Lexie smiled at Karelia, she had the experience that if you smile to someone unknown, he might hesitate to kill you for just the second you need to try to escape..
"Well a cigarrette would be great, if you can spare one....oh and I have a contribution as well!" She took out a bottle of whisky from her pack..
"I ...I kinda like whisky..." she mumbled.."For medical reasons of course..but..ah nevermind!"
Lexie lit the cigarrette Karelia handed her and inhaled the smoke, looking very content
"Hmm I probably didn't introduce myself very well..I'm Lexie Grey, but don't ask me where I'm from, because I don't know..ehh don't remember, all I know is that I once lived in a vault....somewhere!"

Karelia
Karelia found that while she felt a bit sorry for Lexie and her apparent amnesia, she was also jealous. Jet provided a temporary relief from her constant struggles, but nothing as permanent or therapeutic as pure forgetfulness. Karelia found her mind wandering, thinking about how different she might be if her past had all been forgotten.
Too bad it's all still there.
She tossed her cigarette butt to the ground and stamped it out with her foot.
"I can't imagine what's takin' so long," she began, "I swear this guy was just waiting for us when we first came in, now I guess nobody can find him."
She wondered if she should crawl back under the gate before Gale did come.

Gale strode toward them, his shotgun slung over his shoulder, carrying Autumn's bolt-action rifle in his left hand.

She was confused for a very short moment when she heard a high-pitched 'ping' from the gate behind her. She suddenly understood when she heard the report of a rifle in the distance. Someone had fired at them and missed.
"Get down!" she said to Lexie and Jonathan. She crouched behind the refrigerator machine and loaded a magazine into her rifle.
"You both have guns, right?" It seemed like a dumb question as soon as she asked. Who traveled the wastes without a weapon?

"Get down!" Karelia shouted all of a sudden as she and Lexie dove behind Frigerizer Z. Jonathan took one last sip of his beer with a raised eyebrow.
"Down? Why do y..." His question was cut off by a fountain of dust erupting at his feet.
"Yikes!" He muttered as he joined the two women.
"You both have guns, right?" Karelia said, already loading her own. It hadn't been a question, more like a statement. Lexie reluctantly admit that she did not, while Jonthan patted a bulge under his tattered labcoat with a grin.
"Why, I do have one. A fine weapon, one as lethal as the finger pulling the trigger." He boasted, pulling out the tiny .38 pistol as a pair of rounds impacted the bulk of the mobile refrigerator. In an instant, Jonathan's grin was gone, replaced by a scowl of pure rage.
"MY BABY!! YOU DARE TO HURT MY BABY?!!!" He roared, leaping out of cover and pointing his pistol in the general direction of the wastelands. He hadn't actually figured out yet where exactly the shots were coming from or who was shooting but at the moment, he didn't care.
"No one hurts FRIGERIZER Z and gets away with it! NO ONE!" He yelled and pulled the trigger. The answer was the sound of a hammer tapping an empty chamber, and a bullet taking off the man's hat.
Jonathan's anger had vanished as quickly as it had appeared.
"Oh, well that could have gone better. So umm...hi, mind if I join you two again?" He mumbled as he got back behind cover. He looked at his hat lying on the ground and sighed.
"So much for a perfect day."

And I thought I was crazy. she thought to herself, wondering how she got into this situation. Her only help wasn't really much help at all. A girl with no weapon, and a crazy man with a useless one. She did genuinely like them both, though, despite their shortcomings. She just hoped they'd all live to laugh about it in a few minutes.
She rested her rifle on top of the machine and took a quick look at their opponents. Raiders. Nasty, disgusting, vile, raiders. She fired a shot and one fell to the ground, but the return fire forced her to get completely behind cover again.
Karelia pulled a pistol from her belt. She held the barrel, extending the handle to Lexie, who crouched beside her.
"If they get close," she explained. They were probably going to. There was no way that she could pick all of them off before they did.

The stuttering buzz of an energy weapon led an undertone to the high crack-crack of the Raider's rifles, as a glittering ruby cresent carved through the night, lighting the air with crimson flashes as she fired again and again, ranging shots as she depressed the trigger with both fingers.
Using this blaze of burning light as a cover, she rolled behind a fallen tree, letting the returned shots thunk into the thick wood, or scatter into the air above her head. Eyes alight with cold amusement, she waved at the others hiding behind the strange boxy thing.

