which is strange, seeing as almost everyone I know listens to it wink.gif Even AC/DC starts to jar after a few moments, and that's not half as bad as Metallica. I guess my ears are just too sensitive to this kind of thing laugh.gif It still remains even more incomprehensible than rap to me.

That said, I listen to practically everything else, from classical to jazz to rock to pop with a particular passion for anything French tongue.gif My regular playlists generally include things along the likes of Mylene Farmer, Nigel Kennedy, Francis Cabrel, Michael Nyman, Miles Davis, Pink Floyd and other, equally mixed about artists; all set to 'shuffle' blink.gif
Wolfie
Right now i'm Listening to Cemetery Drive, by My Chemical Romance. A lot of people seem to hate, them, but i like their music. Maybe i'm just weird
Fuzzy Knight
Listning to Audioslave - Show me how to Live, was also one of the bands that played on the Quartfestival 2005 here in Norway. Dont like much of their songs, but they have some real good ones biggrin.gif
Chumbaniya
I'm not listening to anything at the moment, but this morning I found one of those rubbish compilations you get with newspapers sometimes and I kept listening to "Piano Man" by Billy Joel and "Poison" by Alice Cooper (it was one wierd compilation, I can tell you). As for metal, I think that Metallica is the only metal I enjoy. Everything else I've heard gets a little too shouty/screamy for me, but metallica does have some good riffs and well put together songs. However, I still prefer classical stuff, especially Beethoven, Bach, Vaughn Williams and various others.

If you haven't done so yet, you should definitely check out Appocalyptika then. They're right in the middle between Metallica and classic music! Weird, but good.

I for one am listening to some Grieg's Peer Gynt right now. The Hall of the Mountain King reminds me of the olden days when I played Elite all day and night, and the other tracks are just so relaxing. After that, perhaps Mussorgsky's Night on Bald Mountain to wake me up again. Great stuff! If I still have the energy, after that perhaps Brahms' Hungarian Dances.
Burnt Sierra
Well, I've got Agaetis Byrjun by Sigur Ros playing at the minute. Nice and atmospheric. Lights off, candles on, wine opened and sitting here ready to unwind.

Welle Erdball...only know one of their songs from a compilaiton, it was rather good though: "Verlieb dich in mich".

Ursula 1000 is actually from Boston, I believe.

Oooooh, Phear Factory biggrin.gif Burton C. Bell, the vocal martyr... nastyyy !

Right now I am listening to first LP by those snobish GORILLAZ (yeah, I know... I am so lame tongue.gif) - still, Albarn's vocals here are sweet, they indicate that he almost had fun making all those songs for his virtual band.
Fuzzy Knight
Now I'm listning to Big Bang - From Acid to Zen and back Again, its a norwegian rock band. Very good songs and very good playing live.. Thought they have much of those soft rocks and stuff I like listning to From Acid to Zen... because its much more rocky tongue.gif And very nice tone to it too.. wink.gif

Really good, at least if u want to try out norwegian bands wink.gif
Kell-Reevor
Right now I'm not listening to anything. But I am playing Fear Factory- Replica in my head at the moment.

I usually enjoy listening to the 'bang your head till it bleeds' type of rock (might explain my personality). I do enjoy the older metallica tracks, and also have a thing for black sabbath and ozzy.

BTW minque... Rammstein? YOU FREAKIN RULE! biggrin.gif They're another of my favorites. I can'y understand what they are saying but you don't have to.
Fuzzy Knight
Now I'm listning to Foo Fighters - Next Year, wasn't long ago where I found their new album 'In Your Honor' very cheap so bought it, many good songs wink.gif
Soulseeker3.0
I'm listening to Banana phone from Newgrounds.com tongue.gif it's funny as heck well its more of a movie with a stupid tune attached to it but none the less I like it.
Konji
I'm listening to some Satriani and Vai things. They are some of the best guitarists ever. Did really good with G3 I think. Greenday are good also...powerchords rock.
Red
Just listened to little ghost by the white stripes, now listening to my hollywood by the hives. Also, how is Dream theatre's new cd? Is it worth buying even if I barely know of them? I keep hearing from my friends that it's awesome.

Those are probably two of my favourites biggrin.gif. The five-bar riff which sanitarium is build on is very interesting, as is the middle section of master of puppets (I really should fish out the guitar tabs for master of puppets, I've been meaning to learn the lead part to the central section for a while now, since I know the rest of it. Not that I could actually play the proper solo part wink.gif)
Konji
What guitar do you have chumby?
Fuzzy Knight
I have a el-guitar up at my room.. smile.gif Dont play it that much thought, but its fun.. tongue.gif
Konji
Is that as Swedish guitar?

It's not particularly good - just something for me to start on - A yamaha RX something-or-other, if I remember rightly (and I probably don't). Cost me about £180. Still, it's better than some of the other starter level stuff like the Squier strats *cringe*. The amp is total pants though, it's just a 10 watt practise amp. I was meaning to get myself a snazzy new Vox one, but I thought I'd just keep the cash. I play the piano more anyway.
Konji
Get a crybaby pedal. They are apparently the best wah-wahs out.

RX seems to be a home theater system... ohmy.gif

Ehh hmmmI do actually and you should try to get the texts translated....they really rule
Kell-Reevor
Sounds good, but after I heard the translated Du Hast and Engel, I decided they sound much better in German.
minque
Oh yes by all means, they must be sung in German..otherwise it make no sense, but what I meant was that you shuould, for your joy, have them translated as texts
Chumbaniya
On the subject of Rammstein (whom I actually quite like), has anyone heard the Rammstein version of "I'm a Barbie Girl"? It's hilarious!
