This was the one which I had on my last computer.

Up untill now I had windows default, you can look at it if you want, not very exciting though

And finally my new one, I think it looks better tiled than centred, it is a Petrus Van der Velden painting, he is a Dutch artist who lived in New Zealand, one of my favourites.

Yeah, it shrunk in photobucket. :/

It's an photoeditted screenshot of a painting from Silent Hill 2. I made it uber spiffy.

This was my desktop wallpaper .... user posted imageclick

But this I just couldn't resist .... user posted imagelick

*I don't know how to do this thumbnails thing ... if these are too big I'll switch back to Ripway, I know why they weren't showing now.
Fethenwen
Well, I'm tired of the windows look, so I made a desktop with linux feeling to it evillol.gif

YAAAAAY, BROADBAND !!!
*Mil continues to run arround naked, spilling cheap liquor and running aweh from the police*

Here's mine. I made the ship myself. Honestly, I have no idea why most sci-fi contains ships with ridiculously big guns but hey, at least it breaks up the smooth surface. smile.gif

A lovely Wallpaper but..... Internet Explorer? blink.gif

@Megil Tel-Zeke

Are you using a Mac?

@Pisces & Zarrexaij
I would apreciate if you used Imageshack Tumbnails...
BTW Zarrexaij, where can I find that Wallpaper? I like it wink.gif

@ Ibis
Links not working. Use Imageshack. smile.gif

@ Fethenwen
Nice. I love the Linux Penguin logo biggrin.gif

@Mil
Ah so Broadbrand is finaly becoming a standard in Serbia? Great.
Tip: Give the cheap liquor to the police. They will stop chasing you then. laugh.gif

@jack cloudy
Nice ship Jack smile.gif

@Wolfie
huh.gif It works fine for me and the others. Try again.

@Fuzzy Knight
That's quite a number of shortcuts. Are you really using all of that frequently?
minque
HyPNO! I´m not using my own comp at the moment, it´s broken from being struck by lightning...So what I´m using is a lappy I "borrowed" from my work. At work we have internet explorer as default browser, and I don´t want to download too much on this one because when I return it it has to be clean. Normally I naturally use Mozilla!!!!

And I really like all the desktops here, all of them are nice in my opinion!

Ibis
No, no ... it's not Minque's computer, it's her company's one.

I hope that my desktop pics are visible now. I used the recommended program.

Hmmm, why don't you install Firefox now, and Uninstall it when you need to get it back?

That's very questionable. Opera is faster and more stable than Firefox IMO, but I use Firefox because of it's awesome plugins wink.gif

Are you sure you're uploading a jpg and not a bmp? The size of a JPG should be a LOT smaller. About 120 KB.

I like it. finally someone with a semi-clean desktop.
Wolfie
Well, this is my current desktop, but as when i take a screenshot of the actual desktop it's an ungodly 2.8 or so mb in .jpg form for some reason, i can't host it. So just imagine some icons and whatnot tongue.gif

I think its not too busy... it keeps plenty of room for icons and features one of my favorite pieces of machinery.
Not much else to say I guess.

Woah, that's crazy cool.... cool.gif

Here's mine

Though, I'll have to post another one later, I alternate between two comps (long story), that's of the crappier one I sit at now - the one with (of course) Morrowind, but not Oblivion (I haven't tried, but since Morrowind can strain this at times, I know Oblivion would pwn it... tongue.gif ).

'Tis from a upcoming movie (which, really, has yet to go into production, but is already awesome... biggrin.gif)
Ibis
I just wanted to add that this is my screensaver ... 1MoonAbove ... it shows the same exact phase of the moon that is going on outside your house. You set the coordinates to your longitude and latitude and set the distance view and whether you want to see trees, stars, clouds, etc.

I like it alot, it makes seeing the real moon when you go outside more intimate somehow.
Ibis
Sorry for the double post, although they are ages apart ... but I wanted to make a nice screenshot of my "1 moon above" screensaver yesterday when it was a nice full moon. This screensaver goes along with the real cycle of the moon and shows it from your exact longitude and latitude. I would recommend it for anyone who has an interest in science or nature. Does anyone else have cool screensavers? I used to have Vincent Van Gogh...that one was nice too.

This is my clean desktop. I don't like icons on it.
Ibis
Very nice. Is that your car too? How do you manage not to have the usual computer icon and the other few that seem to be requisite. I see you do have one icon at the top. Does look very nice and clean though.

I wish it was my car. Someday it will be. Whenever I install windowsXP it puts the 'My Computer' icons and everything in the start menu. All I have on the desktop is the recycle bin.
Megil Tel-Zeke
asy way to not have icons on your desktop is to make sure you click "do not add a desktop shortcut" when you install something. and also manually deleting icons. and to get rid of the recycle bin icon just right click on your desktop>arrange icons by> show desktop icons. and voila any icons that were on your desktop dissapear happy.gif.

There's mine. I even found a brand new Symphony X wallpaper, just for you guys.

EDIT: it was way too big, so I shrunk it.
Rane
The current one. The wallpaper is from a package containing a bunch of rendered landscape/planetary views.
Ibis
OH I like that one Rane! What is that a view of? I have never seen such pointed mountains shown on Earth .. is that some planetscape somewhere? Very nice. ohmy.gif

As far as I know, those places don't exist. The picture (and the rest in the pack) are all created with the Terragen program and then modified with Photoshop 7.

You can get the aforementioned wallpaper pack from here.
Zarrexaij
Mine as it is now

I love using my art as backgrounds.
Ibis
OH YEH Zarrexaij!! *Clapping hands wildly in admiration* I recognize your artwork from the FanArt forum. It looks absolutely marvelous as desktop art. That is just perfect.

Thanks for the info Rane & especially for the links. I also love *claps again wildly* the terregan artwork that you've posted in the FanArt forums.

You guys both keep up the good creative work ... biggrin.gif

I think you're mixing me up with someone else. I'm quite sure that I have never created any art (with or without a computer program) that I would have posted online. So, you must me thinking of someone other than me.
Ibis
Yup, I got mixed up. Sorry about that ... it is The Wolf who has done beautiful landscape creations with Terragen. Here below is one of them:

And now for the other one:

Aki's other background

And for the record, some of that stuff isn't mine, this used to be my mother's comp and I have yet to clean the crap she left on it out... tongue.gif

Ibis
Both are very cool Aki. I see you use Norton System Works, my hubby has that. And the Download Accelerator program - is that good? About all I download is mods for Morrowind and Oblivion and most are small so I guess I don't need to accelerate .. but it might help when I download updates for MMORPG's, hmmm? Or not?
Ibis
Looks like another double post but is not .... they are months apart.

=========

This is my present desktop wallpaper
http://i55.photobucket.com/albums/g144/Athane/TG2.jpg
It is from the new MMORPG coming out in Fall of 2006 called The Guild 2. It is a medieval re-enactment role playing game. Looks very authentic. Has real towns like Nottingham Village. I think I'm going to like it. I'll have to see what the quests and fighting rules are though.

Beautiful Abu! You are an Oblivion purist. And Aki I like both of your desktop arts ... but the one with the eagle's claw really r0x0rz bigtime...(I'm guessing it's an eagle from the eye)

I will post mine one more time with complimentary colors since I gave up the purple background. This will be the last of it because after I format soon, I will use something totally different for wallpaper.
