I have read through some posts and noticed that there are many tall people here. I personally am 14years old and i am 6'3 (185 cm) and still growing. smile.gif
Abu the Cat
I'm not as tall as you, but I'm taller than my History teacher this year, and my Computers teacher last year. I'm a foot under your height, 5' 3 (63 in.).
The Metal Mallet
*sigh* I remember when being 6 feet was considered tall, but now I'm surrounded by people around my height. So I guess I'm at an average height for an 18 year old.
jack cloudy
I am tall, compared to most adults running around at school. Compared to your average child, I'm a bit short. 1,70 metres at 16 years old. I don't seem to be growing any further. Ah well, at least I don't bump my head against the doorframe. biggrin.gif
The Vulture
13 and 5'11
Wolfie
17 and 5ft 11" to 6ft.
Pretty much average height. I don't think i'm gonna be getting any taller though sad.gif
At least i'm already the tallest in my family though biggrin.gif

This is a very unusual topic, so I just have to post: I'm 6'2"
gamer10
Actually the official average is several inches under six feet for American males at least. I'm five-nine.

I still have several years to grow yet though, and I'll probably be able to hit six feet before i stop.
milanius
Not really tall - 5'11" [180cm]
deemu
21 years old 6.2''
minque
Hmm..not that tall.....170cm.....one of YOU translate that into american or english measures! tongue.gif

Well, one foot equals 30.48 cm, and one inch is 2.54 cm. So you'd be approximately 5'7".

My own growth seems to have come to a complete halt now, with me having reached a height of 185 cm / about 6'1". I've been around that height for the last five years now, so I'd say it's highly unlikely that I'll become any taller.
Ibis
Minque is 3 inches taller than me - I am only 5'4" which I think is considered short for a female nowadays.

I used to model junior-petite fashions for young teens when I was in my twenties - so yes, I am short. Gotta just accept it. I would rather be taller. My hubby is 5'11 1/2" and I think there are many advantages to being taller.

I can also see that there are advantages to using the metric system, it seems simpler than feet and inches ... but unfortunately, I don't know metric at all. I guess I could learn it.
The Metal Mallet
Even though at school we use the metric system all the time, I still can't picture people height and people weight/mass in metric. Like a centimetre is so small, and then a metre is big, and then no one uses decimetres so it's hard to see metric measurements on people. A foot just seems like a suitable length, though conversion-wise, Imperial is terrible to work with.

As for grams vs pounds (lbs), it's a little easier since I know that 44lbs is about 20kgs. I know that because the bags of salt I sell have both measurements biggrin.gif
Kayla
I'm 5'6 and 16 years old. I used to think that I was tall for a girl, but I'm the shortest one in my family next to my mom. My 13 year old sister is taller than I am!
vaanic~one
17 and 6'4.
canis216
22 years old, 6 feet tall. In athletics I play bigger, even though I'm not much of a leaper, because I've got an armspan of probably 6'3'' or 6'4''.

Being relatively tall has advantages and drawbacks. Having long arms is almost exclusively useful. My fellow rock climbers get jealous.
Khajiit Overlord Rainer
16 and 6'4''.
Pisces
6'2" and I'm 18/19 (can't let Ibis know which). Being tall has drawbacks? Less balance but long armspan and being able to tower over people totally cancels that out.
Channler
I despise you guys.. I stand at a wee 5'9.5''.. I've always been obsessed with my height and look how short I r.
Soulseeker3.0
I really don't know how tall i am, I don't think i have a heights of a person ruler i could measure myself with and i don't know when my yearly check-up is biggrin.gif so you all'll just have to wait to find out my height.

hrm... on the new Firefox browser it says y'all is technically a grammatically correct word and yet begger isn't
1234king
I am 13 years old and 5"5, which is 5 inches taller then my mom

That's because y'all is a common colloquialism while the correct spelling is beggar.

On topic: I'm still kind of tall. But hey, at least the shorter folks don't have to worry about banging their heads on light fixtures. My grandmother's old place had a couple of low fixtures that my dad and I had to constantly duck.

Not if all the height is in the leg.

It makes it damn tiring to run, becasue it takes a lot of energy to move them then.

Ugh, I'm not tall at all. I DREAM of being six feet. ...Actually, I dream of being *five* feet. I'm 4'10. Which is occasionally nice, but usually sucks. Especially when I need to reach things on top shelves.

On the upside...being 4'10 legally qualifies me as a 'Dwarf.' Sadly, no cool set of Dweemer armour goes along with that designation *sigh* kvright.gif .
Pisces
The dwemer were elf height so you wouldn't fit their armour anyway tongue.gif

Think of it this way: You can use a ladder to get taller.