At first, she was taken by surprise by the sudden appearance of lasers cutting through the air. Upon finding its source, though, she heaved a great sigh of relief.
"It's a friend," she assured Jonathan.
She felt a bit sorry for the man's contraption, as it was getting pummeled with bullets. Better it than them, but there was so much fire being concentrated on them, she couldn't even get a chance to fire another shot.
Another joined the fight, this time it was the single guard atop the gate. It was a young man, and not an excellent shot, but she appreciated the effort. Maybe it could buy her a few seconds to finally get a bullet flying. It did, and the guard even took down a raider of his own.
She poked her head up, scoped in and fired. Another raider's head exploded, and she laughed as she ducked back down behind the fridge machine. Her laughing stopped though, when the guard fell to the ground outside the gate.

The guard had fallen nearby, and Karelia was stretching to reach his gun. It was an assault rifle, and she figured someone could use it. Probably not Lexie, judging by her reactions. She seriously considered taking her pistol back.
"Not the time," she said, in a poor attempt to calm Lexie. Karelia was never good at those types of things.
Her task was difficult, as she was trying to stay behind the protection of Jonathan's vehicle while still getting to the rifle. She got a hold on the guard's boot and dragged his body closer. She could reach the gun, but couldn't pull it free from the death grip it was caught in.
"Persistent bugger," she commented to herself.
After a few yanks, it finally came free and she tossed the thing to Jonathan. There probably weren't too many cartridges left in it, but some was better than none.
"Sorry," she said with a shrug to Lexie. She knew the girl probably didn't want the body closer to them, but there really weren't many options right now. She waited for Linda to fire again and give her another free second.

"Relax, it's all going to be fine. Now please point that pistol elsewhere, milady. I believe that it's lacking a safety feature." He spoke, while watching Karelia wrestle with the guard's rifle from the corner of his eyes.
When she finally got it free and tossed it over to him, he clumsily caught it with his free hand.
"Now milady, there is nothing left to worry about. FRIGERIZER Z is as durable as a concrete wall and there is no way they're going to get through with what they have, not at this distance. We're perfectly safe here. So umm....mind to let go for a moment so I can try out this gun?"
He turned his attention away from Lexie to inspect the rifle for a moment. It was a crude weapon, he concluded, and quite in need of some repairs, lots of cleaning and a few upgrades.
"With the right tools, I bet I could turn it into a fully automatic grenade launcher with water-balloon tracer rounds." He mumbled. Still, it would work for now. He popped open the firing chamber.
"I've got three rounds, here. How much do you have, milady Karelia?"

When the thought registered in her head that Karelia and the other two people were outside her eyes widened slightly and she looked at Autumn and Gale in alarm. "They need help, I think some super mutants or Raiders are outside the gate."
"They?" Gale asked curiously, raising an eyebrow.
"Karelia and the two travelers at the gate. C'mon!" Hannah knew it probably wasn't the best idea for her to order Gale around, but she cared about the people outside's survival. Both followed close behind Hannah; when they reached the gate, Gale used the winch to raise the gate high enough for them to simply duck under.

Jonathan winced as more bullets hammered his machine and gripped the rifle a bit tighter. When Lexie let go of him, he did not hesitate, nor did he wait to see what she would do. He simply dropped flat on the ground and took aim.
"At their current distance, and taking into account the specifications of both bullet and rifle, I should be able to fire at their location from beneath FRIGERIZER Z's undercarriage. Though it will be close." He explained, though he wondered if he could even be heard over the cacaphony of metal striking metal.
"Man, I'm glad they built those pre-war refrigerators to last." He thought as he closed one eye, took aim and fired his first shot, grunting as the butt of the rifle slammed painfully into his shoulder. The bullet hit a tree a good six metres from the raiders, snapping off a branch before ricocheting into the ground.
"Ok...a tad more to the left and..." His monologue was cut off as some of the raiders began to drop and others turned their attention elsewhere.
"Bloody good shot, lady Karelia. We might just send them running if we keep it up." He cheered. But then he realised that the effects he'd observed were nothing like her rifle would cause.
"Wait a second." He muttered, just as something on a ballistic arc soared into the raider's position.
"Did you just do that, lady Lexie? Geez, now I'm the one who's getting scared." He continued, shaking his head while the grenade went off.

