It is interesting how you guys interpret the term "milk drinker". In my vocabulary it's a swear word meaning "coward". ohmy.gif This is also the way the Nords use it, both in Morrowind's Blood Moon and in TES5 Skyrim (as far as I recall).

Also, there's only one meaning of "cornfed" that I know - and that's a corn-fed chicken. Not exactly flattering either... laugh.gif

I wonder, do people actually roleplay characters that could be considered “milk drinkers”? How would one even do this? Literally nothing in the game would get done because your character wouldn’t be going on adventures or getting into fights and what not.

I know at least person did a pacifist run-through of one of the single-player TES games. They found enough non-combat quests to make progress and/or had companions and hirelings do the dirty work.

In Oblivion it was possible to gain 100% damage reflection, so your enemies would kill themselves by attacking you. The problem was getting all that gear together without fighting for it.

Another consideration is whether milk is available as a drink. Morrowind critters were mostly bugs, so supplies were suspect. Skyrim has cattle, and milk. Oblivion might have needed COBL.

You could sit around a mead hall and see how much mead you could drink before you fell over... laugh.gif

But actually, Ghastley is right: learn Conjuration and have your Fred the Skellie do all the work. Or something along those lines. It's quite a challenge, to be sure!

Within the context of the TES games I would not consider my character to be a milk-drinker. Yes, even though his companions and summoned auxiliaries do most of the fighting and he’d rather stand back and take pictures, he is more than capable and willing to step into the melee and have a little fun.

Thank you. Am glad I resurrected it too. 🍼 Nice to see Jan and all your Skyrim/Stormcrow recreations in one place.

Khajiit forgot his own character's name!

Yes, cornfed has a couple different meanings in the States. I think originally it pertained to animals, but over the decades farming communities began equating "cornfed" humans to healthy & maybe strong.

"milk drinker" brings up Skyrim references at Urban Dictionary. cool.gif ".... often used by City Guards to suggest a person is weak and / or young / inexperienced."

Yes.

I can't answer for others, but for me, it's not like I intentionally set out to make a character who's going to turn out this way. laugh.gif The Milk Drinker traits (whatever they are) just sort of develop as I get to know my characters over time.

In Cyrodiil there are supposed to be cows; they're mentioned in lore somewhere. 🐄 Cows can also be seen in Daggerfall. But you're correct, not in Morrowind. I'd assume not in Elsweyr or Black Marsh.

I agree. Jandaga is not a milk drinker. nono.gif But you've had plenty other characters macole, certainly some of them could fit whatever definition you're coming up with.

It was 2011-early 2012, cut me some slack! laugh.gif

Well, milk doesn't have to come from cows, per se. Sheep, goats, mammoths, zebras, camels - they are all good too! There are plenty of sheep in Cyrodiil, and of course there's cheese, so there must be milk somewhere too (I don't believe they milk women for it - yuck!!!).

In TES5 giants make mammoth cheese - that's made with mammoth milk. Mammoths are like big cows, really.

So in Elsweyr you could have camel milk if there were any camels... but I think they have other animals like zebras, don't they? And elephants... hmm... they are mammals... but I don't think anyone gets to milk them, frankly.
ghastley
Good point that cheese implies milk. So we know that Bastien is not likely to be a milk drinker. Does Sheogorath, and his cheese obsession, relate to this question? Is milk the on-ramp to cheese and madness?
Acadian
Grrr, Sheo-dweeb gives cheese a bad name!

Lena: indeed. True milk =/= cowmilk. In real life I love rice milk sometimes, especially this one brand that provides vanilla rice milk. smile.gif Can't do soy milk though. I don't like the texture.

On the reflective; the outfit you start the game in weighs almost nothing and can be enchanted (sandals, pants, shirt, and shackles) - plus you can get two zero weight Dark Brotherhood outfits and one zero weight Dark Brotherhood cowl for enchanting and since they weigh little or nothing they were easy to carry around for "just in case I need it" uses. One set could be invisible; one reflective, etc. Easy to enchant with the Wizard's Tower DLC.

On the milk jugs er...drinking = after seeing all Ghastley's buxom women; I would say they are most def milk drinkers, rollinglaugh.gif

Err... Rice milk and soy milk is not actually milk... wink.gif

By "milk" I mean the substance secreted by mammal females for the purpose of feeding their young. biggrin.gif And soy beans had no nipples last time I checked.