Rainer can never use anything to make him shorter without permanent damage sad.gif
Pisces
err, you can stand on your knees...

Dammit! See? SEE how the world--even the virtual world--discriminates against people like me?!?!?!

Just kidding wink.gif . Piscies is right though, Rainer...there's always getting on your knees lol. But why would you want to be shorter? I know being tall must get annoying in certain situations, but...overall, if you could be shorter, would you really want to be?

Yeah, I have to duck for some doors, it becomes instinctual though so I don't usually notice.
ShogunSniper
15 years and 6'1". you know what scares me? girls that are as tall/taller than me. it just kinda creeps me out for some reason *shrug* male superiority complex..

Well most girls don't like shorter guys then them.. Its proven.. Cause when I was a little kid and right before my growth spurt (and puberty too) all the girls were getting that cool stuff first and the little girlfriend I had back then told me that I was to short for her... sad.gif
canis216
Disadvantage to tallness: Back problems. Taller folks are more susceptible to them. You younger tall people: do what you can to strengthen your back muscles, before bad stuff happens. Trust me. I couldn't play golf for about 2-3 weeks once because of a back injury--at age 20. It was terrible. I'd sit down for a while, then have the damnedest time standing back up.

not so much be shorter than to be more bodily proportionate.

Rainer's legs are most of his height, and as such, it makes it at pain in the boat to find pants that suit you. kvright.gif

Another problem Rainer has is that he cannot swim. His legs are so long it takes more energy just to move them. So Rainer can barely move 3 meters before he starts to tire. And when He tries to float, they just drag him down like an anchor.

and when you're in the middle Isle on a 16 hour flight, the only thing that goes to sleep is Rainer's legs. sad.gif

Rainer is also slower than some people with shorter legs beacuse his are so long (again with the size issue)

And in places with low roofs...

You get the picture.
Sir Radont
I'm not particularly tall for a 25 year-old male. 5'10"
Shiniku
I'm fifteen and 5'7", so relatively short. But I'm taller than most old women I see, so that's a plus.
Agent Griff
Well I'm 1.82 metres tall. That would equate in about....6 feet. Tall enough. And yes, I do have the problems you all do with knocking my head over low-hanging door-ways and other low things. It's cool to be tall though.
Neck' Thall
Im 16 and 6'1, but I know A guy who is my age who's 6'8
minque
wow..a lot of nice tall guys here! yummy!
Thoron the Hunter
I think its safe to say that im not the tree, im the bush... im 13 years old and 5"3.5'... i'll still grow... my doctor said i will grow up to 5"7' unles i start stretching more sad.gif
Volsung
I am 18 years old and about 6'4". It's really not that great, especially because I'm a bit of a kluts. Yay for tripping over things hitting several things at once, while a short person would probably just hit the ground and not get the corner of a desk shoved into their ribs.
Ola Martin
I am 16 years old and about 6 feet tall... but I doesn't seem to stop streching tongue.gif

well i have long legs and i am the top cross country runner in my high school, i run a 17:23 3-mile
and i set the school record for running a 10:48 two mile.
any way sometimes its hard to hook up with girls cause lots are really short, and every one asks "how tall r u?"

Ps im now 15 and 6'5
Pss there is a girl in my school who is 6'8
Zelda_Zealot
17 and I think a little over six feet. Still got a few growth spurts left though... I love my genes... biggrin.gif

Well, some of them. kvright.gif
1234king
Up untill a little while ago i was 5"5, but now I am a staggering 5"6!!!
Agent Griff
I'm about 184 cm tall, I believe that is somewhere in the area between 6.2 feet and 6.3 feet right? Well, 6.3 sounds better than 6.2 so I'll stick with that. Since I'm 15 years old at the moment, I'm sure I'll keep growing until I'm 18.

The fact that I practice Rugby should also ensure me being a hulking beast of a man in a few years.
jack cloudy
I seem to have stopped growing, now sticking at 1.62 metres. It's taller than a lot of people from the older generation I know, but a heck of a lot shorter than the latest generation. I have a cousin who's 2.5 years younger (15), and he sticks out above me like a fricking giant! Ok, just about a head taller, no need to exaggerate.

If I've done the conversion math right, that's only five feet two inches or so. You're even shorter than I am (5'5"). sad.gif
Zarrexaij
I'm not tall. I'm vertically challenged. I'm 5'2". and 17 (female of course). Ho hum, apparently guys like the petite gals.