Lexie went from one extreme to another in a matter of seconds. Both got people killed. Lexie was making a target of herself, firing repeatedly while completely exposed. The smoke grenade offered a brief reprieve from most raider fire, though there were still bullets flying. Karelia waited until Lexie went to reload before tackling her to the ground and wrestling the gun away.
"Nice shots," she said to Lexie with a wink, "Try takin' 'em from back here next time."
She saw blood on the ground, and didn't know if it was her own or Lexie's. Either way, it meant they got out of the open at just the right time. She began checking herself for bullet holes; it wasn't uncommon for people to take bullets while hopped up on jet and not realize there was a problem for hours. Aidan
Aidan had followed Sam out of the bar taking the remains of the whiskey in one hand. Gunfire sounded from outside the gates, he ran towards them not really caring if Sam followed. Karelia had been gone a while, he wandered how much she had to do with it. Not that it bothered him.
The gate was raised just enough to duck under. They're arrogant enough then,[i] he thought, [i]I like it. He ducked under then dived to the side as more shots erupted. He looked around and realised the shots weren't aimed at him, just the drink making him a little jumpy. He took another swig to calm his nerves. At least no one had seen. Thick smoke blossomed from a grenade in front of him. The mixture looked like it could do with a bit more soda to him. He pushed the thought aside. There was some device the side with people crouching behind it. One might have been Karelia. She could look after herself though.
He felt one of the three grenades he had on him. The smoke was far to thick though, he needed a clearer idea of where to throw. He ran round the side of it keeping low in cover. The attackers were mainly using rifles, almost certainly raider scum. He paused behind a large rock, it would be ideal once the smoke had cleared a little. He took another sip of whiskey before putting down the bottle and pulling out the pin. There was another burst of fire, much nearer. Too close in fact, they could only be just inside the smoke. He judged the distance, this was going to require a little cooking off. He let the lever up just before he threw.

Thick white smoke was rolling across the battlefield, and Sam couldn't see where the targets were. Obviously they were far away, rendering his trusty combat shotgun useless. "Hey, what the?!" Jonathan yelled in surprise, pulling back his hand in a hurry. For a second he thought that one of the raiders had taken the opportunity to get around their cover and kill them from up close but when he looked up, he saw a blonde man aiming over the top of Frigerizer with a large gun.

She was reminded of Aidan's presence when a grenade exploded. With a peek over the top of the FRIGERIZER, she could see through the thinning smoke that the raiders were nearly all dead. One of them she thought she could hit, were her hands not full holding back blood flow.

Karelia found that her pistol was in her hand, ready to fire. With a deep breath, she made a conscious effort to put it back in her belt.
Ugh, she's lucky a whole militia here's got her back. If this was any other place, any other time, that girl would be dead and I'd be laughing.
"That one's yours, right?" she asked Gale, though she pointed at Autumn, "Well keep that doggie on a shorter leash, 'cause if she tries to nip at me again I ain't gonna play nice. She'll get put down."
It was a fair enough warning in her mind, though she hoped that Gale took it as a warning and not a threat. She didn't think it really mattered though; she had a sneaking suspicion that after this little incident she wasn't staying in Haven anymore.

Jonathan GunthersonJonathan bent down and picked up a rifle that had fallen on the ground.
"Oh sweet, this baby's got a scope, and a mount for attaching bayonets! Just wait till I mount those on my pistol. Oh yeah." He said to himself with mad glee. Just then, he heard an odd explosion behind him. Surprised and with eyebrows raised, he turned to see what all the ruckus was about.
"Wuh, I thought we were done with the fighti....FRIGERIZER Z!!! No, my friend! What have they done to you?!" He screamed as he saw the flames licking at the machine's wrecked hulk.
"Who did this?!! I swear, I´ll tear their freaking heads of their skulls and feet it to their toads! I spent years building it!!! Now answer me! WHO!!!! DID!!!! THIS!!!!!` He raged, holding the rifle at the barrel and waving it at random people.
OOC± Yeah, he´s pissed and not sane enough to take a look at the situation and figure out who the culprit is, or that she´s got the entire militia behind her. And my keyboard is messing up all of a sudden. ~ that tilde was a plus/sign and the slash was a normal line.

Hannah
When Auntumn's grenade exploded under the refridgerator Hannah was close enough to be thrown back. When she finally rose a little shakily to her feet, she saw Karelia and Jonathan looking utterly pissed and Autumn walking off a little hatefully.
"You okay Karelia?" A man asked who she assumed was the leader of Karelia's small group of companions asked. The ex-Raider didn't respond but continued to stare after Autumn. Hannah shook her head slowly. Gale needed to watch Autumn more carefully if he expected her to live through all the people that hated her. Which among those seemed to be Karelia now. And me, seeing as she's pissed me off badly a few times before this, Hannah thought to herself.

Aidan
When the last raider fell Aidan stood and went to loot the fallen. He was rifling through the pockets of a laser burnt corpse when there was an explosion. Instinctively he dropped, Grenade, frag, probably local made, he thought and glanced up. It had gone off by the strange fridge-based thing Karelia had been behind and by the looks of it had been thrown by one of the local militia. He pulled out his 10mm and cocked it with his mutilated right hand then walked deliberately over to the contraption.
When he got there the other man who had been scavenging was waving a rifle around and shouting. He glanced and saw that, other than some scrapes, Karelia had been lucky. He stepped up to the militia and pulled out a grenade. “Is there a problem here?” he asked, pushing his right index finger though the pin.

