While we wait for Sub, here´s another ode

----------
Ode to Mud CrabMudcrab, oh mudcrab
hated are thou
Though you make me bow
Mudcrab, oh mudcrab
sharp is your claw
It is without flaw
Mudcrab, oh mudcrab
tasty is your meat
Over your feet
Mudcrab, oh mudcrab
you creak as you go
down with the flow
Away from your foe

--------------
Ode to M´aiqA feline who runs really fast,
he certainly won´t finish last
M´aiq is his name!
His Infamy´s lower than his Fame
They call him "the Liar",
and yes, he is not a friar
He speaks weird stuff,
his language; a bit rough
He says hands are for slapping,
and sometimes for clapping
If you want him to talk,
it´s useless him stalk
He runs and leaves you behind,
with little or no words to find
He appears everywhere!
But where is his lair?
In Morrowind, Cyrodiil or Skyrim perhaps?
To bring forth the truth, be sure to use FRAPS

And sad

And gruesome
What I´m trying to say; very good mALX!

-----
The second one just as good or even better! That one should have preceeded the first one though

You capture great feelings with those lines! Someone who cannot hurt the one he used to call "friend"..

Fabulous poems mirocu! I really like ones that are not too long, rhyme and make complete sense - yours nail it on all counts!
I still remember when you first sent the poem about Buffy to her. She didn't know whether to spin around like a top or cry tears of joy; I think she did both.

Maxims for the Misguided (Original post
Here)
I. Most people would rather starve
for what isn’t theirs than care
about what they already have,
choosing to waste their lives
wishing for what
they don’t.
II. A tadpole
whose legs
never grow
won’t miss what it’s like
to hop.
III. There’s a darkness between
the stars and it wants to
swallow you
whole, but
you can still see
the moon
almost every single night.
IV. While the sun melts
the snow to let the flowers grow,
a man
burns the
haystack
in search of a
needle.
V. And the salmon
never
stops
fighting
the current.

Poem I threw together today. Super duper mega alpha first draft, but whatevs, fam.
The Reasonable Man
Let us examine the reasonable man:
His hair is dark, as are his eyes
He is of average height and average build
He is not ugly, nor is he particularly handsome
He was educated well, at a good school
A diligent student, he graduated from a respectable university
He is intelligent, witty and of a good nature
He works for the government,
He is honest in his work,
He is looked upon favourably by his superiors and colleagues, and none speak ill of him
When he returns from work, he greets his wife with a kiss and his children with an embrace
He will help wash up after dinner
He will help his children do their homework
On some days, he will drive his son and daughter to school
He is a loving husband and responsible father
If one were to ask the reasonable man which department he works for, he would say his job concerns the enforcing of the law
This is true, for the law is very important to him, as it is to all reasonable men
If one were to press the reasonable man for details, he would say that he works in a role similar to that of a judge
This is also true
Let us observe the reasonable man as he goes about his day:
He arrives at work in his respectably priced, practical car
He greets his colleagues, exchanges small talk, goes to his office, sits at his desk
On his desk a picture of his family, as well as a file
He reads the file. He makes notes. After some time, he comes to a decision.
He calls one of his colleagues, and explains his decision
He rises from his desk, and goes to the courtyard that resides at the back of his office
There, he meets a group of his workmates
They are from another department, but they all work for the same government
The subjects of the file are lead into the courtyard
Their hands are tied together with rope
Black bags are placed over their heads
They are thin
They have been beaten
This is because they are not reasonable people
The reasonable man does not hate them
Instead he pities them
He pities the defects of thought that lead them astray
He pities the fact that they cannot be reasonable as he is
He pities their ultimate fate
He will not stop it, however
The penalty has been agreed upon by reasonable men like himself
It is one that, while he may dislike, he understands
It is reasonable
The reasonable man nods to his colleagues
They form a line
The rifles they raise speak the madness of reasonable men who believe they are doing the right thing
Afterwards, as the bodies are cleared away, the reasonable man shares a cigarette with the soldiers and jokes with them
He congratulates them on their good work, and shakes the hands of some
It is a normal part of his job, and one that is well done
Afterwards, he drives home
He greets his wife and children
There is little to say about his day
His day was perfectly ordinary
He is the reasonable man
Fear him.

Yesterday they celebrated mothers
Gifts for me and all the others
Cards and hugs, lots of flowers
Talking on the phone for hours
Remembering my own Mom for all she's done
Being remembered by my own precious ones
Between calls and visits and before going to sleep
the memories of their births and early lives run deep
Look at them now, they've grown to men
And next year they'll pay tribute to me once again
Each in their own special way
Oh how I love Mother's Day!

Just a short one this time. It´s dedicated to Niamh and I thought I had posted it here but it seems I haven´t.
Ode to NiamhWhen everything is said and done,
in Niamh´s world; not all is fun.
A troubled mind, no freedom found,
her hands and feet were tightly bound.
The Great Escape; she took the bait,
and made her way towards her fate.
Farewell, Niamh

I've written an incredibly deep and thought provoking poem about taxes.
Humpty Dumpty constructed a wall,
but didn't pay taxes,
no taxes at all.
Now old Humpty just sits in his cell,
staring at concrete,
his existence is hell.