Gale
"Irene, take care of things here." He ordered, storming after Autumn back into Haven. Seeing him going after Autumn, Ethan stopped and went back to help the other responders. Gale slowed his pace once he crossed under Haven's gate. No longer actively pursuing his daughter, the militia captain simply trailed her through the streets, gradually closing the distance.
By the time he reached Autumn's side, Gale was mentally prepared to be patient with her. He cleared his throat, knowing that Autumn was fully aware of his presence already. When she remained silent, Gale spoke up. "It seems that.... Karelia is no longer running with the raiders."
Autumn swallowed, then gazed meaningfully to her father. "A raider umbrella seller is a raider umbrella seller until the day it's a dead raider umbrella seller."
Gale considered the sad truth to that commentary, the traits that made the raiders what they were, unadulterated self-interest and a callous disregard for human life, were difficult things to abandon. Those that survived in this world were generally too embedded in that marauding mindset to ever truly coexist with other human beings.
"We have no prove she provoked the other raiders to attack Haven." He said after a while. "But whatever happens, you are not going to be involved." Gale stared Autumn in the eyes to emphasize his point. "Autumn, as a member of Haven's militia, you have a responsibility to it's citizens. And that responsibility is more than killing raiders, understand?"
She stopped walking and scrutinized the floor. "Yes, I understand. But she needs to be dealt with."
They locked eyes for a moment, finally Gale replied. "The patrols out in the city could use some help; for now, I want you to lend them a hand."
Autumn nodded, it wasn't the first time she'd been patrolling out in Detroit. Gale knew she perferred scavenging in the ruins to skulking around Haven's streets. It would also distance her from the situation here. Compared to the travelers, Gale was certain Autumn would be safer in Detroit.

Jonathan Guntherson
No one dared reply to him, repulsed by the mad gleam in his eyes. If it came to violence, there was little doubt that Jonathan would be taken down. But in his current state, it would take some effort and there was no telling who he might injure with his rifle.
Still too furious to contemplate the situation, Jonathan stomped towards the militia group.
"Answer me! Who the hell dared touch my FRIGERIZER?!!" He screamed.
"Tell me already, you bunch of mute silent rhodents!" Apparantly realizing that the weapon he was holding was a slugthrower and not a club, he shifted his grip and now levelled the barrel into the general direction of the group.
"The one who'd done this had better step forward or I swear, I'm going to splatter all your filthy tongues over the walls here! You damn cowards, attacking a defenseless super robot of awesome!! THAT!!! WAS!!! MY!!! FRIEND!!!" His finger crept towards the trigger.

Linda
Slipping from where she sat against the shredded stump, her hand traced it's way along Jonathan's arm, and closed her fingers around his wrist, and she shook her head discouragingly. She paused a moment, looking at the blackened box as a wheel creakily spun on it's bent axle, and stroked the back of the mad-inventor's hand, before pointing at the contraption and back at him accusingly, with another shake of her head.
Her off hand slid down her own side, picking at the buckle over her pistol, yanking it out, and holding it loosely, finger just inside the safetyless trigger-guard.

Karelia
Gale left without an answer, leaving 'Irene' behind to clean up and Jonathan was none too happy about his refrigerator. She thought of trying to calm him, but didn't really know how. What could you say to someone this upset about their refrigerator? Luckily, Linda seemed to handle it, and didn't even need to say anything.
Karelia was tired and angry, her hands were still red with Lexie's blood, her entire body was covered in grime from the explosion, her ears were ringing, and to top it all off, she found a white shard of FRIGERIZER lodged in her forearm.
"I need to sit down," she said mostly to herself and found a spot on the ground next to the wall. With a curse reserved for 'militia girl' Karelia pulled the shrapnel from her arm and winced. It was a minor wound, but still bled a lot so she held the gash with her free hand to stem the flow a bit.

Aidan
Aidan holstered his pistol and returned the grenade to its pouch. He wandered over to the madman Linda was comforting. He seemed to be upset about the blackened remains of a fridge which they had been hiding behind in the gunfire, a wheel hung crookedly from it and oil dribbled like black blood from the bottom.
He nodded to its owner, “It’s a pity,” he said, “But think of how much better it will be once you repair it.” It might help, or not, either way Linda seemed to be managing.
“You alright?” he called to Karelia.
